My mom and I went here on a Saturday for brunch. They were pretty busy and we sat at the bar; nothing else was available. A guy walked up and gave us our menus, he brought us our waters, and we never saw him again. He was nice though. We had 3 different waiters and had to track one down anytime we needed anything: coffee, to order food, to get the check.. anything. Kinda sad considering we were sitting at the bar. My mom got the ham and cheese sandwich with some type of cranberry chipotle spread on it. It was pretty good! I got the chicken and waffles. What a bust. The chicken was thin.. wasn't crispy. The waffle was soggy and fell apart. No crisp at all. If I dipped the waffle in to the syrup, half or more of the waffle crumbled in to the syrup. Anyway, don't order that. It looks like they have plenty of good things on the menu, but that's not one of them. All in all the experience was, "meh, I could have gone anywhere else and felt the same I guess." read more

The lovely little restaurant is tucked in a hundred years old building near the railroad tracks that once ran through town. (Town has migrated south over the years.) Burgers and sandwiches seem to be their lunch thing and she had "819" which was burger with bacon, lettuce, tomato an aoli sauce and avocado. She really loved it. I ordered the Chili Burger which came with chili and beans, cheese, burger and string onions on top. Never had chili and beans on a burger before but it really works. My burger came with fries (a little more done than I like them but very good) and she got slices of fruit. Staff was great and would happily recommend this place. read more

Every time we've come to Ol' Railroad Cafe we've enjoyed ourselves and the delicious food. Kids portions are decent and my kids devour them. Healthy portions for all burgers and sandwiches too. A nice little cafe with sandwich menu for lunches but I've been here several times now for dinner with my parents in past years. Celebrating my Dad's 88th birthday on this first 2019 visit. We had the crab cakes, lamb shank, pot roast and the pork chop! All very delicious! Expect to be back again before his 89th! He chose the Grand Marnier creme brûlée for his "birthday cake". A local favorite for us! They have a decently supplied bar and great wait staff as well. Forgot to post the review so doing an update. Here again in July to celebrate their 65th anniversary with their three grandkids. Now back for my birthday. Appetizers we selected were the Blue Crab Cakes and the Pulled Pork Quesadillas. A little disappointed in the crab cakes - didn't hold together and couldn't really taste the crab. Mum has gone with the beef pot roast for the third time this year and Dad selected the Angus ribeye - photos of both attached. I've gone with the Lamb Shank, a chef favorite and mine now too. Both loved their main courses and loading up their doggie bags to enjoy at home too. This just maybe our last visit here this year but Lord willing, we will all be back next year!! read more

We found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try; boy was it an awesome choice! The restaurant has a very unique small town feel with somewhat of a rustic modern vibe. There were people of all walks of life when we went into the restaurant and liked the diverse environment. When we were seated we looked over the brunch menu and decided on the hobo burger and chicken & waffles. The burger was thick and extremely juicy with a very unique flavor on your palate. The taste was great to say the least. The chicken and waffles were to die for, waffles were nice and fluffy, cooked just right, and not too hard. The chicken was a breast patty that had been deboned and fried; it was juicy and had a delectable flavor profile. We were extremely happy with our restaurant choice, the friendly staff, the food, and the atmosphere. We will definitely be back! read more

My husband and I ate here for the first time. I had "The 819 Burger" and he had "The Hobo Burger". They were juicy, flavorfull, reasonably priced, and most importantly to us, they were not greasy. The service was friendly and prompt. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The only downside was the women's bathroom. It could use some additional cleaning. read more

First time trying this place out! Friday night. Live theatre night and this place is located right next door! Lots of great atmosphere and lively on a Friday night. Great small town feel and friendly folks! The food was pretty decent'. My burger was more than enough with a generous heaping helping of fries! The food came out quickly and was fresh! Every time I come here I fall in love with the place again. Ok a bit dramatic but the food here is really good. The first time a came for brunch I had chicken and waffles. The presentation was very pretty, I was surprised because it seemed like a mom &pop place. It's not. The food was delicious!! My hubby had a burger, he loved it. Second trip we had tuna steak on mushroom risotto and grilled squash. Warning, dinner menu is a lil pricey. The tuna was $25. I believe the burgers were $14. Again, presentation was nice. Service was always great. The place isn't packed, always no more than 4 tables filled. Totally recommend this place, located in old Rosenberg by antique shops. This place was a surprise, I never thought that it would be so good. Prices are reasonable, though a little into the high side. However the food was first class. My wife ordered the Pot Roast, this humble dish is elevated to a new high, I had a taste and it was delicious. I had an excellent French Onion Soup and the Sesame crusted seared Ahi Tuna, it comes with wasabi infused mashed potatoes, it is a triumph!! The atmosphere of the restaurant is casual Texas, very attentive staff and great desserts. The berry cobbler is highly recommended. We will go back for sure. read more

This was my first time here. I came because of all of the great Yelp reviews. The reviews were spot on! This restaurant is located in the old part of town next the railroad. The building is very old and gives the place a wonderful sense of nostalgia. The staff is amazing! They are very friendly and knowledgeable. I had the chicken burger and it was delicious. Pretty good! We found this place on yelp and I'm glad we did. I love venturing into historic Rich/Rose and I love that they are trying to fix up downtown with all these new shops and cafes. I ordered the Hobo burger, and a hot chocolate. My daughter ordered the chicken and waffles, and a hot chocolate. And my husband ordered the BYO Omelette. I think by far, the hot chocolates and the chicken and waffles were the clear winner of our breakfast. After having a bite of our daughter's food, we knew we should have gotten it. Delicious. Thick, perfectly breaded cuts of chicken, stacked between Belgian waffles- served with fruit and maple syrup. Hubby said that the omelette was good, but nothing special. The Hobo burger was good, but not the best I've had. Both plates came with potatoes that were pretty good. I ordered my egg over hard and it was definitely over easy. We were in Rosenberg to get my wife her COVID vaccine and while I was waiting look for some places in the area. Decided on this place and were not disappointed. We both got a burger.
