I highly recommend Oka's auto body. I got rear-ended on the free way and needed assistance rite away. The next day my insurance carrier suggested Oka's due to its location and convenience. I contacted their shop and they were amazing! I tried a few other body shops prior, but all were full or I couldn't get an estimate till a week later. Oka's were sooo accommodating. They understood my situation and Brandon came within a couple hours to check out my car, even called ahead because he was running a few minutes behind! He was very patient with me and answered all my questions. Even though the truth hurt that my car was a total loss, he was very compassionate and sympathetic to my situation. As he stated he had my quote ready for me first thing the next business day and even though his job was finished he still answered all my dire questions and even checked up on me to see how everything was going. I took my car here based on the reviews on yelp. But my experience wasn't as good as everyone else. I was happy about how quickly I got an appt within a week. I took my car in to replace the trunk and bumper and and they said it would take about 2 weeks or so. I liked that they gave me calls throughout the process to keep me updated with what they were doing. I came in to pick up my car and the paint color was matched nicely but the paint job wasn't so nice especially around the corners and I noticed it. My trunk also wasn't aligned straight . They agreed to take my car back in and redo it plus they got me a rental being that was my only car. When I came back to pick up again they fixed all the spots I pointed out but there seemed to be new spots. So they took it back in again. when I got the car back the third time everything was good...as so I thought. This was back in July I believe, I just did my registration so I removed my license plate cover to put on the new registration sticker it seems they didn't let the car dry well enough before putting the license plate back on and now there's indention of the license plate. Uhhh what more can I say other than I always leave very satisfactied. This is like the 4th time sending my car to Oka's due to idiot drivers on the road! Working for Toyota and being a car enthusiast, I know what to look for and they do everything great and they meet and go above my expectations. Ok so let's get straight to it. Returning customer to Oka's. Previous experience was awesome. Customer service and paint and bodywork seamless. Fast forward to today. My Armada had literally three dings like the size of no bigger than a nickel and wanted an estimate done. Receptionist friendly and went to talk to someone a male to see if could get an estimate done today. The answer? Gotta make appointment for this Thursday. May not be a big deal to some but it is to us. It's a Monday I get it. But it was clearly not busy for an estimate. While sitting waiting for my car to be done, she offered me coffee and made sure I was comfortable. The staff at Oka's is great. My Tacoma had tailgate damage, which was the result of a rear end collision, and the repairs were completed in a timely fashion. I have had the unfortunate experience of visiting Oka's 3 times (due to damages that were not my fault), but each time, I have picked up my truck very satisfied with the workmanship. Brandon was very professional with his handling of the estimate, and Helen gave me timely updates on the status of the repairs and took care of the insurance company issues. First off I really liked this shop at first. They were very professional and they seem like a nice family business. It all went wrong when I went to pick up my car today. First they couldn't find my paperwork. Then it took them like 20 minutes to bring my car around. It all would have been fine but after having my car for 2 weeks they try to give it back to me with reverse sensors the wrong color. I mean how do you send a car out to another shop, get it back and not notice that they're not even close? Did they think I wouldn't notice? Not to mention that I wasn't informed that they were sending my car to another shop. So then Marlo goes to find out what happened and comes back out to tell me that the shop they sent it out to put the wrong ones on. No apology. She said she'd have to call me after talking to the other shop but they are now closed for the day and I didn't hear from her. This accident wasn't my fault and the other guy's insurance is paying so this was already an inconvenience and now I have to be inconvenienced again? And they can't be bothered to fix the problem? I will definitely be filing a complaint with the better business bureau. read more

Loved this body shop! My rear bumper got hit by my neighbor while parked in the driveway. Her insurance covered my repairs and Oka's was a preferred shop that was relatively close to where we live. I am not from Hawaii, so I was skeptical as to how the body shops here would compare to those back home. (My husband also used to do body work so he knew what to look for in a good shop.) Oka's was awesome! From the first time calling them, Helen at the front desk was so sweet! She gave detailed directions and has a great voice for a receptionist! I was pregnant when I went in for my estimate and I didn't even have to go out to the car. Brandon was so nice and it was quick and efficient service. They let me choose when to drop the car off and they were exactly right about the estimated time in the shop. The work was great. (Even my husband said so!) Every person we came into contact that worked at the shop was great. I had my baby when we picked up the car, and they insisted that we get her loaded in the car with the AC on before they went over the repairs. The complimentary coffee, water, and goodie bag are nice touches. I would definitely use this shop again and recommend it to anyone needing repair work here in Hawaii. Thank you Oka's! read more
