This was a great stop on my sushi journey. I've tried a few but this was definitely top 10 places. The service was friendly and organized. The ambiance was kinda mid because the music kept getting interrupted by commercials. So it wasn't the best of vibes but it was decent. The rolls and nigiri was fresh , no fishy smell or taste.

The best of the best! A great deal and always fresh and delicious!~ My obsession and cravings for raw fish started at this lovely establishment! I used to take tinder dates here and then run into them with other dates lmao! (I'm married now so it's something I laugh about) This is the spot

This is our first time trying this place. We did the ayce. The sushi wasn't that good. The rice tasted like it have too much vinegar in it. The fried calamari was tasteless. The service was good. Food came out quick and she kept coming back to check on us. Probably won't be back since there are other better ayce restaurant in other area.

The place was pretty empty upon walking in around 7:45-8 pm on a Wed night. Service was great. We did the ayce menu for $26.99. Was it worth $26.99? It was pretty unexceptional. I love sushi and I eat sushi from grocery stores all the way to Michelin level. - Miso soup - 5/5 hard to mess up - Japanese fried chicken - 2/5 it was okay. Didn't really taste like Japanese fried chicken that I had at countless places. - calamari tempura - 1/5 tasteless without the sauce - rolls - 1/5 - honestly I forgot what I ordered. They weren't memorable and the rice tasted very off. It didn't taste like typical sushi rice. I would not recommend anyone order the sushi because it is that abysmal. -"sushi" section - 5/5 this is the only saving grace and this is why I gave them 3 stars instead of 1. I ordered the fresh salmon, seabass, tilapia, shrimp, fresh water eel, sweet egg, craw fish salad, masago. Next time, if I come here I'll only order from this section and the appetizers. Overall, this place should be skipped and you're better off making the drive to Arlington Heights to get some exceptional sushi.

Decided to stop in and try this location on a weeknight. This place is all you can eat so I figured I would try it out. Positives: good price, very extensive selection, located in a strip mall so plenty of parking Negatives: customer service was not that great. I previously didn't like sushi because of texture. This place had very slimy sushi. Sauces were not that flavorful.

I decided to have all you can eat sushi here for lunch January 2024. Located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. No reservation is needed. They are a pretty strict on what you don't finish you must pay extra for. The menu selection apps/rolls they're were plenty of choices, but for the rolls it was mostly pretty much all maki (rice heavy). Sushi, was pretty good. The service was ok and it's pretty dark inside and all red. The price was affordable.

Good variety of rolls and sushi was fresh. We probably didn't need to go all you can eat, but it was about a wash price wise.

Once we walked in, we waited between 8 to 10 minutes before we were able to flag down someone to give us a table. There was no staff at the reception area, not even at the bar. We were already thinking to leave and walk to the restaurant across the street but it was too cold, so we stayed. Huge mistake. The place was not busy at all, there were only a few tables with customers. For this first (and last) visit, we tried the: Scorpion roll, Las Vegas roll, Crab Rangoons, and the Spicy Ramen Noodle Bowl. By the time we received our dishes, everything was cold. We've tried calling the attention of any server/staff we could see to follow up our orders. The dishes have obviously been sitting somewhere at the counter, that's why they were already cold when they were served at our table. The crab rangoons and the ramen had good flavors, but they were cold. The rolls were just disappointing. I understand that they would probably say that they were understaffed that evening, but I am not sure how that could be justified if the restaurant wasn't even busy with customers. We tried to be understanding with our server, he was pleasant and friendly. Overall, there are so many other Japanese places everywhere. Unfortunately, Wok n Fire Burr Ridge will not be on my list to go back again.

Always feels welcoming and warm (especially in the winter). I cannot say more than all of their food is delicious. The meat is great and fresh, the buffet veggies are tasty, and the extras they offer (sesame balls, spring rolls, etc.) are a nice touch! You can't go wrong with any of the broths, but don't be shy to try the spicy. It is not overwhelming and adds great flavor. The staff is great and always willing to answer any questions. This one's building looks like a beautiful lodge. While there is an online Yelp waitlist (that goes up to 6 people), we had a party of 8 so I called the restaurant and they were happy to put my name down for a reservation. We came to celebrate my dad's birthday. We brought a cake to share, and when we arrived, our server was gracious enough to store it in the fridge until we were ready. We had 6 adults and 2 kids. Kids under a certain height (I forget the details exactly) are free. So we didn't have to pay for the little ones, and not like toddlers appreciate hot pot anyway. It was more, "how do we make sure they don't touch the pot?!" which went totally fine. It's to position the high chairs the furthest away from the knobs/hot surfaces. On our end of the table, we got the half-half broth of classic marrow and the gold cabbage marrow. The golden marrow was SO GOOD. I would get this again and again, because it's hot/sour; the flavor of pickled cabbage and the spice of Szechuan peppercorns. Our server said the spice builds over time, and it did. It was so flavorful that I barely used my dipping sauce. If you like hot/spicy and sour, choose this broth, it is DELICIOUS. The sauce station and the prepared food buffet was located in the middle-back of the dining area. It's a little packed and cozy in there, especially during the dinner rush, you may need to wait a little longer or keep an eye on the area to determine when to get out of your seat. This same area has self-service personal ice cream cups, soda, additional toppings/veggies/proteins, buffet (fried rice, fried chicken, egg rolls, fried buns) AND the sauce station. What I did love is there was a gentleman who was making balloon animals/hats/characters for sale near the front of the restaurant. He says he does this occasionally when he doesn't have other gigs like parties or weddings, etc, so my kiddo and my niece each got a cat and a bunny, respectively. This made their day! And it was nice for them not to be strapped into a high chair the whole time, and have something to entertain them. Overall, 4 shining stars! It would have been great if they had private and semi-private rooms like the Bridgeport location, but I think this wasn't possible due to their building. It looked like they took over a from a Mangia Bubala Roadhouse (Italian and Jewish fare) which took over from a Connie's Pizza. This place has gone through some changes, but it looks like Happy Lamb will be there for the long-run.

Before dropping us off at the airport, my wife's aunt treated us (my wife, her mom, and me) to lunch. I got to choose the place, and the experience ended up being really great. Even though it looks like you are supposed to stand in line to order and pay, the restaurant also supports a typical dine-in experience. It's an open kitchen, with seating on the side. Once we were seated, we were given menus and a tablet to place our order, but our server stayed around to explain that she would be back to help us place the order. She was the only front of house working, and she was friendly and efficient, constantly going back and forth to service to-go order taking and dine-in. The one page menu has two parts: a Chinese part and a Japanese part, and had items that we call could eat. Once we placed our order, the items came out in the following order, after being made to order. Karaage ($6.95) - five pieces of all white meat chicken, freshly deep fried. Everyone liked it, though I wish the coating was crispier. Tonkotsu Ramen ($15.95) - My wife's aunt and I got this. We both agreed the broth should have been served a lot hotter, but it was flavorful. I was especially impressed with the Chashu pork, two thin but generous pieces, nicely crisped first before serving. Edamame ($6.50) - my wife's go-to when at a Japanese restaurant. Chicken Shoyu Ramen ($15.95) - Got one for my wife's mom, and then ordered another for carry-out. One has the choice of thick noodles (classic ramen), or thin, or rice noodles. Pork and Crab Meat Xiao Long Bao ($13.99 for 12 pieces) - one can ask for it prepared steamed or pan-fried. It's great value since it is machine made and guessing prepared from frozen. It's more meat than broth in the filling, and the taste and mouthfeel was OK. But I was impressed that it was offered here at all. Would get it pan fried next time. Scallion Pancakes ($6.50) - served last, this was outstanding. Very thin and crispy. Just wish it had been served first so we could all enjoy...most of us were full by the time it came out. We paid at the end through our server. My wife's aunt really liked the 'Chicago Dumpling' t-shirt that our server was wearing, and wanted one for herself. Our server did mention that they do sell it for $30, but were out of them at the moment. We were given take-home containers to self-pack, and was warmly thanked by everyone before we left. Good value food in a comfortable setting with excellent service: that's what I will remember about Chicago Dumpling.

The restaurant wasn't busy at 7pm on Sunday. We ordered a few drinks, a few different dishes, and an entry from the kids' menu. We quickly received our drinks, which were delicious and exciting. A balanced drink containing tamarind? Come on! We then got our first dish, the Wagyu crispy rice. Amazing. Delicious. Then our sushi came out. Also great! Then Adobe fried rice with pork belly. Super satisfying! But then... a total stall. We hadn't yet received our edamame or our chicken entree. Our server asked if we wanted the check. At that point, our food had time to sit and no one was hungry. So our server asked if we were ready for the check. Sure. Our check arrived at the same time our chicken dish showed up. And still no edamame, which was an appetizer. We were also given another table's bill, which was totally different than ours and showed a credit for something and a zero balance. It was fixed, and we ended up paying our $50ish per person with the only adjustment being that we didn't pay for the edamame we never received. Obvious disconnect between the kitchen and service. But the food we did receive was exceptional. Drinks were novel and playful. But forgetting food and a weird service pace really diminished the overall elegance of Sunda. I feel like we drastically overpaid for the dining experience.
