Good but not perfect. Went there around noontime on a Monday. Restaurant had a few customers but not crazy busy. Went for the boneless ribeye 14oz as well as carrot cake. Steak intially came out blue rare but they immediately refired a second one that was a perfect medium rare. Very well seasoned and the meat you could tell was USDA prime from the marbling and the fatty flavor attached. Carrot cake was very good also, huge portion and only $10. Interior dining room is old wood and window charm. The background tunes are from the 40s & 50s, great stuff. The staff on all visits was Midwest nice and professional. The kitchen is turning out outstanding, high quality food. We had steaks, tomahawk chop, risotto and burgers; all perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Location not cool for parking... get there early if you wanna meter park because Valet takes them over at dinner. Service was pretty good. Not excellent but very tolerable. Tip, do a little better with asking questions when introducing yourself. Presentation of food is very good though not a lot of healthy options. My stuffed peppers had a creamy cheese (may have even BEEN cream cheese). Unexpected and unpreferred... just stick to melted cheese. Spice level was on point though. Pasta Alfredo dish was seafood and chicken was preferred due to allergies, could have sheared off a couple $, since we all know shrimp and scallops cost way more. Both salads were great. This is a "casual dining" steakhouse. They tried to make the space chic with their decor and music. Their service is attentive, our waitress was friendly. And while they charged "steakhouse" prices for the food, they didn't take the care for plating or cooking to match. We ordered their top sirloin with loaded baked potato and ribeye with Brussel sprouts. The top sirloin was on the chewier side and was rather over salted. The baked potato was strangely bland despite being loaded. The ribeye was appropriately fatty and was made perfectly. But the brussel sprout was strangely charred yet limpy. I really wanted to like this place but the food just didn't hit the right spots. Came here very late, while it was snowing outside, so the restaurant was very quiet. It's a big restaurant with a lot of seating space. We decided to sit on one of the booths by the bar so we could watch the game. Place has a very comfortable vibe. The waiter brought out complimentary corn bread which was really good (obviously cause it was full of butter inside and on top). It was served on a cast-iron skillet and could have easily served a table of 4 people. I had the Lobster Tail for dinner. The lobster was great and the butter was served on a tiny metal bowl that was lit over a lamp, so it tasted extra delicious. This was a nice steakhouse for dinner. This visit was lackluster at best. The food was 4 stars, nicely prepared and tasty. The overall experience was 3 stars, definitely not a fine dining experience. I booked a reservation to celebrate hubby's birthday. In the comment section, of the reservation, I mentioned that we were celebrating hubby's birthday. For reference, I booked the private dining room, a few years ago to celebrate hubby's birthday with a few close friends, and the experience was phenomenal. There was no valet parking option, even though there are valet markers within a few feet of the restaurant, we quickly found out that those markers belong to Blue Point Grille. We parked across the street, in the lot with NO posted weekend prices, just Mon-Fri, so we had NO idea how much the final rate would be. We were warmly greeted and seated by the hostess, she did ask our preference, if being seated in a booth was ok. We responded, absolutely. We were greeted a short time later by our server. Typically in nicer restaurants, the server will ask if this is a first visit, and/or if we are celebrating a special occasion. We didn't receive either inquiry. She took our wine orders, and then returned to take or starter orders. Hubby ordered the shrimp cocktail and I ordered the market greens salad. The shrimp were perfectly prepared, accompanied by cocktail sauce, with a dab of horseradish in the center, nice touch. My salad was tasty, fresh greens, apple slices, cranberries, and candied nuts, with a sherry vinaigrette. The salad was a slightly overdressed, but still tasty. We didn't receive bread with our starters, so I gently inquired, and the server mentioned that it was coming. I'm not sure that if I hadn't asked, we would have received it and because there was a wait for the bread, I expected it to be hot and fresh, it was not, it was closer to room temperature, so much so, that the honey butter on top didn't melt, and the texture was a little bit gummy. Our server took our meal order, when dropping off our starters, I wonder if there were any specials, and what was the catch of the day? Normally you don't have to ask, the information is offered. Anyway, we placed our orders. I ordered the salmon, and hubby ordered the tomahawk pork chop. Our food arrived a short time later. The salmon was generously portioned, over a beautiful bed of perfectly prepared risotto, that included, mushrooms, spinach and h. Hubby's thick cut chop, was perfectly cooked, accompanied by white cheddar mashed potatoes, the portion was just a little bit light, in proportion to the huge chop. The chop was topped with cinnamon, brown sugar apples. The apples were tasty. The restaurant should ready think about incorporating those into a dessert...yum. Hubby wanted another glass of wine, which we had to flag down our server and request. We opted out of dessert. I only order dessert, when my dining experience is good. This visit wasn't terrible, just not what I would have expected at this price point. There are so many other places, within the same price point, and within close proximity, that offer a better experience. I always tip based on the bill, and not the service, so the server is alway generously compensated, even when the experience is just ok. We probably won't return. read more

This is a nice place, steak oriented menu but a few other options, old style wood paneled ambiance, good food, We come here now as a tradition on Cleveland trips a group of us take. I am from the area but moved away after college. The location is near West 6th and Saint Clair, so walking distance to the East Bank of the flats. City Vibe. We have tried most items on the menu collectively including most the appetizers. All are pretty good. The steaks have come as requested. Generally the service is not bad....but overall also not great. We have had two waiters that were exceptional. But I think they would be exceptional anywhere. Not to say hiring the right person isn't an important part of staffs performance. But there is more such as training, work culture and leadership. Not sure why, but we have had some just OK service and one below average. We are spending a fair amount when we come and expect more given the higher cost and the fact they charge a surcharge for larger groups in addition to tip (if you are selective can leave under $50 each but easily spend $75-$100+ especially with surf and turfs, appetizers and drinks each like we do.). Also, when I call for reservations, OK but not super friendly. Not a big deal, but I eat out at nice places on business a fair amount and usually the experience "feels" better. A few times I felt like they were doing me a favor. Not significant, but something is off at times. But is it worth to try it? Absolutely. For my entree, I ordered the turkey & ham focaccia melt with sweet potato fries and the fries were the best sweet potato fries I've had! The melt was also well prepared and satisfying. Cleveland Chop is a business casual vibe so you might feel out of place if you're not dressed as such. The service was just okay, I'm not sure if it was due to our large group (party of 8) or if the server was stretched too thin but there was a moment in time when we didn't see her for at least 10-15 minutes. This was the first time I have been to this restaurant. My daughter and I were in town for two days and asked a friend for a recommendation for a good steak house. We realized as we headed to the restaurant that it was Valentine's Day and thought it unlikely we would get a table. While they did have several reservations, the hostess was kind enough to seat us with the agreement that we would finish within an hour and a half window of time. We were so glad we stayed! We had seen this place in past visits to the area but this time we decided to make a reservation for a special dinner. This place is in an old warehouse and so unique. It was a cozy booth that dimly lit but open enough to take in the environment. We started with the baked asiago dip that was mushrooms and cheese dip served with a baked scallion toast (so much flavor). My husband tried one of their award winning cockails, The Honeycomb, which was great but he had to have an old fashion as well. The menu has everything from steaks to seafood and array of sides. It was overwhelming on what to choose. I ordered the Louisiana shrimp and risotto which was beyond amazing, I just wish I had some bread to scoop the sauce. My husband chose the sea bass but ordered the side of lobster shrimp gnocchi. Our only downfall was the dessert menu, we love house made but those 2 options were not our favorite flavors. Denise was our bartender/server and she was friendly and helpful. When we ordered an app and dinner, I forgot to tell her about my food allergy, but I did when the app arrived. She left to check with the kitchen and before you knew it the chef came out to talk to us. He was able to tell me everything that was in the food, and assured me that the allergen was not used in the app or our entrees. David was particularly interested in my allergy, because he's allergic to the same ingredient and has the same anaphylactic reaction. I'm not used to having a server respond to my allergy concerns at all, let alone having the chef come out to talk to me. Cleveland Chop kinda fell off our radar after COVID, but with the same great service and food as before and the extra level of care I saw on Saturday we'll be back to visiting on a regular basis. read more

My family had a terrible day on Monday 11/10 and we needed to eat after not eating all day, we were tired and so incredibly sad. It's taken me a few days to write this but I wanted to make sure I thanked everyone that helped us that evening. We walked in an hour before closing with a party of 10 and the manager and staff was so amazing with our family. We love going to Cleveland Chop and that's why we took our family, we felt so bad for going so late but they were so gracious and let us eat in private so we could share tears, memories and laughs together in a quiet part of restaurant. We went to celebrate new years. The appetizers were solid but we found the steaks a bit lackluster. They were great about us having to send it back. My lobster tail was missed despite my having ordered it before my date. It came out fairly quickly when I asked about it. It's a pretty space with unique art from Cleveland's history, but I've had better steaks at Harry's and Delmonico's. Overall, it wasn't worth the price. For the prices on the menu, I would have thought we would be seated at a nicer table but turned out it didn't matter at the end of the visit anyway. We ordered a plate of the risotto to share and then steaks as our entrees. Now I totally get that that ordering a steak medium-well should be a sin but my partner likes what she likes (even if it's wrong). She ordered a sirloin medium-well with mushrooms and I ordered a filet medium-rare. The risotto was absolutely delicious. But unfortunately, my steak was way overcooked and my partner's was DEAD. Just completely grey and for some reason butterflied for no reason. When we had told our waitress this (she even looked at the steaks and agreed) she grabbed the plates and went on her way to the back. Which was a shame because she took my portion of risotto along with it before I had the chance to ask her to let me put that back on the risotto plate because I was enjoying it. Now, the waitress was an absolute gem. So nothing against her. But the second steaks came out and (I wish I had gotten pictures of the second steaks) but my filet was complete cartilage didn't even look like the cut was a filet and again my partner's steak was butterflied for no reason and completely dry and a grey puck. At that point, we were just done with the whole experience. The manager (or whoever this basic mean girl was) came up to us and asked if we wanted them to try again (while never saying sorry, being apologetic and very rudely). We told her no and just to take it. We ended are night on a high note by going to see Annie Live but this was supposed to be the pre-show dinner and it was just utterly disappointing on all fronts.
