This is a great laundromat and I use it for the larger items that I can't use in a regular washing machine. It's clean the machines are well taken care of and although it gets busy, everyone is friendly to one another. Their machines work well I can done in under an hour. read more

I had an amazing experience with the owner of the Ocean Park Laundromat on the corner of Ocean Park Blvd and 21st Street, at 2100 Ocean Park Blvd, Santa Monica, CA, 90405. I've been going there for many years. There are more than enough washing machines of different sizes, and as many dryers. The prices are quite reasonable for such a variety of machines. Fellow customers tend to be friendly and helpful. I did my laundry a night ago, and after coming home, realized I had left a dryer full of clothes. The laundromat had been closed a half hour. I tried calling their number to see if I could leave a message about accidentally leaving my laundry. I was going to return with they opened the next day. To my surprise, the owner, Ben Khoe, answered and I apologized for the late call. I explained about my situation and Ben asked me what I left, to see if he could locate it in the dryer. He was able to find my clothes, and said I could come and pick them up, though they were closed. He and his team were doing nightly maintenance after hours. He even added some quarters to the dryer just to make sure that they were dry. I arrived and they were dry. I thanked Ben again for his kindness and professionalism. Ben was modest and kind, a great businessman who looks out for his customers. That kind of attitude is not so easily found these days. There's plenty of table space for folding clothes and chairs. Besides an ATM machine, there's a coin machine, and it's wheelchair accessible. I'm impressed by the great customer service I received. I recommend this laundromat for anyone on the Westside and beyond. read more

Prices have soared. 25 cents for 6 minute dry, and it takes 4 minutes for the dryer to heat up. Top load washer $3. Front load $4 and they smell of stagnant water. $6 for medium front load. Price increases could have been more gradual - $3 to $3.50, 25 cent dry reduced from 10 minutes to 8. Pure greed. read more

This has been my go-to laundromat for five years. Recently, every time I've been it's been unbearably crowded. It's not too bad getting a washer but it bottlenecks and takes time to get a dryer (when I was in yesterday 5 were broken) and you're tripping over people trying to get to one. People will spend an hour + folding their laundry or just hanging out blocking access to the machines and the aisles. The parking is good if you can get a spot in the lot, but usually has street parking close too. When my dryer broke I went multiple times. Very nice machines and reasonable cheap prices! plan ahead. Parking is limited and many people do not have manners. A few times people hold the machines putting one thing inside the dryer to hold it. i thought this was so unfair! Considering there are many people making a business out of doing others people's laundry and it was crowded many times, I still got all my laundry done. If you go, please be kind and use common sense. I met the owner and he was very nice. I think it's kind he keeps the prices so low for very nice machines. read more

Great for late night washes. Very reasonable prices. However, some machines needs to be detailed. And you have to encounter harassment of the old lady works there. She has to check all machines and make comments, asks ppl what machine they have. Avoiding her is almost impossible, she even goes car by car in the parking lot. I have been going there for years, but it seems like she is getting more comfortable everyday. I am so close to tell her mind her own biz! If I want to put my clothes 40 min in the dryer, I will put 40 min. No need her to come and say 30 min is enough. It's only one example of her unnecessary commentary. read more

Awesome place! I'm really picky about going to laundromats (I don't want to deal with fighting over machines and spending time looking for parking), and so far I've had a great experience at this place. I love how they're open from 5am-11pm, as I prefer to come super early to avoid crowds/parking hassles. They have plenty of small and medium-sized washers and large dryers, which make it easy to get all of my laundry done at once. It's also the cheapest laundromat I've found so far--$2 for a light wash and $0.25 more for each extra rinse cycle. They only accept coins, but there's an ATM and coin exchanger on site. I haven't figured out if they have their own wifi, but you can access Santa Monica's free wifi from there, and that's worked fine for me. The only downside, as other people have mentioned, is their parking lot is quite small, maybe 6 spaces and an accessibility one, but street parking on all of the other streets, although I haven't been able to tell how easy it is to find a spot. I've been coming early enough to get a spot in the lot, although by 7am it's usually filled up. I've noticed that some of the washers will initially say around a 30 minute wash time, but it usually runs about 10 minutes longer, so I'm not sure if it's washing my clothes for longer for free, or if the clock is just wrong. Either way, it's not a big deal, unless you're under a time crunch. Overall, it's a clean place to do laundromat and while it might not have all of the conveniences of credit card pay and super accessible parking, I love their hours and prices, and I've always had a hassle free time. read more

I have been coming here for quite some time and I have no complaints. I called earlier to see if they were open and Ben actually answered the phone and was very pleasant. Unfortunately, as I am using the dryer one of the machines was not properly working and I called to let them know. He answered again and apologized for the machine not working and gave me instructions on how to get a refund. I know $1 it's not much but the fact he was empathetic and told me he would come down that says a lot. I ended up leaving before he arrived and he called me to apologized. This is the best laundromat and the best management and I've ever seen since I lived in Los Angeles is clean it offers everything you could ever want in their little enclosed whatever we call it when you buy things that you need to wash your clothes with etc. they have the latest best washing machines They settle themselves to get the best wash if it gets out of balance they're brand new and they're huge and it doesn't cost much but three dollars really a load which means an amazing it's just amazing I could get out of there after I don't do laundry often because I go to the cleaners etc. butI probably paid six dollars which includes incredible dryers and a great washer and the people there are so nice that go there and the owner he's really something he's not greedy he's really runs a wonderful place it's clean!!!! read more

I almost hate to write a review for fear this gem will become overpopulated .... the Ocean Park Laundromat is always clean - the washing machines and dryers are immaculate - never have a mildew smell - and the facility clean and well kept. Ben the owner and the lovely lady who takes care of the place - I have forgotten her name (Susie I think) are genuine and available. Today (Easter Sunday) I finished doing my laundry and was loading my car when my keys fell Into the storm drain. I asked for assistance from a gentleman using the ATM who rudely told me he was too busy on a phone call to help ( actually "I don't have time for you I'm on the phone"). One of the other ladies (who all offered to help) suggested I call Ben. What a hero / miracle / blessing he is - he was delivering food to his parents and came by afterward (within 15 minutes) with a magnetic pole and popped my keys out in 3 seconds. It is not often that someone goes out of their way to help but Ben is one in a million and i wanted to thank him! read more

Also, I had left two of my favorite pair of jeans (first expensive ones I own) and I called the owner and he and his team were able to track them down and return them 24 hours later, now that is service! The description says the newer style machines 'give a better wash' but they dont- because they use LESS WATER!! Even the large capacity machines dont wash well- some of my clothes have either come out smelling unclean or a bit soapy! You can even see how low the water level is when washing on these 'newer' machines. Also, the design of the "newer machines" is not good when it comes to the soap compartment- there is accumulated soap residue in there! That means that the final rinse water passes through that soapy area, reintroducing some soap into the final rinse- i dont think they clean out the soap residue. On the brighter side, they still kept 3 older models- the traditional top-load washing machines, which use more water than those newer ones, and you put the soap directly into the wash, avoiding those soapy soap receptacles! I dont know what the designers of these newer machines were thinking- they just don't wash well due to their LOW WATER output and soapy receptacles. I hope they bring back the older models! read more

I've been coming to this laundromat since I moved back to LA, which was about 3 months ago. I love how affordable it is and that the machines actually work. There's some places that are affordable but have crappy machines. Their staff is friendly, one of the owners gave me a free wash :) The only cons about this place are how small it is and the parking. It's hard to navigate around the laundry with the limited space, especially when it's packed. If parking is also hard to find if the lot is full. read more

Dudes! This is the cheapest laundromat I've found (so far) at $2 a load and 25 cents for 10 mins in the dryer. I've come here twice and have never had any problems. Although... today... the change machine on the side where the dryers are ATE my dollar. So beware of that one. The thing I don't really like is that the staff is never really around.. they're there sometimes apparently. But I had no one to tell about the hungry machine, so hopefully if someone else tries it and there is an employee there, they can get helped if it happens to them. Otherwise, use the other change machine. It was hot as hell today in there and I put the dryer setting on "hot" soooo yeah I cannot say I recommend that one in the summer, BUT I would do it again so there's that. Laundry doesn't seem like a drag here for some reason. Or maybe that's just bc it's cheap, but idc. There's nothing better than warm (or in this case, hot), freshly scented clothes! Woo! read more

This review is so long over due. This place is a true Santa Monica gem and I'm so glad to call it my laundry spot! I have been coming here for years and I'm never disappointed! One of the best things about this special spot is that it is family owned and operated. I love supporting local businesses! It's important to keep them alive! You seriously can't bet doing your laundry here. Plenty of washers and dryers! A small parking (free) lot, but it works.
