You have to be a local to know this place serves such an authentic hand pulled noodles. Looks like a family mom and pop owns and appreciates the Noodle textures that are made with perfection. Like the crunch in the pigs ears and full of aromatic garlic in the bok choy. But the spicy noodle soup had some taste of lamb which is too gamey for me and the service ... not very manageable. But it's all good food matters most.
HELLA GOOD! I got the hot oil dry noodles with pork, delicious. The xiao long bao is also good but i liked the noodles more! My friend got the soupy noodles and it was also very tasty! Great noodle spot, would go again if i were in the area :) and service is nice too, they were pretty attentive and refilled our waters, no complaints!
I've been dying to try this place. I kept hearing about the spicy short rib soup. I can totally see why people would love this, but this wasnt for me. The broth was oily and it was hard to enjoy the flavors. The short rib was so tender though. And I loved the bok choy. I ordered this online for pick up and I loveeeeed how they packaged the soup. It comes in a huge container but they separate the broth and noodles. Then when you get home you just dump the noddles in the bottom. Extra star for that! I still think this restaurant is worth trying and I plan on going back to try something else.
I'm not sure if I just ordered the wrong things, but I did not enjoy my experience. Though we came and got seated right away, we were told to scan the QR code to order. The server didn't really come by to ask us if we had any questions or if this was our first time, so we blindly ordered. I went off of your pictures and order the QQ dry noodles and the soup dumplings. The dumpling was overcooked, and there was no soup in the dumpling and the dry noodles, I could not even finish. The noodles was my fault for sure because I didn't ask any questions. It was mala spicy, and the numbing was just really off for me. I didn't even finish my plate and left hungry.
SOOOO YUMMY!!! I ordered Braised Beef Noodle, Spicy Oil Pork Noodle, Cucumber Salad and the Bun. All so YUMMY. I tried a lot of places before including in Taiwan, many popular restaurants in Santa Clara, Fremont, etc. But this is the best ever! The service is great and food was served so quickly. There's an option to choose less oil and salt which is perfect for me. I don't eat salty food. I would highly recommend and def come back! The restaurant's decor is cute and nice too!
This was booked marked at the recommended of a friend and finally tried it for dinner on a chilly night this week. I called ahead to see how the wait was and person said he'd try to hold the table. Arrived 30 min later and the restaurant was full. Waited less than 5 min before being seated. I noticed there were just chopsticks in the utensil caddy and a box of napkins to help ourselves with. Water soon came after. Scanned the QR code on the wall behind us. Chose all their popular items. Beef noodle soup, tomato egg beef noodles, potstickers with pork, and ofc XLB (bc you have to try it where ever you see it on the menu) Beef noodle soup was the 1st to come. Needed to ask for bowls as we wanted to share. No extra spoons were given as per usual. I immediately noticed how thick the oil was in the soup. Usually THAT much oil is skimmed out before serving. Not this place. Distributed 3 servings for everyone to try hoping that the oil was not sit wrong in my stomach. IYKYK. (Middle thick) Noodles were nice and chewy and al dente. The flavors of the soup was actually tasty sans the film that spread over my lips, needing napkins to constantly wipe before my next bite. There were some of pieces of beef that were tough while other pieces were nice and tender. It came with a few pieces of bok choy, was nice to help cut down the grease. 3/5 Next came the tomato egg beef noodles. Instead of beef flank it was the same beef brisket (shank?) as the beef noodle soup. That was a nice change. I was so excited to try it as this dish is usually my favorite at place like Noodle St in So Cal. Tomato was nice and tender and not mushy. Egg had lots of flavor. Same beef as the other noodle soup hit or miss of tender pieces. Then the thick noodles. Same chewy texture. This is where it all went wrong for me. The flavor. I tasted Five Spice. Then the mala oily sour spice. The film that lingers and sticks on your lips and tingles throughout the whole meal. The flavors didn't taste quite right. It's like they used the mala base and sweeten it. Personally, not my cup of tea. I couldn't even finish my portion. 2.5/5 Next came the potstickers and XLB Potstickers were essentially the regular size boiled dumplings, pan fried. They looked very promising however the taste for me missed the mark. Meat filling was too lean and the skin wasn't as tender and soft. 3/5 The XLB came out piping hot. The juice held up pretty well. The flavor wasn't bad but it also wasn't my favorite either. 3/5 Throughout this whole time we were trying to flag down the servers for extra spoons and plates to eat our dumplings. We were only able to get extra spoons which weren't the cleanliness with still an oily film lingering. We basically just hand cupped each mouthful of dumpling to prevent the juices from dripping onto the table. No preset table settings. And the utensil was empty besides the chopsticks. By this point there a line forming out the door. I needed to get rid of this sour spicy taste that needed some Dawn soap to cut the grease off. Overall, aside from the thick cut noodles, everything else was just okay. There were these girls sitting at the next table who ordered beef chow mein. That actually looked good as it was my 1st choice but wanted to try the tomato egg instead. We know how that turned out. It sounds like many people like this place, earning them 4+ stars on Yelp. To each their own I guess but it wasn't for me

This place used to be a Taiwanese restaurant years ago. I was not too thrilled about it despite my love for Taiwanese food... I do not know when did they change hand. Anyway we ordered three items since it was just the two of us . We had the spicy beef noodle soup, the pig ear appetizers, and the potsticker. The beef noodle soup was good. We selected the wide flat noodles, and it was very tasty. It was not as spicy as I have expected, but with a nice kick. Would be better if a bit more vegetables. The pig ears appetizer was great. Many restaurants will have fillers in there like they will have a thin layers of the protein on top and whole bunch of shredded cucumber in the bottom. This place the entire plate was full of pig years. I really really enjoyed it. The potstickers filling was pork, shrimp, and leeks. The size of each potstickers was on the small side, but tasty. The service was OK. Nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. The place was small and as with most Chinese place, a bit noisy. Overall, we had a pretty good experience and yes, we will be back here.
Today was the day! I was craving something warm during the cold weather we have been having. I've been telling myself for a while now that I needed to try CA Noodle because I pass by pretty often when my son goes to gymnastics down the street. The service was fast once I found out you order using the QR code at the table, and the food came out quickly. I got the - Braised beef soup regular noodles($16.80) Fungus salad($7.99) Qianmai Roujiamo($7.99) Spicy Oil Dry Noodle with Pork medium wide noodles($16.30) The braised beef noodle broth was really flavorful and the noodles had a nice chewy texture. I did end up adding some chili oil, which gave it a little extra kick. The fungus salad was nice and refreshing to go with the hot soup. It definitely helped with the heat since the broth stayed hot for what felt like forever, which is a good thing. My husband got the spicy dry noodles with pork and said it was good and enjoyed the heat from the chili. The Qianmai Roujiamo reminded me of a banh mi like flavor mixed with a pulled pork texture. It tasted good, but it's probably not something I would order again. I would go back again for the braised beef noodle soup and maybe try the cucumbers next time, unless I'm craving the fungus salad. It was really good and I might randomly crave it because of the light dressing they use.
Came here during lunch on a weekday and it was surprisingly pretty busy. We didn't have to wait but several people came in to eat after us. The portions are huge! The noodles are never-ending. I would say this is one of the best braised beef noodle soup places around the area - East Bay. The only downside is that the soup is a little oily in my opinion.
The food is amazing and worth the price. The service is magnificent and there is amazing workers here to provide you company. The environment is cozy and theres working AC. The liangpi and the noodles are very delicious and fresh. Workers are very generous. Overall an amazing experience. Would definitely come again.
Stopped by CA Noodle this past Friday over my girlfriend's craving for noodle soup and we wanted to try something new. Seeing CA Noodle show up on our yelp search and it was nearby, we decided to check it out. The location is pretty convenient, located in a plaza that shares parking spaces with several other restaurants and a McDonald's. The inside only seats about 10-14 parties of 2-4, so a pretty small restaurant. They had 2 waiters staffing the entire restaurant, but the menu and ordering system is all done through a POS via QR code. The menu was quite large, offering no many choices like pot stickers, noodle soups, chow mein, and little appetizers like pig ears. We ended up ordering the pig ears, pot stickers, pork pan fried bun, and 2 noodle soups. The good: pig ears. The pig ears were cut in various sizes and the flavor was spicy. Definitely to our liking! The neutral: the pork hamburger item and pot stickers. While the bun was tasty and crispy, the mean in between was a bit dry and the taste was a bit mild and less salty. We made it better by adding pig ears with every bite lol. The pot stickers were fine but it didn't really give a crispy bottom taste and more of dry pan sear. It definitely needed sauce as the filling was a bit mild too (very consistent mild tastings after the pig ears. The bad: the soup dishes that we ordered were definitely needing a flavor bomb. While the noodles we ordered were great and had a ton of chew and the protein in the dish was plenty; the soup lacked in taste. My girlfriend had to ask for additional salt to add to taste and it made it so much better. I ate mine as intended and I wasn't as satisfied as compared to if I were to eat at ox9 or muragame. Overall, I thought our meal was about a 3.5. While we enjoyed watching the World Cup while eating our food, the taste of our food was much more desired and it didn't scratch our itch for a rich soup. Unfortunately, many of the other patrons seemed to catch on and order the chow mein instead. If we come back, it's probably what we would order next. Until next time! read more

This place is so underrated. Tucked right beside a McDonald's and gas station you would never think you would get authentic noodle soup dishes. But they are delicious. I had the braised beef noodle soup and it was delicious. Parking is usually not an issue and you order via QR code and pay up front. The server is friendly and often plays NBA games. Portion size is also very good. Just note don't order the spicy version unless you REALLY want a kick. read more

HUGE portions. I really like the sour mustard and spicy pork with rice noodle. A few bites in and it definitely feels like my bowl is getting larger rather than smaller. LOTS of noodles. I personally would prefer more soup and for it to be more sour. read more

Noodles are always delicious, but wished for more chew. Not busy during lunch. Order through QR code, once you finish eating, you pay at the counter. Order a Spicy Beef Noodle Soup ($17.97 with tax ). This will clear up your sinuses! The soup was really boiling hot, so be careful. The noodle were not as chewy as some other noodle places. The bok choy goes well with the chili oil soup. I would want more of the beef flavor in the soup as well too. Definitely would try their tan tan noodles next since that seems popular. read more
Solid Chinese noodle spot in Pleasanton. I was under the weather when I ate here, and it hit the spot. The hand-pulled noodles have a good texture and chew, the broths are rich without being too heavy. I got the braised beef noodle soup. We had tried CA noodle for the first time last week and had a mixed thoughts on the food. The restaurant itself is small and quaint. No frill but kept clean. Server was good and on top of helping customers and getting orders out. There was only one server so he was working really hard to get all the tables served and helped in a timely manner. Ordering is done ourselves through a QR code and if you want a hard copy of the menu you can grab their togo menu We got their Sour Mustard fish noodle soup. The soup was a clear and light broth with pickled greens mixed in. The noodles were fresh and perfectly chewy or (aka QQ). The fish was delicious and cooked well and not over done. Overall 5/5 for this noodle soup. Second item we got was the dry chicken noodle with flat noodles. We were not a fan of this at all. The noodles were drenched in sauce and was almost inedible and salty. The chicken pieces were quite dry and hard. The sauce had a bit of Mala or numbing flavor is to it which wasn't pleasant to the palate at all. This dish would need to be a 1/5 for me. Never again will we order any of the dry noodle dishes. Hoping to come back to try some of their other noodles and possibly try to reevaluate based on other dishes. I'm hoping the unpleasant dry noodle dish is just a one off and the others dishes are better. read more

This location is a bit tucked away but it's right behind McDonald's. I ate an early dinner so it was very quiet and nobody else was here except the staff. Nice decor and the staff were prompt. Fungus salad 5/5 - scrumptious. Served cold with bits of onions, green bell peppers, and cilantro with a light vinaigrette. If you love mushrooms, woodear mushrooms have that distinct crunch and chew. Perfect I'm between slurps of broth and noodles. Lamb Noodle soup 5/5 - amazing. Simple, clean flavorful broth. It wasn't overpowering. Plenty of tender fall off the bone lamb prices mixed in. Chili oil noodle with Pork 3/5 - it's in the name but I didn't realize how oily it was. There's literally a pool of oil at the bottom for you to mix. This was considered a dry noodle and I mistakenly thought I ordered it as a soup. The flavor did not jump out and it wasn't as fragrant even with the amount of oil. Their pork is pre-marinated and does have a little bit of szechuan if you're not a fan. I could barely taste any. I would come back to try other soup noodle dishes. Their serving bowls are big enough to feed two people. read more

I've tried a few different Chinese noodle spots (OK noodle, Ox 9, 88 baobao) and CA Noodle knocks them all out of the park. Really savory and perfectly firm and chewy noodles. Our favorite is the chili oil pork noodles...too good. Definitely one of our go-to's. Make sure to order the wide noodles! - chili oil pork noodles: 10/10. Perfectly savory. Too easy to inhale and no additional sauces necessary. - sour spicy pork noodles: not bad, but not as savory as the chili oil pork option. It's barely sour and not as flavorful and has veggie additions. - hot and spicy beef noodle soup: one of the better Chinese beef noodle soups I've had, but this dish just isn't my thing (I'm camp BBH). Just tastes like bland broth with oil. read more
Came on a weekday for lunch around 1pm. Via the QR code, we ordered two beef noodle soups (1 spicy 1 not spicy). Within 10 minutes, the food came out. The spicy beef noodle soup felt more like a bowl of spicy chili oil. My partner's non-spicy beef noodle soup was still a little spicy for him. The beef was not impressive. The noodles were chewy but about the only great thing about the dish. read more

What an incredible restaurant! Small inside, but well laid out with a nice atmosphere and super easy ordering with a table-based QR code. The noodles and the broths here are incredible!! They are looong, because they are hand-pulled, so don't be afraid to ask for scissors if you are sharing! The braised beef has incredible flavor whether soup, dry, or any other dish. Restaurant is located in a small quiet plaza so we were surprised to walk in and find almost all the tables were already filled. We lucked out on claiming the last table. Ambiance was spacious even though the restaurant was small. There was a QR code to scan for menu and ordering. The two dishes we picked were the soybean paste (pork) noodle, and the chicken mushroom noodle soup. Loved that you could pick what type of noodles for the dish! The soybean paste came in a separate container from the noodles so that we could adjust how much we want to put on. I'm so glad the sauce was separated from noodles since the soybean sauce was a bit strong and salty, a little bit goes a long way. The mushroom chicken noodles came in a generous portion. I wasn't a huge fan of the soybean paste or the soup base of the chicken soup, but the noodles were super fresh and good, bouncy and chewy. The chicken was tender and flavorful and I loved that dish came with a good amount of veggies. I would be open to trying other dishes the next time I come. One of the bowls they gave me was a little dirty and some of the chopsticks still have a food smell, but I did a quick hot water rinse and they were ok to use (or you can ask for a new bowl too :D) . No tummy aches going home. I would be open to trying dumplings and other dishes next time. read more
I had such a huge craving for soup dumplings and found out about this place on tik tok. I really wanted to love it but just thought it was ok. The dumplings were lukewarm which made me wonder how fresh they were? My husband also ordered one of their soups and we did love the noodles and felt like they were cooked exceptionally well but the broth and meat flavoring was not our fav. I know they have a lot of great reviews so I won't say that this is a place to skip but we just didn't particularly enjoy our meal. Hoping it was an off day. read more

This is a cozy spot I always love to go to with family and friends. I grew up always getting the liang pi and the braised beef noodle soup. My family also came for a lot of birthdays also since the noodles are soooo long. I came back recently with my boyfriend and he loved it as well!! Food comes out fast and prices and portions are super reasonable. Manager is also super chill :-) Totally recommend. read more
The noodle hype is real! We were passing by and decided to stop for a weekend lunch. The restaurant was pretty busy, but there were a few open tables. There is a QR code posted on the wall nearby the table, where you can scan and enter your order on your phone. This was actually very easy to do. The website also mentioned some of their most popular dishes, making it even easier to order. The food came out very quickly and at the correct temperatures. Staff were polite, however, they did not seem to speak much English. They had no trouble understanding basic requests and were friendly. We started out with two appetizers. Sweet Sour Cucumbers ($8.99) were very crisp and fresh. Plenty of garlic and a pinch of sweetness. Pretty refreshing. I personally prefer sour only and no sweetness, but it was just a touch. Fungus Salad ($7.99) was my fave. This one had delicious, crisp, large wood ear fungus. Marinade was absolutely the perfect blend of sour and savory. Soooo good! Highly recommend this dish, especially if you like things like scrumptious slow cooked meat, such as short ribs. The rich broth reminded me of the classic Chinese clay pot, with five spice flavors. It is not spicy. It had a generous amount of meat along with the chewy noodles. So delicious! We got a Tomato Egg Dry Noodle ($15.20) for the kiddos, but we liked it too. Wish the tomatoes were riper, but it is too early in the season. Portions size was great on this one too. The restaurant itself is small, but clean, and decorated in a simple, modern style. I was feeling in a soupy kind of mood. I am so glad I gave this place a shot. Friendly staff and super quick service! My spicy pork noodles were delicious and hit the spot I didn't even know I was missing! 10/10 The pork bao was also good. 8/10. Plenty of parking! GPS was tripping out and giving me a location across the street. This spot is right in front of the McD's drive-thru! I will be returning to try more food items! read more

The place is in a strip behind a gas station. It's not a very big place but it gets pretty busy. We came for Thursday dinner and all tables were filled. The person who works there doesn't speak any English it seems like. He tries but couldn't really answer our questions . Spicy beef noodle is really really good. It's not too spicy. The best part other than the melt in your mouth beef is the noodle. I picked regular noodle and it was nice and bouncy. Not overcooked. The leftover bowl has a "shelf" to separate the noodles from the broth. Which is great if you order to go. However, leftovers aren't too great because the noodle does get pretty mushy. So eat it there for the best texture. Oh the price on the online ordering system is different than the physical menu. I can't figure out which price they charge me at because he didn't give me itemized receipt. Only the credit card printout. read more

Came in the afternoon, prompt service with the tea which was nice and flavorful. Barcode scan for the menu & ordering. I ordered the braised beef noodle. Noodles were fresh, nice bite too it. Broth was good, but greasier than what I'm used to. Beef was tender, could have used some more meat. Ordered the cucumber, very refreshing & garlicky. A little sweet. Also ordered side of mustard greens, added another level of flavor to my noods. More pickled than I'm used to but still good. Cute & simple set up inside. What I don't understand is the price. Favorite. Noodle. EVER. I've been here multiple times since, but I still remember biting into these noodles for the first time. I was mind blown by the perfect chew of the noodles. You can also choose the size of noodles and I think I prefer the regular! Perfect slurping thickness and just thick enough to have a delicious bite. I'm still in shock to be honest. I had a mom & me hangout day and one thing about my mom is that she's always down to try a new place and so I looked up "noodles" on Yelp because it was cold and windy and a warm bowl of noodles sound like the cure all. A quick search led me to CA NOODLE nearby and the reviews were so positive so I was excited to come through. On a Wednesday afternoon, there was no one here which didn't seem like a good sign, but again it was a weekday so I brushed it off and sat down. First off, we came in while the worker was clipping his nails - not completely off putting but not something you would walk in on at a restaurant often either. Regardless, we stayed. Ordering is easy via the QR code at the table and he brought over hot tea for us. We ordered the pig ears (spicy, but way too salty), xiao long bao (overcooked, meat was tough, no juice), braised beef noodle soup (tender meat, noodles good consistency, broth tasted a little odd), and the braised spare rib noodle soup (meat wasn't tender, noodles were good consistency, broth tasted odd). Service was also kind of meh. Despite us being 1 of 3 tables, the worker spent a lot of time on his phone and only came by when we flagged him down. Overall, maybe it was an off day for them.
