I was just recently introduced to Ofelia's Kitchen and boy am I glad I was. Sandwiches are my thing and this place fits the bill. My favorite is the egg salad sandwhich. It was a good portion for the price and had a great fresh taste. They make the bread fresh daily so that is an extra plus. The family who owns it is super nice. I stopped by here because I needed a sandwich. This craving was not going away and they seem to be the only place in Livermore that has gluten free bread. Having someone offer you a "lettuce wrap" all the time is just so mean! This place is quaint and hidden next to a somewhat busy shopping center. I liked how small it was. The sandwiches aren't mind blowingly amazing, but they are still above average. The bread is fresh baked daily and is quite good. There's also a home made thousand island sauce that is amazing. If your sandwich doesn't come with it, ask for it on the side. You won't regret it. The two big negatives I find with this place is the wait time for a seemingly uncomplicated sandwich, and the steep prices for what you get. Overall it's a pretty decent mom and pop sandwich place; but you wouldn't miss much if you happen to walk past this place. read more

Excellent sandwiches in a quaint little shop. Vegetarians will be beyond delighted, but carnivores will find much to enjoy as well. I come back again and again for the delicious bread! Recommended sandwiches: eggplant with melted cheese or seafood salad. Soups are good too. You can eat outside or in, though the tables outside are a little unbalanced and the wind likes to snatch empty plates and cups! They recycle and go green waste, which is great. read more

Called ahead, got a turkey avocado sandwich and a banana smoothie. Faster this time around but the place just isn't built for speed. If you walk in and there's a line of 3 people you will be waiting a really long time just to pay for your called ahead lunch! Really good though, totally worth it. This was the first time we ate at this little sandwich restaurant. We came as a group and were very surprised with the sandwiches. Everything is fresh and the sandwiches were great. The cookies were very big and very good and I suspect were home made. We plan to return to Ofelia's Kitchen in the near future and will take a sandwich home the next time. This place is AMAZING! The bread alone is amazing. I have never had a bad experience here. Everyone is so nice and friendly. Ingredients are fresh and they even have sprouts WINNING! Got the turkey pastrami sando w/ small cup of pumpkin soup and was pretty disappointed. The sando was super basic and made with turkey pastrami I could have picked up from the local large grocery chain for $3.99 a lb. the soup was good but needed more seasoning. I'm going to subway next time for two $5 foot longs for the price I paid for one subway quality food long at this place. read more

First time here and what a delight! My husband had the BLAT with a coffee smoothie and it did not disappoint! I had the triple berry smoothie and the good earth with chicken salad. Smoothie was amazing. The chicken salad is so good I recommend getting it just as a sandwich so you don't loose the flavor in the cream cheese and avacodo. They were out of sprouts so I do look forward to going back and trying a sandwich with sprouts. The bread is amazing! The only downfall was my sandwich was supposed to have cucumber and it was not on the sandwich...they are a bit pricey so it would be nice to have all ingredients. The cucumber would have added the crunch the sandwich needed. We will definitely go back but I will be checking sand for all ingredients next time as well as getting there earlier so hopefully sprouts will be in stock. I see this as a trend in the reviews. This place is amazing. I am a huge fan of the bread; it is delicious and homemade. Everything is fresh, and the sandwich selections are creative and excellent. Ofelia is a very health-oriented woman, and it is obvious that she tries to make everything as healthy and delicious as possible. The soups and cookies are homemade and delicious, too! My two favorites are the lentil and quinoa sandwiches. This place is family-owned and run by Ofelia and her husband. For this reason everything is a bit pricey, but am a huge supporter of local businesses and ALWAYS take my friends and family who are from out of town here.
