Ohana was one my favorite sushi bar. The past 2 visits I've had poor service. Not once did a server come by to ask if we were okay or needed refills. I also don't appreciate their "word usage" on the bill. Be aware: when they bring your tab "gratitude" is included. When they returned with my card they kept the original tab and followed up with the signature recipe which also include a section for a "tip". Best place for sushi big rolls and the sushi always taste amazing! I always do to go orders. My only issue I had was what was mentioned in other reviews about them automatically putting their own gratuity on the receipt, even for to go orders. I noticed the receipt was higher then what I was expecting. What I thought was Off was when the older male worker put down my copy of my receipt upside down and then gave me a separate receipt for me to sign with tip. I'm assuming at least from what it looked like he wanted me to give an additional tip on top of the gratuity that was already printed on the receipt, because he double checked after I signed it with no additional tip. The itemized bill does reflect the gratuity charge, but when they take away your card, they return the receipt. I've been going to Ohanas prior to Covid. This place is hands down the sushi spot I take anyone to. It is the place you go to when you want quality sushi on a budget. The chef's care about what they are making, and you can tell. Depending on what you like out of sushi I can recommend a couple of things. If you're into baked rolls, try the heart attack. It is not on the order list when you sit down. But just let your waiter know you'd like it. And it has not once ever been spicy in my 5+ years of dining here. Another really good roll is the Hot Kiss roll. It's a seared salmon top with shrimp tempura on the inside. I personally use spicy mustard oil instead of soy sauce on my fresh rolls so make sure to order that and try it, it isn't an extra charge. And I haven't ever been charged gratuity unless I put it. Plus, these are some serious rolls. Other companies will make you a tiny roll and charge you 12-14 dollars. Here you're getting your money's worth. Give it a shot and you won't be disappointed. read more
