I would go for the Banana Matcha if you like banana or the Matcha Einspanner for a strong matcha flavor. Hands down the best matcha I've had on the island! I've been to Ohana Hui many times and have tried almost their entire menu; while the Einspanner and Strawberry Matcha are delicious, I highly recommend the Matcha Banana or Matcha Ube. The staff is incredibly friendly, and although the line can get long, they work so quickly that the wait is never an issue. The truck is located in a small gym parking lot where spaces are tight, so street parking is definitely your best bet. 10/10 would recommend! read more

I LOVED their banana matcha. It was SO good with hint a nuts on top which later sank to the bottom but made the texture change great! The strawberry was still good but unfortunately could barely taste any strawberry in it. The parking was also difficult to find since there were no openings in the lot. Also with it being my first time there it was difficult to locate since it's a food truck and I wasn't aware that they functioned out of it. Street parking isn't too hard to find just be aware you most likely will have to pay meter parking. Other than that I would come back to have another matcha here any time. read more

My brother and I made a trip to Ohana Hui Cafe during the first Kona low storm and boy, was the line long!! That being said, the baristas were efficient and we were out of the rain in less than 15 min despite being 7-8th in the queue. I had a horchata flavored drink and my brother the banana, both of which were true to name in flavor and visual appeal. The drink itself was quite sweet, which I'm not sure was customizable, but a nice dessert/treat rather than your daily matcha caffeine fix. At first we were confused because the outside is HI Cravings all over, but the are the ones in the HI Cravings trailer. They don't have a sign or anything, but if you see a line you're in the right place. I got the matcha strawberry and at first I didn't it all together and it was a little bitter, but once I had everything mixed it was good! My friend got the Matchata and she said it was good. Got the matcha einspanner and overall it's a pretty good dessert drink. The cream has a good consistency where it's drinkable, mixable, and not too whipped. Can definitely taste the matcha! You can also taste the vanilla and it reminded me of eating matcha ice-cream. I did find it just a little bit too sweet for my preference. Alright where do I start? The parking lot? Lowkey tiny and can get chaotic but it's ok, we'll endure because this place slaps! In all seriousness though my friend told me about this truck! She said "if you do anything while in Hawaii, you HAVE to try Ohana Hui". You know me, I can be easily influenced so of course I scurried down to try their matcha. There are so many new matcha places popping up recently, and by so many I mean SO many... But I can confidently say Ohana Hui Cafe stands out among those as some of the best new matcha I've had. They're located in the old HiCravings acai truck on Cooke and Queen St, which I didn't even realize closed. I can expect this business to get busier as word gets out. The 2 times I went, there was either no line or 2-3 people in line. The signature drink of theirs is the matcha einspanner, a rich matcha made with milk, concentrated matcha, and plenty of sweet cream foam on top. They serve this drink with a spoon so you can stir it from the top and scoop up some of the cream. This felt like more like a dessert than a drink. The cream on top is super rich, and the matcha flavor remains concentrated after stirring. I've also had the banana matcha, with a cream on top that tastes just like banana pudding. Both drinks are on the sweeter side, so I recommend asking for less sweetness if you're not looking for a dessert-drink. I'm impressed that even though I got the drinks with oat milk, they were still very creamy. Granted, I think the cream on top still has dairy. The workers are so kind as well every time I come. I did like it cuz the matcha was strong and it had the creaminess to it. But you have to like that part of it or else I don't think you will like it. We ordered and got it quickly. We had to try this viral matcha place. It's located at the old HI Cravings food truck in the same lot as Anytime Fitness. I liked the matcha einspanner the most because of the strong matcha flavor on it. I found it more like a dessert than a drink (latte). The matcha banana and matcha ube are on the sweeter side. You can choose between coconut shavings or oreo topping on the matcha ube. I tried to pay with cash for the first time and they didn't have change. Went again for the second time on a different day (not remembering the first I visited) and they still didn't have change, not sure if they don't actually take cash and if it's card only. My friends and I stopped by to pick up matcha before heading to the beach on Wednesday afternoon. I was pleasantly surprised to see no line when we arrived, given that everyone had mentioned long lines in their reviews! Their menu is limited, but I consider that to be a good thing since they've really honed in on their drinks. Service here was very fast and friendly. I got a Matcha Ube and tried some of my friend's Matcha Einspanner. The drinks (especially the einspanner) had a strong matcha flavor. I loved the ube foam on mine. I do have to say that after I tried my friend's einspanner my ube matcha didn't have a lot of flavor in comparison. I just want to say wow. I was visiting hawaii for 7 days as a birthday trip last week and heard great things about this place so I knew i had to give this place a try during my visit. Coming from LA and having all types of matcha this place really stood out to me. We had the original matcha einspanner, banana matcha, and the uba matcha. If you're looking for a perfect simple creamy matcha the einspanner is the best choice and my personal favorite. 10/10. The banana matcha was also excellent with nice crunchy texture to it as well as the banana touch. my least favorite was the ube matcha but I'm also not the biggest fan of ube. With that being said I had this place 3 times before coming back from my trip. Still thinking about it and saddened that I won't be having it until my next hawaii trip. Sweet spot to go to for a refreshing drink on a hot day. I got the Einspanner (I think that's what it was called), and my husband got the Ube Matcha. The guy helping me was super nice (extra points for the Fitted hat). He asked me if I ever had the Einspanner before, and when I told him I hadn't he told me to how to make the most out of my drink (drink a bit of the cream on top and really mix the matcha into the drink since it's on the walls of the cup.
