My wife and I had dinner last night at Oceans 234 with close friends. It started off very good with the service and appetizers. That's when it kinda took a turn for the worse. When we received our dinners 2 of them were good. The 2 me and my buddy ordered actually the same dinner. He ordered his medium rare I ordered medium. When he got his the view was still moving. They took it back and brought it back still a tad undercooked but my friend who is super easy going ate it. The mashed potatoes that came with it honestly seemed like they were instant had that type of texture to them. As we finished eating my buddy turns to me and says the food was ok but really bland. I laughed and said I thought the same but didn't want to say anything. Also after our first round of drinks my buddy decided to order a different drink then his first one. He wanted a San gria like I had. Well when they brought his 2nd drink they brought him a drink like my wife was drinking. The manager and the waiter both actually wanted to sit there and contest what my friend had ordered. The waiter said my buddy pointed to my wifes drink. I then said it really does not matter where he pointed because I heard him say San gria. So really you want to dispute with a customer over a drink order rather than just bring him his drink. Not to mention for a place to claims and wants to be a upscale restaurant the men's bathroom smelt like a gas stations bathroom. The hand towel rack was ripped off the wall, My buddy told the waiter and manager about the conditions but yet they failed to do anything about the filthy bathroom. Will never return should have stayed with our first choice Houston's where they never fail to satisfy. read more

I gave it a 3 because the food was good and new decor very inviting; however, staff needs lots of training from the hostess to the waiters. Also on Valentine's night 2 of the 3 things we ordered out of the already very limited menu were not available. Very disappointing! read more

A large group of us had dinner here on Saturday night to celebrate a graduation. We had a great table on the patio just off the beach. It was a beautiful night. They allowed to decorate the table and bring in a cake, and didn't charge a cutting fee. The food was amazing. Best fried calamari I've ever tasted, crispy salad with just the right amount of dressing, and the pistachio crusted mahi mahi melted in my mouth. Perfectly cooked. Everyone in our party had a great time, and our waiter was very attentive. Definitely recommend for a special occasion. Can't wait to go back. read more

Our food was very good and the service was excellent. Fried calamari had a tasty set of ingredients, mussels in broth with Chorizo were excellent, the lobster salad was excellent. Overall very good, fresh, tasty food. My only negative was the incessant loud thumping of the bass from the music at JBs next door. I received a very positive note from them indicating that this issue was only on Sundays and that they were working to resolve it. I will go back because the food and service are excellent. The views are very good, with not too many places on the beach, this is nice. Wait staff good and prices ok. Food is only mediocre. Tropical sushi roll was fair and would not order again ....a small roll with only 2 small pieces of shrimp it was not worth $10 never mind $16. Although the salads looked good and were large my friends were not very happy with their ordinary salads. Mixed drinks were as expected $9 and $10. We would not go again. read more

Clearly people come here for the view because there's no way people come here for the amazing fish smell Oozing from the walls. The overly prices meals aren't worth the prestige of the dollar menu at McDonald's (I know because I had to stop there on the way home to eat)!The manager looked like he had just finished a 48 hour coke binge -athon and should have spent money on an iron for his shirt instead. But in all seriousness the wait staff is great. The food is completely inedible and the manager rips checks from women hands well smiling. So me and my girlfriend went here on a Sunday afternoon - it was not that packed and it was my first time here. Looked good - nice view of the beach when sitting outside but that was the only plus of this place! The service was horrible - slow, bad food, and horrible drinks. I'll start with the drinks - a hot IPA Beer and a horrible Mojito that tasted like medicine - we sent that back. Now for the food - We ordered a fried shrimp appetizer that was mush and looked like it came straight out of a frozen bag into the microwave - the only reason it even had flavor was the hot sauce that was on top. For our main course was two sushi rolls - one spicy tuna roll and a yellow tail tuna roll that was wrapped in nori that was fucking PINK - it looked like the gunk they make McDonald chicken nuggets with. We didn't finish the meal and the server was the worst - we were there for hour and a half and saw her twice! My advice if you enjoy good sushi and I should have known once I saw sauces all over the sushi it was going to bad - that white people rolled sushi if you know what I mean - don't eat here! Grab a bottled beer at the least and take in the view. This place doesn't even deserve a star - sorry but not sorry - get your place up to par or don't serve at all! $70 wasted! read more

I've first gave this place a great review. It then diminished a few years later. Now today, the first time I went there since the new renovation. Wow. As a regular I have to say this place went so downhill. Yes it's beautiful now. I love the atmosphere better than before. But it's horrible. And this is not only from me but a bunch of regulars that were there today. Each and every one of us had a horrible experience. The bartenders are horrible. 10 out of 10 of us had our drink messed up. To the point someone complained to management. On top of that we were there to watch the game and unless you're sitting literally at the bar you cannot see the screens. Where in the past you can sit outside and see all the tvs. Overall Service horrible. I didn't try the food but again the menu changed. Heard prices are crazy now. Didn't eat so I can't review the food. But all I hear is negative things. It's trying too hard to be upscale. But being a beach bar/restaurant you want it to be a chill atmosphere. Anything but. With all the complaining from other customers I hope they realize what they've done & fix it fast. read more

We had reservations for Easter and were seated right away at a table with a beautiful ocean view. I hadn't dined here since the ownership change and was looking forward to a great meal. I ordered chilean sea bass, as did one of the other guests at our table. The fish I received did not resemble or taste like any sea bass I've ever had. My friend said that she didn't think it was sea bass, and I agreed. Disappointed in my main course, but the appetizers and service were great. Wouldn't hurry back. read more

Great view and excellent food. We didn't know what to have so our server Clayton Hogg made two suggestions. First we had the pulled pork nachos. Wow who would think that would be good but it was excellent. Our second selection was the baby spinach salad with scallops and Brie cheese. I want to highly recommend Oceans 234 as a place to hold an event. It gets an A from my entire family. The setting is amazing - the patio is directly on the beach, and all the tables have an ocean view. The pictures on the web are on point - the venue is beautiful. Well beyond the setting was the customer service. The events manager, Kristin, was incredibly responsive through the entire process. From the first phone call, to signing the contract, to the actual event, Kristin took care of us. She was professional and kind and flexible. We had over 50 people for a Sunday Brunch to celebrate an 80th birthday and everyone (from age 9 to 90) had positive comments about the delicious food and great service. Ashley, Nicole and Ben took wonderful care of our party and no request was overlooked. Thank you to the entire staff who made our party a tremendous success. Amazing view and delicious food! But I ordered a mojito and it was the worst mojito I've ever had. Another person at the table next to me also ordered one and ended up sending it back. Not sure if it was the bartender that night but if I'm paying $14 for a mojito and its one of your speciality drinks it should be delicious! Amazing from start to finish. We had reservations and had a five minute wait past our reservation time- an indication that they weren't rushing folks out to meet the next table but were conscientious in their scheduling. The table was right on the walkway that runs along the beach- not the most private but in a wonderful area it was perfect to see families with children as well as couples and fisherman making the occasional stroll by. Our view was of the ocean and the lights of the pier, gorgeous at night. Our server, Michael B, was outstanding. He helped with the menu, helped find the right wine, and was incredibly attentive the whole meal through. Michael went so far as to 'warn' us that the salads we had ordered to start were actually meal size, so if we didn't realize how big they were we could readjust. We went with one salad for two to share and the one house salad was more than enough! The salad mix was fresh from the first bite, perfectly dressed. The meals were AMAZING. Filet mignon labeled as probably the best my husband (picky, PICKY husband!) has ever had. Cooked to perfection and tender as butter. I had shrimp scampi and it was fantastic. The pancetta and sliced cheese were so tasty (as a New Yorker I asked how on earth they got these flavorful Italian delights down here in south Florida!) and added such depth to the scampi. Our wine and water were always perfectly attended to, we hardly had to lift a finger our whole meal. We've been coming to Deerfield Beach for a long while now and haven't had a better date night meal EVER. A bottle of wine, shared salad and two market price entrees totaled $146. The meal was worth every penny, and add the setting and service and it feels like a STEAL! Must visit. Extra stars would apply if they were available!!! read more

Haven't been here since the reopen and it was beautiful inside. They did a really nice job. The service was good, the food was good. I had a fish ruben and my friend had salmon salad. The portions were a nice size and had a lot of flavor. We shared a fish dip which was really good! My only complaint was the prices were higher than I remembered. It was a pretty costly lunch. JB has the same view and good food the decor is not as impressive but if your looking to save a few bucks you might want to consider that as a choice. read more

I was hoping for a great experience and it was my first time there. Hostess was not friendly. My food (shrimp scampi) was cold, I sent it back and it came back cold AGAIN... when I say cold, I mean cold. Food was also tasteless. My crispy calamari was mushy. I heard the manager explaining they have a new chef, to another table that was complaining. When we left the restaurant, NOBODY said 'thanks for coming' or a goodbye. Service is good, view is killer. i wish i could give this place two ratings...the location = 5 stars. The food and service = 3 stars. We went here for lunch and the location is great. Watching people on the beach and the weather was great. I got a sandwich that was like a cuban. It was tasty but a little dry. For the price it thought it was just OK. My fiancee had a salad with shrimp. The shrimp were over cooked and not many came on the salad itself. If you want a place that has a great view and ok food...this is your place. read more

If a view of the beach ,or the incoming & outgoing tide is your thing... Oceans 234 is the place to be. The view includes a nearby 1/4 mile pier which charges $1 for entry... but for a good cause ...maintaining the "Costa del Sol- like" ambience of this beach setting. The service was prompt,polite and informative.The food was generally slightly better than generic beachside seafood( 3 to 4 star range) with nothing really bad or great...The prices are a bit high for those retirees on a budget...but expected for this type of setting.Parking is metered and will cost U an extra 5 bucks if U can figure out which meter buttons to push....not for people who normally would shy away from smart phones...I expect your grandchildren will figure it out if they are over 10. We enjoyed the so called heaping bowl of littleneck clams in a standard garlic ,herb and white wine sauce at $15.00 .We would have started with the raw oysters ....but at $34.00/doz...rejection was a no brainer unless they came with a pearl or two.The blackened dolphin sandwich on a sour dough roll was clearly 4 star.The fish chips were a bit better than standard...the fries and cole slaw were also better than generic. My biggest turnoff was the bathroom attendant....this is clearly an unnecessary device to separate U from another $1.00....I've always been able to zipper my own fly & find the paper towel dispenser...We will return....would give 234 ( 31/2 stars) if I could. read more

After management reached out and attempted to "make right" after my last visit, my dining companion, from that visit, and I, decided to give this place another shot. We went yesterday, for brunch, and had a delightful time. Our server, Siara, was lovely, attentive, and very friendly. Our food was delicious . . . calamari appetizer, baja fish tacos, and poached pear salad. We picked this place despite a low rating on Yelp because we wanted to eat somewhere on the beach. Beautiful restaurant, friendly and quick service. I ordered pistachio mahi mahi which was excellent as were the sweet potatoes and other vegetables that came with it. I ate the entire thing and felt great afterwards because it seemed like a relatively healthy meal. My husband got the lobster Mac and cheese which was good but not great. We sat outside and had a beautiful view of the ocean and enjoyed the breeze. Perfect Sunday lunch. read more

I've went to Deerfield Beach numerous times throughout the years, and never thought about eating here. We were a large party of 10, and we had reservations. Unfortunately, Deerfield was experiencing a power outage when we got there. Even with the outage, they still offered drinks and any cold seafood. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the beach. Once power returned, the waiters quickly took our orders. The food was good, but nothing special and it was a bit on the pricey side. read more
