Oil Changers has a Worse customer service! I dont normally write reviews but giving you guys warning! Went to have a change oil last December '21 with them. By January, I got a mail from them saying, I was not charge so I showed them the receipt. Good thing I keep all my reciepts hence it'll be a double charge! By March, time for car service, they called my attention for same issue. Second time, I showed them the receipt. But totally unaccepatable this morning, 3rd time to face same the same problem. Went there yesterday. You drive in and they will tell you what to do so you can stay safe in the car while they do their thing. Fast, well coordinated, and professional. They make recommendations for other stuff but aren't pushy about it. Some of the cabin filters I had were disgusting. I have to say after they changed it I could feel the cool breeze of clean air. So not sure what I think of this place. They were a little slow and apologized profusely for that. One or 2 guys went to lunch as I drove in. Also, they don't carry Mobile 1 Synthetic. I had called and was left with the impression they did when in reality it was some off brand synthetic. Prolly just as good. The other thing is when I go some place to get my oil changed I really just want them to change my oil. I don't need my air filter inspected, or my lights, brake lights, turn signals checked. Also I don't need my tire pressure checked and my windows washed. Just put on a new filter and change my oil. And, and, you don't need to see my driver's license and you sure as hell don't need my VIN number. I told my gurlfriend to not go here for this reason alone. No way do these guys need to know where she lives. Uh hell no. Prolly the best part of the experience was they are right across the street from Speisekammer a German beer hall. These guys are awesome. Super fast and friendly. I always tip $20 because they deserve a little extra appreciation in my opinion. Their manager on duty even helped me with a separate issue with my car at no charge. He also split the tip between the guys while I was still there (he didn't take any) so I knew it was going to them. I was in and out of there in 20 mins. Stellar service! I drove up on a Thursday at 8:30AM and only had a short wait to get in. Shawn, who's also the manager, was the only one working at the time and I gotta say how impressed I was with how well he communicated and multi-tasked having to work on two cars at once, in addition to keeping those cars waiting in line in the loop. I decided last minute to get the works, including the Fuel System Service, which tacked on another 15 minutes to the time, and Shawn remained cool, calm, and collected - not to mention super friendly - throughout up until another technician arrived. He even took $5 off the bill for the inconvenience, which was incredibly generous and appreciated. Big praise to Shawn and team for the great work they do; the pandemic has vividly highlighted how much society depends upon essential workers and lube technicians are no exception to keeping our cars well maintained and safe to drive. I've lived in Alameda for two years and I've been getting my oil changed here every single time. The customer service is great, the price is fair (even better with a coupon!), and they are pretty quick with the oil change. I always go right when they open so I can't comment on how busy they are during prime time hours. The thing I like the most about this place is not just the speed and expertise but their HONESTY. I've run into SHAWN (or Shaun? ‍) most of the time and he is the person I am mainly writing this review for. He is not afraid to give it to me straight and does not try to make money out of me like other places I've run into. For example today I came in to get my oil changed and he said I still have about 400 miles until I need to get my oil changed. Instead of just taking my money and having me leave completely oblivious, he showed me how to correctly read the oil level and hand wrote a detailed sticker on when I should get everything done. I went ahead and got my oil changed anyway but I really appreciate his kindness with educating me. This place's honesty is what keeps me a faithful customer. Literally* At this point I am trying to convince my significant other not to go back to OIL CHANGERS(ALAMEDA) My significant other took my truck to the Alameda location - Oil Changers. -Please don't! DRIVING down the freeway, * HOOD SWINGS/POPS UP* In traffic while driving down the freeway... They didn't put the top/cover of the fuse box back on and so the hood stayed ajar and never shut properly.. Why were they messing with the fuse box to begin with?!? -Forgiven! For months our Ford truck was leaking oil... I blamed it on it being an older truck.. EVEN THOUGH it never leaked before.. Eventually we took it in for an OIL CHANGE...(LOCAL) "We can't do it because the oil plug is wrong and that's why it's leaking..." We have several older cars.. I took her car to the West Grand/ Oakland spot.. they served it and were Uber professional, they did what a company should do.. service, made money, courteous, polite and professional! I was super surprised when the specialist informed me they didn't know how to reset the oil life on my vehicle after the oil change I was basically told to figure it out myself. You would like they would know how to, they are the specialist. I had to it myself, didn't have any other choice. read more

I've been to several Oil Changers locations and this is by far the best. Quick, friendly and professional. I had my wife's car which is a quirky little thing they don't see often. I was impressed that at the end of the service, the guy called the other employees over to show them how to reset the oil change warning light and not only did they watch and learn, they sincerely seemed happy to learn. Needed an oil change as I was about to travel from Oakland, CA to Yorktown, VA. Oil changers was available. I didn't even have to get out of my car as it was a cold windy day. Chatty crew, especially the female as she complained how cold it was. It was entertaining. They offer military discount as well which is a huge plus and I am grateful for their recognition. These guys are efficient, no nonsense and knowledgeable. Their directions are clear and helpful. Since I don't know anything about cars, and the technicians typically know that, I hate when other places try to up-sell you or charge for unnecessary auto work. Not here. The two professionals told me what they saw, and sought my input. If I said no, they said "no problem" and gave a recommendation after honoring my choice. When they knew I was a veteran, they treated me like family. I kind of want to come over just to hang out... but instead I'll just come by for the next oil change and every oil change after that. They were fantastic. Everyone I spoke to was extremely nice in-spite of the fact it was clear some people aren't very nice to them. I got into a line and someone else pulled up into the other one a few minutes later. They were going to be next on that side and the entire staff started trying to accommodate moving me over because I had gotten there first. When I said I was fine it was the difference of only a few minutes, they thanked me and continued to thank me because other people would have been upset with them. My service was done quickly and efficiently, and this is a big one for me, I didn't feel spoken down to as a woman as often happens with any car maintenance. I went in July and all of this still stands out very clear to me. The pricing was great and everyone was wearing masks. I will be back. read more

How often to you go to a oil place, and they turn you away for service? I don't know how many times I have gone into an oil change place, and they recommend I get an "engine flush". Usually go to a different Oil Changers, but I guess they are all connected, and can tell when last done... Wish I got the employees name, but when he looked me up he told me I still had 1k miles left on this oil change and didn't need to do it. I was surprised, since the last place recommended 3500 miles to change. Even though I didn't do the oil change, he still topped off fluids and checked the air pressure on tires. Just doing that earned my future business..... definitely will be going back for future oil changes... read more

Needed an oil change badly so I went to Oil Changers and it was my first time there. Daniel was the tech who helped me and I was very impressed with his professionalism, courteousness and knowledge of my vehicle - not to mention the extra time he spent on my vehicle. I had my check engine light on for awhile and he took a few extra moments to diagnose it and let me know what the code meant went he attached his OBD machine to it. Thankfully it was something minor, but his expertise and taking the time to give some extra help was much appreciated! I tried this place for the first time recently. The reason I'm really writing this review is because I wanted to give a shout out for not doing unnecessary work for the customer. I was getting my oil change. This person drove in and asked for an oil change. They exchanged some info with the worker and then the worker basically said, "you don't need an oil change". (It was an older lady who I'm assuming wasn't driving much.) They treated her well.
