Absolute 5 stars for this body shop! If I could give an indefinite amount I would. From start to finish, the customer service was beyond amazing. This will be a pretty length review, simply because I do not want to miss ANYTHING in describing my experience with Oka's. I ended up bringing my vehicle here due to an insurance claim. Unfortunately for me, I was left with a huge dent in my front bumper from a hit and run incident. I was referred to this place by my insurance agency (State Farm) and was very pleased that they took care of me. I called to schedule an appointment with them around 4:30 pm on a Thursday afternoon. Shortly after, Helen had me scheduled for the following week to conduct my vehicle inspection and body estimate. She was the most patient and genuine lady when assisting me. The following week, promptly at 8:30 am, I rolled up thinking this place would be like others, no personality and quick to get your business. Well, I was WRONG! Helen walked up to the window to check me in for my appointment with a smile. Shortly after, I was met by Brandon who gave me a thorough explanation of all that he was going to do to complete vehicle inspection. It took less that 10 minutes to take pictures and sign paperwork. Soon after, Brandon had told me I should be receiving my repair estimate by noon that day. By 9:30 am, I had already received the estimate via email! I quickly responded to him, agreeing to order parts and complete the repair. This was sooooo easy! A few hours later, Brandon then called me back to say parts were ordered and that they would be ready to take my car two days later. I was given a rough estimate of about 3 days, which was absolutely fine with me! Two days later, I arrive to drop off my vehicle and the first smile and greeting is from Helen! She remembered exactly who I was! She checked me in for my appointment and proceeded to let me know that she had already called for my rental vehicle. Instead of standing outside, she informed us that we could wait comfortably in our car and that when the rental arrived, to simply leave the keys in the vehicle. She also made sure that I remembered to remove all valuables! Once my rental car showed up, Helen noticed it wasn't up to par, meaning they mistakenly brought me a smaller car, which wasn't compatible to my SUV. She of course took care of it and within the next 10 minutes, I had the correct rental! Thank you Helen!! The next day after dropping off my vehicle, I received a call from another call from Helen. She explained that there were other parts that needed to be ordered because there was more damage underneath. This wasn't an issue with me and I told them whatever needs to be done is okay! A few days later, I received another call, but from Rebecca this time. She explained that the car would take one more day to complete due to the underlying damage. She told me not to worry about the rental, she will contact Enterprise directly and take care of the extension. This was awesome for me! Less work for me right!? I had my rental already taken cared of and my car was one day closer to being back with me. By that afternoon, I had received one more call from Rebecca letting me know that my vehicle was done!! Unfortunately I couldn't grab it due to getting off after they closed, but she assured me that was just fine. I let her know my wife would be there first thing in the morning to pick it up! To make it easier for my wife, I was able to also pay my deductible over the phone with ease! The very next day, my wife was back in her G ride! Happy wife means happy life! I just want to give a genuine and extended thank you to Oka's Auto shop! They are amazing from start to finish! I will definitely be referring as many people as I can here, simply because the process was soo smooth and streamlined from start to finish! Thank you for taking care of me!!! Needed to get the bumper and driver side headlight & blinker replaced. The soonest appointment to even get an estimation was about 4 weeks so if it's an urgent fix, I'd recommend calling ASAP. It took another 3-4 weeks to have the parts ordered and shipped and dropped off the car for a little over a week. The first estimated cost was about $1,600. Long story short, I asked the other driver who was partially responsible to split $800 with me for the damage, which she agreed to. We didn't go through insurance and had to pay in full before ordering parts. Once the car was disassembled, there were a few more problems than expected and additional fees were to be paid at pick up ($967). I was not prepared for this at all but luckily, only paid $835 (I guess some fees were waived, thank you!) Helen updated me every few days and the last morning, which I appreciated. Denise called a few hours before pick-up to let me know the car would be ready at 3:30 pm (closing time is 4:30pm). My car looks practically new, couldn't even tell I've been duct taping it the past few months (LOL)! The money was a tight squeeze for me but now that it's done, I know it was worth it. Hopefully, I won't need car fixes any time soon but if I do, I know where I'll be going. read more

My wife got into a small fender bender and our insurance gave us this company to estimate the damage. Their estimate employee, Jason, gave us a ridiculous quote for such a small minor dent. He basically told my wife to not worry since the insurance is gonna pay for it all. Obviously when someone seems non-trustworthy, I would rather bring my business elsewhere. So then we told them to send our estimate to our insurance so we can look for another body shop. They basically didn't send the estimate to our insurance, even though we made 4 phone calls. The manager finally got on the phone with my wife and the estimate was sent. This company then sent us a letter stating that they are closing our case. The company followed up by sending our insurance a revised quote for less than half their original quote. Such DISHONESTY. For a small locally owned shop, I would hope for a bit more Aloha. read more

A late review but better late than never :) I was involved in a little fender bender that left some minor scratches on my rear bumper. I was blessed in that the other individual was honest and their insurance covered my repairs. From prior experiences, I decided to try somewhere new and turned to Yelp. Oka's popped up and their reviews seemed pretty good so I made the call to schedule a time for repairs. They are located in Waipahu Industrial area. The parking lot is definitely a tight fit and would take some maneuvering if you're not the best driver. The receptionist is very nice and on top of calling with updates, calling the rental car company for pickups, and offering you water/tea/coffee. Brandon greeted me and took me outside to look over my car. I asked if it would be possible to repair some damage that I did to the car and he said he would be able to and noted it separately from the insurance claim portion. He only charged me $50 for the repair (it was a pretty mean scratch too!) I was called for updates on my car which I thought was nice. Picked up my car on time, and the workmanship was spot on. Okas workmanship quality. Explained Bmw rear bumper repair on 20140819, 0830, spoke with Brandon about the damage and what was needed to be done. After his inspection he said he will get back to me on the estimate and what repairs were actually needed. I then spoke to the clerk at the desk Hellen and she already called for enterprise. She was great and polite. Through out the day I awaited for a call from Brandon or someone from okas to let me know what was needed to be done. I didn't recieve any calls and to my concern I took the initiative and called before closing. I spoke again with Hellen And she stated that the estimate states that it just required minor work to bumper to include dent repair, paint and just general. What I got was that it would take two days to repair. Time for pickup, this time it was early and just took a day. Upon inspection, repair was not explained in detail after stating that the vehicle was ready for pick up on the 20. After general explanation, inspection of the vehicle repair was made by me and found a few things wrong, fallout within a 16 inches of rear bumper area around repair and ripples on clear coat. Also damage beneath bumper was overlooked and was not fixed. The walk around was a fail due to greasy finger prints and unclean. Explained to employee and he understood and wanted to redo the car, he was extremely apologetic. They will redo the car and get back to me on the results. Second results looked way better at least at the area that had the original damage. Took the car home the next day and inspected it. Once again the area that had the original damage looked great and they did a great job fixing their over spray and fall out. The car wasn't totally clean, it had some dust that collected over the days. The car being dusty mad clear to me that they didn't do a second wash. This was around 3 to closing on Friday the 22 August. I was satisfied anyways cause the area of interest looked great. I rewashed the car the next day and reinspected with detail and the car looked great until I reached the rear bumper. The over spray and fall out this time around was at the opposite side of the rear bumper, around the edges. I was mortified because I saw it when I picked up the car but thought it was just dust and grime. This is a Saturday when their shop is close. I thought to my self, do they even inspect the car and their quality of work which they should take pride in before they call the owner for pickup of the vehicle? Do they even have a quality assurance inspector or at least inspect the whole car especially the area section that they work in/on/around after/during the work. At least do another inspection when they wash it. Third try to get it done and fix their mistake/neglect. Called on Monday and spoke with Marlo, once again their customer service is outstanding, polite and straight to the point. Scheduled it for Thursday 0830 August 28. Brought the car in and had them look at the bumper and the area that had the over spray and fallout. Spoke with Jonathan this time. Straight to the point and no doubts, he said that we will fix this, no problem. I asked how long will something like this will take to work. He said 20 min. I said ok, I'll wait. 0914 was when he took my keys. 0940 they brought the car back and I reinspected, they were able to remove the paint imperfection but couldn't remove the gray flakes and dirt. I kind of knew that it wasn't possible unless the strip the clear coat and sand and reprint and respray. I wasn't satisfied, I wanted them to fix it. I spoke with Hellen and they took the car the same day, I asked Jonathan what they were going to do. They won't be taking of the bumper, they will work it on the car. I'm concerned. They might do damage to the whole car. I can only hope for the best. I failed to mention that I detailed the bmw prior to taking it to okas, so it's clean. They estimated that it will be done and ready for pickup tomorrow. Car was returned on date with the damages stated above fixed. My only concern is that in order to remove the damage done by over spray and debris, they have had to strip the clear coat and reapply, the only concern is that they didn't reapply the clear coat. At that moment it looked like they did but upon further inspection when I got home and cleaned the car, clear coat is gone at the area of the damage cause by the shop. I took the car home anyways in fear of the shop causing further damage to my new vehicle. It's close to looking like it did prior to the accident only no clear coat on the damage that they fixed. Notes when taking your car back and if you care, do a detailed inspection at the shop of the damage area and the surrounding. I know the didn't do inspections of the work or will admit to it prior to stating that the car is done. Please read and consider all facts before choosing a repair shop. I hope my experience with Okas will educate you and influence your shop choices. read more

Great service. Of all the body shops with good reviews, Oka's was able to see me the soonest. The front desk and mechanic were very professional, polite, and accommodating. I went in the morning for an estimate to replace one of my rear tail lights. It took less than 15 minutes for the mechanic to look at the vehicle and give an estimate. They gave me several options and prices. I felt like they really shopped around for me to see who had what parts (factory or generic--- I didn't care which just needed one quick for my old, old caravan so that I can get a safety inspection) and how soon they could get one in. In the end, they found a part that could be installed that afternoon. When I went in that afternoon, I had to bring my three young children with me. The staff treated them well and kindly. All in all, I was in and out less than 15 minutes again (maybe bc I had three young children :-D though they never made me feel like they were rushing my family out). The total cost came under the amount of the original estimate. I'm also very satisfied with the work done. I would definitely go there again. I got my car in December 2014 and my new car got hit by a handivan. So my insurance company set up an estimate appt for me at Oka's auto body. My appt was the following day after the collision. I haven't been to any other auto body shop to compare to but I must say that I'm very happy that I chose this place to get my car fixed. Helen (receptionist) is really nice and friendly. She greets you right when you enter. And they offer coffee, water, and tea. Brandon did my estimate and he was very nice and explained to me the process of what would happen during the repair. Once I dropped off my car for repair this company is very good with communication. Helen called me everyday with update with my car, my car was finished on time and at the day of pick up, 2 staff members were there to show me the repair and let me inspect the car and waited for me to see if I have any questions. They gave me a little thank you gift bag which I thought was really nice. After having my car for 2 days after my first repair someone hit and run my car, leaving minor scratches on my front left bumper. Got another estimate and Brandon laid out all my options. He explained the repair process and he offered to put touch up paint on my bumper as a temporary fix just so that it wasn't too noticeable from afar. Well...we had another rear end collision...this time it was my wife's car...It happened on Kahekili Hwy at the intersection of Kulukeoe st in Kaneohe...once again, we were at a complete stop (police vehicle right in front of us)...when this individual in a new CR-V proceeded to hit my wife's car going around 40mph...I don't know what these people are doing, but driving is not one of them...Just plain not paying attention to driving...be careful out there. Called up Oka's and Brandon had a tow truck setup and the car brought in... They took care of everything...Helen called in updates and estimated time of completion on a regular basis. I received a call when the work was done...awesome...looked better than new! Car was detailed and cleaned inside and out...wow! Great Service. Although I haven't been to other body shops in Hawaii to compare, I can safely say, after my past two experiences with Oka's Auto Body, they are one of the best on the island, and has been my go-to place for repairs. After my first rear-ender a few years ago (not my fault), I had to find an auto body repair shop near where I lived. Maybe it was the very pleasant and courteous manner of the receptionist Helen that persuaded me, but after talking with her and explaining my situation, I was convinced to bring my car here for repairs. Actually, all of the staff members I met are professional and courteous. Helen is very attentive to your inquiries, and will update you on a regular basis on the status of your vehicle. Brandon Oka, the owner, isn't just sitting pretty in the office, but rather interacts with the customers on a personal basis. He's very thorough and informative in explaining what repairs will be done to your vehicle. Bonus points for having a Keurig coffee maker too. When my car was finished being repaired, I was pleasantly surprised at the work that had been done. My bumper looked as good as the day I bought my car brand new. After I had my second rear-ender a couple months ago (not my fault again), even though I was recommended another body shop by the insurance agent, I still chose Oka's for repairs due to the last experience. Once again I was very pleased with the courteous service, as well as the exceptional work that was done. Both repairs took about a week to complete, but could be longer depending on the severity of damage. The location is very convenient too. Enterprise rental car is located not far from here, and they too were very helpful in setting up a rental car (they'll drive to Oka's to pick you up). At the end, Oka's also included snacks (macadamia nuts), documents regarding warranty, as well as a survey. Of course, I rated everything as excellent -- they earned that rating. They did a very thorough inspection of my car, providing an estimate of cost and when they would be able to start work. Our Lexus convertible was hit in Waikiki with $16,000 damage, and although the insured's GEIKO's recommended auto body was OK, they cannot hold a candle to OKA's in Aiea, a family run business for decades. They know how to do the job right and they do it, whereas, most auto body's may "know" how to do it right, but due to insurance issues, they do not, and are not truthful, cutting corners. Luckily USAA recommends OKA's, whereas many insurance companies do not include them, because it will cost them more. Generally, you get what you pay for, yet OKA's is still comparable to cost with GEIKO's list of auto body shops. OKA's treats you like Ohana, and one of their own, through the entire process. They are bulldogs and relentless in getting it done right, resolving a very tedious almost impossible job, especially in very complicated areas like a convertible. They warranty the work for the life of our car, and when there was an area that needed more attention, they did it within a few days....awesome. Brandon is extraordinary, in every aspect of the process. We refer to Brandon & Andy as island treasures because they are! This is the best auto body repair shop we've used in over 50 years of driving. They told us our repairs would take a week and it did. The shop called to let us know how things were progressing. The people who work there are friendly. Our fender was damaged in a parking lot. Not only did the fender come out perfect, but they touched up every little ding on the car. It was also washed and cleaned on the inside. It's a 7 year old car and looks like its new. The shop was recommended to us by our son and we'd recommend it highly. read more
