I had to create certificates for my team. I looked no further than OfficeMax. The last time I came here, the printing to him took such great care of me. It was no different today. They're always packed and busy with lots of guests and they do their best to take care of them one at a time. You have to have patience when you have a project to do here because they have to do these printing as they come and they already have several orders from the day. I usually send my work to their email, but it was too big of a file so the person taking care of me sent a link of my Canva work to their Canva and they were able to print it on their end. Three people helped me and they were all very cordial, respectful and helpful. One helped me decide which paper I should use for the work I did and I was very pleased with the results. First off: I was greeted when I entered the store (a small thing - but a great touch) by the same cashier that gave me great customer service at both times of check out. She was friendly helpful and gave great personality. Second:I was asked if I needed assistance when trying to navigate the large selection of labels - another small detail but these days I feel like I'm "bothering" uninterested employees when asking for assistance. First time shopping at this location. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a couple of salespersons. One of them walked me over to the paint markers I was interested in. Then, while I walked to another part of the store browsing at UPS Battery Backups, another salesperson came to ask me if I needed assistance. I inquired if the one I was looking at ever goes on sale and she did a price match on her device and found I could get it at a cheaper price and there was no sale sign posted in the store. That was a pleasant surprise. She even informed the cashier ahead of time so I didn't have any issues at the register. Everyone seemed helpful and polite. No pushy atmosphere. Zero stars would be more like it! It's a long story of how a simple request to send a less-than-one-pound package FedEx was quoted over $100, then over $70, then over $40 to go from Oahu to Idaho. Then it's supposed to arrive FOUR DAYS later and it's now FIVE DAYS later and the tracking shows it's still on Oahu! I wanted it sent FEDEX and upon looking closer at the receipt the employee sent it USPS Priority Mail instead! For nearly $50, a very time-sensitive package is not arriving until God Knows When! Next day I take similar package to Pearl City FedEx and it cost $11.27 and arrived at same destination in Idaho in 3 days! If FedEx is going to have an office inside of an Office Max, those employees need to know what they are doing!! Called store manager named Gathen last night who sent call to the desk where FedEx is located in the print shop and all that person could say is that it left their store so no assistance was provided... all of this situation reflects poorly on both Office Max and FedEx... both names we ought to be able to trust! read more

Office Max is a well known staple (pun intended). This location in Kapolei shares it's huge parking lot with many other businesses. We came to find trays to organize and divide paperwork. I expected office Max to have items in bulk quantity over other places but their in store supply is pretty limited. The staff however is super friendly and helped by calling multiple locations to find the items for us. Definite downside is having to drive to those locations to gather what we needed. The store is pretty much empty on most days so social distancing is not an issue. I did notice they also sell cleaning supplies so it's worth checking out of the other big box stores are sold out. Huge plus is they offer curbside pick up if you order online. Saves time and conversations. read more

Computer emergency....Help I can't Yelp. I turn my computer on. Click on the google icon. Type in Yelp. I begin checking out new businesses, wavering whether to write a review, and then a luminous loud voice goes on. ****SECURITY WARNING, CALL THIS NUMBER 123-456-7890 (not real number) YOU HAVE A VIRUS***** I immediately x it out. Sure you can go on Yelp on your phone app but it's a different experience on the desktop. You can call me old school. I tell my husband to take a look at the computer and it doesn't pop up for about a week. Then I get a pop up stating I have a virus and to call a number. I try to close it but it continues to pop up. I tell my husband again. He says it's fixed but the next day it pops up. I try again to persuade my husband how bad I need the computer fixed. Me: "Babe, I need the computer fixed because I need to do stuff for work." Husband: "Well you shouldn't be bringing stuff home for work anyway." A week later. Me: "Babe, we need to get our computer fixed because our son needs it for school," I plea to my husband. "How can we ask him to strive for A's when we can't provide the means necessary to attain it?" I tell him in a concerned voice. My Husband: "Fine." Customer Service: outstanding I called first and the woman who talked to me was courteous. She answered all of my questions and because of the nice customer service on the phone, I decided to bring my computer to Office Max. A woman saw me lugging my hard drive into the store and she immediately greeted me. She directed me to where I needed to go and told me Jacob would be right with me. Jacob chopped right into business and asked me what's wrong. He asked me fill out some paper work. He asked me what what's happening. Within a few minutes of surfing on my internet he agreed that there was a virus. Jacob explained each package that they offer. He answered questions that I had. He gave me tips on how to prevent my situation from happening again. Tech Services: Office Max offers FREE PC tune-up. This boost speeds, identifies threats and checks for viruses. After the check I opted for the platinum diagnostic, repair and protection. (I snapped a picture of what the package includes). Inside the store: It's well organized and clean. The aisles are big enough for a stroller to go through. Parking: Tons of parking located in front of the store. Other products: They offer office and school supplies. Sometimes at ridiculous deal for one cent (minimum purchase required). Furniture for the home or office. A good amount of items to keep your work organized. I'm a pen hoarder and this place supplies my ridiculous addiction. Yes, I need that pen in glittery purple that has a clip because it looks pretty on the paper. Went in today around 4pm to get a grad poster made. I needed it for next day and I didn't think it would be possible but tried anyways. There were tons of orders in and they said they could get it to me in the morning which was awesome. But they said hold my beer and one up themselves calling me 3 hours later saying both posters were done and ready for pickup. Found what I wanted online, the website said they had it in stock. Went to the store and showed the worker the item I wanted from my phone and he was able to point me to the exact location. Took the item up to the register to pay and when it showed for a more expensive price I was able to show her the item price on my phone and she was able to price match it for the cheaper price saving me a lot of money. Dude. Where have I been??!? I just found out yesterday that you could order all the scool supplies and more online and pick it up in the store. It's school supply time, and what I usually do is buy some at walmart, some at long's and some at Fisher. This year I saw a sign about ordering and picking up. Then I got an email saying there woumd be an extra 30% off on top of getting cash back. I thought hey what the hell, I'll try it. I usually walk in to Office Max to buy paper or office supplies needed at home. This time, my mission was to shop here online. It made it convenient to pull up the school supply list and order down the line. I was able to donate 5% to the school and save money at ONE place. An hour or 2 later I got a notification that the items were ready for pick up, SAME DAY. So off we went to this location. My fiance trelked off and looked at the office furniture, my daughter wanted to get workbooks. While they looked i went to the cashier and I was able to pick up my kids' school supplies right at the register. The clerk double checked if everything was in the list. All the supplies were arranged neatly in a box. I was so amazed how efficient this was. This was the best school supply shopping visit ever! Saved gas, time and money! So all you parents out there having to buy supplies, try order them them online and pick up in the store. So much easier! Then you won't have ro worry about rushing to get all the supplies last minute too. read more

I went to get two large books cut into four books total. The copy and print manager said they no longer do cutting and binding of large books, that was stopped awhile ago. I told her that a friend took the same exact books to kalihi a couple of months ago and they did it. She then proceeds to tell me that even if she was able to do it the machine would cut the books crooked. Ended up going to kalihi. They said that it is done even in Kapolei, go figure!? I left the books with kalihi to do the job. I'm upset bc I live in Ewa beach, 5 miles away. I had to go to kalihi, 16 miles away, just to get what I needed only to find out that Kapolei could've and should've done the job. Now I have to go back tomorrow and pick the books up. I was on vacation from work back in December 2015 when I stepped foot into OfficeMax. I was on a mission in searching of planners to give away as gifts to co-workers. As I entered the store I was greeted right away. I figure I browse around the entire vicinity to see if there will be other items that I may purchase in the future. I noticed all the office equipments which included computers, printers/copy/fax machines in one, office chairs, desks, as well as office cabinets. Browsing around some more I noticed all the different cartridges a person may need for home or office printer. There were printer papers as well. I need to remember to purchase an extra ink cartridge for my printer. I took notice of all the other office supplies like pens, pencils, staples, stapler, paperclips, and I even found the daily/weekly planners. I also took noticed that OfficeMax have cellphone chargers and cases for individuals with a IPhone smartphone. Once I grabbed the planners I needed for my co-workers it was off to the checkout counter. I noticed there was a gift card stand near the checkout line. Many gift cards to choose from including prepaid Visa cards. I approached the checkout counter and gave the associate the items to scan. The employee was very friendly and even asked me if I wanted to join the rewards program. Which I did and I need to register the card. The transaction was done really fast and I was praying that my CC did not get declined...thank heavens it got approved and I was able to leave the premises right away. 24/200 read more

WOW, I had a situation where I needed my laptop. I hadn't even turned it on in over a year, and what most of you know, passwords are hard to remember I totally forgot mine. I ran it down to Office Max right after they opened. Walked in and said to the whole, "I need a computer guy. Over in the corner a man raised his hand. His, Robert Trachtman. I explained that I forgot my password. He noticed that the system had not been updated in a very long time. Told me he could have it updated and could have it back in a couple of days. Now the problem was I was flying out the next day and needed it back that same day. I would have taken it days ago, but was told that morning to bring a computer with me. Convenient location for me and the store is new and spacious. I still prefer the Waikele one for some reason.. I was able to get a Kindle Paperwhite during their 20% off special for only $95 + tax. Regular price is $120! They don't keep them on display out on the floor for some reason, you have to ask specifically for the Paperwhite and it's kept in the back in storage. Kind of weird. Good customer service. I got stopped about 7-8 times (literally) while in the store asking if I needed help. Almost to the point where it was getting annoying having to muster out a response to everyone when I was sick and could barely speak. read more

I went to this Office Max because it's closest to my home. On the occasions that I've been there the "Senior sales associate" Mel has the worst customer service. Today I came in with an apple product and was looking for an attachment for it. His immediate response was I've never seen anything like that without even throughly inspecting it as he was walking away. I would have understood if he was helping someone else. But he wasn't. Fortunately a regular sales associate was there to explain the situation to me. With the limited staff on hand, I would imagine that customer service would be a paramount necessity. During my shopping trip at Office Max, I walked around the store searching for a filing cabinet. I chose the one I was interested in & walked to the checkout counter. Off to the side, was a service desk with a gentleman named Mel, sitting there. as I approached him, he asked me if I needed help with anything. I told him what I needed & he assisted me from beginning to end. He actually even knew where I worked from recognizing. After paying for my purchase, he walked me to my vehicle & assisted me with putting the cabinet in my car. He was genuinely friendly & quick. Kudos to you Mel! Since we were in the Kapolei area, this location is open for business and we needed fax service. Yes, they do have fax service and faxing still exists. Some companies still only take faxes and not emails with attachments. You just go to the self copy service area and speak to an employee. The employee will have you fill out a cover sheet and fax the papers for you. It costs about a dollar something per page. read more
