This was our first time here. We were so disappointed with the entire experience. Check in was a joke, our waiter Brian was horrible and the drinks and food was not good. We really enjoyed this place! The placement is perfect for a pier walk before or after. They have both inside and outside dining and the bar is both, as well. It's not huge but it is spacious. Parking: pay for valet or Uber or walk from your hotel. There's minimal parking on the streets. Drinks: the drinks are great! I recommend the Cool as a Cuke. It's a refreshing vodka cucumber drink. We enjoyed appetizers; - octopus: grilled with Spanish style chorizo and some small sliced of potatoes. Delish! 5/5 do it!! - sushi: rainbow roll: it was great! I liked the flavorful wasabi a lot too - oysters: not the best I've ever had...but quite nice. I would give a 4/5 - mezza platter: the bread was soft and the hummus was fresh. We really enjoyed that very much. 5/5 Then we orders the Oceans grilled platter. 3/5. The shrimp and fish was over cooked but we loved the scallops. I like overcooked shrimp so i liked it. But the fish...i didn't care for. Overall: the ambiance and the server were tops. The price was great!! 5/5 Food: 4/5 I would go again. I recommend it! My husband said he wouldn't go again. Meh. Came here on a Saturday night and wasn't impressed. First, with several open seats at the bar, I sat down and watched at least 7 bar staff do prep work and gather with each other but no contact was made for at least 10 mins when I had to interrupt the bartenders conversation. When presented with the menu, it seemed that this was an abbreviated menu, with very limited items. As I went through the Yelp pics, I saw very few items pictured on the menu. My friend had a sushi roll and it was a basic roll, nothing special, at $20 and I had the burger which was very good but I didn't really want a burger at a place called Oceans 234. The menu seems to have been chopped in half probably due to Covid. The service at the bar throughout the whole night was just like my initial impression. Lots of staff gathering and not one of them look around before leaving the bar to pick up food or whatever they were doing. You had to literally waive at them like an sos to get their attention. This is a simple training issue and 5 bartenders at this small bar should be able to service clients more attentively. This was nothing special and I probably wouldn't go back. But the best part of the night was the burger. read more

The food was ok, nothing super really out of this world. The service was also fine, the host wasn't the most friendly but our waiter was polite. The reason for the low stars is due to the sanitation issues with this place. They had a dog sitting on guest napkins. We saw this at the end of our visit and we're super grossed out by this. Recently we had both our adult daughters in town, and before they flew back to NYC and Houston, I wanted to have one of those "special occasion" meal experiences which is what led me to pick Oceans 234. They definitely did not disappoint! Here's a recap: Firstly, do the valet parking. It's very convenient and reasonably priced. Secondly, if you want to sit outside near the boardwalk and beach, make reservations. I didn't, but we still got a 4 seat hightop table near enough to the floor to ceiling windows to be afforded a beautiful ocean view. We were quickly seated on a Friday afternoon at 3:00. They've got a pretty eclectic craft cocktail menu: I especially enjoyed my "Up in Smoke" with Bulleit Rye whiskey, Ghost pepper bitters, jalapeño agave, and CBD(!!)....very smooth and delicious! We also did some fine shots of Codigo Rose tequila. We moved on to apps of fried calamari and East coast oysters, both were good and came out quick. A nice touch between apps and entrees were the steaming hot moist hand towels to freshen up with. For entrees we selected scallops with risotto (BIG non-gritty scallops in a VERY creamy risotto), swordfish (a very nice sized steak, firm and not too fishy), kale salad with a very generous slab of delicious salmon, and my entree, the lobster mac n' cheese (perfectly prepared tail on top of a generous serving of creamy pasta smothered in cheese shavings). Everyone tried everyone else's entrees and agreed they were all great. For dessert, we had a classic Key Lime pie and a pretty decadent and delicious Chocolate Trilogy. Last, but not least, for me what made Oceans 234 a 5 star experience was our server, Brian D. It is rare and wonderful when you encounter an experienced server with the level of competence, humor, personality and professionalism he exhibited. My daughter, who is also a server at an upscale restaurant in Houston, was quick to point out the nuances of the job and how well Brian performed them. You'd do well to ask if he's available if you go to Oceans 234. read more

Wife and i ate there Saturday night for our anniversary. Not our first time at Oceans and of course wont be our last. The Giant shrimp scampi was excellent as well as my wifes Snapper over Balsamic rice also accompanied with four giant shrimp. Great service as well. read more

I really enjoyed this place, we sat outside on a perfect day. I had a colada which was their version of a vodka pina colada. It was good but the strawberry fields I had later was better. I got the Thai snapper and shrimp and it was excellent ! My wife got the Cobb and my daughter had the Nashville chicken sandwich that she loved. My youngest got the kids mac and cheese and it was killer can't imagine how good the lobster Mac is. Would def go back ! read more

This restaurant has decent food but the host staff are awful. The host staff place good customer service at the back of their priorities and are generally rude, irritated, and overwhelmed by the number of patrons, with a particularly rude host/manager named Albert who isn't at all interested in doing a good job. The heart of good customer service should be patience and positivity - both of which are lacking. In their staff Furthermore, some of the patrons take a page out of the "how to be rude" playbook. There were multiple drunk unruly patrons when we visited the establishment including drunks who were loudly talking about "F-ing" women at the bar. The bartenders seemed to encourage the behavior by continuing to provide alcohol to patrons who were unruly and seemed already heavily intoxicated. To add insult to injury, they added a 20% gratuity to our tab despite slow and bad service and when we were below the count for an automatic gratuity. I strongly recommend you consider other restaurants with better food and better service. read more

The drinks were good I really liked the lemonade better than the one melon. I got the fried snapper it was very well cooked and the sauce is a good spicy not too hot. The rice was soft and paired perfectly with the fish. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Very nice ambiance. Beautiful views to the beach. Great spot to go for a nice fancy date. They have tables inside and outside so you can make a reservation for where you want to sit. We walked in and they said an hour wait but we sat outside and ordered and a drink and really didn't have to wait so long till we got seated inside. I liked the area great for big parties or small. I came here because I wanted to partake in the breathtaking view they raved about. I saw a doorframe the whole night. My burger was terrible. The manager cane and asked what was wrong. So I told her. This is my first and last time here. I waited 20 mins for my reservation because the woman forgot about us. When I asked her if she forgot she said no Nicholas right? I said no Joanne. Oh I don't have a reservation for you. I said you checked me in over 20 mins ago. So then she seats us in the middle of a doorway that all the staff and customers are using as a walkway. I asked her to move us. She told me she had no open tables. They all had reservations. Well hello so did I an hour ago. I kept waiting for food that the staff was carrying to fall on my husbands head. My night was totally ruined. Happy Valentine's Day to me. I tell the manager all this. She says you're right I'll tell the staff not to come through here. 2 min later a waiter with a full tray of food goes over my husbands head. He said I felt that one pass by. I mean give me a break. She took my food off the bill since I didn't like it. I still have the nasty taste in my mouth. Never ever again. This is what I get for wanting to try some place new. Prior to our arrival to the restaurant, we called a day ahead to make a reservation. The woman on the phone just said oh we don't hold spots. So we were oddly unable to make a reservation. Yet, when we arrived we were informed we should've said the words reservation to make a reservation ?? But wouldn't asking hey can we book a table for so and so at such time.. be the same thing? So we ended up waiting 45 minutes for a table. It was brunch day and we all decided to do the unlimited mimosas and Bellinis, was told it was $15 by the bartender, but actually got charged $17 + tax. Which is fine, still a lot cheaper than a lot of other places in south Florida and the Bellinis were amazing! But enough with my problems with the service. The food is really, really good. We started with a seafood tower (should be called the seafood plate tbh) very misleading name. It did not have that WOW factor, but everything on the plate was delicious and very fresh. I dont really recommend ordering this because for $70 it was not that much seafood. We tried the lollipop chicken wings, lobster Benedict, crab cake Benedict and a mahi sandwich. All of the entrees tasted super good. And that definitely did not disappoint. Overall, it was a good experience. It has a beautiful view of the beach and pier and a nice place to go for nice meal. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars, it's really due to the amount of misinformation I was given and the quality of the customer service could've been better. TLDR: Great beach side spot for a romantic dinner! I finally got the chance to check out this restaurant after having a gift card for it for about a year! Even though it was a drive for it was, it was well worth it based on the food and service that we got! Place: Located right on Deerfield Beach, this restaurant gives you all the beach vibes while still keeping it classy! They offer valet service and masks when you get inside and you're able to give a $1 donation to keep those masks available! They were practicing social distancing at the bar, with dividers every 2 chairs that could be moved depending on your group Service: We had an 8:45pm reservation but got there early because we were starving and they were able to seat us early! They have patio as well as indoor dining but the indoor dining still gives you great views of the beach! All tables had hand sanitizers which was great and everyone was wearing masks! Our server definitely knew the menu and was super friendly with us! Food: We ordered the burrata toast as an appetizer and it was AMAZING! It had little pearls of what i assume was fig that just exploded in your mouth for that sweet taste! For entrees, I had the scallop truffle risotto, which was mouthwatering and super tasty! My boyfriend had the snapper which was served with jasmine rice and coconut curry! So flavorful and super filling yet it wasn't a heavy meal! For dessert, we shared the chocolate trilogy, which wasn't as heavy of a dessert that we thought it would be! We got Jarrod as our waiter - and the dude is freaking amazing ; personality is perfection , amazing service , knowledgeable , and really makes you feel comfortable . Really had an amazing experience here - everything that came out of that kitchen was perfection!!!! ; started off with some exquisite raw oysters from the East and west coast - extremely fresh and delicious . Also had some calamari which again was flawless - the crunchiness and taste were spectacular . Then we were met with the main coarse - and holy Jesus were they good . Had the mahi mahi with coconut curry , friends had the salmon , and swordfish - and everything was cooked to perfection; exquisite flavors , texture , presentation . The biggest issue was the seemingly watered down drinks. Vodka Martini is supposed to be top shelf, but tasted like Aristocrat, rail, watered down. Mac n cheese was not creamy; more so dry. Me and my boyfriend come here often because we love to sit at the bar and enjoy the view. Normally we get the octopus and salad and other apps but this time we came for dinner, so i got the steak. It came out way undercooked / almost raw on the inside but as you can see in the pic the outside was charred. I got another and it still wasn't to temp for me but my boyfriend did eat it.
