Great spot for dinner with friends We had a party of 5 and were seated promptly. Nice table and although busy we had good service. Started with the shishito peppers and the charcuterie. Peppers weee terrific. Some heat and a combo of red and green. The platter was a little sparse and has a couple of mortadella pieces good salami and a few pieces of cheese. Ok but. It great. Although the truffle cheese was delicious We also had the lettuce salad and it was lightly dressed and refreshing. Scallops were enjoyed by all. I tried the tomatoes and the corn - it was creamy and fresh. Good crunch and delicious. We share a margarita pizza. Nice tomato and as pizza should be - thin crust! The pastas were the Arabiata and the pappardelle with ragu. Both had a lot of flavor and pasta was cooked perfectly. The tomato was plentiful in the arabiatta. Well flavored. Ragu was good - mushrooms and pork worked well together. Overall a good experience. We will return. read more

Oenotri has a fantastic location in downtown Napa, right in the heart of everything. We grabbed dinner here before catching a show at the Uptown Theater, which is only a couple blocks away. The ambiance is perfect for a date night, a family gathering or a nice meal out with friends. My husband and I decided to split a pizza so we wouldn't have to carry leftovers with us to our show. We split the fico pizza with the thinnest slices of smoked ham I've ever seen, figs, cheese, walnuts and balsamic. Soooo good. I'm selfishly writing this review so I can remember what to order again next time! The portion size was perfect for two people to share. We paired our dinner with wine by the glass. I ordered the 2021 pelaverga from an Italian winery called Castello di Verduno. It smelled deliciously of strawberries. My husband got a 2015 cab from Calistoga's Clandestine. We had brunch here with friends while we were exploring downtown Napa. We know that some movies and shows featured this food spot, so we know we had to try it. They had outdoor and indoor seating and both areas were cozy, we sat outside because it was a lovely day. They have a lot of good items on their menu, including the chef's specialty for that day - we tried their salads, pizza, pasta, and some of the chef's specialty. We were mind-blown by how good they all were, you know that the pasta and made fresh, and even the pizza are curated with fresh ingredients. We tried some of their wine and cocktails and we enjoyed all of them. Our server was amazing, she was friendly, had a great sense of humor, and was attentive to all our needs. She made great recommendations on the food (especially the dessert), places she recommends that we go to in the area (since we were in Napa visiting), and even accommodated some of our requests on the food items since we are a party of 5 and others have dietary restrictions. I came here with my friends for a bachelorette party, and it was the worst experience I have had in Napa! We waited 30 minutes for someone to take our drink order. When someone finally greets us, she explicitly said "I am not your server." It took over 20 minutes to get plates and bread. We spoke with the manager and his excuse was they only had two waitresses that night. (Not our problem) I would not recommend coming here. Overpriced food with awful service. Yum! This place was recommended by our sommelier at Opus One, as an upscale Italian place. We enjoyed the food here, and service was great too. The ambience was pretty down to earth, but nice. It was cool to see the open kitchen and chefs at work. I loved their pappardelle ragu pasta. Literally ate every bite. My husband has the shrimp ravioli which was also good, and we shared the focaccia bread (which was okay). Good Italiano spot in downtown Napa! We went to dinner here with a group of friends and we had a great time. The ambiance was great and the food was good. We ordered a pizza for the table and it was delicious. (Gotta add the chili sauce, it was fire quite literally) My wife and I ordered two different pastas and split them. My pasta (pictured below) was better than hers (she got a seafood pasta) so I forgot we were supposed to split it and I ate it all myself which did not bode well for me but we survived the evening. Good thing we had a reservation because we overheard someone get turned away that didn't have a reservation! We went a few days after Christmas so it was busy and was hard to get a hold of our waiter. We did have to ask two different servers for the drink menu which was a bit annoying and turns out we order from an iPad. The food was okay, we've had better. The highlight was sitting near the pizza oven and watching the guy throw around the dough to make pizza :) I don't think we will be back as there are other places with better food and service. read more

While I used to be a regular Oenotri customer, I recently returned after not visiting for over a year. I ordered everything that I used to love, but sadly each course fell short of what it used to be and my expectations. The simple mixed green salad used to be perfection but this time I had to pick out wilted pieces of lettuce. If a salad is literally just lettuce and lemon olive oil dressing then the lettuce has to be perfect. This wasn't. The pork ragu was better than passable, but it used to be outstanding. Now, the lumache pasta shape itself seems smaller and it was undercooked. I've also been eating outstanding pasta lately at other spots like Belotti in Oakland, Cotogna in SF, and Glen Ellen Star in Sonoma, so this simply didn't stand up. Lastly, the cocktail was not balanced at all and what should've been a spirit-forward classic cocktail tasted entirely of lemon juice. Is this the new norm, or an off-night? Honestly, I'm not going to hurry back to figure it out. I guess my 4 star rating is an average of my numerous good previous visits and my most recent average one. read more

We were visiting napa to unwind and have a good time. We decided to roll the dice and check this place out. We had no expectations and we even thought about skipping our reservation because we were more than 15 minutes behind. I am SO GLAD that we saw it through to see if they'd take us. To our surprise there was a few open tables and it wasn't too packed. A big party was there and a few couples at tables. The decor is very sleek and modern with big windows for people watching off the main street. The first and last thing I want to mention is the fantastic service that we got from our waiter Roberto. I won't say that the place is super authentic Italian because I'm no expert but Roberto seemed like an expert and knew everything that we would like. The chappellet mountain cuvè was such a delicious selection that even a non red drinker would appreciate. We started with some fococcia bread which wasn't exactly what we expected. Kinda hard around the edges compared to the soft rosemary bread we hoped for but overall it wasn't bad at all. The pork belly carried the meal to a better place leading us to the best pasta that I may have ever eaten. It had caviar and a freshly cracked egg that you have to mix in immediately to get the full experience. I had dreams about this pasta days later. , it was so good. We also ordered an order of lamb and polenta. The polenta checked out as legit and the lamb was perfect in slices but the second form on the plate wasn't as great but not bad at all. We didn't have room for dessert but we were persuaded to give this place more opportunities to wow us even further. We were torn between 2 options and after telling Roberto our conundrum, he quickly grabbed our menus and ran off in a very animated way. By that, we knew that he wouldn't steer us wrong. We ended up with their world renowned creme puffs. With a crispy shell topped with caramel and pistachio and a soft creme center. Roberto told us that everybody asks what is the secret and he tells them that he has no clue because the magic is a secret. And it is definitely sorcery put into these gems of deliciousness lol. Oenotri came into play for me as my buddy Rory Solis is a bartender there. I completely trust Rory to curate my experience whenever I'm lucky enough to be in town! The restaurant itself is nice & spacious, and the bar is one-of-a-kind with rare liquors and mixers. I make it a point to be there right when the restaurant opens, as I know it's a popular place to enjoy great eating & drinking. The pasta dishes Rory recommends are astounding, as are the specialty cocktails he makes. Whenever I'm in Napa, I'll have One Big Meal each day, and Oenotri is now in my regular rotation. :-) read more

If you like the smell of smoke and like smelling of smoke when you leave you'll love this place. The chef was cooking a rack of lamb out front on the sidewalk to attract instagram photo takers. Every now and then she would use the front door, where the rotisserie was placed, to return to the restaurant, letting smoke in. I have dry eyes and my eyes were so red and watering when we left. The food was good, for pasta, but way overpriced for the amount you were served. They should really think about how to improve plating the pasta. It must have been the waiters first day. We have always appreciated the kitchen drivers Tyler has let loose over the years. today was beyond what any diner could desire in responsiveness and attention to an á minute request. The food was really good and that's the only reason why I even gave 1 star. Our server Ashlin P. Was horrible!! From the time we were seated she was not pleasant. Out of four people (2 couples) she forgot to put in 2 meals. 2 of us had to eat our food so it didn't get cold while the other 2 sat there waiting for theirs to come. It was clear she didn't put their order in. She acted like she missed a pizza order but it was obvious she missed both a pizza and another meal. She kept forgetting my husband's wine. While we waited for the other meals to come she asked one of us if he would like another beer (did not offer to compensate it for the delay). We were all done eating and we had already asked for the check when she walked by and said that my husband's wine is coming. We asked for the wine while we were still waiting for the other meals to come. I had to go to the bar to tell her we did not want to wait for it as we were done and would just like the check. Wonderful experience at Oenotri! While in Napa for a bachelorette trip, the group made reservations for Oenotri for our first night out in Napa. Our table was ready for us as soon as we arrived, and service was quick & friendly. The vibes are trendy & classy, yet super homey. I could see the kitchen from our seat which was super neat and ensured me that the food coming out was freshly made! We all ordered a round of cocktails to start - I ordered an espresso martini, which isn't on the menu, but they were super quick to say that they can of course make one! One of the best espresso martinis I've had! For food, we decided to split an appetizer and a bunch of different pastas. We got burrata and nearly every pasta option on the menu at the time and they were all so unique & flavorful! Definitely recommend this spot for either a ladies night out or a date night! read more

Let me just say--the ambiance of Oenotri is superb! As you walk into the restaurant, it feels as if you walked into a private club or speakeasy. It's classy yet homey with the brick walls and hanging plants. You are immediately greeted by the guest with a smile. We were shown to our table and was offered a variety of drinks from alcoholic to non-alcoholic. The menu changes every day and includes ingredients straight from their garden. The only downside of an every day changing, is the amount of paper being used :( but the food was so fresh and delicious. We ordered the pesto pasta and margarita pizza. The pine nuts complimented the pesto perfectly. Although the pizza could of used a little more cheese or basil, it satisfied our taste buds to a T! Especially with the pesto from the pasta beside it. I would highly recommend Oenotri after a day of wine tasting or browsing through downtown Napa. read more

Shout out to the female brunette managing the outdoor patio. She had excellent recommendations for dishes, wine pairings, and knew about Food: fresh and flavorful. We ordered the following: Brussel sprouts - we gobbled these up as soon as they were served. Delicious! Pesto pasta - ultra fresh and light pasta with burrata. Note: I was a little disappointed with the size of the burrata. I've had pasta dishes topped with burrata in the past and other places are more generous. It honestly felt like 1/3 of a burrata was placed on my pasta, so somewhat sad moment. Chocolate panna cotta - you need to get this and if your date is lucky, they will order their own. I ordered something that resembled a pesto pasta. It even looked good, until I realized the pasta itself is green...the sauce was nowhere to be found. There was a drip of it here and there, but when you take a bite of pasta and all you can taste is just pasta (no sauce)...no bueno. The hubby had some other pasta that had corn in it. He also said it was plain as could be. The little sauce his had was bland as well. The only saving grace was the meatballs we ordered as a side dish. The sauce was so sharp, the glands on the side of my jaw cried. The meat was an interesting texture...different sized pieces inside the meatball. A very "rustic" meatball. I know I said saving grace...that meatball actually added some flavor to our pasta. Thus, saving grace. It must be said, I enjoy and appreciate delicately flavored food. So, that wasn't the issue here. We were truly disappointed that our food was just so bland. It's as if they ran out of S&P, garlic, olive oil, parmesan cheese, and herbs in the kitchen. read more

We enjoyed Oenotri after a day of wine tasting! Our original reservation was for 8pm because we decided last minute on the location but we got hungry early. Thankfully they were able to accommodate two early in their outdoor patio. We ordered the mixed lettuces salad and focaccia! Both are great for sharing. I wish the bread would have had herbs baked within or was served with a flavored olive oil. It was good but lacking a bit in flavor. For dinner I had caccio Pepe and my friend had the mezzaluna. This has been in my collection to try and I finally got to go. We were too tired to enjoy our dinner as best we could, but we did get fantastic meatballs. The pizzas were not as good as I hoped. The margarita one tasted like thin crusted bread with lots of sauce, hardly any cheese. The 2nd pizza was ok, wasn't thrilled with toppings. The best part of the pizza was the crust though. Pizza was hot and nice thin crust. Need to go back to try again. Service was good. Servers came to check up on us, so that's always a good thing. We must've driven up and down 1st Street a hundred times and passed by Oenotri with its unassuming location. It was a warm day in Downtown Napa so stepping into Oenotri was a refreshing oasis. We started our lunch with a glass of pinot noir and their Classic Bowman. We were on a mission to find a wood fired pizza, so we opted for the Margherita pizza. And because we were also tasting some pasta, we asked if they could also put together a Cacio e Pepe. For one I would say that that this restaurant was very accommodating for our off-season ask. But it wasn't the greatest. It was more of a salt lick than anything. The saving grace of the meal was the Margherita pizza. Simple, delicate and just plain perfect. We came here for a celebration of a friend's bday. We had reservations for a party of 6, we were sat right away. Now keep in mind the menu changes daily so it doesn't matter if you look in here or if we post the menu because when you come it will be different. There is no meals with chicken, only produce they offer is sausage. Wasn't seeing anything that caught my eye on the menu so the server asked us usually what do we like and order. We I formed her Alfredo sauce and server said we can make you Cacio de Pepe with sausage. Not in the menu but she could have them make us it, I agreed with no hesitation. Friends ordered 2 margarita pizzas to share. Now something happened to the pizzas, everyone at the table got their meal but them; not sure if it was the kitchens mistake or the servers but boy did she make up for it, she gave us every appetizer on the menu at no cost to make up for the mistake and provided my friend another glass of red wine. I would definitely want to come back but the only hesitation is that the menu changes daily and with no chicken... but the sausage was pretty good, even though I'm not a fan of it. read more
