This cost me $21.62 pre-tax, then $24.21 pre-tip to $29.00 post-tip (with Receipt) This Restaurant is good They have the food that I like to eat and that's all that matters to me. They gotta do more soups though, or stuff like Chinese soup noodles but they probably take too long to make.

I'm not a Buffett person, but when the family wants to try it out, you're overruled. However, I was surprisedly shock how good the food was!! The dishes were hot and fresh. The staff continuously keeps the area cleaned. You will find a large range of dishes from the crab legs, beef and broccoli, crawfish walnut shrimp, sushi and hibachi and so much more! They also sell boba tea. For me, it's a nice buffet I've tried in a long long time!

I was not expecting them to have a wide variety of food options as they did. I chose a lot of protein, like 70% of my plate were meats. The buffets back home do not carry items like squid, ribs, mackerel, pig ears, pig feet, bao buns, crab legs, etc. I grabbed the mackerel and squid, lots of it. They were delicious but of course both needed some kinda sauce to dip it in. Then they have the standard items, like cheesy spinach, beef and broccoli, shrimp, regular and stuffed mushrooms, crab rangoon, etc. They do have a raw bar as well but I was a bit weary of eating anything from it as I don't know how long any of it was sitting out over ice, and the items were pre-opened like the oysters. They had a dessert freezer that we could grab an ice cream bar or popsicle but we both passed after stuffing ourselves silly. All the staff in the restaurant were great. Definitely a good spot to return to.

I didn't have high hopes after reading reviews on here and to my surprise some items weren't bad while others were terrible. I didn't eat any of the seafood or sushi except for fried shrimp. Family's favorite items were string beans, chicken teriyaki, crab Rangoon, ribs, French fries, chicken and broccoli. Husband said the sushi was not good and can be passed on. I had the hibachi (picked out broccoli, beef, noodles, onions, zucchini and mushrooms) and added garlic flavor and an egg. The garlic flavor was barely there and the plate of hibachi looked so sad. The egg was looked like someone ate it and spat it back out onto my plate. The yolk and egg white were not scrambled together. I forgot to take a picture. Soft drinks were extra but free refills. The hostess, waitress and waiter were all very friendly.

The is an update review: This is my fourth time visiting and I'm becoming disappointed. The food is no longer hot and the flavors aren't the same. It seems their quality dropped and is slowly becoming like the other buffets in the area. Their salmon is still fresh and delicious but everything else is starting to falter.

I went in there on a Friday night and it was crowded and we went probably 430 5 o'clock. The people were nice. The place is huge and I'm ashamed to say I thought it would just be crappy but I was totally blown away by the food the size of the place the waitresses were pretty good. There was one or two that we called a couple of times and just they walked right past us and one had the audacity to say "it's not my department" she deliberately walked right by us and she was a waitress no less so another waitress saw that and came and helped us and I know (because I was a waitress myself once years ago) that it gets busy and crazy but at least say to the customer paying the $25 per person that I'll be right with you. Don't just walk right by the customer tables! Back to the food... the king crab legs are delicious, but mine were cold and not completely cooked. The new waitress actually went and got me some more hot cooked crab legs but the other food was amazing, too. Everything in there was amazing. I actually walked out of there and I was very impressed and a "happy camper"!!! King crab legs are only served from Friday to Sunday evening. I believe that if anyone goes in the Ocean Grill & Seafood restaurant you'll also come out very impressed. AREAL IMPORTANT thing I'm going to point out to everyone is that they are one of a very few open bars who actually keep up with replacement of all the food sitting on the bars for the customers and I LOVE that and I certainly hope they keep it up without raising their prices. p. s. The ambiance in this place is casual and laid back and I love that too. Who wants to eat all dressed up to eat finger foods NOT me!

Ocean Grill & Seafood Buffet is located in the Holland Windsor Shopping Center on Holland Rd. It is pretty close to the Kroger Marketplace. There are several shops around the place, so parking can be limited at times if you need to try and park close to the business. My most recent visit here was on December 25, 2024. The most recent visit here was my third overall visit. I came in the first time during the lunch hours. It's at a lower cost, but not as many options, but that made sense given the cost. There was still plenty of items to choose from. The other two visits, including the most recent one, was during the dinner time or holiday special. The cost does vary based on the time of day and the day of the week you come in. There is a 10% discount for seniors. Cash is king here. If you pay with a credit or debit card, an additional 3% merchant fee is added. The place is very open inside. There are several areas for seating. Take out is also an option if you are so inclined to go that route. You can see the buffet area as you come in. If you drink sodas, I believe they have Pepsi products. I just stick with water with lemon. Once greeted by the server, you can head up to the buffet to start. If you happen to be coming in with someone who is not doing the buffet, make sure to let the server know up front. Plates, utensils, and hand sanitizer are available at the buffet. You will use a new plate for each visit. There is an area for desserts, salads, and fruits in general at the first serving area. The other two serving areas feature the hot food items, which can vary based on an individual visit. In general, you can find an array of seafood items from fish, shrimp, crab, and more. There are some traditional Chinese foods too, such as Salt and Pepper Shrimp, General Tso Chicken, and more. There is another hot serving area next to the area where the sushi is. That has things like ribs, grilled salmon, and other things of that sort. Finally, they have a hibachi grill. You can choose what foods and sauces you want to have in it, and then it will be cooked for you there as you watch. They were very good about keeping the food areas stocked. The servers I have had on the visits have been good about collecting old plates at the table. The food was really good on each of the visits. I may not make it in too often after the holidays since many of the foods are so good that they spike my blood sugar. For those that don't know, I have been in type 2 diabetic remission for over 18 months as of the time this review was written. Overall, I have had great experiences here with the food and service. There is so much to choose from, so be sure to come hungry. There really is something for everyone. If you're looking for a great seafood buffet place to check out, this place fits the bill.

I am so glad that I found this gem. **Bring cash to avoid paying extra fees** Customer service: Customer service was exceptional! I came during a very busy time as an event was happening, and you couldn't tell. The waitresses were still attentive, nice, charming, and friendly. Food: There was a vast selection of delicious food. There was plenty of seafood, meats, vegetables, fruits, soups, desserts, and even sushi. Two dishes had chicken feet in them. The food rotated very nicely, even with the place being extremely crowded. Establishment: Very clean, very bright. I will definitely come back to eat here.

Somehow a new buffet place opened in CoVa, but it came at the expense of losing another buffet place. Ocean Grill & Seafood Buffet is up and running, replacing the old Buffet City off of Holland Rd. I personally have never eaten at Buffet City, but an uncle loved their calamari. Just a couple of years ago, after a fancy Christmas lunch at Orion's Roof, I drove that uncle to Buffet City so he could pick up some of Buffet City's calamari. I knew he must really dig their calamari, because there's no way I'd drive out from Norfolk to that part of Virginia Beach just for calamari, haha. To each his own, and I'm always amenable to make friends and family happy. Fast forward to present day - Ocean Grill stands in its place. I was on PTO (12/6/24) and decided to check them out. Ocean Grill went through a complete overhaul - plenty of lighting, plenty of seating, and quite the selection of food. They look much like Yukai near Hilltop (I've been told that Yukai and Ocean Grill share the same ownership), just newer and cleaner (albeit a little smaller). Ocean Grill offers typical cooked foods you'd expect at a Chinese buffet, sushi, and a hibachi station, which I took advantage of during my second visit. The optics are excellent - any dining establishment that looks clean and appealing will have a much better chance of getting my dollar. And because their price points are low ($13.99 for lunch; $19.99 for weekday dinner), I would recommend them to hungry friends who don't feel like splurging. The wait staff, based on my two visits, is friendly. They are polite and move with a sense of urgency. I had zero issues with drink refills, while empty plates were removed by the time I returned with another full plate of food. This enhanced both of my visits and only stretches my dollar. The second time I dined here (12/20/24) was with mom. We couldn't decide on dinner, so my mom agreed to try them out. Mom isn't big on buffets, but she doesn't mind giving any business a try. From her perspective, she wasn't all that impressed with the food quality (a lot of the items she tried were overcooked), but she was happy with the service and the establishment's overall cleanliness. For me, I know what to expect with local buffets - it almost always is about quantity over quality. Ocean Grill, early on, has focused on quality (that brings customers in, of course), but in the end a buffet is a buffet. I like them, but I simply don't have the appetite for buffets. But if I'm in a pinch and just want to grab a quick meal, I will head out to Ocean Grill. Thank you, Ocean Grill! JV 3.5 stars

Eel sushi was AMAZING especially for a buffet and they weren't stingy with the amount.

Food: BEST Chinese buffet I've been to in my life and I've been to a lot! lol! Great food! Great selection plus amazing seafood! Food was hot and never empty. Service; Great service. Polite and attentive. Ambiance: Clean. It was crowded but I can see why. Definitely my GO TO Chinese buffet now! I'll be back!

Ahhh yes! Bringing back my childhood! I'd frequent buffets like this when I was in High School. As this location is on the other side of the water and I am in Newport News, it's worth the visit if I'm in the area. The cost was very reasonable especially for children. There was so much to choose from. They had a sushi area, hibachi area ect. The dessert was pretty good too. No complaints. They even had some freezer options, like ice cream. The staff were extremely helpful. Food was always being brought out. Trays were not empty for long. Our table was cleaned off often, we did not have to stare at dirty plates. Our drinks were never empty. Seating was plentiful and parking was a breeze!

I would attempt to go when they first open if possible. ALL THE FOOD was ready when the doors opened. It's nice to go to a buffet when it's untouched and the crowds haven't arrived. Although, once it was close to noon it got super busy, yet there was plenty of seating without feeling overcrowded or overwhelmed. I didn't try the hibachi, but they had some grilled meat to the left, a decent variety of sushi- california rolls*eel rolls *volcano rolls.* and more My husband tore up mainly sushiand the general tso, & beef and broccoli. My sisters primarily honed in on the crab legs. We had never had the entire stone crab before, only the claws. We didn't see just the stone crab claws which were on the side of the fruit buffet the next stand over. Our friend, was able to sample more of the variety than anyone else at our entire table. The stone crabs were a little more challenging to crush with the crackers, unless you're like one of my sisters who is Queen of crab eating and can decimate some crabs like no tomorrow: If you can eat a lot in one sitting, buffets are a way to go. However, if you're eating has slowed down, like me it might not be worth the money unless you go for strictly seafood. Although, if you're looking for an extensive variety, this is a good buffet to check out. You just have to try it yourself. Based on other reviews some said things were too salty, whereas in our group, we found some things bland. I'm not certain that we tried the same things as the other reviewers. If we did, the restaurant might have addressed the saltiness and ended up on the other side of the spectrum.

It was pretty good as the food seemed more fresh compared to other buffets. However, some items seemed under or over cooked. I'd still come back as a lot of the items are more unique than the regular seafood or Chinese buffets. Loved that they had oysters, eggplants, stone crabs, and lobster. The price was $19.99 for dinner 12 & up. Services was regular but was seated right away on a Monday evening. The bright colors and clean areas seemed to be decent. It would be cool if they had duck or pork belly options. But can't be too picky if it's a seafood Buffett.

Came in on a Saturday evening and was told the wait would be about 25-30 minutes, which was fine…read more What was confusing, though, was that there were plenty of empty tables while we waited. We were finally seated around 5:40, but then sat for another 10-15 minutes with no service at all. Eventually I had to get up and ask someone when our table would be helped. Our server finally came over and took our full order at once (drinks, appetizers, and meals). He was friendly, but honestly it felt like we were the forgotten table. The table seated directly behind us received service almost immediately . The restaurant itself was very cold and a little dark, but the music and overall vibe were nice. By 6:17, we had only received our drinks. To make things more confusing, our seafood boils came out before the appetizers we ordered; I told them to keep them! That said, the food was actually really good, hot, fresh, and well seasoned. That's honestly the only reason I'd consider giving this location another chance. Hopefully next time the service matches the quality of the food. Sorry I didn't snap any pics! Once our food arrived, we went in; pics were an afterthought.

I love that they play good music at this location, it definitely makes for a great vibe. My server quickly greeted me and gave me time to look over the menu. I knew I wanted a good variety of seafood and the Combo options didn't include everything I wanted so I opted to create my own. I decided on 1lb of crab legs, and a 1/2lb of shrimp, black and green mussels. It came with corn and potatoes but I also added sausage and an egg. I always choose the Twisted sauce with a "Hot" spice level. The food was served very quickly and I swear the bag was 5lbs, I was definitely being greedy lol! Everything was absolutely delicious though! The seafood was fresh, the potatoes were tender and the corn was sweet! It was exactly what I needed!!! The margarita was very good as well! My server provided wet wipes, which definitely came in handy! Overall, you can never go wrong at The Twisted Crab! I thoroughly enjoy their seafood and have always had a great experience! I will definitely be back.

The staff and even some fellow customers were very accommodating to my friends to help them get seated. Other customers were excited to let my friends know that it is worth the trip. My one friend could not have the nuts and my other friend had some different food allergy that I don't remember- so I had to eat all three samplers because fingers crossed I have no food allergies and I like to minimize food waste as part of being more sustainable and my own culture. I seem to have missed a picture of the Jellyfish Sting drink I had. It was flavorful enough and I liked the rose syrup in particular. The blueberry lemonade cocktail was sweet like I like my drinks. The key lime has a cashew crust that sounds like it compliments the key line well and I had it the last time and loved it. I am not sure if they always use cashew crust. My guess would be yes. Unfortunately one of my friends is allergic to nuts and he could not have it. I believe all the food is made from scratch and it certainly tastes that way. I think the quality prepared seafood and the making from scratch contribute to the limited opening hours of this restaurant. If you are in the area, a must visit if you like seafood. 5/25/26: I forgot to add that I was impressed that they added a mocktail menu and vegan chicken as an option. I think that they should have a vegan seafood option as well being a top notch seafood place in keeping up w the present times for what people would like for options within reason.

We were seated pretty quick for a Friday night just after 5:30pm. An adult buffet is $49.99 per person. That is not including the drink. The staff while some are good, others meh. One hostess showing off midriff and smelling like marijuana. Some of the side conversations against a wall are not the place personally. Do that in the kitchen away from others. Lo was great along with Abby. They were both polite and attentive. Our drinks were constantly filled, and any help or questions we had, were handled. Customers are a melting pot. Some are vultures with crab legs. It is very loud inside and the tables are tight within each other. Some smelled of marijuana as well. The food is ok. The crab legs hit the spot for me. There is an extensive dessert section, two bays. The brisket with gravy was flavorful. The tips of the asparagus were not trimmed, but once we took care of that, it was petty good. Overall it was fine and did the trick, fed us. A good place to get a seafood fix. But, not the place for a special quiet meal.

They have an indoor dining area that is more like intimate and has a cozy feel. They have an outside area that you can eat at and have a great view of the waterfront. And of course they have the "Porch" area which gives that outdoor vibe but you're still inside of a fenced in area. My friend and I ate in the dining room area since it wasn't a wait. We ordered drinks, two crushes which were amazing and refreshing. It definitely gave island vibes. We started off with the crab dip which was incredible and flavorful. The bread with the dip was A1. I could eat the bread alone. Now for the actual dishes. She ordered the crab cake sandwich, she really enjoyed it. Not much filler at all. I ordered a variety. So I had the Cali Virginia Roll which was amazing!! I wish I would have ordered two orders. It was just more on the pricey side. I also had the fried shrimp which were HUGE. I didn't even finish it all. I cannot wait to come back and try everything again.

My most recent visit here was on January 23, 2026. I've seen this place several times as I have gone with my mom to Hobby Lobby. It caught my attention again to try this place when they were listed as a part of the 2026 Virginia Beach Restaurant Week. This is what ultimately got me to get in and try them out. The outside of the place is similar to other places next to the business, but they are very easy to spot. On each of my visits here, I didn't encounter any issues with parking and such, so there seems to be ample parking available. When my mom and I first came in, we were immediately greeted and were able to get a table immediately. I wasn't sure what it would be at first since I saw stuff about reservations. This first visit was on January 21, 2026. Once we were seated, our server came to the table to ask us what we wanted to drink. I did the water with lemon, and my mom went for a Coke, though the Coke never came to the table during this first visit. In the end, that was no big deal. Since we were here specifically for the restaurant week, we stuck to that menu that evening. For the appetizer, I went with the Picanha Empanadas. For the main entree, I went with the 8 oz Filet Mignon with Green Beans and Queso De Mano as my two sides. For the dessert, I sure did go for the Rum Crème Brulée. My mom ended up doing the same thing on this first visit. A few minutes after ordering, the Empanadas came to the table. This came with an olive mayo chimichurri for dipping. The empanadas and the chimichurri complemented each other very well. The taste was amazing too. A few minutes before the entrees would come out, our server came over and put some hot sauce and chimichurri sauce at the table to use. When the entrees came out, they looked really good, and they were hot, so it took a few moments to start. I started with the green beans, and they had such a great flavor to them. By the time I finished that, it was time to indulge in the Filet Mignon. I had ordered it on medium, and it was cooked perfectly. This is not something I have often, but this was awesome. The flavor paired with the chimichurri sauce made it an enjoyable entree. I finished off the main course with the Queso De Mano cheese. This was a very flavorful cheese. The last course was the Rum Crème Brulée. It was quite the surprise when the server came with a blowtorch to go over the top of the dessert. This dessert was the ultimate indulgence for me as I don't normally do these types of foods. The experience was so good that we decided to come back a few days later, on January 23, 2026. I would end up getting the same set of items since it was still restaurant week, but we also ordered the Guacamole appetizer since we were there during happy hour. The chips and guacamole were amazingly good. You can tell it was made fresh. My mom got the Picanha Burger this time. I can say she really liked the burger. Overall, these were two excellent experiences during the restaurant week. The food and service were great with no major issues. One thing I want to note is that they do charge a 3.5% fee if you use a card to pay instead of cash. If you're looking for a unique type of steakhouse, this place is absolutely worth checking out.

Both the host and our server were very friendly. The restaurant itself is nice - it has a dark, masculine decor vibe. While I loved the types of chairs they use, I will say their tables for two are very small. They had this little side table type of thing and that was where I had to put my purse and some of the extra dishes to have room. We had the Wyagu Ribeye and the Picahna steak. Both were very good and cooked to perfection. I had the risotto which I didn't feel was cooked right; it had a gummy texture. The Cesar salad was one of the best I've had. I am not sure if their dressing is house made but it was very good and the addition of prosciutto was a nice touch! I also had a Paloma that was very fresh! Now this is supposed to be a steak house and cantina. The decor did give traditional cantina vibes, but the menu did not offer many traditional cantina type foods. If you are looking for cantina style dishes, you may find yourself disappointed. We did do the guacamole though, and it was just OK I'd say. Would I come back? For the steak and salad yes. Otherwise it was a little underwhelming to the price!

I really wish I didn't live so far away! Service: 4/5. Everyone was pleasant, attentive, and our food and drinks came quickly. Water came slowly, but no biggie. We came at an odd hour on a Friday in the afternoon when it was super quiet and service changed over because of lunch breaks, but we were looked after well regardless. Drinks: 5/5. We chose the Margarita flight and found the drinks to be strong and just right in size. Food: 4.5/5. The starter is the only reason for the docking of .5 because the calamari in the fritanga de mariscos were slightly over-fried (only the batter, the center was still perfect) however, a very generous sized portion. We then chose the ceviche nayarit (there were 5 others to choose from!) to share with intention to order another entree after but wow were we wrong, we had no room to order anymore after those two plates thinking they'd be small. We substituted the ceviche's hot sauce for freshly chopped jalapeños and did not regret it. The mango mixed with the fresh cucumber and tomatoes, crunchy jalapeños and onion, smooth avocado slices, and shrimp bathed in a citrus/wine sauce made for the perfect combination and delicious meal. Overall, I'm giving this place 5 stars and will 100% come back when I'm in the area.

MARISCOS NAYARIT Seafood Restaurant - Mexican Style…read more I saw this restaurant while I was scrolling through a couple of Yelp Elite reviews. Everything looked so delicious. The bright, brilliant colors captured my senses right away. Then I looked at some videos online of the restaurant, and everything again looked so wonderful. I guess where I made my mistake at is the choice of what I picked, and I did not have my glasses on that day, so it was hard to kind of like read the menu. Although they did feature a lot of pictures--which again, because I didn't have my glasses on--it was hard for me to see. I got excited with the choice of shrimps, but I did not know that the head was left on it, which was a big turn-off for me. So I picked sort of like a stir-fry meat, which had steak and shrimp, but I thought it was a whole steak that I was ordering with shrimps on top and some vegetables on top. But to my surprise, that is not what I got. It was sort of like thin steak with the shrimp. I didn't want the pepper, and I got it anyway--it ended up coming out on my order, which wasn't no big deal. I was able to roll with it. I was just not pleased with this order. But I loved the side items. I loved my rice, I loved my pico de gallo, and I loved the guacamole. All of that was delicious, and I'm sure that the other food would have been delicious if I would have got what I thought I was ordering. Now, the person who was with me got a big ol' juicy steak. It tasted rather delicious, and all the sides were good. I guess that's what I really wanted. But I was able to salvage everything by taking my order home and giving it away to someone else who enjoyed it. I liked the way they presented their menu and pictures, and everything was so colorful. Of the food that I did eat, I loved the way that it tasted. The restaurant was characteristic to the style of food that they were cooking, although it was a little dark in the restaurant. It had a seafood theme. The bathrooms were very clean. The staff was very accommodating. It did seem like they had a little trouble understanding English, and we had trouble understanding their language too, a little. But it was only one or two waitresses on staff--and I think the owner or the cook or somebody like that was there too. I will say that I might go back and try this restaurant one more time to give it a fair shake, 'cause at the point that I'm at now, I would give it a 3 out of 5. But my friend loved it--he gave it a 5 out of 5, whatever scale we're grading on. There were other families there who seemed like they were regulars that seemed rather happy with their food and their order. To tell you the truth, I cannot give a fair rating on my food because I was so disappointed in my choice. But going by everybody else's reactions to their food, I'll give it a 4.5 out of 5.
