Cool little ramen place right near the Eltingville train station. I had a pretty tasty lunch there earlier today with some friends and came away pleased. Great aesthetics, (relatively) cheap prices, and tasty food. In terms of hospitality, there's not much to write home about, so if that's your sticking point, then I would avoid. I've been wanting to come to this location for awhile now and finally got the chance to drive all the way down here to give it a try. There's barely any parking spaces in the residential areas because it is right near the train station so you might have to park on the streets and pay the meter. Other than that we came on a Thursday afternoon and was able to enjoy the peace and quiet due to there being no one inside. We ordered the oh Kano spicy miso ramen, paitan ramen, and Japanese style fried oysters. I am not a big oyster fan so it was a bit expected that I would not like the appetizer but my father really enjoyed the taste of it. If I were to choose between the miso ramen and the paitan ramen, I'd say to definitely go for the paitan ramen. It was super creamy and I usually do not finish my ramens but this time it was too good not to finish eveything. The chashu was super soft and juicy and the broths for both dishes were filled with flavor. So far this is the best ramen place i have been to in Staten Island. read more

I came here with my wife and daughter on March 19th to try this place out. Food was okay. Not the best nor the worst ramen we've had, but didnt expect much in staten island. Karaage was meh. Service was generally alright. Would have been a 3.5 star from me until we found some sort of clear plastic wrapping in one lf the bowls of ramen midway through the meal. The poor waiter was constantly explaining and apologizing on behalf of the kitchen staff and tried to compensate by not charging us. However, that shit is just not acceptable. Now I am left wondering how much plastic particles are in their soup and how much my wife and daughter consumed. NOT ACCEPTABLE. I'm definitely not returning ever again. read more

Finally the south shore of Staten Island has a truly authentic ramen spot! This is long overdue. When I noticed this quaint little spot on Richmond Avenue I knew my boyfriend and I had to try it. The restaurant is fairly small, but has a good amount of tables for seating as well as a bar-like seating set up. The service was great throughout - both servers were attentive and helpful with the menu. My boyfriend and I both got the Spicy Paitan Ramen (without corn) and shared scallion pancakes. The scallion pancakes were tasty without being too greasy or fried. The ramen is the real star though of course. The broth was absolutely delicious and flavorful without being too salty. The noodles were fresh and perfectly cooked. The meat was tender and overall it really was simply delicious. The prices are reasonable and I believe they offer takeout as well. It's something different from your typical eatery on the south shore and totally worth a try. I'll be back! read more

So I didn't have high expectations, after all Staten Island is not a huge food place if you don't love Italian food. I was floored by how good this ramen was. The noodles were soft and lush with flavor. The pork was seasoned perfectly and not at all fatty. The broth which when I saw it's dark color I was worried would be too acidic, was amazing, drank the bowl after. Do yourself a favor and eat here. It's winter perfect food for winter. Ramen holds a special place in my heart and I used to venture out in the city on ramen tours. Love love love ramen. I moved to Staten island and it has been more of a chore now to go to the city just for ramen. Ohkami though, amazing. Better than 90% of the places in Manhattan. Really enjoyed the food here . I had ordered the spider burger(really good btw) the Seaweed salad (always a personal favorite) Takoyaki (never had them out before , made them at home several times ) and Tako Wasabi (really good if you like octopus with a nice Wasabi kick ) and ill have to say everything was excellent and came out quickly (got there at the start of the dinner rush ) so I was very impressed especially that they have stuff on the menu that's impossible to find at other restaurants (like Takoyaki which I highly recommend) . My wife and I will be going back for some ramen later this week but I'm sure that will be great as well . When you walk in, the restaurant gives you a somewhat Japanese feel and it looks very nice inside. The servers are also nice as well. The takoyaki tasted very delicious with a nice initial crunch but melts in your mouth as you bite it some more with a tiny kick of flavor each bite. The ramen was the best on the island (that I have tasted so far) with the broth tasting smooth and freshly made. It was delicious and the perfect amount of saltiness complemented the ingredients. Finally, the noodles are nice and cooked to perfection without being too soft or hard. It's a great place and I recommend anyone to give it a try, though the menu lacks pictures and the portions may be smaller than expected. read more

Best vegetable dumplings I've ever had in my entire life. Usually vege dumplings are made of a basic cabbage and carrot but these are nothing like that. I'm completely blown away. I also got the vegetarian ramen. I ordered delivery through grub hub and it came super fast. I added Sambal oelek to my ramen for a little kick and it's perfect. I threw a few dumplings in the soup too for a little extra protein. For delivery they pack the broth separately from the bowl of noodles so it is fresh when you get it. Maybe I caught them on a bad day. I went a few weeks ago. The soup had a layer of oil across the top, the noodles were not cooked well enough. The egg was ok. The person cooking my meal was being instructed by another person as they were doing it. I don't mind having someone learning but I am not paying a discounted price that should get me a lesser product. read more
