My husband and I first time at the restaurant was last night. We came in at 9:00 we received EXCELLENT service from Kenya our server!! The food was not only reasonably priced but was prepared to PERFECTION!!! I had half pound shrimp and half pound snow crab legs. ( with potatoes, corn and I added sausages for an additional $2)everything was seasoned "just right" not too salty. The shrimp was not tough or chewy. My husband ordered the basket of choose three. He enjoyed his food as well. They gave him generous size of whiting and catfish and shrimp. We had fried shrimp as an appetizer they were amazing! They were not loaded with bread, you could actually taste the shrimp, at the very first bite! What I liked the most about the shrimp is they were NOT greasy!! The presentation of the food was also on point!! Presentation is everything! Of course we couldn't eat it all so we had to go boxes. I can't wait to eat my leftovers!!!! Best fried shrimp in Savannah! We just left O.D. Seafood, and nobody left hungry. Local seafood co-op shrimp is fresh, and perfectly fried. Oysters do not come from the local co-op, and it shows. Husband will go for more local shrimp next time and skip the oysters. Decor is wood with lots of metal decorations reminiscent of a ships interior. No loud music. The wait staff is obliging and helpful, but not intrusive. Portions are quite large. I could finish only half of my perfectly cooked shrimp. It was delicious, so my husband finished it for me, although his platter was more than enough. The shrimp is just that good. Go there before everyone finds out how great this new restaurant is. There hasn't been any advertising while the employees are getting the routine down. Once they get the beer and wine license, advertisement will begin and the restaurant should be packed. I'm going to make this very simple. This is the best low country boil I've ever had. I ordered the Louisiana boil with Cajun seasoning. I've been to Louisiana and this Cajun sauce is as good as it gets. The seafood is fresh but I will come back for the Cajun sauce. I'm not sure how they came up with some of these recipes but if they keep serving food like this, they will have a line out the door soon. Don't pay attention to some of the poor reviews, I couldn't find anything wrong with this place and I don't hand out 5-star reviews often. Oh and one other thing, my wife ordered the fried shrimp basket. My wife grew up in Brunswick, Georgia so she knows fried shrimp. Yesterday morning around 11, I'd decided to sit and have a couple of beers before making my way back across town. The restaurant had just opened so I'd expected the service to not be as great since I was an early bird. The bartender Mikyla not only kept beers coming and recommended I try the calamari for a appetizer because she said it was a little early for beer with no food ;) but also kept up a conversation with me since it was only me and her in the restaurant at the time. Holy cow what a find! If you get to Savannah dig this place up. It's near Hunter AAF field, buried in a strip mall. I have now reached the tender age of 79 and have had scrumptious seafood all over the U.S. and in many many places abroad. You will have a very hard time finding something better than this place. It's not expensive or classy, but you will be pleased with the vittles. Leave your coat and tails home, wear your most comfortable jeans and raggedy ass shirt, and dive in. You won't regret it. I'm from out of town! I decided to stop in and get some food. I ordered a bag with just sides Potato's,sausage and eggs. The eggs were the best thing! Everything else was super oiley and unflavorful. I also had the swai fish dinner with fries! I almost had a stroke from to much salt on the fries. The fish was pretty good! Lastly my carbonated drink was flat.would I recommend? I will be back again and again not only because the food and price is above average, It's 90% because the staff and the Manager Sabrina set the stage. The roll was fresh, the crab cake was fine but I've had better. Side of coleslaw was good, not overly mayo-y. Limoncello cake was ok but was probably frozen from a box. Overall, A-J's is pretty average. Nothing was bad, but there's no wow factor either. Still, it's worth a visit to dine with the sunset view.

The service was inconsistent from the start. The hostess seemed distracted and lacked the basic customer service skills I'd expect as the first impression. It wasn't very busy (a Wednesday evening), but our first waitress was slow and seemed scatterbrained. A second waitress then tried to deliver drinks we never ordered before a third waitress eventually took over and stayed with our table. The fried green tomatoes were good, but not worth the price in my opinion. The cheese bread dip was definitely unique, though not something I'd order again. I ordered the filet mignon, and while it was decent, it wasn't memorable enough to justify the cost. Someone in our party ordered the shrimp and grits and was given a coated cardboard takeout container, which felt odd considering the price point of the restaurant. The waterfront scenery is beautiful and was honestly the highlight of the evening. Inside, however, the restaurant was fairly plain with wooden beams, basic wooden furniture, and dim lighting. Overall, the experience simply didn't match the reputation or the prices. With so many other great seafood restaurants in the area, I don't see myself returning.

You can tell that the seafood (and the oil it was fried in) is fresh and clean. Words cannot express how good my meal was.
