New favorite cafe alert!! This location opening right by the university was like a blessing from heaven. I was in desperate search of a beautiful cafe with fast wifi. I've been here like nearly everyday for the past few weeks. The tiny complaint I have is they don't have that many outlets. But, the matcha was great. Tried the gelato and personally it wasn't my favorite. I do not recommend the ube matcha latte though, prettty grainy.

07/19/2026 and 07/23/26. This review is for my second and third visit here at Maruwu Seicha Moili'ili. A perfect place to relax and have a fantastic matcha customized drink here. On 07/19/26 I tried the Strawberry Matcha Latte, half sweet, with almond milk and Matcha soft serve of Pistachio gelato! 5/5 stars here! Smooth and delicious combination. Please try this combination. On 07/23/26- I selected a Yuzu Matcha Soda with Crystal boba. It's an "Exclusive in Hawaii" drink. 4/5 stars. It's definitely a strong Matcha and Yuzu flavored drink. I could have easily watered it down with more ice. I drank this refreshing beverage slowly to let the ice melt. Service is 4.5 stars here. The trash can was full today 07/23/26 and the unisex bathroom was unclean. I think this place is very busy. Hopefully, a clean up routine will be established soon. Lots of table space indoors and outdoors. Great for students, online workers and everyone who wants a place to chat, chill out or get work done. Free parking in the building.

Came here last week to see what all the buzz was about, since they opened two locations rather recently. Parking is free and easy in the structure located around the side of the complex. The interior is brightly lit and designed in a trendy way. We ordered an Ube matcha latte and the parfait. The matcha latte itself had good matcha flavor and wasn't too sweet. I was extremely disappointed by the parfait which looked like a kiddy cup of soy milk gelato and soy jelly with miniscule amounts of other little accoutrements. The soy flavored dessert elements were mediocre. The best thing about that kiddy cup sized parfait was the matcha no. 3 gelato, which I would get separately. I mean, it's a nice franchise and this location is great for university students who want a quick matcha and sit to study there. The desserts are not impressive. Their tarts are laughably small, too, and did not look appetizing. I don't think I'd go out of my way to have this again though.

Honeydew Double Matcha Smoothie - whole milk. Really refreshing. A seasonal special beverage. Everything I've tried at Maruwu Seicha in Mo'ili'ili and Waikiki...is like a Shohei Ohtani homerun. Outside seating is now available.

Amazing matcha! I got the matcha latte with the snow top and 100% recommend the snow top. It's a layer of cream cold foam that makes such a big difference! There's free parking inside the structure, and there were a lot of people studying/working when I went. It's a lot bigger inside than I thought- there's a lot of seating and space. Aside from matcha, they have a few tarts for sale but not much in the way of real food. Overall would come back!

I had to check out this place since Nadine, Irene and Jackie gave this establishment 5 Stars . New trendy spot I guess located next door to Jersey Mikes and Raising Cain. Ground floor of the UH Hale Mahana apartments. I just stopped to try their cheesecake tart and it was well worth it . Very light not too sweet and creamy cheesecake taste. They also sell UBE along with Matcha . Personally I'm not a Matcha guy so I decided to pick up 3 cheesecake tarts to take home . Service was fast and friendly this place should do well since you have all the UH students right above the shop . I guess the trick is to go on a Sunday which metered parking is free . I can imagine since this place has a limited parking situation it will be very hard to find parking M-Sat. Support local

Love this place! I ordered the strawberry matcha latte with oat milk and it was so good! You can customize the sweetness level to your liking and the drink had the perfect matcha level. I don't like it when the drink tastes too milky and this had a great matcha taste. The cafe itself is super cute and had a decent amount of seating. It's located in the same building as raising canes and there is customer parking in the parking garage behind the shops.

TL;DR Lovely matcha beverages. Spacious and luxurious interior design. ----- I'm on the quest to find the best matcha cafe in Honolulu. There are a couple places vying for the top spot currently, but there's no clear winner at the moment. Maruwu Seicha is rapidly climbing the leaderboard. Maruwu Seicha is located in the Hale Mahana building in University Square near the Jersey Mike's restaurant. The interior is gorgeous. It's a beautiful and relaxing space. I have typically picked up my drink and quickly departed, but I could definitely envision myself during my college days posting up at a table and enjoying my drink as well as the ambiance. I've visited Maruwu Seicha twice and both times ordered the large Strawberry Matcha Latte with oat milk. It's fantastic. The matcha is earthy umami, the milk is velvety, and the strawberry puree is perfectly sweet and adds great texture.

Located at nearby UH area next to Raising Cane's. Free parking at the structure. Th cafe is very clean and modern. Service is pretty good. I always go to the one in Waikiki. However, they don't have any parking at the Waikiki area. This new one will be my favorite place to go for Matcha. Matcha Soda - 9/10 - very rich matcha flavor and they can adjust the sweetness. Hot Black Sesame Hojicha - 10/10 - must try! Very rice black sesame flavor and not too sweet. It's a good place for family and friends gatherings. Highly recommend!

Refreshments in Honolulu, Hawaii... *Free covered parking *Clean, spacious, pleasant, bright interior *Convenient restroom *Efficient, friendly service *Quality products These are the most important components of a five-star experience for me. Add-ons for an excellent visit include comfortable indoor and outdoor dining areas, charging ports for customers, decorative lighting, appropriate decor, etc. Maruwu Seicha Moili'ili has it all! The soft serve was fresh and smooth! The parfait was beautiful and delicious! The yuzu matcha soda (Hawaii exclusive) was healthy and intense! Thank you, Irene, for suggesting that we meet here! Thank you, Cece, for a fabulous foodie adventure!

Maruwu Seicha's (second Moiliʻili location) will quickly become a favorite for its cozy, modern atmosphere, friendly service, and high-quality matcha drinks. First time visiting we decided to order the Yuzu Matcha Soda ($7.90), and the Matcha Pistachio Latte ($7.90). The matcha soda was not it for me. I realized I don't think I like carbonation with my matcha. The Latte however is my new favorite! I loved the creamy pistachio and bold matcha taste. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try any of the desserts this time, but I will definitely be back to try the Japanese cheese tarts and soft serve.

A social media ad got me obsessed. I love Matcha so I was on a mission to find this place! Maruwu Seicha is located at the corner of University and S King St. You can't miss it with the green and white umbrellas outside with outdoor tables and chairs. Inside has a beautiful ambiance of Japanese touch. It was busy when I came here on a Sunday afternoon. All the tables were filled. There are counter seats that sits 4-5 people. Parking- The entrance is off of S King St. when you see the umbrellas, take the first right on Kahuna Lane and you'll see the parking entrance. Parking is free but the stalls are tight. There are limited "retail parking" stalls since the structure is for residents as well. I had to get the matcha latte with matcha soft serve OMG, one of the best matcha latte I've had, maybe because I've never had matcha soft serve on my matcha latte before! It was a perfect blend with oat milk. The matcha had just the right amount of "bite". Okay, if you love "crunchy" ice like me, they have it and it was a bonus for me I had to try one of the cheese tarts since that was one of their signature items. The Hokkaido Cheese tart was amazing! Chef's kiss!!! I'll definitely be back! They have other desserts that look so ono. I'll give those a try next time!

Tickled pink... On this National Pink Day don't be green with envy as I'm certainly tickled and thrilled to see Maruwu Seicha has opened its second location in Moili'ili on the ground floor of Hale Mahana. I'm so impressed of they transformed this spot to a cool zen vibe with lots of various types of seating from a community table, counter seating, individual two tops and several outdoor seating as well. Their menu options are unique as well using Kyoto Matcha in different ways from the usual latte to Sodas, adding soft serve or snow top including some exclusive matcha as well. It has been quite to scorcher so I decided on a soda...Yuzu Matcha Soda to be exact which is exactly that with crystal boba, and as this sip is almost to stunning to start I just couldn't resist the refreshing sip that had a very prominent yuzu kick and I loved it. I just couldn't resist t resist also their Uji Matcha Cheese Tart a delicate treat that was certainly the perfect size. The whole vibe here is great staff is so nice and friendly and love that there's a place to relax, work or just get your matcha fix, they also have Hojicha and soft serve as well...there's just so Matcha to try here. Thank you!

This might be one of the only places in Waikiki open at 4 AM which is perfect if you've just arrived the night before from the East Coast. The inside of the shop feels homey. They have a display case full of pastries along with additional baked goods set out nearby. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

It was less than three dollars including tax, so definitely affordable. The guava filling was great, but the donut itself was kind of bland. If it weren't so cheap, I would have given it three stars. But it was a good deal and I might go back.

This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.
