My fiancé and I love Thai food and always make an effort to try new spots around Vegas. We recently tried Ocha Thai which is located on Las Vegas Blvd near the Arts District. Thankfully there is ample parking, which is a huge plus for be area. Being a Wednesday evening, it was pretty empty but they have a large dining area and a lounge with a stage near the entrance. I assume they have live music occasionally. Our waiter was very attentive, almost too much as he checked on us multiple times in a matter of minutes asking if we were ready to order. After scouring the menu, we opted for the Shrimp with Pepper Sauce and the Mixed Vegetables with Shrimp. Spice level we went with 8 and 9 respectively. I found my spice to be perfect (9), my fiance thought the 8 was a little mild. The flavor of both of our dishes was great though! The pepper sauce was deep and well developed, while the sauce in the mixed vegetables was good but paled in comparison. This place came highly recommended by my mom, and Mom is rarely wrong when it comes to her taste in food. She's not even a local here like I am now, but she has decades of experience coming to Vegas for conventions and this is one of her go-to places for Thai. Service was quick and good, lots of tables. Disposable chopsticks. Free soda refills. We ordered a few Thai iced teas (7/10 - a bit watered down), Lao-style papaya salad (6/10 - Mom said it was saltier today than the last few times she had it), large Tom yum soup (8/10 - generous chicken pieces but def more on the sour side), Thai beef jerky (6.5/10 - I wasn't a fan but more than half of our table liked it), crying tiger steak (7/10 - had a few fatty chewy pieces that were not consumable, had to spit out), pad Thai (9/10), pad kra pow with minced pork (9/10), and yellow curry (9/10). They have another location closer to where we live so we def want to try that one out sometime. Stopped by during the week. The parking lot is dark, and I would recommend lighting up the area more due to the location. We walked in and waited by the host stand because it was roped (blocked) off. Went to this spot out of convenience and we were pleasantly surprised! Got some papaya salad Thai style, Tom kha chicken and tofu drunken noodles. This is another regular spot that we visit in Las Vegas especially for Thai food. We came in on 7-4-2024 around 9pm and not crowded and able to be seated. The food is always amazing and did not disappoint. The Tom Kha is a personal favorite of ours and is so good. Chow Mein with crab meat was amazing along with sweet and sour chicken. Thai food here is authentic and the portion is huge. Each dish could easily feed two people so be mindful of your orders. There's free thai tea upon check in. The pad Thai is pretty good. I like that it's not too salty. However, the chicken slices are hard to bite. The drunken noodles are delicious. You can customize the spicy level and my friend got level 7 and it was fire. I forget Thai chili is next level spicy. The noodle texture is good and they give a nice amount of chicken and vegetables. The Tom kha soup is tangy and quite refreshing. They give a lot of shrimp. I like that it comes out in pot of flame. It's our first time experiencing that so it's fun to eat. The reason I'm giving 3 stars is the unpleasant service. The female and male staff took turns serving our table but they both showed an unwelcoming demeanor. They made us verify the Yelp check-ins multiple times and kept staring at our table as they talk between themselves. I've been coming here for 30 years and it has changed through the years. It has most totally changed since I was here last year. I like that they now have a dinner special for the Thai Chinese options and I had the ginger chicken and it tasted fine. I used to come once a year, but I think I'm ready to explore the other Thai restaurants in the Vegas area when I come to town. LOVE this restaurant for takeout orders! I only have 30-minutes for lunch, and I am elated that I can order ahead online. Luckily the drive is only 6-minutes one way from my office. My favorite item is Pad Woon Sen, which is stirred fried green bean thread (clear noodle) with choice of meat & vegetables. I have had the tofu PWS, as well as chicken PWS. The dish has always been phenomenal. The spices & flavors are perfect with al dente noodles, along with fresh ingredients. The portion size is generous, so I literally get two days of lunch w/ one purchase! The Pad Woon Sen is not the only good deal from their extensive menu, the fish cake appetizer also comes with a great portion. The other item I've tried was the Tom Jued soup - pork & tofu (veggies as well) soup in clear broth. I love how the broth is not overly salty, since I have had similar soup from other Thai restaurants that were way too salty. I so look forward to trying more items next time. The Asian lady that works behind the counter is very amicable too. Got some discount coupons from my stay at Super 8 so I went to check this place out. I ordered 2 lunch specials; chicken pad thai and chicken chow mein (no coupons allowed for lunch specials which is ok by me, but didn'thurt to ask). I ate the pad thai and the chow mein was for my boyfriend. Chicken pad thai was a 5. I've had way better. The color was off. I'm used to being able to see the tamarind sauce on the noodles, and it was a bit greasy. The portion was kind of small too, but I'm guessing it was because it was a lunch special, which is understandable. I did enjoy the salad (iceberg with a few carrot shavings) after putting a portion of the tiny serving of egg roll sauce on it. The egg roll was crispy on the outside and mushy on the inside, but edible. They also gave me a big scoop of white rice and 1 piece of fried wonton skin. Rice was basic,, but good.. wonton skin was tasty when dipped into that same tiny container of egg roll sauce. I asked for sliced chiles. They gave me 2, frozen. So I didn't get to use them. I will say that the thai iced teas was so delicious and they give you a really big cup of it! My boyfriend was too drunk and passed out to tell me what the chicken chow mean tasted like, so I can't speak on that. He's still knocked out as I write this. The lady who took my order was pleasant and the wait for the food was only like 10 minutes. They charge a 4% surcharge when you pay debit/credit. They were also doing a promo on Thai tea which I love for BOGO free which I love. I ordered Drunken noodles with tofu at spice level 2 because I've had experiences where the spice level was way higher than the number indicated.
