I just tried Ohio City Pasta for the first time and I couldn't be happier. I really don't know what I've been doing with my life all this time. I was overwhelmed by all of the options they provided. I saw pastas I have scoured stores and markets for and came up empty handed every time. I also saw original items that made total sense. It became a question of what I was going to try first. The staff was patient with me and very kind. All of the pasta is fresh made; nothing is frozen, so I wanted to get something to cook that day. I ignored my urge to buy up the whole counter. I didn't want to defeat the purpose of buying fresh pasta by freezing a bunch of it. Through all the choices I decided on the squid ink angel hair. I got 3 bundles which only came to $7.50. They take credit/debit with no minimum so that part was super convenient. I made the pasta later that night. I loved how the bag it comes in has cooking times right on it making this foolproof. My family was skeptical, but the entire pot disappeared in a couple short hours. They just couldn't stop going back. I will definitely make Ohio City Pasta my new go to place. I cannot wait to try more items.

My inner Italian is screaming. Ohio City Pasta has such a bright and enticing display of their freshly made noodles. It is hard to pick which to try with their fun festive flavors, like pumpkin! I love how they bunch some noodles together into an adult serving and sell them for $2! It's perfect for a date night or night in. Once you buy the pasta, the bag you are given has cooking times on them. The pasta I got only required 1 1/2 minutes. So quick. So easy! They also sell sauce to go along which your noodles, which is so smart. Their noodles are seriously so fresh and amazing. They put boxed grocery store noodles to shame.

Overall: Excellent home-made pasta worth the extra couple dollars. The only issue is they run out of popular items! Food: 5 stars. The sauces are excellent. The marinara is light and not overpowering so you can still taste the pasta. The arrabbiata is just the right amount of spicy. The pomodoro is the best and very flavorful. The pasta is fresh and there are lots of varieties. Be sure to freezes the pasta if you're not eating within a week. Service: 5 stars. They are fast but patient if you have questions. Location & Appearance: 5 stars. Inside the West Side Market near the front. The counter is merchandised well.

Don't be surprised when you get to the front door, the entrance in no way prepares you for the wonderful experience you are going to have. I know Oliva is known as a steakhouse, but it did not feel like one to me, and I mean that in a good way. Dinner started with Sfogliatina di Manzo Brasato (puff pastry, braised beef brisket, eggplant, potato sformato, stracciatella, thyme, fig vincotto), Gamberoni all'Aglio e Olio (jumbo shrimp, white wine, garlic, olive oil, Aleppo pepper, toasted bread crumbs) and a special Carpaccio that was out of this world. as there were other folks at the table with us, this is why we got multiple starters. All three of these starters were soooo good! Each starter had a wonderful flavor profile and were very tasty. Everyone tore into the Gamberoni all'Aglio e Olio, but the Carpaccio was my favorite. The Sfogliatina di Manzo Brasato For dinner I got the Cavatelli al Sugo di Coniglio (ricotta cavatelli, slow-roasted rabbit leg, natural roasting jus, soffritto, rosemary, Chianti reduction) with a extra rabbit leg. I did not need that extra leg, but so glad I got it because it made a lovely breakfast the next day. The rabbit just fell off the bone and complemented the pasta really well. I made it a point to remove the rabbit meat from the second leg and saved some pasta for my breakfast meal the next day. The Doctor got a steak and left no meat on the plate, so we can assume it was that good. The person picking up the tab order the Bistecca alla Fiorentina (Tuscan-style porterhouse, sliced for the table) for the table. That was a lovely piece of meat that I would highly recommend ordering. If you can't finish it, take it home for a treat the next day. Multiple sides were ordered and none were left: Patate alla Pugliese (thinly sliced potatoes, extra-virgin olive oil, sea salt), Portobello alla Griglia (marinated portobello, balsamic vinaigrette, scallions) and Zucchine Marinate (baby zucchini, garlic, Aleppo pepper, extra virgin olive oil). I only tried the potatoes and have to say they were very good with the porterhouse slice I had. Based on the empty plates, I would say the table was in agreement that the sides were good. No one had dessert as we were full, so I can't speak on that. But what I can speak on is that there is nothing in Cleveland that will make me come to visit with the exception of that rabbit dish, that will make me come back.

We started off with the grilled octopus as an app. It was the best octopus I've eaten. It wasn't too chewy, often my experience. It's a large dish so consider your meal selections. We ordered the Sea Bass and Crab Ravioli. Both were absolutely amazing. The Sea Bass was a large dish that I couldn't even finish. The best part of our experience was having a chat with the owner. She was walking around the restaurant chatting with customers, and ensuring everybody was happy with their experience. She learned all of our 10 year anniversary meal and we were surprisingly gifted with a tiramisu and two glasses of Limoncello on the house to celebrate our wonderful anniversary. Special kindness like this is something that people strive for when they go out and spend their hard earned money on a wonderful celebration meal. We will be back again.

After waiting about 10 minutes with no acknowledgment from anyone, I decided to at least check out the restroom while I waited... and that's when everything went downhill. The floors were extremely sticky--every step literally felt like my shoes were pulling off the ground. It didn't feel clean at all. As I got closer to the restroom area, there was a strong smell of what I can only describe as wet, moldy rags. The bathroom itself was dark, oddly designed, and just gave an overall uncomfortable vibe. What made it worse is that the place wasn't even busy--there was only one table and a couple people at the bar. So the lack of service and cleanliness really stood out. By the time I walked back to the bar, I had already made up my mind. No one had still acknowledged me, and based on the condition of the place, I wasn't willing to take a chance on the food. I grabbed my things and left. Later on, I mentioned it at another restaurant and was told this place is known for poor food quality and lack of authenticity--which honestly aligned with what I experienced just from being inside. I can't speak on the food since I didn't stay, but based on cleanliness, smell, and service alone, I would not recommend this spot. It gave the impression that basic upkeep isn't a priority, and that's not something I'm willing to overlook.
