Ordered take out by phone from Off The Vine last night. When I got home I discovered they gave us two orders of ravioli and I only ordered one. And, they charged us for two. When I called, the woman who answered told us we needed to bring the entree back if we wanted to be refunded, so we did. Then when we got there, she said "we can't take that back so just keep it and here is a gift certificate for what we over-charged you. HORRIBLE customer service! To make the customer drive back for their mistake and then not give them their money back. A gift certificate is not a refund! read more

The staff is so warm and welcoming with excellent service, classy servers and hosts and an excellent choice of authentic Itallian, Pub and Grille cuisine. The menu is filled with gourmet dishes and many options to choose from. I've come here before for dinner and it was decent. Lunch appears to be their sweet spot with a great menu full of choices. It's a great setup where you order at the hostess stand and they bring the food to you. We had an Italian sub which was very good looking and my partner said was banging. I had the Chinese crunchy chicken salad and it was rave-worthy; it had toasted crushed ramen and the dressing was unreal and you barely needed anything or to add more from the additional side they provide you. The food came out lightening fast (assuming good food prep prevails here). We sat outside in their outdoor area and it made for a great experience. I'll most certainly return and strongly recommend adding this place into your lunchtime rotation especially if you've not treated yourself lately, it was totally worth it! read more

To start, I would give this 3.5 , but that is not an option it appears. After being seated inside this establishment, service was quick and efficient. I ordered a flatbread pizza with pepperoni. I am not one to ever leave a bad review, especially of a place I've always enjoyed going to, and have ALWAYS enjoyed their food/drinks/atmosphere..BUT the service is awful here, and has reflected in their food as of recent. (sitting at the bar is a different story ..Jeff is always provides the best service, and makes sure our food is out in a timely manner, and that we are taken care of. He definitely makes eating here the most enjoyable for everyone). We waited over 55 minutes for our entree to come out. I understand it was a Friday night, at a busy time, but not only 2, but 3 tables sat after we did, and received their appetizer AND dinners before we did. Our food was cold, and the portion was much smaller than normal. The owner was a jerk about the whole situation and said their was nothing he could do about it. As oppose to owning up to it, and giving a sincere apology. Unfortunately, they have lost costumers for life now. (Even though I'm sure the jerk owner won't even care). Recommend only getting take out from here or sitting at the bar. OR having ALOT of patience and waiting an hour for a small portion of Luke warm food. I had dinner there with a group of 10 friends. We sat in a private room off to the left of the entrance, which was nice. Our server was great. We took our time in ordering and she came back several times to make sure we had everything we needed. A couple of us ordered the margarita and the pepperoni pizzas. They were both very good, especially the margarita one. Some of us ordered salads which were very good, I was told. I later ordered the barbecue chicken pizza and was disappointed because it lacked some real flavor. If I could give this a negative review I would. I have waited to post this review after literally having words with the female owner. Oh my god! Subpar food, it was like still partially frozen/cold when I bit in. The salad we split was decent but overpriced for quality. So here's my issue: the female owner has no business being in the service industry, or around people at all. We ate at the bar and aparently she felt the need to tell us the man we were talking to behind the bar was her man. She got prickly quick. We didn't even try to be released from the burden of our terrible food or bill. We got attitude from the moment we sat. This place needs new ownership. Not impressed with this place. First off, this is funny: The Capellini Pomodoro caught my eye, since I was in the mood for a nice tomatoey sauce, but closer inspection of the menu had me puzzled... "Capellini Pomodoro - penne pasta with marinara sauce and parmesan cheese" Um, wait. How can you call something Capellini Pomodoro and then make it with PENNE? That's like saying "Ham sandwich- Slices of turkey on bread." I asked, and yes, that's what they're calling it, and I ordered it, and penne is what I got. Fine. It was pretty good, but would have been better as capellini. Sauce was good. Could have used more one more shake of the parmesan can. My friends ordered sandwiches and said they were tasty, and the drinks were boozy. My real reason for the two stars though is the lackluster service. I mean how many times could the waitress tell us she's "wicked sorry" but she has "sooooooo many tables ALL over the restaurant?" It got annoying really quick. Especially since you can spit and hit the back wall of the place. Meanwhile, we had four people busing our table. And at the end of the meal we had three people remove everything from the table in one fell swoop that said "You're done spending money? Get out now." You know it's not a great experience when one of your friends says "we should have just gone to Spud's." (shudder) read more

Off the Vine is a little Italian place on Route 1 South. We were mainly there for drinks, but my friend and I split a whole wheat margherita "flatbread" (pizza) and it was very good. The flatbread was very fresh tasting. The price for the pizza was around $12, sandwiches are around $6, & I don't remember the price for entrees. Service was friendly, but I think the waitress was trying to push us to order more drinks. We sat at a bar table, but there are a few tables not in the bar. They have a takeout area to the side of the bar. I'd like to go back & try an entree or sandwich. read more

Was here for dinner once last year. The food was good but the portions for my wife's pumpkin ravioli with sage and butter was minuscule. As I recall she had 5 raviolis for 12.95. I had good pizza, don't recall what kind. Service (new waitress) was horrible. I had to go to bar twice to get s sofa refill. I called the owner the following day who was apologetic and asked me to come in and dee his wife. WHAT S MISTAKE. instead of apologizing I was asked E WHO R U??! She and the Bartender were rude and I never got to explain that I was coming in per the owners request. I live in Rowley and will never go in this establishment again. My true rating would be 3.5 My bf & I met his dad & wife last night (Saturday), we were running late, so when we got their they were already seated. The atmosphere was very cozy & warm and I imediately felt comfortable. I agree with most of the other reviews about the service. Our waitress was very nice, but very younge. Before our coats were off she was asking if we were all set to order drinks. ( We were not) When we were ready we ordered a grey goose martini & a frangelico & dewars neat. 10 minutes later, a different younge (but nice girl) came over & asked me if I wanted my drink straight up on a martini glass. Yes. My drink came and the f&d came with ice. We sent it back - politely asking for it neat, with no ice ( she wasnt familair with the term neat.) Yet another girl came over to have the drink explained to her. Overall the food was yummy- Had a Brie appetizer, Apple Salad and we shared 3 pizzas which we all yummy. This place doesn't seem it, but 4 people with drinks, apps and pizzas & tip was 190- A little pricy for the service. I've been here a bunch of times for lunch and dinner. It has a nice atmosphere, high tables, nice bar, big screen TVs etc... The food is good; creative salads (although kinda small) and decent sandwich offerings make it a great choice for lunch. For dinner, if you only have a small window time-wise I recommend it. So this is my first Yelp review. I went to this place on 3/28/14 with 2 adults and a 2 year old. Waitstaff was very friendly, although a bit slow (but the place was packed so that has nothing to do with the negative review). We ordered a 17 dollar chicken parm and an osso buco. food was slow and when it came out it i was extremely disapointed. the chicken parm was lack luster at best (and at 17 dollars!?). It came with boxed penne pasta and a red marinara sauce that you could tell was from a tin can. Tasted as if it was from the sub shop next door. 17 dollar chicken parm from an Italian restaurant... i expect AT LEAST the sauce to be home made and preferably the pasta as well. the osso buco came out in the same red sauce and penne combination. I have never seen osso buco in a red sauce before (let alone one from a tin can). Every time i've had it (in Italy and at home) its in a hearty thick brown sauce... which makes the dish. I took one bite of the shank, and everything below was frozen... as in crystallized frozen. i have never sent anything back in my life.. but this was terrible. advertising fresh Italian cuisine... then how was my pork shank icicles? i politely sent it back as everyone else finished their dishes completely. after a good 15 minutes i got up.. found the waitress... and told her to kill the order. She said its ready if you want it, i said no... she asked if i wanted it boxed up... i said no thank you. i asked if they always served the osso buco the way they prepared it for me... she said yes. they took the osso buco off the bill and i left. i'm very forgiving with any restaurant but this was just terrible. seriously disappointed. My doors open to the chef if they would like to come over and learn how to make a home made marinara sauce in 10 minutes! read more

Went here on a Friday night, had to wait a little while. It's a little too loud, the front room seemed like a nice place to sit though. Our server was very strange but okay. Our food took a while to come out (from the appetizer, to the salad to the pizza) The food came out of order which was fine, and buffalo chicken was very good. Wine was a bit expensive and not to my liking. Chicken alfredo flatbread, could definitely be better with more alfredo sauce-seems like they put little to no sauce on it so it was a bit dry. Chicken seems like low quality. I left this place reeking off food which was really gross and unpleasant. Febreezed my sweater twice and it still stinks. May go back to try lunch someday or just get takeout flatbread (but not chicken alfredo) Not super pleased, there are better restaurants where you can get more and better food for your money. read more

I met my husband at the bar here one late afternoon. We sat at the empty bar and were told they don't open until 5 for dinner. The people working to set up for the dinner crowd were more than happy to get us a drink and had no problem preparing pizza and a sandwich to go before the 5pm opening. We were made to feel very comfortable not like we were putting them out in any way. I decided to try it for dinner with friends. It was a very busy Friday night about 7. We had to wait and got wine at the bar,. Decent wine in a decent glass, a pleasant surprise and the bartender smiled in spite of being so busy. There are lot's of pretentious bars out there, this is not one of them. The food was worth the wait, we didn't feel rushed, our waitress was wonderful. The kid at the door was new and learning I could see the waitresses helping him out. A great bunch of people at Off The Vine! This is one of the best places around. Lunch is serve yourself, sandwiches are on a variety of fresh bread. Dinner is fresh, cooked to order. The portions are not huge. If you want to eat like a pig you should get the pre-made ravolis at the all you can eat buffet. read more
