I usually stop eating when I'm full but I couldn't put my fork down. It came with an option of fruit and I had low expectations. Often you get some mushy thawed out honeydew melon but they delivered real fresh fruit! It was a great balance to my decadent sweet treat. It came with eggs too but that was way too much food for me. The service is bland also, I walked in the restaurant for a take out order and waiting for the cashier a manager made eye contact with me and said nothing looking the other way, then silently stared the cashier working the register down. Ehhhhhh... The service was nice and the staff are friendly at least. Food was ok, but did not feel like I got my money's worth. I inhaled my order of chicken and waffles and still felt unsatisfied. By all means the food was not bad, though I wonder the demographic when by default.. the chicken and waffles comes with... honey mustard?? like.. not some honey dijon or something.. but honey mustard.. It is apparent why after you take a bite into their pretty flavorless fried chicken... I am used to some well seasoned fried chicken on waffles served with syrup and hot sauce... but everything started a bit bland.. so drowned my waffle in syrup and butter.. and tried to kick up the chicken with some hot sauce... yea.. didn't help too much.. used the honey mustard.. and while not the flavor I was looking for.. it made it at least more palatable. The sausage served to me was seriously undercooked, and when I pointed it out to the server, she said thanks for letting me know but did not replace the order of sausage, or even offer any substitute. Additionally, the eggs and hash browns were not impressive, and did not live up to the franchise standard. The only thing that tasted decent was the Waffles. Country waffles is a no-frills breakfast restaurant that serves American breakfast comfort food like pancakes, omelets, and benedicts. I recommend it because the food is fast and fresh, the staff are very attentive and quick, and the line moves quickly during the usual weekend rushes. They serve lots of a la carte breakfast items and also have a seniors menu. More about the food, I'd say my favorite thing when I get breakfast is pancakes. So, when I ordered a meat lover's omelet (I will not get into the Omelet vs. Omelette debate), I was happy to find out that the monstrous delight came with pancakes--very filling indeed. The omelet was full of bacon, ham, and sausage and was very good. I was able to try the cinnamon roll French toast too which was tasty but could have used a third piece of French toast; however, it was served with potatoes, eggs, and bacon. Not that I needed any more food, but we also ordered the biscuits. I can never pass up a good biscuit and I attribute this to growing up and thriving off of the biscuits at Bob Evan's in Ohio. Food not good. We went here yesterday with our family of six . We celebrated our daughter's twenty first birthday here. None of liked our food. We spent about a $150.That's including tax and tip. I had the cinnamon roll.French toast , I don't even think it was bread it was terrible I worst french toast i've ever had. My son had the Cobb salad .He said it was covered with blue cheese and wreck the salad because it was so much. My daughter had the waffle with nutella ,strawberries,bananas. She said it was overly sweet a grossed her out to eat. My husband had the peanut butter waffle.He said it was just so much peanut butter it was just overwhelming . My daughter got the soup salad and sandwich she said it was it ew. My son got a chocolate chip waffle.He said it was just okay. If you want to blow a $150 on food that doesn't taste good.I would go here. Also the service was not good at all. We had to ask for water every time.My husband didn't get his coffee.We had to ask for her for it because she was too busy talking to her friends. It felt inconvenient for us to ask her for anything. We have been to several country waffles including the Vasco location . This location is horrible the service is really bad , employees don't care and are rude when dealing with customers . I observed how one employee was talking to the customers , it was like she was doing them a favor by taking there orders . She even make a comment to one customer that was not sure what they put on pancakes, she replied what do you think ? Onions ? I will never go there again . We got the eggs Benedict and strawberry Nutella waffles. I had no complaints about the food but at the same time, there was nothing special about it. The coffee was extremely runny though and tasted close to hot water. Also, there were limited servers responsible for numerous tables so our waitress wasn't able to check on us as often. We came here on a recommendation from 3 livermore locals in the downtown music store. The place was packed at 10:55am on Saturday we were told the wait time is 10minutes. And we were seated in 10 minutes. We got some free self served coffee while we waited to be called... Not bad. We ordered the jebs good morning breakfast and the tender crepes with waffles. Food only took 15 minutes. The food was good. The pork chops were a little dry, but tasted great with the apple cinnamon side. The strawberry toppings were made from freshly sliced strawberries, not the frozen kind. The waffles weren't anything special, but they were still good. Noise level was quiet. It was fairly clean. Everyone has their grubby hands on it, I'm sitting her watching people touch menus, then wiping their hands on the back of their pants, touching money, etc and then touching the toast with their bare hands. People in the kitchen are at least wearing gloves and being sanitary, but the front of the house is pretty gross! Everyone is nice and the food is good, but seriously watch the toast process and see how many people are touching gross things then the toast and putting it in peoples plates. We come here every year when we travel from southern Cali to visit my father in law. We had a vegetarian sandwich, country waffles, a scramble with hash browns and the country potatoes. All in all - service is great, my father in-law and sister-in-law have been coming here for the past 7 years. Took the kids here this past Sunday and even though it was great that we got seated right away, I was so disappointed in the order my 9 year old daughter received. She ordered which I believe to be the smiley face pancake to go along with her typical eggs, bacon and hashbrown breakfast. What she received was a disappointing sad pancake. So i ordered the half waffle that went with my breakfast. I have never had such a hard, crunchy waffle. It had no flavor and was just blah! I ate some of my eggs and potatoes before trying the waffle. But there is just no way the waffle could have gotten that hard in such a short time. Something was wrong because even the butter wasn't melted which can only mean the waffle had already been premade for quite some time prior to my order. Definitely not fresh. Yuck! i came here with three friends after running the hook & ladder race in nearby wente vineyards. fortunately for us, the wait was minimal, 5-10 minutes for a table for 4, which is great during prime brunch hour on a gorgeous, sunny sunday morning. guests who had to wait for a table had access to chairs and coffee on the covered patio. while we were waiting, we perused the menu so that we could order as soon as we were seated since all of us were famished after the race. their menu has the usual eggs, pancakes, omelets, skillets, bacon, fruit and lunch sandwiches and salads. the unique items, in my opinion were the pigs in the blanket (sausage wrapped in thin pancakes) and assorted varieties of waffles. the 4 of us decided to share one order of the plain waffle, since it was by default carved into 4 distinct pieces. this was brought out first, so we dove in and i will say this waffle was really good! the outside was golden brown and crispy, and the inside was pale yellow and soft and chewy...delicious! i actually didn't even need butter and syrup on my waffle as it tasted so good all by itself! a few minutes later, our entrees arrived. two of my friends ordered the 3 pigs in a blanket which came with two eggs, a side of hash browns and toast....a seriously large plate of food fit for a king! my friends ran hard that morning so they earned this ginormous plate of food! another friend and i ordered the fresh garden omelet which consisted of zucchini, spinach, mushrooms, green onions, and bell peppers topped with shredded cheese. i requested mine without cheese and made with egg whites only. for my sides, i requested a fruit cup in lieu of hash browns and biscuits instead of toast. the omelet was really big and filled with lots of veggies; i appreciated that they did not skimp on filling the omelet as some restaurants do. the fruit cup was a nice array of bananas, strawberries, and canteloupe, all freshly cut. the biscuits were a bit disappointing as they weren't "fluffy" with the bumpy texture that i'm used to seeing with a traditional southern biscuit. the taste was just ok, and my friend who also ordered biscuits, and is from texas, agreed, that these biscuits were just ok. i took a to-go box since i couldn't finish my meal, but i had to go to the register myself since my waitress forgot to bring me one. i like they had the small to-go box, so that i could put my fruit in one container and leftover biscuits in another, to prevent the biscuits from getting soggy. since each of our entrees was the same price and we split the waffle 4 ways, splitting up the bill was pretty easy....an even $14 per person, including tax and tip. pretty good considering how much food we got, and definitely less than what we'd expect to pay back in south bay and peninsula. overall, a solid place to sit down with some friends for breakfast or brunch if you're in livermore or the tri-valley area. read more
