Went here for brunch on my dads birthday. Wasn't disappointed. The mimosas were great. Everyone was pleased with their food. I had the shrimp and grits. They were great. A lot of the other diners got the chicken and waffles and they enjoyed it. One of my sisters got the French toast sandwich. It looked so good. I wish I had gotten that as well. She loved it. I've visited this place twice. The first time was a phenomenal experience. The food was excellent and probably the best chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life. In fact, the experience was so wonderful I decided to make the trek back the following weekend and we arrived at 10:45 (they open at 11:00) When we came back at 11:05, they already had two 6+ tops sat along with some smaller tables. The Hobo burger with chips was so good that I lost track of time and forgot to go back to work. Starts with a buns soft like Hawaiian bread, then the nice runny fried egg, next is the fried crispy onions that decorated all over the plate, melted cheddar cheese and bacon that was just right, and the most important thing, the juicy meat that was had the perfect taste "flavorful and not salty". Biting into it was heaven. Chips looked very homemade that was fried lightly and thin. Such a texture like one if the finest chips I've ever eaten. So fluffy I wanna die feeling. Ol Railroad Cafe: a restaurant that will probably stop you in your (railroad) tracks. Food: It's pretty good! I usually have gotten the Hobo Burger. I wouldn't go as far to say it's the one of the best burgers I've had, but it's PRETTY high up there. Service: Very very friendly; it's what's bumping up my review from 4 stars to 5 stars. On one of my visits, we were conversing with the owner for a sizeable amount of time. He's a great guy and definitely has a lot of Rosenberg pride (esp. local businesses). I'm personally not from Rosenberg, but I always have great respect/admiration for people that appreciate their local roots. We were talking about the theatre located in the historic district and, at the end of the meal, he actually took us to the back showed us an old stage lift the theatre used back in the day during performances. Atmosphere: I absolutely love the interior. It's a great mixture of eclectic-ness and old-town aesthetics, which definitely makes it feel cozy and personable. I'm not sure if it's still there, but I remember the bar counter surface was made up of hundreds of pennies (or dimes? I forgot) with a glass cover on top. The owner made it himself, which I thought was pretty awesome. In general: Will definitely return when I'm in the area. A local family favorite, we love to take our out of town guests here. The staff is great and the food even better. We particularly love their burgers. The Hobo is my personal favorite. They also have great desserts. Although we usually have to order them to go, as no one has room for dessert after such a great meal. Their portion sizes are huge! read more

I've been here once before never had an issue but today 08/20 we walked in we sat ourselves and we weren't event greeted by our waitress she didn't tell us her name nor a good morning. Best food ever!! Many people don't know that this place exists because it's snuggled close to the railroad. It is awesome and I suggest everyone come by! Delicious food! I had the strawberry salad with chicken. The strawberry salad's dressing was unique (it had thyme in it or something) so it didn't taste like your typical strawberry salad (in a good way). I'm from out of town and love eating at local restaurants. My friend brought me here after church on Sunday morning for lunch. As we came in, we were greeted and told to sit wherever we wanted. Our order was taken immediately. We got our food (we both had burgers) in about 25 mins. We were starving by then! I got the Hobo burger which has bacon and an over-easy egg. The flavor was good but it felt a little dry. I realized then that the meet was well-done; the waiter didn't ask how I wanted my meat done. However, the egg was done how I like it and the bacon they used was thick and delicious! The fries were a little too crunchy for my liking. Highly recommend this restaurant! The food was amazing! Today was our 1st day eating there. We are new to the area and will for sure be back many times! So delicious!! We visited here for Sunday brunch. Sadly disappointed. Bloody Mary's were served with a lime wedge and three tiny olives on a plastic sword. Flavorless. We had to ask for Tabasco to make them drinkable for the $8 we were paying. I ordered a make your own omelet which was served not as I ordered and shockingly small. It was also very dry. The breakfast potatoes served with all of our dishes appeared to have been cooked at the beginning of service and then served throughout the brunch. Very brown, chewy and old. My husband ordered the hobo burger which was mediocre at best. One child ordered the chicken and waffles and was satisfied. Another child ordered the pancakes and was satisfied. Not impressed.
