The (big) cup of Oceans chowder was the one of the best this chowder fanatic's ever had. While my Chilean Seabass was a good 4/5, my partner's blackened Barramundi was pure 5-star delight. This is the best kept secret in the desert. The service is amazing, our waiter was perfect as well as ourbus person.! they are the real deal like restaurants when I was growing up. Make sure you make a reservation because they can get very busy in season. All the food is delicious. We have never had a bad meal there, but last night was particularly good. A 12 ounce lobster cooked perfectly.... Please patronize these people they deserve our service unlike so many of the restaurants that simply cater to vacationers, knowing full well they won't be back for a few years. My God, this was the worst experience I've ever had at a supposed "high end" restaurant. First of all the place smelled like fish right when I walked in. Not a good sign. Advertised pricing on Google is NOT accurate. I asked the manager to please charge me the Google menu advertised price of 17.99 for my meal, he said that's wrong it's more expensive than that. I asked are you going to charge me the advertised price or am I going to just go somewhere else? He said, no you can go. So I left. Won't be back. Went to Fisherman's Market and Grill literally Down the street and wayyyy big portions and didn't smell like fish upon entry. Thanks for the astoundingly awful service to a brand new customer and I hope lots of people see this review. The bald manager guy was absolutely horrendous to deal with. After the last 3 years of Cv-19, we have been very trepid about eating out because wherever we go everything in the hospitality industry seems lackluster. We took my parents to Oceans because they love seafood and we were pleasantly surprised! We have a 2nd home less than a mile away since 2004 and didn't know Oceans existed. The service, food and restaurant were so good!! We will def be back. I had the barramundi. My mate had the sand dabs piccata, my parents had the fried oysters and we all shared the Greek salad! Our waiter was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The dining room was clean and spotless. All the food was fresh. The Greek salad was a bit pricey but it was super fresh. For really good seafood cooked with love, you can't go wrong with Oceans! We will be back. read more

I had read the reviews, and didn't want to miss this place. They were gracious enough to take a reservation at lunchtime for one. While I was late for my reservation, they greeted me with a smile and gave me several choices for a table. The table were set just lovely. Pressed tablecloths and napkins. The place has great ambiance. Very cozy and charming. They quickly brought my chilled Riesling and have a generous pour that I appreciate along with a warm loaf of soft bread and garlic/basil infused oil. An excellent way to start off a meal while I listen to soft music playing. The outdoor seating is in front but surrounded by tall greenery for complete privacy but allows peeks of the mountains. I ordered Oceans pasta for my entree and it included mussels, clams, shrimp and scallops. After eating more bread than anticipated, I dug in. Definitely, lunch portions with one perfectly cooked scallop and prawn. But several mussels and clams. The broth was light and did not overpower the seafood. If you are a seafood lover, you will appreciate that you can actually taste how fresh the seafood is! I did add some Parmesan and some of the garlic basil oil as they only added to the flavors. This was my first visit in a group of 5 to celebrate a friend's birthday. We shared a couple of Appetisers including calamari and a platter of oysters. Both were delightful. In fact I could've ordered a bowl of the tomato sauce the calamari came in to have on it's own! As an entrée I had the blackened Barramundi, which was equally as good as the food which preceded it. We shared a few bottles of wine, which was selected from a varied wine list. Both were very enjoyable. Everyone fed back similar responses for their own dishes. The service was friendly, professional and attentive but not intrusive. Honestly, a 5 star review well earned. I can't wait to return again, and I am already spreading the word! read more

Our second and last visit to this attractive small restaurant. Our first visit was a delicious lovely dining experience. Last night two of our three meals mediocre with absolutely no taste to the entree or sides. Our indifferent waiter totally disappeared after serving our meal. My husband made us reservations for 630. We were there at 630. They walked us to this bench and told us to sit down while they got a table ready. They then proceeded to seat another couple that walked in maybe 10min after us. We looked at the owner (?) for an explanation and he said, "we're going to get this table ready for you" and motioned to a table that was occupied by a couple people that were hanging out, talking, having wine, with no sign of leaving any time soon. The menu is very good, especially the fish. I highly recommend the Seabass, which is not always available. This portion of fish was about 3 ounces. Not enough for dinner. The Wine menu is OK. However, stay away from ordering the house wine. You're better off buying wine at Walmart. Now let's talk about the service which is questionable. We have been there 6 times and consistently we've found that the servers are impatient and short fused. We understand that they are busy, but that's no excuse. read more

I would call this a hidden gem! My friend took me here. I had never heard of Oceans and I live 3 minutes away. The soft bread and delicious garlic oil they serve is addicting. I chose the calamari and my friend chose the lobster salad. Both were great. I was expecting the usual breaded and fried calamari, but this calamari had no breading just a nice spicy tomato sauce. Our main courses were the Cajun Ahi and the Swordfish. Both were delicious. My only suggestion would be that since every dish pretty much comes with the same sides, mashed potatoes and vegetables, to maybe offer a few sides that guests can choose. The service was attentive and professional and all the food came out in a timely manner. I definitely will be returning and I definitely will be spreading the word. read more

Thank you Oceans (760) 324-1554 now open & available Tuesday to Sunday. Next best thing to eating there As a NY born foodie and this is simply the best seafood restaurant in the desert period. After their summer break they have come back even better. That's impossible but true. Their crab-lobster bisque is amazing. My only problem is deciding which main course dish to choose. Delicious and healthy. Thank you. Their service throughout and attention to customer satisfaction is at the heart of these fine restauranteurs. They love what they are doing and somehow even at these incredibly fair prices are giving the desert a very successful dining experience. I'm sure the modest location helps with the low price and does not sacrifice the lovely and yet romantic ambiance. read more

Despite the many rave reviews, we were pretty disappointed. This was a celebration of a visiting friend's major birthday. The service was a little slow. The specials were not posted with their prices, nor did the waiter offer the prices. I ordered braised octopus and was shocked to see it cost $45 on the bill. I would never have ordered that at that cost. Should I have asked? It is frankly embarrassing to do so in front of guests. The food was actually mediocre - the octopus, paella, and bouillabaisse - all three. My sides were mashed potatoes and what seemed like steamed, bland vegetables. Not worth $45! We each had a caesar's salad, one of us had one glass of wine, and those three entrees - coming to $175. Even our birthday guest said, well, I appreciate the thought but the restaurant was not so good. Embarrassing for us. We will not go back. read more

Everything is wonderful! The food, service, ambience, and most importantly price. It was my partner's birthday dinner. We had steamed clam, tiny clams, but juicy and fresh, sautéed oysters in spicy cream sauce was so delicious!! We often have raw oysters, but taste wise it's as good or better! Shiitake stuffed ravioli was good, but tomato sauce killed all mushrooms flavor. Sauce was great, but shiitake and must have their own presence. Prawns dish was fresh and large with potatoes, steamed veggies. For shrimp lovers it is to die for. I dropped my cardigan on the way to our car and somebody picked up and left at the restaurant. We tried 5 entrees, soup, and calamari- all but the bouillabaisse were excellent. That was overly salted, not traditional, and not really a pleasing broth. All other dishes were fantastic! Service is beyond excellent- especially considering how staffing shortages have deteriorated the restaurant experience for all of us lately. This was truly so special and enjoyable to be greeted warmly, to discuss a chalkboard of specials with an informed server (instead of a QR code!!!), to have cloth napkins and linger around the table with cherished family members. We will definitely plan a dinner or two here on every visit to Palm Springs. Thank you to all the staff, both kitchen and front of house.
