Nice location with plenty of parking. The store was clean and well organized. Employees were all friendly too. Went in to buy a file cabinet and they had what we wanted. I had a printer emergency this past Monday and needed a decent-looking invitation printed. The catch was that it was 8pm, and I was about as frazzled as any procrastinating businessperson can get during crunch time! I called the store before heading over because I didn't know if my hopes would be crushed. I was connected to Rachelle in the printing area, and she explained that I could email over the PDF of the double-sided invitation and that it would be done by the time I drove to the store. WHUUUUUT?! Could it he true? Sid she just save my sanity and my life?? Sure enough, by the time I arrived at 8:20, my two invitations had already been printed, but I just had to wait behind a few people that Rachelle was helping. No worries, it gave me time to find the appropriate ink for my printer. When my turn came and I got to see the quality of my invitations, I was beyond happy with the result! Rachelle was super pleasant and helpful, both on the phone and in person. I also was also able to use the 35% off coupon for the two invitations. Came out to less than $3 for the double-sided prints! WINNINGGGGGG! If they keep this up, they might never be rid of me, mwahahaha! Seriously though, so grateful and beyond pleased with the service and the product! I second Brenton H's review. You'll pay more for stuff here, but they have fantastic customer service. I'm usually looking for something specific, and I can count on having someone help me find it the second I walk in the door. If you tell them you're just browsing, they won't hover. Plus the place is super clean. I really do like the patterns with the Divoga line of folders/binders/etc they carry. Makes office supply shopping a little more fun! Very clean location and staff that are helpful when comes to products in the store and services. I like that I can make copies and use my 'credit card' versus like the old fashion way of waiting for them to print out my information. Bad perks...if you screw up, you pay, lol. Would have given 5 stars, but their 'Free Wifi' is terrible and when I ask the staff about it, they don't know how to fix it. So I have to walk to Target's Starbuck's to check-in to OfficeMax. *This rating is for the printing department* The lazy lady (she looked about late 40's/ early 50's, choke make-up, big penciled eyebrows stands out) who tried the least to assist me irked my nerves with her lack of costumer service on 11/14/2019 roughly about 6-7pm. I'm writing this review two days late because I didn't have the time but today, I'm sippin on a nice cold drink with a whole lot of time! lol. Right off the bat, we made eye contact as I walked to the counter for service. Sis straight up sat down in front of her computer and ignored me. LOL. At this point I thought, "hmm.. ok, the devil is testing me today but I won't let him win. I'll be patient and wait because sis looks busy." So I wait. A few minutes go by and finally sis ROLLS UP TO ME IN HER ROLLING CHAIR STILL SITTING (and whatever, i know Im not the queen of England and have to be greeted properly but damn- sis was really doing the least! lol) and goes "Hi!?" I tell her what I need (Put in an order to print for later) and sis goes, "The best thing for you to do is to go online and upload your file because I can't print it right now." At this point, in my head Im like "um what? you didn't tell me this over the phone." I say, "that's fine if you can't print it right now, im in no rush, I just want to put my order in here with you." Again she say's (but this time sis added in a teaspoon of sass) "like I said, you can upload online because I can't do it right now. We have a 24 hour wait time." Me, having very little tolerance for underserving sass, is feeling my blood start to boil already. I say (all irritated already) "I know you can't do it right now, I'm just asking if I can upload it here and put in the order, with you, right now." She then shrugs her shoulders and say, "You can upload it online. We have a 24 hour wait time. You said you're not in a rush so..." The tone of her voice and the way she looked me dead in the eye while talking to me set me OFF. IDK why but my brain starts to think of other people who didnt have a computer at home to upload their document? What about the people who aren't as fortunate as I and have to bus it here just to find out information that could have been communicated over the phone? You'd just send them away too? Not because you CAN'T take their order but because you're lazy?! Lol, #clowntingz Anyway- I'm not sure what she said after "you said you're not in a rush so..." because I could feel my water spilling out of my pot already LOL I had to zone her map out because I couldn't take another word from her LOLOL. I ended up acting petty by asking her stupid questions to waste her time since she wasted mine LOL. I know, that wasn't nice and I should have left but... my pride got in the way in the heat of the moment :( lol I hate inconveniences and this one- was a big one. i needed a headset phone for work. I felt pressure to purchase separate headset and phone when even the salesman wasn't sure it would work. i was told i could bring them back if they didn't. i spent an entire Sunday trying to get them to work. i had to take them back after work the following Monday in a snow storm with slick roads and getting dark. Yesterday our home computer decided to not allow my husband to logon no matter how many times we tried and the mouse was not working consistently either. I could log on even though he couldn't. We were ready to chuck them both but decided to go to Office Max's tech department where we had a good experience with having malware removed not long ago. My husband met a Customer Service Rep in the Tech Dept. named Jacob. He hooked up our PC & did a quick (and free!) diagnostic check. He ascertained there was nothing wrong with our computer stating no malware & was secure/operating perfectly. He suggested to my husband that he remove some automatic startups on the computer which may be causing the no logon problem & change batteries in the mouse. Once home with some startup programs deleted and new batteries in the mouse, my husband was logged on & happily perusing online. Thanks to Jacob's kind & competent attention to our computer problem, we will definitely return to Office Max in Kapolei for all our computer and office supply needs. read more

Although I have to say that I am not an office supply enthusiast or a printing guru however I do know that the printing department knows their stuff. They are fast, efficient. and talented. They are all personable and they truly strive to make the customer happy. Prices are fair and turnover is quick. As for the rest of the store...it's basically what you would expect of an office supply store. Chock full of paper and pens and things to keep any administrative professional happy as a clam. I was disappointed that they did not carry calligraphy pens. I have had some poor service from the staff at the register however it was once and I can't judge a big store like this on one young girl who decided to keep conversing about the color of the backpack that she wanted instead of ringing my purchase. Do I love office supplies? Why yes, yes I do. Do i love pens? More than anyone I would say. Am I frugal? Yes, now that I have a baby, I should be more prudent on how I spend my money. We purchased a computer and a warranty from here and two years later our computer caught fire and they didn't help us at all. Gave us a number to customer service and that was it. They didn't say sorry that sucks, is your family ok, want us to take a look at it, or anything. Clearly they don't care about you after you purchase anything. I wouldn't recommend buying any electronics here because if something happens they don't give a shit. Won't be purchasing our next computer here or anything for that matter. This computer was recalled and they never told us. Thank God my husband was awake and caught the fire so no one died. I used to like getting binding done at various Office Max/Depot locations but definitely Wil avoid this location in the future. The binding was done properly but the employees made it seem like I was such a burden to them. When I dropped off my papers, one employee was editing a logo on a computer. The other was standing and looking over the other's shoulder the noticed I was at the counter. She came over and I explained what I wanted done. She said she hoped I didn't need the binding in a hurry because there was no way they would get to it that day. Sure enough, as I was leaving, she went back to looking over the other employee's shoulder. At pick up, I tried to use an unexpired coupon for a discount. Although binding was named on the coupon, no discount was applied. I asked about it and was told it was not their fault. In the past at the Waikele location, they would do a manual discount when an otherwise valid discount coupon was not work properly. I guess that spoiled me. read more

As a store in general, Office Max has nothing unique about it and generally has higher prices than everywhere else. The rare occasion I step into an Office Max store, it's usually empty. As far as this specific location, this is definitely the best one on the island. VERY customer service oriented, always friendly, and the store is always clean. Absolutely no problems. I come in every now and then to check out their clearance items and usually pick up a laptop if it's an extra good deal. They really push the warranties here like anywhere else, but once you decide you don't want it, they still do their best to help you out - not like other stores where they're no longer interested in helping you if you don't want $500 in warranties and accessories on a $400 computer. I would definitely recommend this location if you absolutely must go to Office Max. Other than that, Target is right next door, and I find Office Depot to be a better alternative if you need a true office supply store. read more

Superb customer service! I've had the pleasure of working when Sandy and Charles here. I've been desk hunting for two days now and have gone to several sites and locations today. I've finally decided to purchase a desk that I found on their website. Sandy was very helpful and informative regarding my questions and concerns. She even gave us advise to help us save money. They were going to price match for me but got me a cheaper deal. Charles helped us with loading our desk into our vehicle. He also helped me find a great printer for my needs and at a great price! Print center had been satisfactory in the past, but today was woefully unsat. They did not know how to scan a letter and make it a word or editable pdf. They complained that they were backed up and even simple items had to be left off. Talked with Gen. Mgr Gary who said that print center staff that could do what I needed would be in tomorrow. Visited this store last night to exchange an item received very poor, unprofessional service. I previously visited this store to inquire about exchanging an online purchase and was told by an associate that it would not be a problem. Arriving at the store I approached a cashier to explain my situation. She then ask the manager on duty who was sitting down to assist me with the transaction. Jake care over wearing shorts and a uniform shirt and was not very helpful and somewhat resistant to do the exchange. The MOD (Jake) said that the associate that I spoke to was wrong about exchanging the item, instead he cited company risk policy several times as the reason for not honoring the exchange. As the customer internal policies don't concern me all I wanted was to change the incorrect order sent me. At this point Jake was beginning to sound like a broken record and I realize that I reached a brick wall. Jake called is General Manager who began to sound like Jake and then some. Things the GM said was "The online branch of Office Depot/ OfficeMax are a different company and we are not the same." Another, thing the GM said was that it was "his day off". Seems that he didn't want to be bothered. Also keep in mind that we are on the phone and he threatened to hang up the phone and call the police if I interrupted him again. When I asked the GM for his name so I can write the Office Depot/ OfficeMax company he refused to give me anything more than Gary. Yet he asked for and received my full name. The associate who initially said I could return and swap the online item may have been poorly trained. Obviously from the conversations with Jake and Gary it is easily understandable why the associate is poorly trained. As managers our Team reflects our behaviors, attitudes and actions. My advice to all seeking supplies and technology, steer far away from the OfficeMax at Kapolei Commons. Been going here on my lunch break for a year now for binding which only takes them 5 min at the most for 2 books. I never had a problem because everyone would be nice so i wouldn't mind waiting but today WAS THE WORST!!!! And when they are busy I understand I will come back , but when you tell me, "Here fill this out" and slam a paper on the counter then we have a problem. And then when I ask a simple question like how long will it take , Dont yell at me. If your frustrated, don't take it out on the customer. Never met that worker before before but it's 12:00pm and saying "good thing I didn't go on my break". Jeonel, that works behind the counter of the copy machine department said that I have to wait 24 hour until he can finish my one-page legal lamination sheet. I asked him others have done it for me within 1 minute and he said that he's been busy doing other project. I said ok. This was around 7:30pm. I waited to see if he would be busy as he claims he is to where he cannot fit in 1 minute of my lamination. Me waiting, proved me right that he was walking around doing other things and some other projects that I can assure that no one is going to pick up whatever his project at that hour because it's already late in the evening. I asked him again that while he doing other things, he can laminate my sheet and it will only take 1 minute and by the time he does his other project, the lamination would be done and I'll be out of there. What he did was failed to exercise good judgement when there were more than enough time to fit me in because he was not busy as he claimed. Let alone he claims that he had a lot of projects to finish, I get it but no one is picking up that project so late at night. Not much will be lost in 1 minute had he just sacrificed 1 minute to laminate one simple sheet. But no. He still insist that he can't and have to be don't the next day! I purchased $400.00 worth of merchandise recently where Office Max was running a BOGO event. Since there was so many items, it was impossible for me to keep track of what each item rang up as. Also, I do not like that the registers do not have a display of each transaction in view of my eyes. For example, when I got home, I reviewed the receipt and OMGGGG, the BOGO did not kick in. I would think that the employee upon ringing up a bunch of Office Max products knowing its on a BOGO, that they would be cognizant of the prices reflecting correctly. NOT! I immediately returned to the store and refunded the entire receipt. The two female cashiers were also not a help. Each were having a personal conversation w each other and I asked my cashier if she needed my particular credit card to refund the money and she told me to wait and then she resumed her conversation w the other cashier. WOW! Also I relayed my concern about their errors and then she asked me what were the last four of my credit card used!????? !!!!!!!!!! I said, seriously? This is exactly why I won't shop here anymore. I cannot trust their systems or the employees. Understaffed in printing department. Once I made my way in line to the only functional self serve copier, staff rebooted the machine. This reboot takes awhile Waited made 2 copies then waited in line while staff small talked with another customer. This customer was at the computer then escorted to check out in front of me to continue chit chat. I learned all about their recent travels and current work status. Since I was invisible, I went to main check out. Total time 40 minutes for 2 copies. UPS will be my new go to copy place!! read more

It can get a little pricey here but they have a large selection of office supplies. They also have office max printer ink that may be compatible to your printer but for a lower price. They also have a program for military members where they sell you their products at their list price. Don't know what that means but saved about $10 on my bill that was supposed to be $76! Friendly service associates were very helpful with finding the ink I needed. Unfortunately I gave the wrong model number to the associate and so I had to come back. The exchange was easy. They do have books with information on ink cartridges so you purchase the correct one if you have the correct model number. Service was fast and friendly and they'll actually walk through the store with you to find your items even when you are purchasing multiple items. They get a five star for friendliness, fast service, super helpful and clean and neat store. I always come here for my office needs and the service has been consistent. Went in to make some prints & the lady behind the printing stations was Rude! She had no customer service, seemed like she didnt even want to help me. She had an attitude. Made me feel uncomfortable. It was my first time printing and i was unaware that they could put more than one picture on the page if the picture was small. (3x2 can fit 3 to an 8x10 paper) rather than her telling me that, she went on and let me print singles. What should have been 5 pages became 20 pages! Making my total a ridiculous amount.
