STOP SCROLLING! Look no further!!!! Why aren't there any 100 star options?!? It's Sunday, my awesome Maytag washer's electric board was going crazy then stopped working. Thankfully I had just put towels into washer with some detergent before the water started flowing. I called Ohana Appliance Repair and a sweet lady answered my call, on a Sunday! She informed me that I would be added to Dustin's schedule and he would get back to me. I was waiting for a call tomorrow (Monday) but a white van appeared in my driveway and it was Dustin. He was in the Mililani area and saw my name and address on the request list and decided to stop by. I was nearly in tears! My 14 year old dog just passed away, now the washer is down but this sweet gentleman made the time. Turns out that the electric board was shot, and doing a price search revealed the new electric board and labor would be pretty expensive. Dustin suggested looking into buying a new washer since fixing it would be over half of what a new washer would cost. I asked Dustin if he accepted Venmo so I could pay him for the consultation. Dustin politely refused payment. It's a Sunday, Dustin could've very well been at home with his lovely wife and their new puppy, (yes, we shared our love of dogs with each other). Found 'Ohana Appliance Repair on Yelp. Called a few other places, but they could come the soonest and loved all the positive reviews re: washing machines. Dustin let me know it was $100 to come out. That made sense to me. Time is money. Our washing machine smelled like burnt rubber and still had soap inside after finishing a wash, so I knew something was wrong. Dustin came out and was very friendly and explained exactly what he was doing. Right away he found two socks in the belt. He explained that this wasn't my fault. It can happen with this type of machine pretty easily. He ran it a few times and explained it was working. What a huge relief! I'm pregnant and it's horrible timing for a new machine. He instructed me how to turn the power back on to the W/D and to run it later that afternoon and to let him know it's working and he would get back to me with invoice. I ran it a couple times and texted him next day that it was working. Yay! He called and let me know the total was $150. No parts were needed so this was for him to come out and repair machine. Dustin came on June 29 th and he diagnosed that our dryer needed a new mother board. We paid him for the motherboard $450, and he said he'd be back in 4 - 5 weeks when the part arrived. I called too late in the day but Dustin came before lunch the very next day. He showed me what the problem was and the exact replacement part to order online. I should have known from the person taking the calls that this might not be the place to go with but there were good reviews so I just thought she had a bad day. The repair guy (he never introduced himself so I don't know his name) is a nice guy but unorganized and doesn't communicate well. First of all, I helped him diagnose the problem with my ice maker. After he ordered the part (he said would come in 5-7 days) after two weeks I had to contact him to find out what's going on. He don't know. He said he'll get back to me but another week passed and still nothing. Finally I contact him and he said the part just came in (kind of skeptical about that). Then he's making like he's so busy he can't install I. He finally comes and guess what he couldn't install it. He's asking me for advice? Finally I told him let's not waste anymore time and I'll find someone else to install it. I looked up a video on how to do it and did I on my own! At least he didn't charge me for coming out. Again nice guy but lacking in a lot of ways. I would find somewhere else to go with. read more

Poor customer service! We do Not recommend this service. Our washer would not drain so found Ohana Appliance Repair on Yelp. Dustin came and thought he fixed it, but still had the problem. He came back twice more in the couple days. He indicated he could fix our washer. We had him order another part. He said it would take a couple of weeks. After about 10days, called and he said it would come any day. He said he would apply some of the more than $400 paid so far toward next visit when part arrived. We waited 3 more weeks. During that time, called to make an appt but no reply. Dustin did not return any of our calls to his office or his cell phone. Stopped calling and bought a new washer instead. Only giving four stars cause our fridge was not serviceable so we didn't really have anything experience wise to correctly rate them on. Our main / kitchen fridge stopped cooling off this past weekend and after searching around we came across Ohana Appliance Repair so we called on Sunday around 1:00 pm and left a message. We never got a call back so 8:30am on Monday I called again and got a hold of someone who told me Gary is available between 11:00 and 1:00 today. He would call prior to arriving at our house. He arrived and after a short review stated it's either the compressor or the workings and since the compressor seemed to be running it's the workings of the unit. Since it's a "closed system" he could repair it but it will Jenner be as good as new and someone would prob need to come back again and again to fill it Freon. Glad he was being upfront and honest but didn't give me an estimate of the cost for that service or rally let me decide off it's something I'd wanted to do or not. We have another smaller fridge so our need was not too pressing but it wasn't given as an option. Yelp questions were: 1) Are they a good value? I'd like to say yes but be it good or bad when Gary the service tech arrived after a quick check he let us know Its not worth fixing. 2) Are they responsive? Not at first as I had to call back the next day. 3) Are they reliable? Can't really say. They didn't fix anything Will I call them gain if I have a need? It's unfortunate I have to leave a one star review, but it's sadly warranted. Things started out great- I called them for a refrigerator service call as my tenant's fridge power was going on and off (and currently off for good) and Dustin was able to get me in the next morning. I was at work when the repairman came, but he called me after to tell me he diagnosed it as a faulty compressor. $1500-2k to fix, so better to just buy a new fridge. It was a bummer to hear that, but at that point, I needed to replace it. I went to Lowe's and dropped $1800 on a new fridge that was delivered 3 days later. To my shock, my tenant informed me that when the delivery guys came, they plugged the fridge in and the same thing happened with the new fridge- power wasn't working. Delivery guys said call an electrician. The next day, an electrician came and swapped out the outlet and the problem was solved. Thus, I then became very suspicious that my original fridge wasn't broken at all (however it was already taken away by Lowe's removal service, so no getting it back). I spoke to my tenant's mom who was home when the technician came and I was blown away to find out he didn't lay a hand on the fridge to actually inspect or test it. Now we definitely wasted nearly $2K unnecessarily. I gave this company a chance to make it right by leaving them a voicemail and asking for a call back. No reply. Then last week, I called again and left a message with someone asking for a call back. Still silence. Totally unacceptable. Consumer beware. read more

Yep... It always happens on a Weekend, right? The internal hose for the water dispenser in my refrigerator began leaking... Not good because I'm in a building with many flrs below. I was able to shut off the water source, so the frig was still running. I called Ohana Appliance Repair on a Sunday and was so glad they answered! They scheduled a repair technician to come Monday (next day.) The repair person was on time and was super efficient in repairing the culprit (a cracked dry plastic hose).
