I love Ofelias. When you walk in you're greeted with the aroma of freshly baked bread. I've never been dissapointed with any of my meals. I would eat here everyday but I don't want to get sick of it, it's THAT good. The turkey is excellent but I get the crab melt with swiss cheese added--YUM. We were just passing through this town on our way to San Francisco and decided to get lunch. The people were friendly and it was probably one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Really tasty, healthy, and the bread is amazing. I would definitely come here again if I was ever in the area. The only complaint I have which is hardly a complaint at all is that it has a very Christian vibe, there's pamphlets and bibles laying around. This place is small but amazing! The owners are very hospitable, making me feel as if they've always known me. I had a Ruben sandwich, I couldn't help but eat the whole sandwich. I love that they pack their sandwich's with lots of fresh veggies like, sprouts, avocado, cucumber, onion etc. I would rather pay the extra few dollars for one of these homemade sandwiches than save a buck or two on an ordinary Subway sandwich. Love this place. All sandwiches are made with really good wheat bread that is baked fresh in house daily. The soups are simple and not overly seasoned. Very fresh. Tastes OK but kinda measly and the longest wait I've ever experienced for a sandwich, which is surprising because of all the hustle and bustle behind the counter, while something comes up ready maybe once every five minutes. The sandwiches are a tad overpriced. It's $9 for a normal sized sandwich on sliced wheat. I ordered the lentil meatloaf sandwich, which I thought was going to be hot, since I haven't heard of serving cold meatloaf. It was fine, except the meatloaf portion of the sandwich needed more seasoning. The veggies and bread were very fresh. What a find! This little place makes their own bread (and processes the grain themselves). They have a modest menu of simple sandwiches, soup, salads, yogurt, etc. The bread is fantastic...real whole wheat! They have a great selection of vegetarian sandwiches too. Everyone who works there are very friendly. We were able to buy their bread too. I am very happy to go back. Four stars instead of five because I'd like to see what other condiments and fixings they have listed on the menu so I don't have to ask if they have certain things, and that I'd like a side dish included in the price, even if they changed the price a bit. read more

I feel bad not giving more stars...I really do...especially since the lady there (I'm assuming she was the owner) was SO nice, asked us how we heard about them (I said Yelp), and was kind enough to describe the menu right when we walked up. So, to be honest, all three stars go to the customer service, and also the cute homey decor that fits this place perfectly. The reason Ofelia's loses two stars is the food. My husband liked his sandwich, but the pumpkin soup (which we both tried) was...I'm sorry...disgusting. Well not disgusting; perhaps just a bit inedible. I ordered the artichoke veggie sandwich. It sounded delicious! But it was not, I'm sad to say. The bread was awesome, the artichokes were yummy, but the sweet pepper sauce or whatever it was...oh my there was WAY too much on this sandwich. It was dripping! The sandwich was lacking...something. I dunno. The other couple we went with weren't super impressed with their sandwiches either. So we left before taking advantage of the frozen yogurt everyone here raves about. We went to the Nestle shop in downtown afterward. Oh also...the salad I got with my sandwich was...interesting. If you don't know where to look, Ofelia's is a bit hard to find. A small mom and pop shop behind Bombay Nicks, this is my go to lunch spot for really fresh, homemade salads and sandwiches. I always say the bread makes a sandwich, and the bread here is packed with flavor. Everything is made to order, so you may have to wait a bit longer to get your food, but very worth it. Can't recommend the soup, unless you are on a low salt diet... Lacks flavor. If you're looking for a loaf of homemade bread, call ahead and place an order. Bread and butter... Yum! read more

My experience at Ofelia's Kitchen was amazing! The ambiance was good for my soul. Places like this don't exist anymore. I ordered the crab melt sandwich. It was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had! As I waited for my food, I took a seat at one of the tables. I read Ofelia's story and it touched my heart. I love small businesses, especially those that are family-oriented. I will love to go back when I am in the area. For those complaining on the price, it is worth every penny. I have to say that after reading all of the reviews, I expected more. Sure the bread was fresh and the ingredients were tasty but a reuben is supposed to be on rye bread and the turkey pastrami... turkey pastrami??? It tastes exactly like regular plain Jennie-O turkey pastrami I get from Albertsons. There was nothing standing out with this sandwich. It was $8+ that I shouldn't have been charged more than $3.99 for. Ugh. read more

I looked at the menu on line before heading over and I was pleased with the selection, not to mention I was told it was a great place for sandwiches. Once I get there, the place is unassuming, nothing extravagant. I was disappointed that I didn't get to choose what type of bread I wanted my sandwich on...there is no choice, one type of bread. The bread was ok but cut way too think. I had the Chicken Salad and it was ok. I walked out of there having paid over $8 for a sandwich and a can of soda.
