We're bouncing around after the fires so have been using various laundries on the east and west side and shared laundries in apartments. It's interesting how places differ and sparkling coin is the best I've been to thats a non-bougie laundry. This place is super clean and well lit. There's a clean bathroom. Free coffee and tea. Big recycling bins too (clean out the car whilst waiting). It's a coin laundry and there's a change machine . There's machines that take one load to the biggest machine that takes 8 loads (perfect for a load of quilts or carpets) and the loads take about 25 minutes. I think the 8 load one cost $9. There's also large capacity dryers that are pretty quick and it's been a couple of weeks but I think it's $.25 for 15 minutes. The wheelie basket things are plenty full and very clean and there's a long folding bench that goes along all the front window. I've left laundry there the whole day and nothing's ever been stolen. People who go there are chill. The woman that works there is really helpful and nice. It's much cheaper and cleaner than any of the laundry I've used in Santa Monica and the staff don't hide in their office. Parking can be a bit of pain in the arse at meal times because there's a popular Thai restaurant in the same strip mall. read more

This is a very very busy place, so finding parking is a little bit hard. Other than that they have many different sizes of washers and dryers, plus tables for folding clothes with stools by the windows. The laundromat was very clean and very busy. They also have a drop off and pick up laundry service, There is a machine that converts cash to quarters, and a vending machine with supplies at reasonable prices. The staff was helpful read more

I used to like this place... Usually fairly busy. Though it's a bit more expensive than others nearby. But it seemed well managed, clean and safe. I'd been there a few times before, but yesterday I found MANY of the machines, washers & dryers, marked 'out of service'. After finding some near each other, I loaded 3 triple loads, and 1 double...went to get change from the coin machine..."OUT OF SERVICE". No problem...went to the other machine... also "OUT OF SERVICE" I'm lucky I hadn't added detergent yet! Had to unload my dirty laundry and look for another place. What a hassle!! read more

Friendly and helpful, and AFAIK the only place in town that does bed bug elimination from bedding, etc. This is a special wash and dry treatment that uses extremely high temperatures to eliminate bed bugs from sheets, blankets, and bedspreads and clothing where regular laundry or organic dry cleaning are not effective. A pleasure doing business with. They did my bedding and an heirloom needlepoint pillow and did an excellent job and packed it all up neatly for me to take home, and even helped load it into my car. Antonio and Carlos here are really helpful and always maintain this place clean . I come once a week sometimes twice and week with about nine loads because I wash for my home and business . They constantly have to deal with really rude people because I've witnessed it a few times while washing here . These guys are so kind, patient and polite no matter how rude people have been. What an absolutely unapologetic and rude place. I came in rushing at 8:32 and the last wash is 8:30 and I got turned away. Are you kidding me? Parking: It was my very first time here, I came on a Monday around 11 am. Parking lot was full so I parked in the residence, 2 hour free parking, which was behind the laundromat. Make sure you read the street signs. It's not a long walk, especially if u have a wheeled hamper. I also noticed some people would bring the wheeled-laundry carts outside of the laundromat, pick up their clothes from their car, and come back--so that is also an option for you. Prices & Washers/Dryers: The prices here are average, common prices I've seen in other laundromats. They have 5 types of washers: $2.75 small, single load "older" washers (right side) $3.00 single load washers (left side) $4.50 double load washers (middle) $5.50 triple load washers (middle) $6.50 quadruple load washers (right side) However, they only have 3 of those "quad" load washers. I'm not entirely sure if it's quad because I didn't see a signage above them like the others, I'm just assuming since they are larger. You may even be able to fit in 5 loads. As for dryers, they are 25¢/8 min. Cleanliness: The place is pretty clean, both the washers/dryers and place itself. I didn't see any mildew/mold on the washers I used. The place is well-kept. It looked like there were 2 staff on duty, one would be washing clothes and walking around periodically, and the other was continuously cleaning empty washing machines. Misc.: It was slightly busy, on a Monday noon, but a good turnover of people coming and going. I didn't have to wait for a washer or dryer to open up. And there's chairs for you to sit. There is also free WiFi, just ask the attendant for the code. They have 2 bill changers, which can do 1s, 5s, 10s, and 20s. Final Decision: I would come back here again. Not the cheapest I've seen BUT the machines are clean, my clothes were washed and dried well, no waiting for machines to open, had a chair to sit on, and plenty residential parking (keep in mind different times of the day may be different). I enjoyed the service here (: Nothing negative for me to say! 4 stars because parking and a tad pricey but can be of value when you wash multiple loads at once! read more

I always go to this location although it's farther from my apartment due to their cleanliness and their private lot. There aren't transients littered outside like the laundromat located on Santa Monica + Westgate. I use the industrial-sized washers to wash my winter blankets (the heavy ass ones). Lets face it, it is not often to find ANY coin operated Laundromat worthy of 5 stars but there is always a first time for everything. This place is the cleanest, nicest, most enjoyable place to do your laundry. They have brand new, mega washers in which I managed to fit my bed comforter AND 2 pillows and came out brand-new "sparkling" clean. Granted, its $8.00 (For largest washer) but well worth it. The facility has an on-site manager, Tony, who is always friendly and helpful and keeps the riffraff OUT. There are 2 TV's, charging stations for your phone, and a vending machine for laundry supplies. The dryers actually dry and don't ruin your clothes. I ran into the owner one day. Very nice guy who is quite interested in feedback as he is always looking to improve. So, it is never a chore, or bother to have to spend an hour or so at the laundry because I now have this amazing place. read more

My apartment's laundry machines broke again.... and i really didn't have time to wait, so I looked up the closest laundry mat and here I am! It's about 5.50 for a wash and about a dollar for drying. There's parking in the front or on the street just not on Friday usually because of street cleaning but I found parking on Pico. It's pretty clean and handy--I saw a lot of people dropping off their laundry for laundry services. One day, when I have no time to do laundry, perhaps i will do so too! I could not be happier with the service from Sparkling Coin, which offers an incredible same-day turnaround for laundry dropped off by 10am in the morning. My clothes are washed, carefully folded, and bundled for pick up after 6pm. Tony, Walter, and the rest of the team always provide helpful, friendly, and efficient customer service. They even have a great website that offers a lot of information about their services (including details that give you confidence in relying on someone else do your laundry!) Laundry used to take up a good chunk of my weekend with my apartment building's one machine, and now it's a breeze. I've been living in the area for years. This is my go-to neighborhood laundromat (even though there is one closer to me). I usually have a good experience. I've been to laundromats in my life where I unloaded my laundry from the car, transported it into the laundromat, and go to get change from the change machine--and it didn't work. And then had to load everything back into the car to search for change. So to eliminate that scenario, I usually pull into the lot, go into the laundromat, get change, and THEN unload the laundry from the car and transport it into the laundromat. Until today...... when Antonio (one of the employees) said i could not get change unless I was a patron. I explained the situation. Uh oh. I had a really bad day and this was the icing on the cake . I'm sure this could've been handled in a much better way. #disappointed read more

DISLIKES THE MANAGEMENT AND HOW UNCLEAN IT IS... I needed to do some laundry since my apt laundry machines don't work well for large loads. I went in and the price is about 2.50 for a wash. BRING QUARTERS!!! Also, bring your own detergent and fabric softener. The wash takes 30 mins, and drying takes 6 mins for 25 cents. Took me about 45 mins to finish a big load! They also have a drop off service for a discount.. but the management isn't the greatest so I wouldn't do it. PRO TIP: bring your own detergent, and do small loads so you are out faster too! read more

This was my first visit here. Everything went smoothly and quickly. The place was immaculate, every machine was working. The staff was helpful. I hope I continue to have good experiences here. I'm sorry for those who had crappy things happen to them. From those comments I will look for ink before I put anything in the machines. My local laundromat is a dump and just stepping in is depressing. Regularly there's some person who I wonder if they are going to go into a rant which obviously has happened here. But, there's always been this element in the laundromats I've used throughout my life (I'm 66). So it comes with the territory. Best laundry service ever! The people that work here are fantastic. I've been dropping off the laundry here for awhile and every time it's folded so perfectly that I really would rather use their services than do it myself. Conveniently located in a corner strip mall off Pico Blvd. This place is super clean and leaves my laundry smelling wonderful. I first started coming here only to bring the towels and the sheets but now I've brought most of my own clothes and they do a great job. Super fast service and a great price! read more

First time here, I went here because Yelp highly rated it. However, yelp is never a guarantee, regretfully. This is the 1st time yelp has let me down, but that's ok. It's the laundramat that's at fault here, not a website. Anyways, the pictures below should make things quite clear as to what happened here. Greenish grey streaks of grease?? On my linens and bath towel. Solidified soap that looks nothing like woolite darks liquid detergent. And yes before u ask I did look inside the washer before putting my clothes in. I even avoided washers that smelled bad. This one smelled fine and looked fine. Avoid single load washer #5. And to elaborate on important details, i was able to get that stuff out, however the hispanic guy working there was more livid that I was, was extremely unprofessional, and told me not to come back. So Gary, is that what you tell your employees to tell customers discontent with their first visit? Hopefully not. I would highly recommend Tiffany's Coin Laundry!!!!! That's where i usually go and I've never had problems at this place. As a matter of fact the hispanic guy who runs Tiffany's is VERY PROFESSIONAL AND DOES EVERYTHING WITH A SWEET SMILE!!! HE NEEDS A PROMOTION!!! He never argues with the customer or blames the customer for a problem caused by the coin machine or washer. The short man who works here who handles the drop off laundry service is very rude and confrontational. I don't want to say he has a Napoleon Complex, but he was very controlling and condescending when asked for help about the coin machine not working; he was upset because I interrupted him folding shirts. I don't mean to have standards or anything, but I truly feel that he should be at the very least professional to customers who are paying to use their washing equipment. I will no longer do my washing here and highly advise against going here unless you like condescending jerks who have no power outside of their workplace who actively try to talk down to their customers. This is going to sound weird, but after being in a place with an in-unit washer & dryer, there are actually things I look forward to about using a laundromat again. Need a hefty dryer to dry a ton of crap? Have six loads of laundry but not the 8 hours needed to do them back-to-back? On the odd occasion you need to just drop off your laundry and have them do it for you? Sparkling Coin Laundry is the place for all of that. Things I love about this place: - Free wi-fi - Yelp Check-In deal (currently 30 minutes of drying time) - Open really late and really early. 7am to 11:30pm most days! - Free wi-fi - Helpful staff - A good amount of machines, and big dryers - Transactions are in quarters, not tokens, so you don't get a bunch of useless coinage if you don't use it all. It's not a massive place, but as long as it's not crowded you'll be fine. The parking lot for the strip mall is small, so try to come at odd hours. The only thing that would make this place better is if they could convert a credit card swipe to coins. read more

Me and my girlfriend dropped our laundry off at Sparkling Coin Laundry to be washed and dried. When we picked it up, the laundry was folded and wrapped neatly in plastic. When we started putting our laundry away we found a number of our light-colored items had orange stains everywhere. The employees had to have noticed this. Our white sheets are stained, as are our white towels, a pair of my girlfriend's shorts, and several other items. Definitely avoid this place if you're planning on dropping laundry off for them to do! If you're doing your laundry yourself, this place is average. read more

I don't have much experience with laundromats, so I'm basing this review off of how much this place saved me from having wet laundry. OKAY, so without warning, the landlord decided to increase the laundry cost for $2.00. Ouch. That's practically laundromat price. I'm all for convenience, so I put my laundry and gave the machine $2 in quarters. I waited for half an hour, went back to the laundry, ready to put it all in the dryers. The dryers were broken. WTF. It was already 11PM, so I was looking for for a place to dry my laundry that was open. Thank you, Sparkling Coin Laundry! I've been going to a cheaper, albeit dirty and grungy coin wash about a mile away, and couldn't stand it anymore. I'm so glad I found this place and here's why: Pros - Very clean - no dust or lint floating around. New machines that really get your clothes clean! My apartment washer and dryer doesn't really work well so that's why I'm here. That and I had a gazillion loads to do and wanted to knock them all out at once! Friendly proprietor that really cares about his customers and business. He is giving away prizes in a raffle where you get a ticket per wash. He gives away free snacks, and told me there is always someone on site to help answer questions or fix a problem. Open early at 7am which works for a mom who wants to make the most of here day getting things done. Cons - A bit pricey, but I'll pay more for a clean atmosphere, friendly service and clean clothes! Also if you run out of coins, there is an ATM at liquor store right next door. If you live closeby I highly recommend checking this place out. read more

Brought in some moldy bedsheets, don't ask how they got that way. I rushed here and it was obvious from the look on my face I had some trouble figuring out the machines. Antonio showed me the ropes and got me started. When I mentioned the mold to Antonio he suggested what cycle etc to use. Unfortunately after the first wash it didn't come out. So Antonio swiftly stepped into action and helped me pre treat it with his own specialty concoction designed to handle these things and added extra (complimentary) bleach and put it in another cycle for me (on the house) since the first wash didn't take. This is EXCEPTIONAL customer service with a smile. I so appreciate his help and that of the staff. I'm definitely coming back! Also, there's wifi which is handy so I can work and do other things while my cycles are running. read more

Ive been coming here for the last couple times I needed to do minor laundry for my detail business i came in Friday the 2nd and got quarters was followed and asked if I was gonna wash there which I kindly responded yes. I went to my car as it was raining waiting for some more employees to bring their soiled wash rags and weird lady just stood at the door taking pictures of me in my car which I told her I am washing here just waiting on a few people to bring me their items. she was rude and weird following me to my car and just watching me ultimately making me feel uncomfortable there's usually a male worker here who keeps to his own folding his clothes and pretty chill guy but this lady just really threw me off. read more

I don't really enjoy having to go to the laundromat but when I do, I choose this place. It is everything that other yelpers have said about. The staff are wonderful. It's clean and there's free wi-FI. They have adequate sized washers and fast dryers. The best thing about it is having a staff member onsite. So if there's any issues with a washer for instance, expect some attention immediately. They do pick up and delivery service now and I'm considering it in the future. They look like they do an awesome job. I really enjoy coming here when I have to especially during the week days when it's not too busy. Overall- they get 5 stars. read more

Warning: I have very expensive sheets ($800/set) and for the 2nd time, they were ruined by the drying machine here. The first time, a year ago, it was small spots that never came out and this time, sheets were not usable afterwards. You could clearly see that somebody left a pen in the dryer as it was still wedged into the hole spilling ink everywhere. I told the washing attendant who was extremely rude (as he always is toward me...never even acknowledging me despite me coming in weekly at the same time). He "cleaned" the dryer of what he could see, but the reality is the ink had traces still all over the window and the spinning part which, for the next person, would/will ruin their laundry in traces as it did my first ruined batch. Did not appreciate the disregard of my issue caused by your machines. read more
