I did my homework and reached out to a few contractors, including Gominisplit, to collect some quotes. I met with several other contractors, who did not show up to estimate appointments, were blatantly rude, and tried to upsell me things I did not need. Jose was a gem. He responded quickly to my inquiry and was punctual for my home walkthrough as well as all visits thereafter. He made sound recommendations and provided a competitive and fair estimate. I hired him because he was honest and easy to work with. He speaks English and Spanish, which was helpful because my dad speaks Spanish and he's the one who mainly coordinated with Jose. He worked very quickly with one other person and had our three bedrooms and living room area up and running in a couple of days. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs minisplits for their home. I'm sleeping nice and cool these days and we're ready for the summer!

Turns out, it wasn't the A/C, but it was the insulation in the attic. They checked the refrigerant level and thermostat, and they even crawled in the attic in this heat. Remarkably, they did all this spending over 2 hours without any charge. Although I am thankful that A/C does not need any repair, I feel really bad for Theodore and Jose who had to do the work for free. I love and appreciate their honesty and hard work. Definitely not substandard quality. Definitely not "Mickey Mouse" work. *2019 - I had new air conditioner ducts installed, because the old one had asbestos. Although I was informed that as long as you do not touch the asbestos, it was "safe", I decided to replace the ducts. *July 10, 2020 - GC HEATING & COOLING installed a new AC system *Jan. 19, 2021 - GC HEATING & COOLING adjusted the offset pressure at gas valve because it was not working. *Feb. 12, 2021 - GC HEATING & COOLING had to replace the inducer motor. *August 9, 2024 - I posted a bad review of GC Heating & Cooling on YELP. The owner, GUSTAVO CANO, reached out to me, and we discussed my issue. He convinced me, that the reason I was having problems with my unit, was because I did not agree to allow him to replace the ducts. He said the solution to my complaint, was for him to replace the ducts. *August 15, 2024 - GC HEATING & COOLING replaced my ducts, and I paid them $5,200.00. I took down the bad review on YELP. *September 17, 2025 - I called Gustavo Cano about issues, and he was visibly upset, and combative. He said he was coming, but that he would charge me if my complaints were unfounded. He never showed. My issues are the following: 1. The strap of the duct fell off. 2. SEALP Plenum duct sealing - NOT FULL SYSTEM 3. Type of Ducting/Condition : MYLAR not sealed. My AC system was installed July 10, 2020, six (6) years ago. Now, apparently, it has a leak. My old YORK air conditioner was twenty (20) years old when I had it replaced. It never broke down. I religiously have my unit cleaned, and turned up yearly by professionals. I only have POSITIVE comments for Ector and his company based on the factors below. 1) Unlike other AC companies, AC Bros gave free estimate to come out to inspect my AC unit. His company is located in South Gate, CA, but Ector did come out to my home in Irvine, CA to inspect my AC unit. 2) Ector's valuable and positive customer service, including HONESTY, FRIENDLY, QUALITY, KNOWLEDGEABLE, ATTENTIVE, TIMELY, AND PROFESSIONAL. 3) Ector also mentioned that four screws on my AC unit was missing when he did the inspection. He offered to put the screws back on, if I have them. I told him that I did not know what happened to those screws since my AC unit was inspected by another technician with another company. Ector was my technician in July 2026. He texted me when he was on his way to my house. He was very thorough in checking my AC unit which located on the side of the house under very hot weather in the mid 90 degree and the furnace unit located inside the garage. After he completed his inspections on the AC unit & a furnace unit, checked on the registers inside my house, and then turned on some electrical switches that were turned off by a technician with another company a week ago, Ector did confirm that NOTHING was wrong with my AC unit. After Ector's quality service, MY AC UNIT IS CURRENTLY WORKING VERY WELL NOW. Our family is very glad that I called AC Bros to inspect our AC unit. As a small token of appreciation for Ector's time. efforts, HONESTY, and quality customer service, I did give him some money for the gas since he came from Southgate to Irvine. About one week before I called AC Bros, I did call another AC company that I used in the past. That particular AC company did charge me $49 with a loyalty discount ($99 normal charge) for their technician to come to my house to do the similar inspection on my AC unit, like what Ector did. The technician with another company said it can cost me over 10K to repair my AC unit or around 25K - 30K to replace my AC unit due to the age of my AC unit.
