Coming from a matcha girly, I'm telling you the hype is real! I got the Einspanner which consists of a matcha base coated on the walls topped with a thick layer of house-made cream. It was rich, earthy, & sweet. I can't forget to mention how beautifully deep that matcha color is! 10/10, would get again. Seriously need to try their other drinks.. hmm maybe the banana matcha latte next time!
Located in Kakaako, Ohana Hui is a stand in/by the parking lot of Anytime Fitness and other businesses. The purple-ish stand features a small menu of matchas. Among the matchas are the matcha einspanner and matchata (horchata matcha). We went to try the matcha einspanner because I have not really seen this on menus in Hawaii, and love this drink! We had some difficulty with the parking because the lot is quite small, and street parking can be difficult to find. We ended up finding a spot and got in line. We have grown used to seeing a line when we drive by, and this day was no different. The wait was not too bad. The people working were pretty quick. However, they were out of a couple of their drinks when we got to the front. This would have been a bummer if we wanted one of the other drinks. They did have the einspanner though! We got the einspanner, which was good. The drink was creamy and sweet. It was $9, which is a bit high for us. Not the highest we have seen from matchas at different businesses, but still a bit pricey for us. While the drink was good, it was a bit more of an effort to find parking and wait in line. I would also be concerned the drink I want would be gone by the time I get there. While they may have just been short on supplies that day, the smaller menu can make it more challenging to find alternatives to what one might want.
If you're looking for a dessert type of matcha you have found the place. I am a big fan of einspanner having to travel 4 times a year to Southern California. Hawaii wasn't doing einspanner till all of the matcha pop ups. Don't get confused about the HI Cravings açaí bowl truck. It is under new ownership the Ohana hui has taken over. Located in the same parking lot as anytime fitness. Only thing is I can't see them making the matcha being made and they are banging these out pretty quick. I like to watch the matcha being freshly whisked. I was in a line with 8 people in front of me an I got to the front in less then 10 min and got my drink 5 min after ordering. They have it down. Good sweet matcha. Try it out
Decided to get a matcha after a very unsuccessful brunch experience! Lines were long but something to be expected on an early weekend afternoon. They do not skimp out on the matcha here! They use 5g of matcha which on the higher end of matcha servings for typical cafe drinks. You will definitely taste the matcha flavor and if you are sensitive to caffeine, please sip responsibly. Our group ordered a variety of different flavors to share. I had the ube flavor which was nice and creamy, I think I could do with a little more sweetness and ube flavor to curb the end of bitterness in each sip. Ube is a gentle flavor that has custard and vanilla notes that can be overpowered by matcha. Don't get me wrong, I love uji matcha but I think it could be a little more balanced. Overall, still tasty and would order again! I also thought the banana and machata were really solid! I would have to say that my favorite was the machata. It was sweet and that cinnamon flavor came through perfectly! If you are a matcha enthusiast and don't mind waiting in line, this is definitely a spot to try!
This is a super popular matcha spot and I can see why. Their menu is tiny (only 5 drinks) but they're all super popular. We got the matcha einspanner and the banana matcha. Normally we don't really like banana drinks because they taste artificial, but this one was actually really good, there were real banana pieces on top and it didn't have that fake banana flavor at all. I will say the drinks are kind of pricey (around $9 each), but they're really filling, so it's not your typical small matcha. They're definitely on the sweeter side, but not overwhelming. Parking can be a little tough when it's busy, and because it's blown up on Instagram/TikTok, it does get crowded. It's also just two ladies working out of a small box next to a gym, which is super unique and feels very local. Would try again.

What a great spot. It's right on the literal corner of crossroads with very minimal parking. Probably best to walk or have someone drop you. The line moves quick as the girls working have a quick system down. The menu isn't huge but lots of great flavors. I ordered the banana and that is a MUST amazing. The service was amazing too. They were so friendly I can't wait to go back.
Heard about their new flavor, Matcha with Horchata. This was a delicious and refreshing cold beverage with oatmilk, cinnamon, and it wasn't too sweet. Really nice touch with the crunchy bits of cinnamon cereal topping! In a very small parking lot, stall availability is limited. If you're walking from nearby offices, then no problem. Good thing service is quick! My only wish is that they opened earlier. Currently they open at 10 a.m., which means I've normally had some caffeine already. My friend enjoyed his matcha strawberry topped with pieces of dehydrated strawberry slices. We will certainly return to try their other matcha flavors.
Ohana Hui Cafe is truly serving the best matcha on the island right now. If you're a real matcha lover and not just someone who likes sweet green drinks, this place absolutely delivers. Their menu focuses on Uji matcha lattes with different whipped foam toppings, and you can immediately tell they use high-quality matcha. The matcha is a beautiful, vibrant green, smooth and earthy with zero bitterness aftertaste. It's also not overly sweet, which I really appreciate--you can actually taste and enjoy the matcha itself instead of it being drowned out by sugar or syrups. I ordered the matcha strawberry drink, and the topping was excellent. The strawberry whipped foam was thick, creamy, and well-balanced, with crushed strawberries mixed in for texture and real fruit flavor. It paired surprisingly well with the matcha--fresh, lightly sweet, and not artificial at all. The foam-to-matcha ratio was perfect, making every sip consistent and intentional. The menu also features other creative combinations like matcha banana, matcha ube, matchata (horchata foam), and matcha einspanner, all highlighting the same quality matcha base with different flavor profiles. You can tell a lot of thought went into crafting these drinks rather than just chasing trends. Overall, the drinks feel carefully made, refined, and high quality. I liked it so much that I got one yesterday and I'm already driving back today to try more flavors, which says everything. A new matcha place in town! Ohana Hui Cafe is a matcha stand based out of a food truck, located at the corner of a small parking lot along Queen Street. I would advise finding street parking a block or two down, since the parking lot is usually full and it can get pretty busy during lunch. Service is super friendly and quick; they will hand you a number and call your order number when it's finished. I've tried several of their drinks, and my favorite would have to be their matcha einspanner, especially as there aren't any cafes on island that make this drink (I think). The drink itself isn't too sweet, and the cream on top is luxurious paired with the matcha. I also like the strawberry matcha, which is topped with a thick creamy layer of strawberry foam. My least favorite would be the horchata matcha, unfortunately -- I found that this variation was way too sweet for my liking, compared to their other drinks which are just moderate amount of sugar. All in all, I love coming back here to indulge in some matcha.

They have five drink items on their menu offered with either whole or oat milk and all one size. We ordered the Matcha Einspanner and Matcha Strawberry, both with oat milk. Matcha quality is good! Their drinks are a bit more on the sweeter side. Einspanner has a thick foam so it comes with a spoon and strawberry has toppings that add a crunch to the drink. We enjoyed both! Drinks are vibrant and aesthetically pleasing. Definitely will be back to try the rest of the menu items! Parking is very limited but luckily we were able to find street parking right out front.
Lots of new matcha places lately and I keep saying each one of my new favorite, but that just speaks to the quality of the matcha stands popping up. Anyways, probably the best matcha I've had, or at least a top contender since we have so many good places here in HNL. I had the ube matcha, my sister got the strawberry, and my daughter got the banana. Each one was delicious, perfect blend of matcha and sweet flavors. I guzzled it down and want to try the whole menu. Perfect for those of us that like matcha to be sweet and not bitter. The servers were sweet and apologized for the wait but it was super quick anyway. Parking can be a challenge since the lot is small but there's almost always a spot at the park a block away, probably good for a walk to burn off the calories anyway. Will definitely return!
Soooo...I made the trek to this Matcha truck that has been on my list for a long while. The line was long at 10 minutes before opening so you know it's gonna be good. I just want to say...Thank You to Ohana Hui for making a quality product at an affordable price. I was very surprised on how the prices..in a happy way! The service was great too. Please consider making a second location on the central side. I will be there everyday! 100/10 recommend people! read more

I went to Ohana Hui 3 times now, and it's become one of my favorite matcha spots! Their matcha is more dessert-y than others, but I love all their fun concoctions! My first impression started off weak due to one unfriendly employee, who also messed up my order--but since then I haven't seen her, and the team members I have seen are so nice despite the heat and busy long lines. Each drink costs just under $10 with tax. You can choose oatmilk or whole milk. Be sure to follow their instagram account to check for business hours, new drinks and updated menu! I've noticed the wait for drinks is much shorter now too! So glad this business is located close to my work--the perfect pick me up! Highly recommend. Parking can be tricky, but there are metered spots nearby and some in a shared lot with a gym. read more
I really love the customer service here the staff are friendly, welcoming and truly delightful, which makes the experience even better. I ordered the strawberry matcha latte with oat milk. The flavor was lovely and the matcha itself was smooth, but it was a bit too sweet for my taste. Next time, I would definitely go with about 25% sweetness. Overall, great vibes and warm service. I would happily come back again and just adjust the sweetness level on my drink. read more

Matcha was nowhere near bland at all (my fear when trying new matcha out hehe) n' kept its flavor throughout, the foam on top was creamy n' sweet. One of my new favorite matcha stops. Located where once was Hi Cravings is now Ohana Hui Cafe. Yes its operated out of a (rather permanent) food truck. Tho I havent seen this truck move in years! What occupies this space now, a new matcha business. The hype on Instagram is real. This place serves a solid uji matcha drink/dessert. Open six days a week (closed only Mondays right now). There always seems to be a short line when I drive by. Today, with a short line of maybe 5 people I jumped in. Didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for a friendly greeting and taking of order. And what RJ, Cindy, Kahea created for me today was BROKE DA MOUTH delicious, refreshing, substantial. Today I enjoyed a banana matcha latte. Can't wait to try the matcha einspanner or the ube matcha latte or strawberry matcha with strawberry cold foam... get out of here! Ohana Hui Cafe, welcome to my neighborhood. Hope I don't get cancelled for saying this, but matcha in Honolulu is generally terrible compared to the best LA/ OC spots. However, this is the only matcha I tried that competes! I would go for the Banana Matcha if you like banana or the Matcha Einspanner for a strong matcha flavor. I got the Strawberry Matcha but the ratio was off, and it tasted more like strawberry milk. read more

My brother and I made a trip to Ohana Hui Cafe during the first Kona low storm and boy, was the line long!! That being said, the baristas were efficient and we were out of the rain in less than 15 min despite being 7-8th in the queue. I had a horchata flavored drink and my brother the banana, both of which were true to name in flavor and visual appeal. The drink itself was quite sweet, which I'm not sure was customizable, but a nice dessert/treat rather than your daily matcha caffeine fix. All of their drinks are now $9 ea, so it's pricey, but what isn't these days. read more
Hands down the best matcha I've had on the island! I've been to Ohana Hui many times and have tried almost their entire menu; while the Einspanner and Strawberry Matcha are delicious, I highly recommend the Matcha Banana or Matcha Ube. The staff is incredibly friendly, and although the line can get long, they work so quickly that the wait is never an issue. The truck is located in a small gym parking lot where spaces are tight, so street parking is definitely your best bet. 10/10 would recommend! read more
Matcha Melekalikimaka... It's what in the cup sleeve as cute and accurate it is let tell you how excited I am to find the right in Kaka'ako. With just three days in unless you know finding them is the first challenge they're taking over the Hi Cravings trailer in the lot of the Anytime Fitness but will wrap the trailer in about a week all that matters is that how they're serving here. Matcha and using Uji ceremonial grade might not impress some but how about 5g in every drink! Oh so I had to see this for myself and yes it's just been a few days so it's just a simple menu of their soft phase and don't let that think it's not much each are the popular and trending sips... - MATCHA EINSPANNER - MATCHA UBE - MATCHA STRAWBERRY - MATCHA BANANA So yes I was at a dilemma but managed to decide on the Banana and woah what a sip...not sweet at all which I love but still the supporting flavor of banana is definitely there oh the heavenly sip was nice and creamy as I chose to have it with Oatmilk. I'm hoping they get to expand their hours soon since it's Tuesday to Sunday (closed Mondays) 10am to 4pm but the guy who runs his was a delight and though it's a grab and go location vibe it still offer a great crafted drink. Ohana Hui Cafe has been all over my social media feed as one of the (if not THE) best matcha lattes on the island. I can now say, the rave reviews are legit! I wanted to try their most basic drink for my first time here, so I got the regular matcha latte, which still came with a sweet cold foam. This was like drinking matcha icecream: luxurious, rich, and creamy. Given that I've definitely seen and unfortunately bought $9-$11 matcha lattes at other places that were too watery, too milky, or weak on the matcha flavor, paying between $7-$8 here for a delicious matcha latte with sweet cold foam is really not bad. They also offer strawberry, banana, and ube matcha lattes, and they're most expensive at $9, the matcha einspanner. I'll definitely be back here again, though maybe when the line is a little shorter. Waited about 20 minutes to order and get my drink. read more
Got the matcha einspanner and overall it's a pretty good dessert drink. The cream has a good consistency where it's drinkable, mixable, and not too whipped. Can definitely taste the matcha! You can also taste the vanilla and it reminded me of eating matcha ice-cream. I did find it just a little bit too sweet for my preference. When I got to the truck, there was a line but it's not that bad of a wait. It is pricey since it's about $9, but I would get this again. read more

Alright where do I start? The parking lot? Lowkey tiny and can get chaotic but it's ok, we'll endure because this place slaps! In all seriousness though my friend told me about this truck! She said "if you do anything while in Hawaii, you HAVE to try Ohana Hui". You know me, I can be easily influenced so of course I scurried down to try their matcha. I've become a bit of a matcha enthusiast over the past year. Was never really crazy about it before but after having tried really good matcha, I suddenly became a bit of a matcha lover. Anyway, I ordered the einspanner and it was amazing!! I had a difficult time pronouncing it but the employee taking my order was very nice and patient. He asked me if it was my first time there (as if it wasn't obvious with my atrocious mispronunciation ) and told me the drink needed to be mixed. Made sure to do as instructed! This was genuinely such a good einspanner. I will definitely be coming back and understand the hype. I mean just look at the color! Would recommend. read more
At first we were confused because the outside is HI Cravings all over, but the are the ones in the HI Cravings trailer. They don't have a sign or anything, but if you see a line you're in the right place. I got the matcha strawberry and at first I didn't it all together and it was a little bitter, but once I had everything mixed it was good! My friend got the Matchata and she said it was good. Current menu offering of 6 options: Einspanner which has espresso, Banana, ube, horchata, strawberry or earl grey. Which I tried. I was impressed. I can see why there is always a line for this truck. I was expecting my drink to be too sweet on the flavor or heavy on the matcha concentration. Neither were true. It was very well balanced . I enjoyed the earl grey and plan on going back to try the other flavors. Oh, and the line looks long but it moves rather quickly. read more

BEST MATCHA IN HAWAII. These drinks were amazing, I ordered them less sweet although they can't really reduce the sweetness which kind of sucks honestly. But overall they still tasted amazing, the cold foams were delicious. The truck is located on a tiny lot so you may or may not get lucky with parking. The lines do get long sometimes as well. This place is worth the wait, especially since other matcha spots don't compare here. read more
Obsessed. That's it. I will go out of my way for their drinks. I would find parking near by and walk. I would stand in line. Never tried matcha drinks like theirs! Flavorful, made with care and love, with great customer service. They only have 1 size which isn't a problem because the drinks are so tasty, you will finish the drinks. So far I've gotten the strawberry matcha and einspanner. Obsessed with the einspanner and the thick vanilla cream on top! So tasty. Strawberry matcha is great and the strawberry cream on top is perfect. Their line moves quite quick and you'll get your drinks in a timely manner. So don't be put off if there's a line...plus it's worth it. Hope they continue to do what they do at this level - everything is perfect. read more

Went here by chance. Ran into my friend on the road and decided to join in on their matcha stop. Ordered the matcha einspanner. Didn't know what to expect. But it was very creamy. I did like it cuz the matcha was strong and it had the creaminess to it. But you have to like that part of it or else I don't think you will like it. We ordered and got it quickly. They gave me instructions on how to enjoy the einspanner. Very helpful. I want to go back just parking, you have to pay in the parking lot. read more

If you're looking for a rich, bold matcha with fun, delicious, flavors Ohana Hui is THAT spot. The only problem I have coming here is having to physically withhold myself from ordering multiple drinks because I've tried every flavor... and they're all SO GOOD. If I'm in the mood for something rich and creamy, their einspanner is hands down the best I've ever had. Perfectly balanced, smooth, and indulgent without being overly sweet. My runner-ups are the banana, matchata, and ube.. all packed with flavor while still letting that strong, quality matcha taste. Beyond the drinks, the staff are genuinely sweet and kind. You can tell they really care about their craft and take their time making each drink just right. Hands down my favorite matcha spot on the island. If you love bold matcha done right, this is the place. read more

We had to try this viral matcha place. It's located at the old HI Cravings food truck in the same lot as Anytime Fitness. I liked the matcha einspanner the most because of the strong matcha flavor on it. I found it more like a dessert than a drink (latte). The matcha banana and matcha ube are on the sweeter side. You can choose between coconut shavings or oreo topping on the matcha ube. I tried to pay with cash for the first time and they didn't have change. Went again for the second time on a different day (not remembering the first I visited) and they still didn't have change, not sure if they don't actually take cash and if it's card only. Be sure to bring exact amount of cash or pay with card. Parking can be hard, you can find street parking around the area. read more

Had to try the Matcha Banana. The bottom was matcha layered with banana sweet foam and topped with cookie crumble and slices of banana. This drink was refreshing and the combination of matcha and banana was delicious. Next drink on my list to try is the strawberry matcha. read more

Matcha was great. Very matchy and sweet, which is how we like it. Only 5 flavors to choose from and one of them is out (and i think it was seasonal too). Although the matcha was good, menu was short and sweet, long line. Would visit again when we are in the area. The einspinner had a thick consistency which was definitely different but it was good and pretty looking. read more
