We came here in a Friday afternoon. Not a busy store with only us and another table. We ordered the Combo with snow bowl and baked rice cake which are pretty good. The baked rice cake is not fresh made, its prepaid but it's actually good with red bean and pecan even tho it's not hot as I expected. The snow bowl is way too small then I expect but it's pretty good. The milk snow flake is good with red bean and mochi on the top. Over all tasty but a little bit expensive for size. The original price of the snow bowl is $9.25 and the baked rice cake is $2.75. We order combo so it's $11.50. I think it's good for 2 girls to share! read more

The lady taking our order was really nice. It was our first time so she recommended the green tea for us. The order took a little longer than expected but when we went to pick it up I was like O_O;;;;; -After a few selfies with the dessert (lol, the presentation is sooo pretty) bf and I dug in. Love the fluffy rice cake. It tasted like plain soft dough- not much flavor but loved the texture. -Red bean was amazing! Still chunky not complete mush. It was the perfect amount of sweetness -The green tea tastes like authentic matcha. I buy organic matcha powder for baking and it tasted EXACTLY like the powder. And idk, the powder I purchase is almost 10-15 dollars for a TINY (shot glass size). So if it's the same quality.. I understand the steep pricing for such a small portion of bingsoo. The shaved ice was really standard ice with something that tasted like greek yogurt , a shit ton of coconut, and granola. I was like... okay me'eh.... The red bean porridge was unusual. Imagine eating something where after two spoons you want to quit eating. That's the feeling I got from eating the porridge. It was mushy beans that was a tad too sweet for my taste. But since the dessert here was a cost of a Big Mac I kept eating. What really shocked me was the size of the portion. In the photos the shaved ice looked huge. I rushed to give this place a review because of the amazing service! We ordered one of those parfait cups, but someone in our group was allergic to nuts and when it came we saw it had nuts. I don't even remember if ingredients were clear on the menu or not, but anyways the friend got up to tell the cashier about it (not to complain! just to tell them) and they insisted on making us a new one at no extra charge. I happily support business with service like that. This place is definitely quality over quantity. I got the green tea with red bean and I savored every bite melting on my tongue. For those complaining about portion size, you're not supposed to scarf it down like you would at Guppy or Yami where they give you 2 gallons of shaved ice and dump a can of condensed milk on it. This place serves really delicious, traditional korean patbingsoo, so you wont see banana slices and ice cream and fruity pebbles here (which is still good). They make their own redbeans every morning that have come from korea. Its not the canned redbean paste that most cafes serve on their bingsoo and you can def. taste the difference. Ive had their og bingsoo and the ohgok (5 grain) bingsoo. Both are really good with a light fluffy milk-ice as the base, a layer of redbean, some more milk ice, redbean and topped with 2 pieces of dduk. The ohgok has a fine powder of 5 different grains layered in with the beans and on top which give it a nutty flavor. The redbeans are not too sweet, and still hold their form, unlike cannes redbeans that are way too sweet and mushy. I came here with my bestie and her bro, for we never had Korean shaved ice before and was super curious of what it's like. The drive here wasn't bad and the parking was pretty easy to find too. We came on a weekend and we were the only ones there, and the workers there are really nice and our orders went thru swiftly, and got our shaved ice in no time. We enjoyed our shaved ice so much I decided to try out their taiyaki pastries for $6-something (you get 5) and right when I was enjoying the warm bread, the red bean filling spilled, landed in my arm in pretty great pain, I was sorta used to burns so I just shook it off and planned to put aloe Vera on it regularly. Turns out the red bean filling was so hot, it can cause a burn that swells up; and I've been waiting for it to go away in the last few days. Should this establishment be responsible for my injury? Sure, they never warned me of how hot it is, but I never charged a company before and I don't really want too cause I honestly like shaved ice I received, even the taiyaki that left a burn, and the service. If this incident was prevented with a simple warning, they would have gotten 5 stars from me honestly. If you're a big fan of overly sweet shave ice, then this place isn't for you. But for me, I really love the consistency of the ice & how well they blend it with condensed milk. It's refreshing, but not TOO sweet. The mound of red beans they put on top of the OG snow bowl adds all the sweetness :) Unfortunately, the price of a quality bowl here is $8-9... pretty expensive for just shave ice, but I think it's worth it if you go once in awhile. read more

I don't live in LA, but every time I'm down there, I make it a point to come to Okrumong. This place does shaved ice RIGHT. I've tried the Gold, Green, and Black Bowls here and they are all phenomenal. Most recently, I was back last weekend, and ordered the Black Bowl. If you like black sesame, this is probably the best thing you can eat with black sesame. So refreshing after a long day, it's arguably THE ideal dessert. All their bowls come with red beans, which are cooked perfectly and add the perfect texture when eating shaved ice. They also give you a couple small pieces of mochi with each order. Inside the shop feels very authentic yet surprisingly modern as well. Tea/water is on the house and the staff is extremely friendly. Basically, I love this place. So the only reason to try this place at least once is the taste. We came here to try the Green Tea Snow. The snow is delicious here, but I love how their red beans are freshly made at store every day! Since all tables were taken, we had to take out the shaved ice. If you go on the weekends, you will unlikely to find a spot to sit down. I really think this place's pricey since the bowl is so small, but it's good. I would recommend trying at least once, but after then it's, 50% & 50% whether you'll come back or not. Dudeeeee this place is bombbbb! All of their snow bowl looks cute & tastyyy. However, it tends to be a little pricy with about $ 9 each bowl. Each bowl is good for one or two person(s) and comes with sweet red bean paste and two rice cakes/balls. The sweet red bean paste is their signature piece as well as their rice cakes/balls. The rice cakes/balls are very soft. The snow itself tastes like shaved milk ice plus other ingredients if you have ordered something other than the original snow ball. The snow tends to melt down quickly and may make a mess, but it's not that bad. It tends to be crowded during weekend, but the customers tend to come and go quickly so it's not that bad unless you have more than 8 people with you. Came here after checking out Jae Boo Do for a late lunch, and was pleasantly surprised by how tasty the bingsu is. I ordered the OG traditional patbingsu (milk shaved ice, red bean, rice cake) and loved it. I like that the milk bingsu has that strong, distinct milk flavor with a great balance of sweetness; most milk bingsu I've had have the milk taste but aren't actually very sweet--like they just froze milk, alone, and turned that into shaved ice. This is a good change from the snow ice you get at Chinese shaved ice places (e.g. Class 302, Fluff, Guppy Teahouse) which are made with a ton of condensed milk. ---I looooove condensed milk w/shaved ice, but it's nice to have a change of pace. Red bean topping is made fresh, rice cake was soft, still warm, and nicely chewy. The only complaint I have is that the portions are small for the price; $8.25 for bingsu in what is only a bit larger than a rice/soup bowl---though it is generously heaped, of course. The size is perfect for one person, although it can be shared with another (saw many couples doing this in fact). It's tasty enough that I'd recommend getting one all to yourself :9 Presentation and taste, all very simple, refined, clean, and refreshing. You can really taste the quality, which toppings like fruity pebbles and ice cream and stuff you get at many patbingsu places mask. There are some interesting variations here too, like one with honey and granola, or yogurt and berries, and even a mango one. They also have hot red bean porridge and sweet pumpkin porridge, which look pretty good too. I'm going to bring my mom here next time, definitely recommend.
