Shrimp Taco
Alex G.

I ordered the shrimp taco, and it was honestly one of the best I've ever had. The shrimp was cooked perfectly, and pairing it with their roasted salsa took the flavor to another level--absolutely amazing. On top of that, the service was great, attentive, and friendly. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to whenever I'm craving shrimp tacos!

Food is great . I usually just get breakfast here though. Even in the evenings. Service is quick, always correct, and they execute each dish superbly . Great atmosphere and able to accommodate large parties

It's a spot on the small Channel Islands Campus. Picturesque. I got things to go. Very good taste. Excellent service. You get a disc that vibrates when your order is ready. The veggie burrito was really good and pretty big. Very fresh vegetables. I also ordered the fried zucchini. Had great flavor. Served on a small bed of cabbage and some mild chipotle and ranch were put in the bag. I think the ranch was the better of the two. I would suggest eating them there. The batter got a little soggy. But I did drive for about 15 minutes, after. The salsa bar is great. Many options and labeled well. Very clean environment. The indoor seating looked nice. The walls have interesting art. And the ceiling has good looking fans. I recommend this place. Definitely worth a try.

Delicious food!! Breakfast served all day!!

Enjoyed a nice lunch with my daughter here. Went with the Cuban sandwich! Delicious! Also enjoyed chips and salsa from the fresh salsa bar. Beer and wine available after a long day of classes! Nice outside patio seating is where we posted up. Enjoy.

Location- On Cal State Channel Islands Campus and is only about 4 miles from the Camarillo Outlets. Parking- Easy as there is a large lot right there. Tip- Make sure to check the signs and do not mistakenly park where you need a permit. There are many spots that do not require a permit. Service- Friendly Food- Had the house special burrito. It was good and I would recommend. Fried Zucchini- It was light, crispy and delicious and I would get it again and recommend the chipotle dipping sauce.

Cute small location near the university CSUCI! I had a chicken torta and oh gosh great flavors and was a good size. They do offer a full breakfast menu and lunch. They have multiple drink options such as piña coladas, beers, mixed drink, and regular sodas, jarritos and more. They have a full salsa bar. oh how can i also miss the options of Ice Cream posicles they have as well. They do have indoor and outdoor seating.

Nachos with chicken. Crispy and fried fish tachos

This place is located in CUSCI in a nice courtyard area. The restaurant inside and the patio was clean with friendly and quick service. I took a star off as the nachos are your basic nachos, nothing really special about them but it will satisfy your nacho cravings. However, the grilled fish taco and the crispy fish tacos were fantastic. The fish didn't taste fishy which is a good thing in my opinion. The cilantro rice was nice and fresh. The salsa was super delicious with the perfect blend of fresh ingredients. All in all, I will be returning!

Chicken Torta

This place is located in the CSUCI college market/dining area, across from the pizza place and what looked to be the bookstore. I actually thought it was student dining at first and asked a student if I was in the right place. There was ample parking at 5:00pm, and there were families dining, not just students, most likely from the surrounding apartments and townhomes. Prices are reasonable and the food was on par with what you would expect in any food court. My party had the kids meal which had sliced apples, carrots, and crispy delicious chicken tenders with ranch. The 2 shrimp tacos I'm told were good, and worth coming back for, while the salsas were all pretty flavorful, the green being my favorite. Now here's the bad, the chicken enchiladas were on the "favorites" list so I ordered them, that was a mistake. The chicken was a hard grilled chicken, and the red sauce tasted like it was right out of a can, they were actually still somewhat cold. The rice and beans were flavorless, not gross, but just devoid of any flavor. I could see the rice and beans on the fork, could feel them in my mouth, but alas there was no taste. Disappointed and not wanting to torture myself any further, I didn't finish one of the enchiladas and opted to order a chicken Torta in hopes of getting the taste of the enchiladas out of my mouth. The torta tasted fresh, and did a good job of making up for the enchiladas. The horchata was watered down, more of a horchata flavored water than what an horchata should be. Despite the watery horchata and cold hard enchiladas, I would come back. With fast friendly service, a clean restaurant, and a college atmosphere, it's worth stopping in for a quick bite if you're in the area. That's this critic's review.

Love the vibe of this restaurant. Watched the dodger game which was a plus. Food was delicious and great selection of tap beers.

Nothing really horrible to say about this place. Decent food, BUT...if your order a breakfast burrito & don't want bean & rice, they don't ADD more egg or substitute anything more. They give a specific amount of egg & portion size it. If your take anything out it's SHHHRINKS you're burrito so such the girl even told me it would be "Skinny" well here's my breakfast Burrito/Taquito.. I'll let you all be the Judge of this $7.00 Breakfast Burrito. Worth it?

It's nearly impossible to reach a live person, and the whole experience was incredibly frustrating. Second, I can't say enough about Manny, the GM at Rosa Madera. Even though the problem wasn't the restaurant's fault, he handled the situation with genuine care, professionalism, and integrity. He made me feel like my experience truly mattered, and that's something you don't forget. My order was so completely wrong that he immediately knew exactly which order it was. He took ownership of a situation he didn't create, and that's the mark of exceptional leadership. Rosa Madera is fortunate to have Manny. Because of the way he treated me, they've earned a loyal customer. Oh, and the food was incredible! We had the camarones zarandeados and the queso fundido, and both were absolutely amazing. I HIGHLY recommend Rosa Madera. I sincerely hope Manny receives the recognition he deserves for representing Rosa Madera so well. Great managers make a lasting impression, and he certainly did that!

I shared this delight with my husband and we both enjoyed it. We tried a couple of the giant pastries that were on trays in a baking rack. Though I have to say these were huge and we brought them home to eat them over a couple of days The fiilings are not overly sweet and have unique tastes like mango or pineapple. The crust is not flaky like a croissant nor is it dense like a cake but something in between with the creamy filling.
