The tech they sent spent an hour looking around, trying to find the problem. He said he couldn't solve it but we still got charged $411. He said he would have to send someone else. Any estimate for the job? No - he couldn't even make an estimate. When I called Adam, he said they would send a more experienced tech. Why not send someone qualified the first time? What about the charge for showing up and not doing anything? "That's our normal fee?" So, will we be charged for a new estimate? "It's still $250 to show up." Really? I told him we didn't want them anymore and we would like at least a partial refund. He agreed to a refund of $125, but the refund didn't come. I called again and he said they had a miscommunication. Now it would be sent. Still no refund ... We found a new person, a handyman - he said it was challenging, but he found the broken connection and he only charged us $250. Mirsky? Never again ...

Because the cost was likely to be high, I emailed Daniel to ask for the range of the cost. He then offered to come to my house to give me a free estimate. If you have ever called any electricians, you should know most electricians bill based on trip charge (basic fee) plus labor time and material. Even they do nothing, they still charge for just showing up at the door. I was very happy that Daniel was willing to come out to give me a free estimate. This just makes him distinguishable from other electricians. He gave me a very detailed estimate. The price was reasonable, so I accepted it. Later I told him that I might need to replace an indoor outlet as it's loose. He offered to do it for free! What a wonderful customer service! Moses was the one who actually showed up to do the work. He's very polite and friendly. He explained to me his work. He was very patient with me when I didn't understand his explanation. He was great to work with. He also cleaned up after his work. His work showed a very good quality. I would highly recommend Strands Electric. Of course, whenever I need someone to do some electrical work, I will call Strands Electric.

He acted professionally, and he even let me watch him install the new breakers. My only minor concern is he only hand tightened the screws "good and tight", instead of tightening them according to the 36(inch pounds) specification that was written on the breaker installation instructions, and on the new breakers themselves, when he installed the new breakers. Karlin said that this is the common practice among electricians and that very few, if any, bother to follow the inch pound torque standard when tightening circuit breakers. Also, it would have required use of a special expensive inch pound torque wrench that must undergo annual inspection and certification. (What a pay cut! Ouch!) These facts for now allay my concern enough that I can see myself hiring this firm again to do electrical work for me in the future. I say this especially since Karlin was an easy person to work with.

As the price was too good, I called the company to confirm the quote was accurate. I explained the issue to the receptionist again over the phone, and she told me it's gonna be quoted price for sure. On the day of the appointment, the electrician told me the $79 was just the trip fee, and the actual cost to fix the problem was going to be another $169. I told him my communication with the receptionist over the phone, but he simply said a receptionist can't quote for him and when I rejected the price, he left. I then called the company to talk with the receptionist about the incidence, she flat out denied ever telling me the price was $79. UPDATE: after putting up this review, I called the company again, telling them I have the screenshots of their " flat rate" quote. The company asked me to send them a photo of the screenshot and they will investigate and get back to me.I did. I didn't hear back until today, seeing bel-Red's unapologetic response below. I hired them and they completed the wiring and panel update but a little over a year later I started having intermittent flickering lights all around my house, I called them and they sent a tech out but the issue persisted over the next 3 months. The 3rd electrician that came out was Jon, he found the loose wire and fixed the issue under warranty with no issues. He told me my meter was outdated as the requirements changed about a year ago but it's not something I need to replace right now so he waited for a tech to come out so he could explain what needs to be replaced and I could get a quote without any confusion. Jon was great, my experience with As You Wish has been great even with the hiccup because I want to work with companies that offer good work with professionalism and stand by their warranty. They are my go to and I will always recommend them to friends and family.
