I ordered a mango cart, my cousin ordered a Coors and my husband a sprite and footlong hotdog. My husband waited forever for his hotdog - he could see it sitting in the window while the bar tender socialized and took a smoke break. When he finally served it. It was basically inedible. The chili might have been good last week. I really wish I had thought to snap a photo. There was also a regular (they were all socializing) that every third word was a f bomb. We hit the boardwalk one day, walked around and saw all the eateries and picked this one. Seat yourself, menus on table. Waitress came over in short time to take drink orders in a friendly fashion. Drinks served and took our food order, which was provided in less than ten minutes. Our waitress came to check on us twice after our food was served. (GET THE FRIED PICKLES!!!) My wife and I stopped in for some lunch. First I won't to say the bar was clean the service was great and the food was on point. But it's what I seen one of the staff do for a dog that was obviously needing water. He brought out a large bowl of cold water with ice to keep the water cold. Then he took the order. Not expecting much, every place we been to seemed to take forever to seat , order and bring food but we were surprised and got taking care of fast and efficiently here. Our server was Derek, nice and efficient. We sat outside had view of beach and right on boardwalk. We ordered fried pickles, seafood basket and wings, we also had a few drinks specials of the restaurant, drinks were good and the food was what you would expect from a fried food bar establishment, I might add that it was seasoned so that was a good start. Tried to order a margarita, my ID is out of state and temporary since my permanent one is in the mail. The waitress refused to serve me which is completely understandable, no complaints since it's a weird situation with ID, however no other place has given me an issue. Then she proceeded to come back and say "never mind it's fine" because her sister said "she wouldn't have even IDed you guys but you should probably never come back because we don't take those type of ID's here" then proceeded to bring a drink out that seemed to have no alcohol in it at all. Wouldn't have been a big deal except for it was a $10 drink. I'm not sure if she was just nervous to serve with the whole ID situation, but if so she should have stuck with no. Food was mid at best. The worse. Dark, dank hole in the wall takes the lowest. From the moment you walk in the cigarette smoke smell permeates from every nook and cranny. The overhead doors for windows are dirty and the tables not bussed. With a mandated 18% gratitude (signs all over the place) it leaves little in motivation for servers and it shows! Service is slow and drinks are overpriced as a smaller than a red solo cup Strawberry daiquiri cost nine dollars. Server brought us the wrong food and his drop and dash approach left no time to try and explain this to him. We ordered the Flounder-Shrimp combo and got the Seafood Platter and charged more for oysters we do not like and did not eat. The fried flounder was heavily coated and the batter sluiced off the mushy fish. The few shrimp were your standard restaurant chain shrimp and the tablespoon scoop of coleslaw was ok. They managed to fry the fries and they were crispy. For lunch we had two entrees, two drinks and a beer that cost over $70! I wish I had gone to Bubba's Fish Shack for better service, quality and cost. For what it's worth, this place offers little and left a bad taste in my mouth. I would give no stars if that were an option! Had the most crazy experience at this place yesterday. We (me, my husband and 2 of our friends) stopped here to grab a bite to eat on the way to the Carolina Country Music Festival. As you would imagine, it was very busy! My friend got us each a beer from the bar ($32 for 4!) while we waited for a table to become available. We had just sat down, grab some menus when our "server", and I use that term very loosely, came over and was very hostile. She "informed " us that if we weren't eating, we couldn't sit at "her " table. We tried to explain that we had just sat down, had purchased drinks from the bar and we're going to eat. She went on a rant and started dropping the f bomb and telling us we could leave. We asked for another server she said it was HER section and she was having us thrown out! So.....the nice guy in charge of checking id's came over and told us we had to leave. There was a group of 6 people standing near our table who overheard all of this nonsense and said they weren't staying either. So this young lady, with armpit hair like King Kong (using this for reference so you can BOLO if you go here), managed to run off 10 customers in less than 10 minutes! I understand she didn't care because we would be quickly replaced! I would like to add that we are in our 60s and really don't go looking for trouble, especially when we are just trying to get a bite to eat! read more

I was disappointed by this place for a few reasons. The first was that they charge $1 for a cup (not bottle) of water. If you are just getting water and that's it then I guess I can TRY to understand the cost but when it's added on to the total with your meals it's surprising. The food here was pretty bad. I ordered a fried basket of clam strips and it could be that the oil was off but everything had a plastic flavor that could not be overpowered by ketchup, tartar sauce, or even the horseradish aioli. Went to Oceanfront for lunch got the nachos, they tasted like the 7 eleven nachos. and I had the mushroom Swiss burger prime burger,it needed seasoning, just a burger the bun was the one with the corn meal on top, not the right one at all.My wife had the buffalo chicken sandwich, she didn't know it was grilled. She said it was just ok. My daughter had the chicken fingers they were good but who can't make them. My other daughter had a cheeseburger and she said it was just a burger no seasoning at all. And the kicker was the prices. Way too expensive for what you get. It's diner food at restaurant prices. The bathroom was disgusting, reminded me of a gas station bathroom. Stopped here for lunch. Loved the inside/outside aspect of dining because it was really hot outside. We sat at the bar and there was a nice breeze mixed in with air conditioning. The oceanfront view was a plus. This place is not glamorous by any means. But the restrooms are clean and the food is solid. I had the Grouper Fingers which were delicious. Nice breading. Not too thick. Fish was sweet and juicy. Fries were average. Hubs had the conch fritters. He really loved them. Frozen drinks are AMAZING!!! We had the tropical lifesaver sample compliments of Barry the bartender and the rum runner. Service was on point. Barry was great. Checked on us often an even split our rum runner. Honestly disappointed I wasted to pay for parking to come here and get an even more disappointing meal. The bar is not busy at all, and we waited 15 mins for someone to even greet us at our table. One of the waitresses thought it was okay for a cigarette break behind the bar, leaving it unattended in the bar to go do her job, and then come back to her lit cigarette, which i repeat to you, she sat down IN the bar. Well this is a little dive ish but they do have plenty of drink specials daily & serve a little more than just bar food. You will have an ocean view & the option to sit outside. We had a few minor issues with our meal but they were more than accommodating. Was it the best meal we ever ate, no but the atmosphere was worth it. My wife had some grilled shrimp thing she didn't really care for - it had kind of a smokey flavor or something that she couldn't really identify. The staff was friendly despite having a forced 18% "gratuity" which I don't agree with, it defeats the entire purpose of a tip. We were visiting from Mississippi. The food was delicious. I had the hot dog, sounds simple but it was yummy. My friends had the chicken quesadillas with French fries and they were delicious as well. I had pretty high hopes for this place. It seemed chill and the live entertainment was good. The bartender was fine, but a bit pushy. He kept giving us free samples pretty randomly, which was odd because he wasn't even really chatting with us. We got fried pickles that I was pretty excited about. Love me some fried pickles! Along with our fried pickles, we also got a breaded and fried bread tie. One of those square plastic jawns. I can't make this up (see pic). This turned us off from eating the pickles. Insert sadness. While we were waiting for our entrees, we ordered shots that tasted like buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup. If you see this on their drink menu, GET IT! So good!!! We got their fish tacos and some fried fish po boy sandwich. Both were excellent! the breading on the fish wasn't too heavy or to greasy which I very much appreciated. Service: well, it lacked service.. It took a really long time for a server to come to our table to greet us despite multiple servers walking by us to wait on tables next to us. This bar and grill is a rip off! Our waitress paid us no attention after taking our order. The reason is they charge you 18 percent gratuity so no reason for good service. They also charge an additional 3.5 percent if you use a credit or debit card. Food is definitely average but priced quite expensive. We were charged $2 for a glass of tap water.
