This place has been a staple in this town since i was a child. My friends and all try to come here as often as we can because they are a family owned local business with some amazing eats! The service is great and the environment is always really chill. The amount of food you get for what you pay is just amazing, considering the inflation and price gouging other companies have been doing, these guys keep it real. Good place for quick, fresh Mexican food. Not fine dining but offers solid tacos and burritos. This visit I ordered the potato taco and chicken taquitos. Great portion size and came with complimentary chips and salsa. The green salsa is sooo good. The taquitos came with tomatoes, guacamole, sour cream, cheese and lettuce. They were good, not the best ever, but pretty darn tasty. Overall a good spot for a quick bite in Camarillo. Decent value for the food (even with food price increases). I took mine to go, but they offer indoor and outdoor seating with a great Cali surfer vibe. read more

Customer service was lacking. The individual who took my order was not friendly or welcoming whatsoever. His first words to me were 'Is this to go?', that was it, no smile, eye contact or friendly greeting. I confirmed 'Yes, this will be a to go order", and proceeded to place my order. Meanwhile he did not make eye contact, he seemed stressed out, and was short with me. I had been to this place years ago, and the food seemed okay then, so I thought to give it another try. I was very disappointed. The fish tacos were not good at all. The tortillas were soggy from all of the cheese and other condiments they ladled the tacos with. I separated the fish to try it out, and it was SUPER salty. I had also ordered shrimp tacos, which did not look good at all. I tried one of the grilled and over seasoned shrimp and it was also very salty. So salty, that I couldn't even taste the shrimp. The tortillas were so soggy, I couldn't even pick them up like a regular taco. I did not dive into the shrimp taco, given what I had just eaten (some of the fish taco and 1 shrimp). I was already, and as I write this review, too disgusted to consume anything else from this place. Too much salt, over seasoned, and cheese seemed to cover the entire taco. Good if you like cheese, but not for me. Salsa was probably the best, but that's not saying much. It had a slight aftertaste, not good. The chips were stale, and cold. Overall, too much salt & seasoning, poor customer service, and soggy tortillas. I got a headache, stomach ache, and my tongue still feels the sting from all the seasoning used. I did not feel well after eating their food. I felt like I had to drink lots of water just to get the taste and saltiness out of my system. As such, I won't be going back anytime soon. I guess you can say this restaurant is as salty (food & customer service) as an ocean wave (ola), true to their name, I guess. read more

$15.25. That's the new pre-tax price for a carne asada chimichanga. This place used to be a solid bet for mexican food but the business has changed. Chips now cost an additional charge, and the salsa bar is gone. You can ask for little to-go plastic cups of salsa, but what a hassle and environmentally unfriendly. Considering the surfing community they dwell in, I'm surprised that they don't care more about nature and the beaches they love so much being polluted with plastic waste. For the price, let's be real, the options for better quality or quantity of food now outweighs any benefit of choosing this place. When a place has unrelated advertisements on the table, you would hope that would help reduce the price of the food, but apparently it was only a cash grab for the owner. It's a shame. It had been a while since I stopped by Olas but tonight I craved their crispy beef tacos and cheese enchiladas with beans melted cheese and rice. They didn't disappoint! Taco was delivered to my table so quickly even with a busy house. Food presentation was beautiful and tasted fantastic. My friend had recommended this spot to go eat before we headed to the movies at Regal and I'm glad he did. The burrito was so delicious. As for someone who always orders steak burritos like I always do, the chicken is something else at this restaurant. The service was quick too. The moment we ordered, we had our food at the table in 5-7 mins. They are also so generous with the chips as well, and the hot sauce. As for the interior, they have many surf boards signed and decorated all around with surf theme videos playing through out the tv's. Definitely worth checking out. Definitely becomes one of my top in Camarillo. 10/10 read more

I regret having to write this review as Olas used to be one of my favorite restaurants. Just want to say the food there is fine maybe a little salty if anything. My problem is with the customer service. I have been going out of my way to support Olas for years. A few Saturdays ago I called ahead an order for 4 burritos and a potato taco plate. I got there and still waited about 25 mins, which is fine the place was busy. When my name was called I the lady who bagged up my food assuredly said here you go all your foods here. I drive home for a family dinner (no one but me particularly cares for Olas, but if I'm buying it's my choice) and realize when I get there they forgot a burrito. The only one I had order with meat in it. So we had to divid up portions of what there was to fed everyone leaving many of us disappointed and unsatisfied. I had paid for the burrito I didn't receive, so I called and they didn't answer. (It was 8pm and maybe Olas turns off their phone at 8). I go to the restaurant after the fact and speak with the lady who had bagged and gave me the food I ordered. I said a few Saturdays ago I got food from here you said all of it was there but it wasn't. She immediately got defensive and said it was a mistake and gave an insincere apology. She says what you want a burrito? I just wanted a place I've enjoyed for so long to be apologetic and try to make up for messing up a family dinner. She must of realized I was disappointed because she later says you want a burrito or I can refund your money. I said keep it and that I wouldn't be back. I understand people make mistakes but the way she defended herself made it sound like it's happened more than once and that it shouldn't be a big deal. When you drive almost 30 mins to a restaurant and wait another 25 for food to bring home an incomplete order, yes it is a big deal! Thankfully we live in So Cal where there are plenty of other great Mexican food options. I won't be recommending this place that I've gone out of my way for so long. Super unprofessional. This place will straight up make you feel uncomfortable, and the worst part is it's from the owners themselves. I understand having fun with your customers keeps the people coming back but there is a very clear line between being funny and being a weirdo to someone who you don't know. Was visiting Camarillo over the weekend and dropped in on this magnificent little restaurant. Wife and kids were all hungry after spending the day at the Ronald Reagan Presidential library and found this gem on Yelp. We were greeted very quickly and we instantly fell in love with the decor. There's pictures of surf and surfers all over the place but the food was the real star. I ordered a chili Verde wet burrito and it was so good. We also ordered carne asada tacos, a chimichanga burrito, and a regular burritos and everybody was in love. The nice lady served the food and even made a little friendly conversation. 5 stars all around. read more

In and out we were and then decided to grab a quick bite. Olas was right around the corner so it was a no brained. She ordered up her usual Carne Asada Nachos and I opted for the Chile Verde Chimichanga. Both were done to Beach perfection. Salsa n chips, along with a couple of ice teas. Everything was perfect. Used to be good But years of neglect and inefficient cleaning have left Olas in a state of disgust. Seriously, the bathroom floor has not been mopped in years, bathroom walls with boogers and graffiti on the walls. It only takes removing all the clutter on the walls, a fresh coat of paint, and some deep cleaning to get back some of its quality. Really in bad shape and the nachos I got were so so at best. Amazing burrito joint! The wait staff is friendly and entertaining and the decor is very surfer festive and cozy. The wet burritos are their speciality and the presentation of them are utterly beautiful to say the least.
