My husband and I stopped in yesterday for breakfast. When we walked in, we were underwhelmed. The lack of decor and empty, unbussed tables were uninviting. We were greeted quickly & took a while to order. We decided on an omelet, home fries & the turkey club. The omelet had hardly any meat in it and was not fluffy in the slightest. The potatoes were great though, the best thing we had. The turkey club was just plain boring and dry. There was no mayo or anything on it to make it moist, it was just a dry sandwich. The hostess/busser was eagerly trying to take our plates before we had finished, we felt rushed. She gave us a punch card telling us our 10th meal would be free, but we won't be returning. The only problem I had here were all the amazing sounding choices on the menu AND the daily specials. So many choices. I went with the eggs benedict. Seriously magically poached eggs and an out of this world hollandaise. Of course then I smelled the hot cakes or waffles and wanted so badly!!! The staff was amazing as well. Pretty disappointing place to eat. I've ordered twice from here for delivery. Both times were terrible. The most recent order was done today. Gravy and biscuits had gravy that was overly salty. The order of crab Benedict was comical. The amount of crab meat in the entire dish was able to be scooped with one small spoon. The cook didn't pay attention to the additional, paid requests. No hollandaise sauce!! For a Benedict. No cheese on eggs as asked, but cheese on grits which wasnt asked for. The pancakes were like bricks. We had a Groupon here and decided to try it on a Saturday morning. We took out kids and be def love breakfast so we were excited to try it out. The staff that greeted us was nice, didn't take long to get a table and they were really good with asking us about kids refills since most paces they seen to ask kids. The food was awesome, French toast was may favorite, breakfast potatoes were very fresh, yummy eggs and sausage too. I wanted to get more!!! So disappointed!!! Started patronizing Oceana the week it opened, almost every Sunday after church. The Turkish guys who owned it were amazing. Always there and always working. The waitstaff was great, never a problem. Recently went and we were so disappointed! NEW OWNER. We will never go back! When we arrived there were 9 dirty tables. It was a Tuesday morning so there shouldn't have been a recent rush. The waitress stopped at our table twice to tell us she was busy. There were only 5 other tables of customers besides us. A guy who we later found out was the owner, came by the table and asked how everything was. I replied we haven't ordered yet. What he should have said was "Let me grab you some drinks", what he said was "ok". Then he went and sat at a table in the back laughing and talking with people. No bueno!! The waitress finally arrived to take our order but could only handle getting our drink order because "she was swamped". There were only four of us. My instinct told me to leave but we didn't. We ordered, food came and we ate. Food was ok not terrible but nothing to write home about. When we left the "owner" was still sitting in the back and there were now 12 dirty tables. Big mistake!!! This place has only been open four weeks and the service and the food were quick and delicious. The owner came to make sure everything was right. The place was very busy. He said he never expected to be this busy today. So, even more impressive that food and service was delicious and served promptly. I had the Mediterranean omelette with egg beaters, grits and wheat toast. Yes! They have good grits. My husband got a Reuben and fries. The Reuben was classically delicious. The fries were hot and crispy. They easily accommodated a group of eight that came in just before us. We plan to bring our family and guests here next weekend. They will be open Easter. read more

Service was good. Food was okay. I had a waffle with fresh strawberries and the corned beef hash. The waffle wasn't as soft, light, or sweet as I usually like. The waffle itself seemed a bit bland and the strawberries weren't very sweet at all. Perhaps, that wasn't quite their fault. The corn beef was simply okay. Found this great diner on my way to Jacksonville Beach. I had flown in from Detroit earlier in the day and needed a hearty meal to shake off the cold weather blues and get me ready for Florida sun. Oceana serves dinner now so the wife and I gave it a try and we were glad we did! The staff was very friendly and the cook always went to every table to make sure the food was good. I ordered a Salmon dinner and the wife had Porkchops. Both were cooked perfect and the sides were fresh and tasty. We will be visiting again soon! read more

The diner is a diamond in the rough! Went to ihop down the street and there was a hour1/2 wait. Was told about this little awesome location and I can't stop bringing my family and friends and I've got a fam of 6! So it's so good on the pockets as well. It's close to my house. and if the wait is too long at First Watch I'll head over again. Otherwise- it's fairly standard diner fair- albeit it at a reasonable price. Crab benedict was the clear stand-out- nice, fresh crab meat served over perfectly poached eggs and topped with a basic hollandaise sauce. The potatoes that came with it were a bit of a miss- unevenly cooked- too large of a cut- and too conservative with the spices. I think the owners should crank up the 'greekness' factor of this diner to really stand out. Offer up some moussaka, some phyllo dough delights, get some quality shwarma meat going on a spit that you put together in house. We need that desperately in Jacksonville. I debated between 2 & 3 Stars. Overall, food and prices were average, my wife very much enjoyed the coffee and the owner/MOD and staff were very friendly. I lover diners but I also have a level of expectations regarding diner service. The Oceana Diner did not meet those expectations. My eggs were cold and over buttered, bacon was over cooked, I saw the bottom of my coffee cup twice, and although, the restaurant was NOT busy, the tables next us remained dirty for most of our meal, & every new customer who came in had to wait on a table to be cleaned. I am not sure I will return soon, but it could have been an off day. read more

We always celebrate my husband's birthday with King Crab -- and the ones we had at Oceana Diner were perfectly prepared and served and were huge! Wonderful birthday dinner. Would have been nice to eat upstairs instead of the small room below, but hubby couldn't get up all the stairs with his walker. Would have been even nicer with an elevator! read more
