Well, I wasn't going to make this post until I found out we were charged 50¢ for chipotle ketchup. The proverbial Last Straw. Nearly all my reviews are about good places to go. I don't like to give bad ones based on one visit. This one isn't "bad" just not "great", it's OK. We've loved OHSO in Arcadia and I expected good if not great, glad it was also in Surprise. The patio was very nice, large & doggos were welcome. Our server was pleasant. The food. The Husband got the Hot Pastrami sandwich on a Hawaiian roll. Like a Dinner Roll. Only One Roll. And oversalted fries, only a few more than a McD's small. For $16. No ketchup on the table. When asked about the portion for the sandwich, server looked embarrassed, no real reason given. I know, to save food cost. The problem with that is, we expected a whole meal, not 1/2 of it. It tasted great, so instead of being a happy customer, we were didappointed. Add a couple bucks & the other 1/2 of the sanwich. My Brisket Mac & Cheese was tasty & reasonable sized, but please shred & cut the meat so it's not in one stringy mass, several inches long. They served it with a spoon. Fortunately they also gave a knive & fork in the rolled napkin so I could cut it. The spoon? My Husband suggested twirl like spaghetti? Back to the 50¢ ketchup... Really? We asked for ketchup at some point, realizing there was none on the table. I remembered the original OHSO had a spicy ketchup and asked if this one did, too? Sure do! No mention of the up charge. I didn't know until the next day when The Husband mentioned it was on our bill. Not a happy ending. Oh & the beer selection was limited compared to previous OHSO visits. Guess we won't be back. Average food hence the three stars. Not bad not amazing. The service was good. Casual atmosphere and clean. They do have a patio area for when it gets cooler but idk if it's dog friendly. Husband had the pastrami sandwich which he did not care for, the bread was the worse part. (Cold Beer and Burgers has an amazing one). I had the Brewers grilled cheese which was good. Maybe if you are a beer drinker you would give it more stars, we didn't try any of those. read more

This is our second visit to this newly opened location. I will start by saying the staff are all fantastic! We have experienced friendly employees and great food. I love the dog friendly atmosphere- and yes we will be bringing one of our 4 furry friends in the next visit. We have sat at the bar to watch football, both NFL and College. Great screens! On a side note- that has nothing within their control- the other guests have always been friendly. Great atmosphere. read more

We came in for espresso martinis after dinner next door. Sat at the bar. We weren't greeted for 10 mins. Once we got our drink, it was barely half filled in the martini glass. We go to the one on Indian school all the time, and they are generously filled often almost to the top. We didn't bother saying anything as I just know I'd be pushed back on. We asked for creamer and she seemed annoyed by that.. We had zero personable interaction with the bartenders. Yet we watched our initial server interact with several customers. Even saw her give two patrons what looked to be homemade cookies. I had my debit card on the counter for a while and had to ask twice to check out. Not a lot bothers us. But 15 bucks including tax martinis that are half full, not great flavor - and feeling like we're an inconvenience to the staff, isn't super fun ‍ read more

This is a go to for us when we want a good meal and drinks and friendly servers. This was not the case on Friday. The portions were smaller, and the salad was missing a key ingredient. I asked about it and was brought yet another tiny portion to add to my salad. It was very disappointing. We felt like we were fed a kid sized meal. read more

Some friends and I have gone her a few times since it opened for happy hour. The service is always friendly but not overly help ful. This past visit I ordered a margarita. It arrived sans a salted rim (I didn't specify I wanted one but in my opinion it is a criminal offense to serve one without) it was also honestly not any good. I've had much better for a way better price. Which brings me to the prices. I feel that for the quantity served the dishes are wildly overpriced. OHSO is also located in one of the worst parking lots I have ever had the misfortune of parking in, so jot that down. The bathrooms have always been pleasantly clean though! read more

This restaurant was new to us and we did not know what to expect. It met, and exceeded, our needs in some respects, but missed in others. The seating, on a busy Friday night took no time and the receptionists were very friendly and cooperative. Our server was quick enough to show up with menus and took our drink orders right away. The food came out to our table in quick fashion! My partner ordered a house special hamburger with sweet potato fries and they both were quite good and prepared exactly as asked for. I ordered the 'Brisket Mac', which turned out to be a major mistake. The macaroni portion was okay and there did seem to be some cheese in there somewhere but the brisket - touted as 'shredded brisket' - turned out to be small to medium chunks of essentially gristle or fat. I did find a few small morsels of meat but they were somewhat rubbery and pretty tasteless, but it was mostly gristly fat. In short a LONG was from the described 'shredded brisket' noted in the menu. To be fair, my partners meal was just great...but I'm still wrestling with the gastrointestinal effects of my meal some six hours later! So, great restaurant - maybe a bit loud but it was Friday night, great service - both at the table and when arriving, just maybe pass up the Brisket Mac thing until they find a better cut of brisket to go with the Mac! read more

Stopped in on a busy Friday. We snagged a few bar seats and the beer started flowing. The wife and I split a pitcher and split from there to try different beers we wanted to try. Not usually a fan of fruit beer, but the apple pie beer was on point. Tried several pints, liked them all. Happy hour started at 3 and had many options of appetizers to choose from. Was really excited about this place opening in the west valley. Was told it would be 30 min wait and after waiting patiently for 45 minutes with my 3 kids and wife sweating in the heat outside( along with many other families) we asked and were told it would be another 30 minutes plus wait. The place was wide open with empty tables inside and out but they didn't have the common courtesy to seat people or Inform them that their kitchen is backed up and the time they quoted was more than double. This was our 3rd time to the Surprise location, and it was even better than before. Our server, Kaitlyn L., pointed us towards the jalapeño cheese curds, which were incredible, and recommended the addition of a spicy cheese sauce which took them to the next level. She pointed me towards the Hoppy IPA, which I loved. Our AZ Burger, Pilgrim, and Carne Asada Taco plate were excellent. O.H.S.O Surprise has found a spot in our weekly rotation. AMAZING FOOD & SERVICE! So far I've tried the PB&J Burger, Brisket Mac n Cheese, Pastrami Sandwich, Short Rib dinner, Grilled Cheese, and their Jalapeño Mule. Every single item is excellent. Braden was our server last time. Friendly service. They like having you here. They have a big covered patio with mister fans, foosball, ping pong, and corn hole, and sports TVs throughout. Tried the new OHSO at the Prasade today for lunch. Nice looking place. Very friendly waitress. Music too loud and quite annoying, amking it difficult to chat with someone 2 feet away. The AZ burger with cream cheese very good, tho not much cream cheese. Asked for "crispy" French fries but they were not close to crispy. It was a generous portion of fries. The taco plate was "build your own" with ingredients in little dishes on a large platter, but miniscule amounts of guac, no cheese, and all blah as can be. read more

We have been to other Oh-sos and this has never happened before. We ordered the steak fries because I knew they were consistently good at other locations. We got it and we immediately thought it tasted like old french fries. We pictured cooked fries under a heating lamp in the kitchen then grabbing our order portions and refrying the fries. That's what the consistency was like, hard cardboard. Our server was awesome and nice absolutely no complaints there. He gladly brought back the fries to be remade. Second batch comes along, same thing! I guess don't come to this location for the steak fries because you can go through the drive through of a McDonald's or burros and fries next door to get wayyy better fries that will not cost 18 dollars and avoid the danger of breaking a tooth read more

Not sure what OHSO means, but it should be OHNO. Over a $100 for three people to eat, no alcoholic beverages just sodas, my wife brought home half of her burger, it's OK but you can get three double doubles for the same price and these place is no where near as good as In-n-Out. Do yourself a favor and go to Chick-Fil-A which is basically right next door. Of course no alcohol at Chick-fil-A but you will have a lot of money leftover for that. read more

I want to start by saying this review has nothing to do with the personal service I received or the food (service was great and food was good). I have to say I hesitated writing this, but I know what is ethical and what I witnessed was not. I watched an employee being berated, by who I can only imagine being a manager, in front of a bar full of customers, but also her peers. The humiliation from the harassment she experienced brought her to tears. I don't care what industry you are in any employee issues/concerns should never be handled in front of peers, let alone paying customers. I chose this restaurant to enjoy a Saturday out, but instead was taken aback with sadness for the young girl and truly appalled by this individuals behavior. I hope this isn't considered acceptable behavior by this establishment. This girl truly deserves an apology from the Owner (or corporate) and the Managers need to be put through a harassment training course and be reminded of their position and the companies ethic policy, if there is one. read more

We've been wanting to go here since it opened on the West side of town. Finally had the chance to stop in. The service was good but the food was not. The steak fries were WAY too salted, especially considering they leave salt of the table. I ordered the AZ burger "pink" because that's how they ask you if you want it. I took a bite out of the side and noticed it wasn't too hot, bummer. But when I looked at the meat I found that the burger was still very raw on the inside. Like a raw that makes you almost want to upchuck. They did remake it but it seemed like the used all the same topping from the original burger that the onion straws were cold and soggy. These fries were also over salted too. Next time we'll stick to cold beer and cheeseburgers. read more

We went at sat on the patio and it was so nice to be seated outdoors, took my tiny little puppy and they gave him a homemade treat and gave him water. We had a couple items, I'd probably skip the flourless cake but the steak on fries was so good!!! Delicious! read more
