Dear Office Depot: On 9 March 2019, Albert Madrid died as he saved two small girls from a residential structure fire (https://youtu.be/0H9R0WF_nCo), and time to prepare for his memorial service was very short due to factors beyond out control. The memorial service was set for Saturday, 06 April 2019. I worked on the pamphlet design late into the night because they needed to be printed in time for the 12:00 start time of the service. I can't overstate how stressful the entire preceding week was as it involved many agencies, levels of local government, interviews, etc., and with the service just a couple of hours away, the big question was whether or not the pamphlets could be printed in time. First thing in the morning of the memorial service, I called around various print service shops with no luck. Then I hit on Store# 626 of Redlands, CA. Jane took my call. By this time I was nearly panicked, and due to this stress, I'll never forget how much Jane helped. She was so remarkably calm. With zero fuss, stress, or delay she assured me she could get it done in time. I emailed her the pamphlet design, hung up the phone, got everything together, and drove down to her Office Depot to pick up the pamphlets. They were great, and helped contribute to the success of Albert Madrid's service https://losangeles.cbslocal.com/2019/04/06/man-saves-girls-mobile-home-fire/. I promised myself I would write this "Thank You" Yelp review for a couple of reasons. Albert Madrid didn't wear a uniform or have some special job, but his actions were the ultimate in heroism, benefiting others for no gain to himself. Though of a much different magnitude, it is worth recognizing how Jane, despite working a "service" job, could make such a huge difference for me, and by extension hundreds of others. 1/6/18 Peyton in the shipping/ copying area- know it all who doesn't know anything, condescending to her coworkers as well as to the customers. It was Hard to communicate with her because she acts like she doesn't understand or as if the customer is dumb, when I picked a shipping date and price that was shown on the computer, she actually told me "you don't have a flat rate envelope" instead of saying "sure, just grab the flat rate envelope" because I ship every week I know that's how it works.. The customer just grabs the flat rate envelope. Last time I was in there I had a similar issue. This time I heard her tell a coworker that she had been calling her for ten minutes which wasn't true because I was there for the entire interaction, the other employee walked away for about three minutes. I have been coming here for years to do all of my copy and printing ( I'm here at least twice a week, 3 or 4 times when I'm extra busy) and all of the people in the print and copy department are so helpful and efficient. They are so friendly and greet me by name and i have gotten to know several of them. They are always patient with their customers, I have never seen anyone lose patience even during their busiest times. Just the other day there was one gal in the copy and print and she was swamped but handling it like a pro and communicating with customers to let them know she'll be with them soon and apologizing for the wait. They always try to get you the best prices and do things the most efficient way. I will continue to bring my business here! read more

Charge for a receipt? Yes they now charge $.05 for a receipt. I dropped off a return UPS box, shipping label attached, and was told I have to pay .05 to get my receipt. I had plans on purchasing a lot that day. My purchase certainly would have been a couple hundred dollars. I explained to the young lady that if she charged me for a receipt it would be the last thing I ever purchased from here. Is a nickel really worth the time to complain about? Probably not, but the principal is crazy. However after the charge to get a receipt, I paid with a credit card, and won't be back. .05 receipt cost cost hundreds in sales today, and thousands over a year's time. There are competitors online that have prime shipping. They don't charge for a receipt. read more

0. Big fat Zero!!!! Got to the open door at 10:45, as soon as they opened. They said the store opens at 11:00...being we were the First customers in store, we thought we would wait. We walked in asked for assistance in making a copy, we were told that the store was open but they couldn't help us until 11:15. -at 11:20 again, they said they couldn't help us until 11:30, we waited another 20 mins and again was told now we wouldn't be helped until 12:15 However they were helping all the customers walking in with questions and shopping needs. Needless to say we left after the rude and very unprofessional girl, could not justify her ignoring us. This was the WORST customer service we ever received from any Office Depot. We will not return until they rehire New staff. Note: We went to the Office Depot on Hospitality and They we're awesome quick and professional. After being dismissed by the cashier, Janice, when asking if there was additional stock for an item I needed desperately, I started to walk away upset by the treatment I had received from her and was trying to refocus my thoughts as to how to get an important item done for a company event. As I walked past Teresa she asked if there was anything she could help me with. I explained that the item I needed they didn't have enough of for what I had to do and that they did not have any more in stock. Teresa asked what the item was and said that she can check stock at the other locations around! Teresa was able to see that the Hospitality location had what I needed! I purchased the items I had given to Janice upset from Teresa as she also stepped up to be my cashier! Thank you Teresa for all of your help. You saved the day! As for Janice..... KARMA! I hope you are given disciplinary action. You are terrible at customer service and have a really bad attitude! read more

I have a love hate relationship with Office Depot. At the same time I love them for being the closest and most convenient center for my printing needs, I can't help but despise them a little bit for their (sometimes) slow, (sometimes) sloppy service. But today when I emailed a printing request I received a confirmation right away that my print jobs were completed n ready for me to pick up yay! Thank you Adrienne for your super professional and efficient customer service!! OD also has great deals on office furniture. And,of course, a good supply of office supplies and machines are always stocked up. I appreciate their cleaning product area and aisle of office programs too. Parking is easy. My dad took me here for school supplies a few times, and the first time I got lost in the pen section. I could not decide on what I wanted, since they had such a hug selection, especially compared to Wal-Mart. We used to go here weekly to make copies or to fax something. We would buy printer ink, and I used to use it all until I moved out. My dad and I have always been satisfied with the service we get from the workers and the items that we have bought from this Office Depot. However, sometimes the prices were simply unaffordable for our family. read more

On 07182013 a little after 6:00pm we went into Office Depot to grab a wireless mouse the helpful staff was great until we were approached by the manager who seemed to be disciplining her employees in front of us. I was even asked to participate in the berating of respectful prompt employees. She also gave a lousy metaphor for leadership and was kind enough to relay some zoological information on the buffalo. I just mostly wanted her to stop talking to me. I do not appreciate managers that belittle their staff at all, let alone in front of customers. I felt mislead and taken advantage of by that manager. It should not ruin my day to go to office depot. BTW the worst customer service was provided by this manager. The employees were great. UPDATE: I got a very quick response from the district manager when I reported the event to customer service. He was apologetic and seemed eager to regain my business. read more

This is about the most worthless office supply store I've ever been to. No organization, no variety, and poorly stocked. Toner cartriges have at least a 100% markup. Barely any staff to be found. Any easy litmus test is to see how many varieties of Sharpie markers they stock--not permanent markers, but Sharpie's... this place failed with washable ink. If Office Depot cared about their reputation, they would just close the store and put a mail-order catalog dispenser in its place. Maybe this is the norm Office Depot stores, I don't know. Worth the drive to Hospitality to go to Staples if you really need office supplies right now. read more

I was just at the office depot in Redlands and there was a line at the check out with a few customers. I wanted to give a huge shout out to the gentleman( i think his name is Christian) managing the check out. Even though he had multiple customers, he was very patient and had the best customer service. Fernando in the copy center is the most professional and efficient staff member. I wouldn't be writing this review if I hadn't experienced his service. He's helped me on multiple occasions with my copy orders. Often the copy center gets busy but he stays calm, works quickly and multi-tasks extremely well. I appreciate his work ethic and focus. I love this store and the staff ! I shop here a couple times a week and I absolutely love the greetings I receive every time I walk in the store. Most of all I love how involved Office Depot is in supporting local schools . I had the privilege of meeting the asst. Manger Brittany who was very helpful gathering plastic bags for our school . I ordered some ink this morning and went to go pick it up at Office Depot... I got almost all the way home and the bag fell off the front seat onto the floorboard and one of the ink cartridges the box was open. I also realized I had purchased the wrong ink cartridge so I turned around and went back to Office Depot. I walked into the store and told them what happened a gentleman named David help me get the correct ink. Michelle and Jose help me with the returning and purchasing of the new ink. The ink online and in-store price were slightly different different so they fave me the price did the online price for me and returned my items and I purchased the correct ink cartridge I have been purchasing ink for several years from Office Depot and I have never had a problem with anything being missing or incomplete or however you want to say it. No one ever questioned me as why I was returning the items and they practice that the customer is always correct policy. David, Michelle and Jose made this transaction wonderful. I recommend this store for all of your printing, paper, ink, computer or whatever else you need. read more

I go there all the time as sometimes they have good sales and the location is convenient. I will compare them to the Culver City Office Depot which seems to be very chaotic and cluttered, but Barry walks you through tech issues and gets it done. He also gave me his direct phone number so I could ask him when the work was done. Redlands Office Depot seems much less chaotic at first and cleaner, But they have less stock. And the workers seem to be chasing their tails. I bought two computers from Office Depot. I just bought another one. Partly due to price and partly due to it not being a giant mega store. This time I had them do the set up and told them want I wanted done. The fellow told me it would be done by the afternoon the next day and he would start working on it that afternoon. He was going to call me when it was finished. I waited around for the call and put off a trip to Riverside so I could get the computer. The call never came, so I went to the store around 6 PM and asked about the status. Well, it turned out it was in a cabinet and NEVER WAS STARTED. After talking to two techs they said the called their manager and they would start working on it right then and make sure it was done by 2:00 the next day. So 2:00 came and went, I did not hold my breath this time and just went over around 6 PM again. Well guess what, it wasn't done. But at least this time it was being processed. They blamed their slow modem speed. So I waited around for quite a while and it finally was done. Oh and one of the issues I asked them to do, was not done. I ended up doing it myself. I also had them do something else for me, and due to their slow internet connection it was taking a long time. I was quoted a certain cost. I decided to come back another day and the asst manager helped me. Well, what they wanted to charge was much more than what was originally quoted. I argued with him and told him about the problem with not getting my machine done in a timely manner, so he brought the cost of the work down to a reasonable amount but more than the original quote. I mentioned how I came by two days in a row to get my computer and all he gave was a half hearted apology and added that he needed to tell the Techs not to tell people when their devices are going to be ready. Really you can't predict when your work will be done? OK no I won't buy your service plan again. In contrast Culver City store also had slower service than planned but he let me know how much longer it would take and was very apologetic. Much better customer service. I always felt good talking to Barry about computer issues. OK that is another issue, this has a big tech section, why do they have a very slow modem, basically slightly faster than dial-up according to one tech. The Culver City store has the same issue, why doesn't the company have faster internet speed? Seems penny wise and pound foolish. I talked with the original tech and he seems like a nice kid, but they need to work on their efficiency and customer service. So I will probably still come here for the sales and because it is convenient. But may switch to the San Bernardino store. read more

Really poor service for same day photos. Ordered for my work on Tuesday and went to pick up on Wednesday. Couldn't find my order then said we're out of photo paper so they didn't print. I let her know it was for my work and any type of paper could be used. The person couldn't figure out how to print out from my order so I had to email the photos to the store. Should gave been a 5 minute pick b up, turned into a 30 minute hassle. read more

The high tech on-site guy, Aric is absolutely top drawer in my book. On Jan 19, 20I8 had Aric back up my hard drive, do a full down wipe the drive restore verses doing it myself. Although a wee-bit pricey for service rendered (due to Office Depot pricing policy), Aric did the service and what he diagnosed expertly). Bought a computer back in December 2015, and it was not up to par, so I returned it a few days later. Office Depot assured me that they would wipe it, before selling it. Unfortunately they did not do this. Some guy came to my door, knowing my name, obviously my address, my logins, my kids logins and told me that he'd been reading my emails! Office Depot gave him a $20 gift card for his troubles. So they've basically sold my privacy and rewarded the guy that has all my info! They offered me a $50 gift card for my troubles, which I did not take. You can't unring the bell. I called corporate, but they didn't even return my call! Shameful!!!! I will NEVER go back to this Office Depot. Never in my life have I been treated so poorly. When I asked if they could help me find a stylus for my ipad, they said yes, and stood there staring at me. I got my stylus go home, and I couldn't make it work. When I went back, they treated me horribly. They flat told me they did not know the answer to my question. When I asked for someone who did, no one would come up to the front, they simply said something over the phone. I will never go back to this place. It's horrible. The printing and copy station can get backed up sometimes, but all-in-all this is a great location. Staff is extremely friendly, I am never walking around aimlessly for more than a couple minutes without an employee saying "What can I help you find today." I came in today to make copies. At that time the staff who worked at the copy station were very helpful. They helped me with the self serve copying. After a while I needed more help because the xerox printer were giving me codes and denying my credit card. So one of the staff me,bets said to go over to the copy section and they will get one of the staff to copy my material. I waited approx Twenty min and my copies were done. I was just about to pay for them when I realized the clerk had enlarged my copies and now I had to wait another 20 min to copy my material. read more

I am new in the neighborhood and needed a place to make copies so I came here. The guy at the counter quickly showed me how to transfer files to him so he could print them. While I was waiting I called around for a place to overnight some mail and he heard me, I got off the phone and he said "we do that too!!" I was so grateful I could get everything done at one stop! This store has a mix of staff. Some are very nice and super helpful. Some are rude and obnoxious. The ones who work the registers act as if giving you a discount when you present the coupon is taking away their payroll. Staff at the copy center are ALWAYS nice even though they look like they are super busy. I would go there just to make copy but not to purchase something. Went to the copy center in the morning today to mail an item via UPS. The time was around 7:10am. There was only one employee there at the copy center. When she helped me I asked her a question about the shipping and she abruptly states "I don't handle boxing questions, I'm just here to ship packages". It was too early in the morning so I just ignored her comment and gave her the box to ship. I was there around 8pm trying to buy some binders and make double sides copies. I tried the self-serve copiers and they only take credit cards (I was paying cash) and they only do single sides copies. So I stood in line for copies. And waited. And waited. There were at least 6 employees in the store but only one working the copy counter and there was a customer who was making her reprint photos for about 30 minutes. I don't understand why no other employee bothered to jump behind the counter and help. There was nobody checking out. I didn't see any other customers in the store buying anything. They all seemed oblivious that there were two customers waiting over 30 minutes for copies (and the woman who was being really picky over her prints was not helping the situation). I was tired and so were my kids so I left the line and my items behind and we decided it wasn't worth waiting for. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I usually don't write a review but I just have to this time. Yesterday I walked in to buy some paper and ended up buying a office chair. The sales rep (#656845), sorry didn't get your name, was so great! He showed me the different chairs and after deciding on one that they didn't have the color of my choice in the store. We went to the computer and to make a long story short I ended up buying the black one, which they had in the store but I didn't think it would fit in my little car so we ordered it online right then and there. This was around 3 pm yesterday. It is 8:30 am the next day and it just arrived on my door step!!! Thank you can't wait to have a office chair again. Great service! read more
