The receptionists are delightful and attentive. There were so many tiny details that just added luxury and warmth too, like your name written in chalk on your locker; the massage beginning with inhalation of essential oils; the perfectly curated massage based on your individual specifications; the dark chocolate in the lounge and the sales transaction where you still feel valued while paying. Rafael was my therapist and Jojo worked on the bf. We're massage regulars and our tastes are wildly different (I like trigger point/deep massage work, he likes to relax) neither of us can remember ever getting a better massage. Last week I had the most incredible facial at Ohm Spa. My skin therapists hands were amazing. She was very knowledgeable, with over 20 years of experience. She went over everything she saw and the products were so lovely. I felt like I was transformed. The table was so comfortable, the rooms as so cozy and she put me to sleep several times with her incredible massaging. The best part was after the treatment my skin has never looked better. It was incredibly noticeable that people were commenting. I'm 46 so I've had plenty of facials over the years to know that this was next level. The care, the knowledge and the ambiance made my experience unforgettable and my skin refreshed and hydrated. And oh they don't try to sell you everything right afterward. I was given a gift certificate as a gift and did not even know this place existed. At first impression, I was quite surprised at how large it was and I thought this would be a fantastic experience. The spot does not have any amenities you would expect such as sauna stay in my room and the like. The lounge was quite calming with if you snacks and water and tea. When I checked in, I had to wait for them to get me a robe and slippers since they did not have anything ready. Then I was left alone and not told where to go. I was able to figure it out but was still never checked on. I was told it was a 530 appointment so I got there 20 minutes early, turned out it is a 545 appointment and they told me 530 so that I would be there early. There were a lot of couples and did not understand spa protocol apparently, it became a big chatter area which was quite annoying since I was just starting to relax. No one comes by to check on anybody in that room. The girl that was doing my facial was very nice, however there were a few problems which would lead me to not really come back. She came 10 minutes after my appointment time. She apologized so I assumed they would just extend the facial time. That did not happen. I don't believe they did a mask but that may not be part of their facial. I have never had a facial without a mask so I'm not really sure. My facial was late Sunday evening and she told me to not wash my face at night. This morning I woke up and there is a 2 inch mark on my face. I am not sure if she burned my skin with something she had put on it. She had put something on that was tingling my skin. Once again, the girl was very nice and sweet but cutting time on a facial that is not cheap, and then having a mark on my face really upset me. I take very good care of my skin, and when I asked her when I should book my next facial, she replied that I did not need to. She said my skin was so good that I didn't even need extractions or much of anything once I had told her the products I used and my routine. It was a very nice complement but I only add that to say that my skin was very good and there were no marks when I went in. I visited Ohm Spa a few weeks ago for my 33rd birthday for the 90-60 (Deep Swedish Massage and the Deep Pore Cleansing Facial). Ohm Spa is only the second spa I've gone to ever in life, as someone who started going to spas when I first moved to NYC at age 25. I typically go to Cynergy Spa in Brooklyn to utilize their services (particularly the Birthday Package), but I wanted to try something different. I went to Ohm Spa sight unseen (outside of the reviews and pictures on Yelp), and it was the best decision I've ever made. From the moment I walked in to the time my services were completed and paid for, I had a divine experience. The robes, lounge area, lockers, ambience, and snacks in the lounge area were above and beyond what I expected. There have been some reviews of a lack of shower space (which there is, but I've never utilized a shower at a spa before, and it wasn't a deal breaker for me). I had Rebekah (I'm probably misspelling her name) as my massage therapist, and she was professional and friendly throughout, asking me if the pressure was alright. I've only ever had 60 minute massages, so the idea of a 90 minute one for my birthday sounded heavenly. You'd be surprised how quickly 90 minutes goes by. When Rebekah was done and left the room to wait for me outside, I looked at the clock thinking, "No way was that 90 minutes". We walked in at 10:58am, and when I left, the clock read 12:30pm. My facial was with Laurie. The Deep Pore Cleansing is a premium facial, but I was able to choose it over the original facial, and paid $40 extra. I have this odd texture/breakout area on my left cheek, and after viewing the area, Laurie substituted their regular 90-60 mask for the Manuka Honey mask (another premium facial option, like getting 2 premiums for the price of one...I debated between the Manuka Honey and the Deep Pore Cleansing so I'm glad she was able to do it). While I felt so relaxed during my massage, I was still alert. But I think I may have dozed off a few times during the facial. Laurie was friendly and knowledgeable, and her birthday was a week before mine! She even provided samples and recommended products. Also, when Laurie greeted me, she wished me a Happy Birthday, which was nice because I didn't mentioned it to anyone when I arrived there. Could it have been that my birthday matched the actual date of my appointment I wrote down on my registration forms? The receptionists also wished me a Happy Birthday before I left. I have been visiting Ohm Spa since 2014 and have always had a quality experience whether it be booking the appointment, checking in or the massage itself. There are several therapists that I prefer and today I saw Chaya for a 60 minute custom massage to work on my chronic upper back/neck issues (thanks desk job, bleh). Chaya is great, she always asks me what is going on with my body in terms of tension, pain, stress, etc. and takes excellent care of her clients. A few months ago, Ohm Spa was forced to move to a new, temporary, location while the owners straighten out an unfortunate NYC real estate nightmare. While the previous location did provide a more upscale spa-like experience with a lounge and changing locker room, Ohm Spa has always emphasized their focus on wellness, which is very much in line with the ambiance of the space that they have for right now. If you want a quality massage or to work on a particular issue you are having, Ohm Spa is still the place for you. The quality of the treatments and the owner's dedication to their staff as well as their clients have not changed. Yes, the waiting room is small but the beds are still warm and comfy! As others have mentioned, the prices at Ohm Spa are on par with many of the Madison and 5th avenue spas and that is because the staff are trained under a licensed physical therapist who emphasizes the quality of each treatment for your benefit and holistic wellness. In my opinion, the treatments themselves are worth the money, even without the robes and slippers. Hopefully soon Ohm Spa will have a new location that can accommodate everyone's needs but for now, if you want a great massage and can live without the fluff for a while, give Ohm Spa a chance. read more

Ohm... Ohm... Ohhmmmigod! This place is awesome! Tip to the gentlemen: if you want to impress your lady, book her for the mani / pedi / massage (with Adam) package here. You may not immediately see the wisdom of sending your beloved to an hour-long rub-down session with a young, charming, talented and Australian-accented miracle worker like Adam. However, after an hour in his skilled hands, my body was as relaxed and un-knotted as could be. He varied a number of massage techniques for a custom experience tailored to my body's needs. And boy, he knew just what I needed! (Increased pressure to relieve my shoulder tension, just in case your mind was in the gutter on that one :-) Everyone, from the people behind the desk, to the maintenance staff, was incredibly friendly and professional (A nice departure from the snobby staff I've met along the way while dropping big dollar at other city spas). And because I visited on a Wednesday evening, I had free wine tastings (nothing special but it was free) and sampled lounge treats such as dark chocolate and fruit before my treatment began. Little touches like that (in addition to all the Japanese fighting fish sprinkled around) made me like this place even more. Ohm isn't huge (in fact, the lobby is that of a normal office building), but it's small and mighty. The decor was serene and relaxing -- just what you want in a spa. I have yet to use my mani / pedi part of the package, and I like that you can break it up into two visits. Even better, the gift certificate from my husband includes 20% gratuity, so I don't need to worry about anything except pampering myself. So guys, give your girls the pleasure of an afternoon here, and they'll be eternally grateful. My husband bought me a prenatal massage (my first) for our anniversary, and after reading some of the reviews for Ohm Spa, I couldn't wait to go! One of the best things about this spa is the relaxation room. When I made the appointment the receptionist told me to arrive 15 minutes early... I wish I would have came even earlier! The relaxation room (which is where you wait until your massage begins) is dark, spacious, incredibly calming and cozy, and equipped with plenty of snacks, fruit, infused water & tea. I really enjoyed my time in there before and after the massage. My massage therapist, Kristen, was really nice and gave me the lowdown on prenatal massage before we began. This was great because I was a little nervous... 37 weeks pregnant is not exactly ideal for laying on a massage table! She positioned tons of pillows and helped me get into comfortable and safe positions throughout the massage. She applied the perfect amount of pressure and focused on the areas I asked her to. She was great! I only wish the locker room had some showers, but this would not stop me from booking another massage with Ohm in the future. read more

When my mother asked me for a spa recommendation, OHM Spa instantly came to mind. I've been here before, but this is my first review for this spa. Key attractions: 1. Spa AND lounge areas are extremely clean. 2. The entire staff is professional and friendly. 3. Spa services are vast and reasonably priced. 4. As soon as you enter the spa, it smells nice and the soothing music places you in the mood to be pampered. 5. The lounge is really peaceful with comfortable furniture and eye pleasing decor. One of the best spas I've been to in NYC. One of my favorite things was the relaxation lounge. It has tons of cushy seating, perfectly dimmed lighting, soothing music and a variety of great refreshments and the environment is actually quiet & calming! I felt like I was actually able to unwind before jumping into a massage. I've experienced relaxation lounges in many spas but they were nearly impossible to actually relax in. That was not the case here! My husband & I went for the couple's massage. The treatment rooms were spacious, clean and relaxing. Our massage therapists were excellent- friendly, professional, articulate, explained everything beforehand and asked about our preferences. It was our first time visiting and the therapists gave samples and chocolates to my husband & me as we exited the room. We love extra perks - what a great way to end a wonderful session! I also want to mention that the front desk staff was also very friendly, professional and clearly experienced in customer service. Also, Ohm's locker rooms are very comfortable, clean and organized. Ohm is my oasis in the city. I've been to a couple of spas in town and can tell you that here, they give a reliably good massage. When on their game, some of my best massage experiences have been at Ohm. When you walk in, it feels like stepping into a nice, quiet zone. You get your robe and change. Then you can wait and snack on grapes, dark chocolate squares, crackers, cookies and drinks (water mostly). The rooms are spacious enough (that's a relative compliment in New York). They work hard to help you decompress. And I would honestly say, I've only had one experience where I left not fully satisfied. I think it says alot that I'm still going back there faithfully. Let's leave it at this. When a friend asks me where to get a massage, my first answer is always Ohm. To date, I've lost no friends because of Ohm. That's a pretty good track record. read more

**NO SHOWERS** My months just wouldn't finish right if I didn't get a "tune-up" (or Facial, whatever you want to call it) once a month with Britta. The honey mask facial is magic. Every time I leave my face is super moisturized and healthy looking for not one, not two, not even three days .. but at least a week or so my glow keeps going! I always ask for Britta to do my facial because she's super sweet, knows a good time to talk during treatment and also when to let you just relax, and she has a lot of great insight into healthy skin care. THE SPA - It's very clean and quiet. The staff is all very friendly and the lounge is usually stocked with nice snacks. I've never been there and it's super busy which I blame on their great scheduling and not a lack of customers. They have a huge nail spa area if you and the girls want to have a get together. Visited Ohm Spa on Valentine's Day after receiving a kind discount from the owner and had a really, really relaxing time. I felt taken care of from the moment I walked in. Everyone there, from the ladies at the front desk to my massage therapist, was kind and doting. The relaxation area was quite indulgent (big comfy couches, candles, fruits and nuts and cookie snacks, tea, infused water, hot chocolate... You name it!) And while the locker room wasn't quite as upscale as that of some other New York spas, I loved how they had a name tag on my locker all ready for my arrival. That's how you make a gal feel special! The massage is probably one of the best I've ever had. And this is coming from someone who had another professional full body massage just the day before (treat yourself, am I right?) Chya (I hope I'm not misspelling that) gave me a custom 1 hour massage which incorporated an incredible mix of pressure, aromatherapy, and other relaxing massage stuff I don't quite understand. After careful searches on the Internet for a great spa, my boyfriend had carefully picked out this place for my Christmas present. He gave me a generous gift card and I was excited to come and use it. Sadly, I thought it was just an OK experience. My massage was pretty good. B+/A-. But this was pretty much it. There was no sauna area. No steam room. Not even a shower. I had to walk out feelin' greasy. The waiting lounge is pretty small and is not super relaxing. If I had to come here again, it would be a get-in-quick/get-out-quick scenario. It's not a relaxing haven at all. I feel that I could have spent the money at a place that has all of the regular 'spa' amenities. read more

I had bought my best friend and me a mini spa day and though there was a bit of a miscommunication between the receptionist and myself regarding the services, my friend and I were extremely pleased with the mani/pedi, facial, and massage. Matter of fact, the awesome foot massage relieved the redness from a surgical scar. And, more than a week later, the blue nailpolish remained. This is by far one of the best spas in NY. Period. After a terrible experience elsewhere, I have to say I really wish I had just come here. I like to try out different places so I tend to get deals off Gilt or elsewhere. So not worth it. Ohm (and Bliss, sorry!) are now and forever my exclusive spots. The people who work here from reception to technicians are super friendly and not pushy about selling you things like at other places! Massages - I always get a deep tissue. The technicians are great and rooms are always comfy and warm. I literally fall asleep every time because I am so relaxed in expert hands. Also, the floors do not creek which definitely a plus. Facial - I've had amazing facials here. I tend to get the Manuka honey or the regular custom facial. My skin is always glowing afterwards and the extractions are less painful than at other places. Decor - Ohm is very nice and relaxing. No, there isn't a shower or sauna but what you get instead is consistent high quality. I have been to uber fancy (and expensive places) that just aren't worth it. Ohm has good snacks and products for purchase. They moved into a bigger space and now have a proper changing room and more lounge areas. 1 improvement = Online booking. It can be a hassle to get through the line. Just had a perfect massage/spa experience from the moment I walked in the door. The person who greeted me was super friendly, the space looked and smelled great, and the facilities overall are super. The l locker area is clean, the waiting area with tea and different types of scented water is beautiful and very calming. Best of all, I had a really wonderful massage with Nickie. I have been suffering from neck pain for a couple of weeks and feel a lot better already. I chose the deep tissue massage, which was really intense (in a great way), and included hot scented pads on my neck and back. This was a terrific experience and I am sure to go back. read more

The people who work here are sweet. I had the manuka honey facial, and the experience itself was divine. Later that day, though, I got a huge pimple/reaction on my cheek where the therapist did an extraction. It lasted for a week - everyone kept asking me if I got a mosquito bite. I know this can happen after a facial, but it scared me of facials for a while. Months later, I still have a scar at the extraction site. Not sure if this is because of my sensitive skin, but I will no longer get a facial at a place where they use needles for extractions. read more

Best massage in NYC after visiting various top nyc spas. I tried adam and someone else but he's still the best. I grew up with chronic back pain(stopped at 5'7" at 14...uhh..) so would usually request for male therapists since they are usually stronger than female therapists. Becuase of my ultra stiff shoulders, it usually requires a significant amount of strength be used to temporarily ease my pain. Most therapists use their body weight so I'ld usually feel breatheless during the back massage. Adam, however, uses his body strength(hmm i don't even know how to explain this) so my pain will go away without feeling like someone's sitting on top of me. He also touches on the different parts of your body muscles other therapists (or none, in my case) would concentrate on. Had pedi-mani combo done once and I love the results. I think the nail dryer's a little different because despite using OPI colors like other nail salons I'd visited, the colors lasted about 2 weeks longer and were also shinier. Also did paraffin for hands and feet combo, which was great (I later decided to get my own paraffin wax machine). Changing room is small but no complains because I always get changed with no one in there. Robe's so thin it made me feel very uncomfortable wearing it while getting my pedi-meni done after my massage session. I love the waiting room because of the abundance of fruits and snacks(yes I absolutely love eating where ever i go). Can be a little awkward if there's other customers sitting across from you(there's only 5 chairs, 2 sets of which faces each other) but as I said, I'm food-focused so there's never an awkwardness. Usually you'd expect chicks to be reviewing a spa... you might not know it, but dudes are allowed in spas also! A few months ago, my fiance got me a gift certificate for a facial. I have since been back multiple times on my own steam. Laurie is fantastic. I have sensitive, (often) red, problematic skin. I do a fair amount to take care of it on my own... but I am not going to sit there for an hour at home, applying masks and all sorts of other concoctions to myself. I have gotten numerous "calming" facials with Laurie, and I leave with my skin feeling fantastic. Smoother and more even than I can ever get it myself. With sensitive skin, I was always nervous about getting a facial because I thought I would end up walking out worse off than when I came in. Ohm uses primarily dermalogica products (which are what I use at home and not colored or heavily scented). Also Laurie very much tailors the treatment to your skin and any feedback you give. It's funny that I am always terrified of the smallest needle at a doctor's office... yet I am cool with Laurie aggressively extracting as much gunk as possible from my face! As others have mentioned, this is a very New York City spa... meaning it is small and loft-like. While the lounge room is pleasant enough, it is small. I am usually only in it for a brief time, and most often alone, so I don't find it much of an issue. The changing/locker room is also singular and small. I am usually in an out to get my treatment, so it doesn't bother me. However, if you are looking for more of a lounge around in the spa experience, I would look elsewhere. Typically a hotel spa has the best common facilities. The facial treatment room is private and quite comfortable, so it works for me. read more

I workout 6 days a week, cardio and weightlifting and I also sit at a desk for over 12 hours a day. After a while this makes your body hate you and you need to listen to it. I needed a massage badly, but I wasn't looking for someone to just rub me for an hour. After reading about Adam at Ohm spa I decided to take a chance and I'm beyond grateful that I did. Adam is a complete professional and extremely well versed as a therapist. He's also beyond polite and has that calming aura about him without being all invasion of the body snatchers-like. I told him my concerns and issues and he evaluated my body and chose an array of techniques to use on my muscles. I can truly say I've never had a massage like the one I received from Adam. I've already noticed a vast improvement in just a few days time. Some details: I have a very high pain tolerance and if you are looking for some serious deep tissue work Adam will NOT disappoint you. For people who understand the importance of this type of technique they also understand it is not for the weak. It will hurt, you will be sore for a few days, but the results are amazing. Breathing and communication with your therapist is key. I plan on trying to see Adam now every few months or so to keep my body from knotting itself all to hell. I really can't say enough amazing things about Adam. It wouldn't matter what spa he worked in I would continue to see him anywhere he chose to see clients. As for Ohm itself (for all you spa-rats out there) - I liked it. I found it relaxing even if for a big small. I know people have has issues with the dressing area where the lockers are (as only 1 person can be there at a time) but I didn't mind it. The waiting area was very comfortable with snacks and beverages and the room where I received my massage was ample and very relaxing. To the person who made the comment about the squeaky floors - how can you possibly concentrate on that when someone is pushing muscles to their limit? I mean I noticed it, but it's not something that ruined my spa experience. I will be back to Ohm as soon as I can. read more

Just had my first massage here while on a work trip and I have to say, I have most pleased not only with the massage, but the customer service. Everyone was extremely friendly and easy to talk to. The vibe is very relaxing. I was that amazed that they not only were willing to accommodate me last minute, but saw the condition my back was in and offered to work on for me even longer. Heck, when the masseuse wasn't able to get through a specific spot, one of their owners Kathy, who is also a licensed professional took it upon herself to try herself even though it was after hours. These people are not only good, but also care. It's worth avoiding the cheapy $50 massages around the town and going to a place that's going to assess your problems and will do their best to fix it in the allotted timeframe. I went for a couples deep tissue massage (thanks to my lovely bf!), and I was in heaven. When I first saw my masseuse (I believe her name is Nicole), I was a bit nervous because she's got small hands! My worries went away as soon as she started working on my back. It's amazing how much strength she had, coming from a petite woman. I almost fell asleep during my 60-minute massage. Nicole was very attentive and listened carefully to your needs. If you're a first timer, you're asked to fill out a form detailing any medical history or issues. A lot of spas overlook that. The place is very clean and quiet, far from those Chinatown spas I'm used to. I agree with some of the yelpers that the locker room is too small, but that didn't bother me much because I spent less than 5 minutes in that room. I actually liked the waiting room in the back even though it wasn't all that roomy. The snacks and lemon water were a nice touch. The owners are lovely people too, it was a pleasure to chat with them afterward. I was really happy with the experience overall. Hopefully I can get another massage in the near future! read more

I can't recommend this place enough. After reading all of the positive reviews here, I booked a couple's massage at Ohm about a month ago. A few things stood out about the experience: Couples don't have to have the same type of massage. This was a HUGE plus. I had gotten a couple's massage once before at another spa and had to lie through what felt like an 80 minute deep tissue beatdown, while my girlfriend enjoyed every minute of it. At Ohm, each person can get whatever they want, and still share the couple's room (which was lovely, by the way). The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, from the women at the front desk, to the masseurs themselves. They're all about creating a calm environment and they do it well. The massages are amazing. My girlfriend had a 60 minute deep tissue massage (which she loved), while I did a 60 minute Swedish massage. I would pay good money to still be on that massage table right now. They make you fill out a form in the beginning where you point out what target areas you'd like them to focus on (if any), as well as to specify the type of pressure you'd like. Everything is really custom tailored to your liking. The ONLY reason I'm not giving Ohm a full five stars is because, as others have said, they lack showers, or any other "extras" you might be used to at other spas. Yes, they have a little waiting room with comfortable chairs, dim lighting, and plenty of snacks, which they let you use for however long you'd like. However, it's small. If there's anyone else in the room with you, you don't get that full relaxing feeling that you'd get either alone, or at least with more space per person. Overall though, a highly recommended Spa. I arrived at Ohm Spa on a quiet Sunday afternoon, not quite knowing what to expect. From the moment I arrived I was impressed: the decor was tranquil but modern, and thankfully gender-neutral in tone. After waiting in the lobby and filling out a few forms, I went to the changing room to get in my robe and begin. I had the 30/30 combo, which included a half-hour massage and corresponding facial. The masseuse, Ebony, was fantastic. Just the right amount of pressure and she hit all the areas I requested. Just as good was Anastasia, who provided a great facial that cleansed, exfoliated and moisturized perfectly. I will definitely be back, and perhaps book a longer treatment as well. I found this place after reading the reviews on Citysearch. I was recovering from holiday travel, the flu and a case of food poisoning. Needless to say, I needed a massage. I called on a Sunday, hoping I could get an appt for the Monday holiday, but I asked if by chance they had an opening that day. And they did! I wanted a 90 min, but the girl on the phone could only confirm a 60 and said she would try to work in out by the time I got there. When I did arrive and walked through the doors, I could already feel my muscles relaxing. And they did fit me in for a 90 min massage! My masseuse was fantastic. I told her about my food poisoning and actually was very concerned about me getting a massage so soon after (about a week). I was impressed with the fact she was concerned more about my personal health than her getting her fee. it was exactly what I needed. She also explained what I would feel afterwards and what I should/shouldn't do for the next 24 hours. No other spa has ever been so concerned. Do yourself a favor and go here! read more

Ohm Spa is easily the best spa in NYC. I honestly cannot recommend this place enough! I was able to go to the new larger location on the 5th floor and it is huge...however, they still managed to make it feel warm, cozy, and most importantly very comfortable!! The entire staff is so friendly and professional - it's the real reason I continue to go back. The massages and therapy have done wonders for my lower back. As a frequent business traveler, the long distance commutes have been wearing down my body. Luckily I met Kathy and her staff, and have started incorporating Ohm Spa into my regular wellness routine. I have never met an entire staff (from the top down) that was so genuinely concerned for the well-being of all their customers. I will be back again soon, and will continue to recommend Ohm Spa to everyone. read more
