I went in for partial highlight - the did a bad job on my "highlights,". I wanted a bright blond. l never could tell with wet hair where the blond was. Then they did an all-over toner. I ended up with a dark blond/ light brown hair color with no depth. I went back for color correction 2 weeks later & the instructor told the student to put allover very light blond where my partial highlights would've been - it turned yellow/orange. Then, afterward, she took the towel off & I completely freaked out. The instructor put a different toner on my hair for 40 min. It got rid of most yellow/orange, but there's still prominently orange by my hairline & on either side of my part. I need it fixed before Christmas & they refused to get me in... even if an instructor needed to help. Ruined once, ruined twice... and nobody there offered to try to fix the orange by my hairline/temples before seeing friends & family at Christmas Do not get your hair done here! read more

I refused to give them a rating, but yelp said I had to select a star (0). I came to Ogle School years ago. Had a great student, but lost contact with her. I came back last year 2022 for simple pixie styles. The styles were ok but never what I requested. Tonight I decided to return for a simple flat style with little to no curls required (see pictures) . It was so simple, I just knew they could handle it. To ensure it turned out straight and flat as I desired, I paid for a relaxer. As a result, my hair looks ABSOLUTELY horrid and there is no excuse for what happened. As a matter of fact, an instructor did my hair. She said she knew it wasn't right and that it needed to be remolded. But instead of doing the RIGHT thing after acknowledging that my hair was wrong, she turned it over to the guy there. "Mr. Cedric Brown" said very funkily and unprofessionally that the students were gone, they were closed and I couldn't get a refund because the cash register was closed. I said the instructors were there and he said the instructors don't style hair they just assist the students. AGAIN, it was an instructor that did my hair‍... Yes, I paid approximately $60, but it was mine to pay. And if this is how the "Instructors" act, then I'm not sure how professional the students will be with their future clients. No matter the issue, professionalism and customer service males a great difference! One thing for sure, I CERTAINLY WILL NOT RETURN. Look at my photos and you tell me... I was recently a student at ogle in the full time esthetics program, the 5 months I was there was an absolute nightmare. The class of girls I was in was constantly being picked on by administrators & teachers. The teachers at this school care more about gossip & putting students down than teaching them any skills to help in the field. We had teachers who didn't even teach us go out of their way to come into our classroom or area to reprimand us for little things that weren't causing any harm or disruption to anyone else, such as where we were seated & various other minor inconveniences. There were constantly new rules set into place only for my grade of girls. (mind you we kept to ourselves & never bothered anyone but all the "adult" teachers made it a mission to lecture us) While other students were allowed to come & go as they pleased & make up hours in whatever fashion worked for them we were told we could only stay an hour late & that we had to have constant supervision, they forced us to sign contracts to get the hours we needed while we watched other students sit in a room for 12 hours w no supervision. The last 1-2 months we were there we weren't taught anything, the teachers would blame that on us saying we weren't using our time appropriately, but you can only do so much when you're given so little. We pay so much money, I personally had no help from my advisors & paid the $15,000 in full out of pocket & feel like I got nothing for it besides the hours I needed for state board. Teachers at this facility have even told me it was a scam. The administrators don't care to help at all & the program seems shady they only want to be in your business to lecture you, they are extremely rude & not compassionate for anything. They show you this amazing program online when you sign up & it's a completely different program when you go. Near the end multiple girls had 10+ hours missing that they took from them in hopes that we would go over our graduation date & pay more out of pocket. They frequently blocked us off the clock so we couldn't get hours & have to stay later. The facility itself is run down they don't use the money they make appropriately, out of just my class of girls the school made $150,000 just from tuition, not including the money they made off the services we did or the retail we sold. Yet we didn't have working lights, steamers, enough product or tools to use in the spa. I wouldn't recommend this school to my worst enemy the only plus I got out of this was the friends I made & the help from my teachers Ms Cynthia whiting & Ms Char. It's a complete scam & hopefully something can be done where they stop doing this. read more

I recently went in for a haircut. My first time going here at the recommendation of a friend. The young lady that did my hair was Emily. First she gave me a shampoo which felt great, then she gently dried my hair. Next she asked me how I wanted my cut to look, and she actually listened! She started slow so I could see what she was doing. A teacher came over to observe. Emily kept right on going and her teacher told her she was doing great. When she was finished and she handed me the hand mirror to look at the back, I was pleasantly surprised to see that this was EXACTLY how I wanted my hair to look. At Emily's recommendation I bought some products to use for my thinning hair. I love them, and they are part of the reason for this review. I will definitely be going back here. Ask for Emily while she is there. From what I saw, the teachers are very attentive so every student can be trusted to do their very best. DO NOT ENROLL JUAST RUN I feel very cheated out of a positive and educational school experience. The only thing that made my time there bearable was the other students I was able to connect with. The instructors were always fighting over who's way is the correct way to do certain services and the practical board exam. There is no consistency throughout the curriculum and if there is the teachers do not follow it. I was taught multiple ways to do my state board exam and now I must figure it out by myself because none of the instructors could agree. I wish I didn't waste 14k to sit in a classroom and listen to tangents for 750 hours. they were constantly out of necessary supplies such as wax, wax applicators, skin care products, and more. The spa was always dirty and poorly maintained and for the last two phases the instructor wouldn't even enter the spa because of its poor condition. good luck trying to get your exams scheduled because you must email and instructor to schedule it for you and it will take at least a week to get a response. after I completed school they sent me a survey about my experience and this is exactly what i wrote and it has once again gone without a response. read more

I went to get my hair done for a simple blow dry and haircut around 9:30 and did not leave until 11:00 The stylist was ready but we had to wait for the instructor to finish her side conversation. I'm currently a student here and I want to say DONT ENROLL AT THIS LOCATION!! this is by far the worst trade school I e attended. Not only are the front desk ladies Ameera & Janae rude they have VERY last attitudes. You can voice your concerns with the dean Dominique on how you're being treated and she WONT RESPOND. If one of the admins have a personal issue with you all of them do because they run in cliques. This is very much high school behavior. You don't get treated like an adult they antagonize you until you snap and once you respond to the bad energy they give out you're in the wrong. Dress code is all black to show professionalism yet they don't make the staff wear all black and they're the actual "professionals". The school doesn't practice what they preach nor do the care about what you have going on outside of school. The janitor is a joke, he barely cleans the school. All he does is blast his music in the parking lot & smoked weed on top of him asking students in cosmology to plug him in with drug deals!! The admins are aware of this yet do nothing ! The admins need to take courses on how to be professional bc NO ONE here takes accountability for their fuck up or show proper customer service etiquette which is quite embarrassing when you find out McDonald's workers show better class to their customers. This school is a joke and full of drama. ALSO. They only pick on one CLASS in particular when it comes to dress code. If you're friends with someone they have an issue w they will take it out on you too like children ! I was under a good care here, and had a good haircut. But yes, looks can be misleading since the place is in an obvious need for an aesthetic overhaul since it has a feel of a second hand shop. But if you can overlook that, you'd see people who are trying to give the best of the experience as the person cutting your hair (most likely a student) is also trying to make it out in the real world. Prices are more than reasonable, people are friendly, and I actually thought that for a salon school, my haircut was done pretty fast. Great school! Awesome program !! I recently graduated from Ogle 55's Esthetics Program & I couldn't have had a better experience. All the instructors (Esthetician and COS) were consistently upbeat and eager to assist. My Esthetics instructor, Ms. Claire, was always on standby ready to answer any question or help me to complete any task. We also had Ms. Monica and Ms. Crystal as Esthetic instructors which allowed us as students to receive a wealth of information from three different perspectives which I felt was an added bonus. Weekly roundup meetings and Power Hours are designed to keep fresh ideas coming at you as a student. We learned the business of esthetics, the practice concepts, had multiple weekly tests and daily theory lessons to prepare us for TDLR License Testing. I haven't tested yet, but I'm scheduled and most importantly I'm ready - Thanks to Ogle 55. read more

***Former Esthetic Student*** I absolutely do NOT recommend this school to anyone. The staff is wonderful, but the teacher turnover is outrageous. And despite how much money clearly goes into the school via tuition from over 100 students at any given time- none of it is put into the school or bettering it for the students there. The spa is outdated and shabby, the we're constantly out of supplies for the students, they were machines we were *supposed* to learn but didn't because they failed to replace them during the 5 months I was there, and their circuit curriculum style makes us learn things in an order that makes no sense. Also they have regular "student surveys" with the option to be contacted by corporate if you have any issues...and let's just say that after graduating 3 months ago, I'm still waiting on a call. I had the worst experience in this establishment. I literally walked out of the door in TEARS because my hair was absolutely ruined. I understand this is a school and I hold nothing against the student, she was sweet and I understand she is still learning. The instructor however is a whole other story. She had the audacity to ask me what was wrong with my hair when it was very clearly a disaster. Instead of stepping in and trying to correct it they tried telling me it looked good. I was so exasperated I couldn't even put the words together to express my anger and sadness by looking at my hair. To make matters worse, they actually expected me to pay $150 as I'm standing in front of them with TEARS rolling down my face. I managed to mumble out that I was NOT paying $150 for them to butcher my hair. They ended up charging me $98 and I was in such a hurry to walk out of there I just paid. I called them, and I'm waiting for a callback since they said they would forward my message to the salon manager, however I doubt they're going to be calling me back since they do not want to refund my money, or even give me a redo since my week is up. Now I'm going to be forced to spend hundreds on my hair in order to fix it. Do yourself a favor and go to a professional who will actually care about your hair and will make sure you walk out feeling great about yourself! read more

My service was almost perfect! The room was freezing and just a little bit noisy with the girls chatting right outside my little room. Whitney was absolutely a doll. She was meticulous and took her time with my facial. Cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hand massage all perfect! She was informative about my problem areas and later on offered me some products. Top rate experience with her she will do well in her field! I'm currently an esthetician student here and i do not recommend this school at all, they just take your money and dont teach you anything, its not safe at all. I was in a small class with 30 other students and we were not 6ft apart, instructors has quit on us and half are just there for a check , not teaching us anything. The school had one instructor with 4 phases, 1a,1b, 2a and 2b, how can one instructor teach 4 different phases, i have suffered as a student here and i dont think its fair, this school has lied about the percentage of graduates, 99% students here are not getting the education they need and failing the state board, and it seems like dont nobody know anything, read more

Terrible. I got my hair cut here right before my wedding and the girl that did it was very unsure of herself. Her professor jumped in and made it a million times worse!!! I ended up spending way too much time for an awful hair cut that was nothing like I asked them for, way too short, a-symmetrical which I didn't ask for, and A CHUNK OF HAIR GONE OUT OF TGE BACK OF MY HEAD!! A week before my wedding!!! The girl wasn't even the one who did the damage, the professor made her use clippers she wasn't ready for and then tried to fix her ding by MAKING IT SHORTER!!! Great hair salon!! Yes, get there in the morning and you will be out by 12noon. For color and eyebrow/lash tinting. It does take awhile but it IS a school. Kayla is great with blonde hair color. Rikki is great with eye brow/lash tinting. My hair dresser told me about this place. Impressive! I went to Aveda School hair color and they said they could not give me a platinum blonde color. I went here on a whim. I needed just a trim...that's all. Nothing crazy, nothing I didn't want a professional to do. I understand that these guys/girls are students...not YET professionals. There are older students who do a great job. I, however, did not get one of those. But you see, I understood that this is a learning facility. Holly did a decent job. She was really shy and meticulous, but still managed to miss some spots. I asked for it 'blown out' and she didn't use the round brush. The brush she used just made my hair frizzy. I shrugged my shoulders and thought, "well, I'll just fix it at home, no worries." The cut was great for what I paid - $9. You just can't beat that. It's a toss up on who you get and I couldn't imagine going on the weekend. Just go in with the understanding that these are students - not yet professionals. read more

I went to Ogle because of a deal on Groupon. The discount was AMAZING! $7 for a haircut, blow dry, and deep conditioning treatment? Yes, please! There were other amazing options as well, but I just stuck to a haircut. Anyways, I researched Ogle and got some negative reviews that scared me a little, but they were mostly over coloring and mani/pedi services. When I booked my appointment, the lady on the line was polite and she also warned me that Fridays were extremely busy. I appreciated the heads up, but I needed a haircut ASAP,so I booked for Friday anyways. When I reached the school, I was greeted by the front desk, but they looked very irked. I shrugged it off since I thought it was a busy day, but then I found out that their air conditioning was on the verge of breaking. So it was a bit steamy in the salon...but I live with my Asian parents who set the temperature at 80 degrees. So overall, I was completely fine haha!( I can't say the same for other customers though) Anyways, after ten minutes of waiting, a student named Sarah greeted me and lead me to an open chair. I got the deep conditioning treatment first. The conditioner was left in my hair for 15 minuted under a head dryer, which would help the conditioner penetrate my hair more. I knocked off a star for this part of my experience...since the air conditioning was broken, the heat from the head dryer was a bit overwhelming. For my haircut, I asked for 2 inches off the total length, shorten all of my layers, thin out the top part of my layers, and trim my bangs. Sarah did a very good job. She had some trouble with my bangs, so she asked an instructor to help out. The instructor did a great job with my bangs. She did exactly what I asked for, so I have no complaints on my overall haircut. I had a very good experience, so I'll definitely be back at Ogle in the next three months and ask for Sarah again! ***Please remember that students are cutting your hair. The service I got today at Ogle, would have been over $50 somewhere else. They work hard and have instructors watching just in case any mistakes do happen! read more

I heart this school! The prices are divine, the location is easy to navigate to, and appointments are easy to secure - sometimes even on the day-of. I've experienced hair service with Shawnelle O'Hara and have been super pleased with each appointment. She graduates soon-ish, though. I receive two facials (with "extras") a month here, from either Monique or Samantha, and couldn't be more satisfied. Because of the lowered cost, I'm able to indulge in my girly whims with no guilt. So far, both hair and facial services have been completed within a reasonable time frame, on par with professional salons. Do know, though, that since the stylists are students, your time spent in the school is easily going to be longer than typical. If you're looking for Red Door Spa atmosphere, seek elsewhere. Otherwise, for those who appreciate a discount service and a quality job performed - check them out. PS - bring cash if you wish to tip, though cards are accepted for service payment. And yes, I recommend tipping on a normal scale. I.e., 15-20% of the service bill. read more

I've gone to OGLE for occasional facial treatments. I tell ya... those students know their stuff! In my humble opinion, it's a reflection of the teachers. While getting a facial service, the esthetic teacher (I think her name is Mrs.Florez, she talked with a Latin accent) came by, looked over the students shoulder, whispered some long technical terms for acne and different kinds of moles (at least that's the impression I got), then the student explained to me what those technical terms were... Yes, I really understood... just please, don't ask me to repeat it. I'm looking forward to my next visit to OGLE. read more

Needed some quick R & R so decided to try the facial at Ogle. I think the basic facial is around $20 but I decided to upgrade to the Enzyme Facial for $32. The facial itself was awesome. My aesthetician Samantha was great. She had a sweet personality and wasn't overly talkative so I was able to relax during the entire session. I think the session lasted about 45 minutes. The only annoying part was the lady next in the next room (the "rooms" are separated by curtains) was the talkative type and had an annoying "witch-like" voice. This took away from my ability to fall asleep during the facial. As long as you don't go here expecting Spa-like services, it's a great bargain for an hour of R & R. Ogle was mush better than Paul Mitchell. I would definitely go see Samantha again, except that she is graduating this week and will be moving on. My hair had gotten super long and I decided that it was time to get a hair cut. After my experience at Paul Mitchell, I was relieved when my friend recommended this place. I looked at a list of their services/prices and was thrilled at the costs. They charge you lower for if the students with less experience cut your hair. So the next morning I drove to the North Dallas location on Preston and walked in. The receptionists were polite and one of them greeted me upon my entrance. They scheduled me for a noon appointment with an older student - as per request. I came back later around noon - arriving 15 minutes early. The same girl who greeted me earlier told me to have a seat and that "it will be a little while." I figured since I got there early, that that was fair. Ten minutes go by...the same girl says "it'll be another ten minutes." I replied with an okay. Another 15 minutes go by...and I'm starting to get irked. The same girl looks at me and says "Oh! i forgot you were sitting there let me go see if she's [the girl who would be cutting my hair] is ready." Another five minutes. You KNOW the front desk knows their stepping on thin ice when one of the other receptionists offers you water. I politely declined and began playing the "tap dance number." You know, where you constantly look at the clock on the wall, your cell phone, and your foot is tapping the floor or shaking impatiently. I was super annoyed. 45 minutes later i was finally seen...The girl who cut my hair was clearly the first one to have an available chair. She seemed apologetic for my long wait and I decided to just try and get through my hair cut without frustration. So she washed my hair, and was accommodating to my criteria for my hair. It took about an hour or so to finish, but she took her time it seemed, and made friendly small talk with me. I ended up leaving the school a little after 2pm. My bill was $9. It was a nice price to pay - but i knew they hadn't given me an older student like i had requested. But as i understand, the weekends are their busiest and on that particular day the whole school had been over booked. I'm satisfied with my hair cut and price (that was definitely reflected in my bill) but over all service made me deduct a star for this place. Unfortunately this school has outbreaks of Covid. The service is great but I do not feel safe coming to get services until they close and clean thoroughly. There was hardly any social distancing and people were coughing. Some clients continued to remove their masks and I overheard students talking about someone catching covid. Being a Cosmetologist myself and after hearing all the great things about Ogle, I decided to come and color my hair. I walked in on a Tuesday evening and had no trouble getting fitted in. Briana Nunez was my stylist and she was the sweetest. I wanted a balayage/highlight and although she never did a balayage before, she did a fantastic job. The results weren't exactly what I wanted but it was better than many places I've been to. Briana bleached, tone, shampooed and styled my hair for less than $50. Ogle is a great and affordable place to go if you're not looking to spend too much money and you're open to letting a student practice on your hair. There are instructors there so no need to worry. I am looking forward to coming back to see one of the lash extension student. read more

Being new to town I thought I'd give the local Ogle School a shot at a nail service of mani and peti. Gel nails too as I've had them for over a year and they too offer the service. It's not about the money either as I paid more prior to and after the expierence. I thought it would be nice to support the local school and community. I'm as patient as they come but, from the initial appointment I made on the phone in the morning till walking in and waiting 20 minutes before an instructor noticed me still waiting in the waiting room I sensed lack of urgency or really caring about the clients expierence.. I will not make an generalization on the students or instructors but from my observations there is a lack of communication between all parties and no sense of what "Service" is about. I hope the best to all involved but, i will not return or recommend to anyone. read more
