After my prior review, Ocean reached out to try to make things right with a refund and a sincere apology, which I appreciated. As I mentioned in the other review, it's apparently common for plumbers not to bother with trying to fix garbage disposals, so I don't think they did an abnormally bad job here. This is probably a commonly missed and expensive opportunity for repair. Unfortunately, I don't think there is much choice but to do research and leg work yourself before hiring a plumber, since they will just replace everything. Buying an endoscope is the best idea I've had in a long time. Ocean's workers were very polite, on time, etc. The work on the pipes was great. The experience was 5-stars before I realized the garbage disposal had been forgotten and still would have been if the followup had been more complete (because I understand that stuff happens). So everything else with Ocean should be nice, but you might need to make sure you aren't paying for work that isn't necessary. read more

Our sewer line was backed up and needed to be cleared ASAP. We found Ocean Plumbing on Yelp, and Eddie was able to come out and assess the situation quickly. He ran a snake through the line and pulled out weeds that were causing the blockage. Then, he used a camera to check for any remaining roots or damaged pipes free of charge! Had quite a mess that I hoped was not because of a main pipe obstruction; toilet clogged, slow drain. Then washer drain clogs, then lower bathroom begins to seep yucky stuff! Called out for help, Ocean plumbing came to the rescue! Eddie, who was very courteous, knew what was wrong, a shared drainage line, and despite not having all his equipment, managed to do with what he had. Eddie and his team are quite possibly the best home repair company I've ever worked with after 10+ years of home ownership. After dealing with another plumbing company that was trying to gouge us and take advantage of an emergency plumbing situation, I found Eddie. He returned my request for service at 10 PM at night, we spoke on the phone, and he was at my door before 8 AM the next morning as promised. He had a team of guys, high quality equipment, and an attitude of just wanting to help. Within two hours he had sketched out my entire plumbing system in my crawl space, prepared a professional estimate, and provided a schedule for the work. His crew came back later the same day to get started so we could have one working bathroom before dinnertime, and the work was finished the following day. The price was reasonable for the nature of the work, and not once did he come asking for more money (unlike the last company who seemed to come up with new cost demands every 2 hours). I work in commercial construction and I find myself constantly disappointed by people in the residential construction world. But Eddie is a true professional and he deserves at least a few extra stars for his hard work, his skill in his trade, and his amazing attitude. Kudos to Eddie and his team! We needed to replace the plumbing for our Roman tub. The job was difficult - access was limited to a tiny crawl space. Other companies said they would need to access the area through our living room ceiling or by tearing up the tile in the bathroom. The exterior valves connecting the city water supply to the house had worn out. Eddie replaced two valves (mains and irrigation) with new copper hardware. He explained every step very helpfully. I was in a emergency situation on a normal working day, Eddie, gave a outrageous $1600 quote to start the job related to snaking a Main line from a cleanout and doing cleanup. He did not tell me that the cleanout is located just right there below the water line. He was not being professional. There was a cleanout right below the ground level , just 2-4 inches below water / soil line, Open and ready to snake. So be careful if you small someone thrive on FUD (creating Fear , Uncertainty, Disaster like approach), He was being opportunistic. Very bad business technique. When confronted he cited he has to pay $65 an hour to his staff, has 2 Mil insurance, licenses so costs are high. But I understand these bit someone else doing teh same job for $150 is a big difference. read more
