This is a two fold answer. Typically when you call a place you expect the receptionist to be helpful. But unfortunately both (separate days) that I have called up there she has been unhelpful. 1st she didn't answer ever any of 4 calls stretched out of hours bc I was reaching out to every Toyota in the state and surrounding. 2nd day very very rude over the phone. "Typically people leave a message" well I'm sorry usually when people give you multiple options and then choose for the customer you aren't snarky when they call back. The other half. Both men that I spoke to while buying my new car were absolutely the best. Very helpful, knowledgeable, and polite. So if you don't have to call them go ahead in and see them. If you are servicing your vehicle - BUYER BEWARE! I have always taken my Toyota Tacoma (since 2017) to Kenny Thomas Olathe Toyota but never again. I had may tires rotated and they did not tell me they not only split my metal key to my wheels but over torqued the lug nuts. I did not find out until I brought my vehicle in for another tire rotation. They would not perform the rotation as they over torqued the lugs. Their response, go buy more lug nuts and we will use them. This was a horrible experience where they refused accountability for breaking my key and damaging all of the lugs. No sorry or options to make it right. They had opportunity to make it right and did not. I emailed the service manager to let him know about my experience - no response. Do not go here! Been coming here for decades and bought 4 new cars here. we're done because the service center has gotten so bad (and expensive - shop around!). This last visit, i took my truck in for service and dropped it off. they said they would call me when it was done and never called. Showed up shortly after 5 and found them closed. Called and talked to some sales manager and was able to come in the next day to get it. but without the threat of me just coming to get it anyway, I would have been stuck til Monday. Also they wrote down my card info. Yikes! PCI violations? The service department never once called me back to apologize or even acknowledge what happened. Mom's Avalon needed tending to since it had been about 2 years (ummm, thanks COVID?) since she took it in for maintenance. I was informed up front it would be about an hour wait since they were slightly backed up (for whatever reason)--and it was maybe only just so. I didn't mind the wait; I brought it in on a Friday morning--plenty of donuts to consume (I didn't, but they had many) and the coffee/hot cocoa dispenser was working--I did have the cocoa--so yay! Mostly a quiet atmosphere during that time of day. Both the lobby/waiting area and women's restroom were clean. They have free WiFi so I popped on my iPad and read my book. I previously was going to another Toyota service center that was much closer to my house. I found out I had a Customer Support Program issue with my roof leaking during hard rains. The Toyota service center that I had been going to for the past 4 yrs refused to fix it and denied the issue (even though they were the ones who informed me that this was a covered issue) A friend of mine recommended Olathe Toyota. I contacted Edvin and told him my story. He reached back out to me about 15- 20 mins later and had already spoke with Master Technician Kevin who was very familiar with the issue. I had my car in for service within a few days. After looking at the issue, Kevin actually showed me the issues and gave me a honest timeline that the car would be available. Kevin even found black mold forming under my roof liner from this issue and quickly got approval from Toyota Corporate completely replace the roof liner. I was beyond grateful for this extra level of service and concern for my health and wellbeing. Edvin put me in a rental car for a week and promptly let me know when my car was good to go. Everything was covered at no charge due to the Customer Support Program that this issue fell under. My experience leading up to the day of purchase was a 5-star experience. Gevon was helpful all along the way in the test drives, answering my questions, and helping me get my dream car months earlier than expected. The fees at Olathe Toyota are lower than at other dealerships in the area, and I sincerely appreciate how they don't force you to take any add-ons. I would recommend Olathe Toyota to my friends, family, and co-workers because of their professionalism, their low prices, and the quality of Toyota cars. My experience the day I purchased the vehicle was unfortunately sub-par. There were a couple things that made the experience worse. 1) The wrong VIN was used for the first quarter of the paperwork. It was an honest mistake and ended up being perfectly fine in the end, but it was quite stressful and had me double-checking everything for the rest of the day. 2) Additionally, the dealership repeatedly promised verbally to waive the $100 deductible on service covered by the lifetime power train warranty (if the service was performed at the dealership), despite the paperwork saying it would not be waived. When I asked them to put that in writing, they refused multiple times. I trust that they will keep good on their verbal promise, but I'm not a fan of signing paperwork that says the opposite of what I'm being promised. Near the end of the paperwork, they even had an internal form that stated their policy: the dealership does not allow verbal promises that are not also in writing. They asked me to verify that they had followed that policy. Of course, I refused to sign that part. At the end of the day, I didn't feel like I was getting cheated or anything, because I generally trust people. But there should not be a sliver of doubt when you're making this big of a purchase. read more

What happened to customer service? There was no resolution to our problem, just an "I'm sorry, I don't check landline voicemails." and "I'll do some research." Not sure what research is going to be conducted. Honestly, I didn't expect anything to come of it, but I at least expected a call back. Took my 2024 Toyota Corolla hybrid that I bought here a year ago at full price, no financing, for its first oil change and to get an open recall taken care of. Upon arriving I asked the service tech about the recall. I wanted to know exactly what it was. Why it happened. How serious of an issue it was. He was as clueless as I was and blew it off like it was no big deal. I had to Google it myself and read about it on the internet. I suggest informing and teaching your techs about open recalls, so they can inform customers and provide valuable information. If anything, print off a sheet that they can read from! That out of the way, let's move on to the issue that happened that will never have me coming back. I have a dashcam that's way up out of the way in the middle of my windshield. I use it for doing rideshare. Pryor to arriving to my appointment, I unplugged it from the middle console power supply. So it had no power going to it at all. It was off! When I returned to my car I found it pointed down at my dash, with the little black nut so lose that it fell off, and the cord unplugged from my dash cam! Why are they touching my property that they don't need to be touched? Are your techs paranoid that they are being recorded on a dead camera with no power? If so, why didn't they put it back the way they found it?! Eventhough they shouldn't be touching it at all! I'd love to hear the sugar coated excuse for touching my dashcam and why it wasn't put back together. Looking forward to it! Also would it be too much to ask for to run a shop vac on the floors and maybe put down those paper "Thank you" mats during oil changes? I don't expect a full free detail, but at least provide some inkling of care for your customers cars. Instead of not even putting the seat back and leaving personal dashcams taken apart. I will never be back to this lazy, unprofessional, dumpy and apparently very paranoid over unplugged dashcams dealership. My husband and I purchased a 2022 Gold Certified used Toyota Highlander yesterday from this dealership. Our experience was great, from the beginning to the completion of purchase. We were greeted in the lot by our young salesman August Unverferth. He was immediately upfront by sharing that he was brand new to this job and might have to ask for help and answers from his boss. (Ends up that August is only 19 and we were his first purchasing customers!) His supervisor, Casey Williams ended up being a big help, explaining about Car Fax, buying cars from non Toyota dealerships, and the Gold Certified program. We had an old Honda Pilot that we decided to use as a trade in and got what we thought was fair price for that. We also were introduced to people in the service department and eventually dealt with Daniel to finish all of the financial aspects of the deal. We were offered the opportunity to purchase optional accessories, extended warranty, and financing, and did not feel pressured to do any of these. Every single person we dealt with was absolutely top notch! If our new used vehicle serves us as well as we were treated by all of the team members at the dealership, we will be return customers and refer our friends and family to shop there. Although I had another appointment scheduled for after my visit to Olathe Toyota, I never made it. From the moment I entered the dealership, Robert greeted me with a smile and maintained that positive energy throughout the entire process. I ended up purchasing a car that had all the features I wanted, including a heated steering wheel and a liftgate that I could open with a simple wave of my foot. I'm always afraid to go into any car dealership because you end up feeling like you've been held hostage and won't be released until you buy a car. I had a very different experience at Olathe Toyota. The sales rep, Leroy, was helpful and knowledgeable and let my friend and me test drive the car where we wanted. (Except off road lol. ) They had some versions in the back of the dealership that were sold but he went back with us to look those over. In other words, he did his job in an accommodating way. But what was really nice was when we went back into the dealership Leroy got some questions answered about the cars and specs, plus cars that might be coming in. He didn't put on a hard sell or try to maneuver us into an office or get us to sign in the dotted line. We said we'd be in touch, we shook hands and we left. That's the kind of experience I want when I'm first investigating cars and when the time comes I will go back to Olathe Toyota. read more

Dropped off a deposit for a GR86 in October of 2022, thankfully no mark up from MSRP, unfortunately I went on disability shortly after that because I needed to get my hip replaced. Was put on 50% pay and lost a good chunk of the potential down payment. Explained my situation to Gevon that I wouldn't be able to afford a GR86 for probably another 6 months to a year, he was very understanding and got me a check for my deposit the following week. Second oil change that has left a big puddle of oil on my garage floor. The first time this happened was 5 years ago when Olathe Toyota's mechanic forgot to put on the oil drain plug washer. That mishap left a 5 foot puddle of oil on my garage floor. And now after having my oil changed this week the garage floor has another puddle of oil. Looks like they screwed up putting on the oil filter, likely missed a gasket on the filter. Either way, it's a major hassle. Garage floor is a mess again, I ruined a pair of shorts and shirt on the greasy garage floor trying to see what they screwed up and the dip stick reads it's too full of oil. Their mechanics suck dick. Avoid this place and go to a different Toyota dealership for service. After 15 years of using this place I'm done. Oh, and I just brought a new RAV4 but Olathe refused to offer a single dollar discount so I bought it from Molle Toyota because they offered a discount without a hassle. read more

User Ordered a part for my Toyota and paid the super expensive ($65) overnight shipping. I had someone in town a short time who was available to repair my car. Nowhere on the online website was it stated that this part was not in stock. As the day wore on and there was no delivery, I received an email that the product would go out today, therefore probably getting to me a day late. To be safe, as my mechanic was only in town a few days, I called Olathe. Through the phone conversation I come to find out that my part is not in stock at Olathe and will not be sent out on this day (not what their email indicated). In fact, my part would not get to me for FOUR DAYS! Yes, I paid overnight shipping on a product they didn't have in stock and would be receiving a total of FIVE DAYS from when I ordered! Needless to say, I'd expect an apology of some kind from their representative. Nope. William, the representative from Olathe with whom I spoke, was a rude misogynist who in no way should be on the phone in any sort of customer service capacity. Because Olathe's website does not indicate products that are out of stock, I wasted a full day and am unable to have my mechanic do the repair before he leaves town. Beware of doing any business with Olathe. They misled me both with their website and follow up email indicating I would receive the product overnight and the next day when it would have taken several days. I really wanted to give these guys 4 stars since I was referred here by a friend. First off, I am not a haggler. I should have told the sales team that when I first arrived. I was looking for a used car. their inventory was low and they did explain that. but my "salesman" did no discovery, he just wanted to sell me a car, he didn't really care if it was a car that was a good fit. I did take a Camry for a test drive, I told him I liked it but it was out of my budget. he still had me get a credit check to see if I could afford it. his manager came over and said he wanted to take care of me and "it's not about money" it's about taking care of people. I realized I couldn't afford the car and left. Five minutes later they texted me an offer of $1,500 for my trade-in (originally they offered $750) and dropped the price of the Camry $500. Why the heck didn't they start off with that? The salesman texted me 2 days later to see if I could put more money down to bring the monthly payments. I called him and told him my issue with them dropping the price after I left and said they should have offered that at first. "well, Jason, dealerships are in the business of making money" was his response. Totally contradicted what his boss said 2 days ago. I went to Enterprise Car sales - and fell in love with them after working with this dealership. If you don't like to haggle go to Enterprise or Carmax. No need to waste your time here. read more

Brought my truck in for service, no verbal communication just text message and then when you call them for service on hold forever. A ton of recommended service to be done with high dollar. Had them do water pump and spark plugs for $2200 which is outrageous. Wanted front brake pads for $480....i bought pads for $80 and had them done within an hour by myself. And the kicker...after giving them $2200 of service, a daily courtesy car "rental" was $80. Geezus Christ.....bleed every ounce would you? I'm done, I give way more attention and credit to local small business shops that respect you and test you as a client and not a dumb sucker that drives into their shop. My rant is done. read more

KBB my 2020 Camry SE Nightshade Edition. Trade in 27k-29k. This Toyota offered 21k. There was not a Camry on the lot to purchase and there is not a Nightshade edition for sale in the state. When I told them manager what KBB listed he said they are incorrect. I left and went to both Honda and Chevy and both offered in the $25k range . This Toyota is ridiculous and wanted to lowball me because they thought I didn't know better. Shame on them. read more

My advice to people is to stop contributing to meaningless/useless reviews like "they treated me nice, when I bought my car" OF COURSE! they will treat you nice when you buy a new car. They want your money!!! Now, see how they will deal with you if you have a basic issue with your "not so brand new vehicle" (in my case a $20 part that was defective from the manufacturer that needed to be replaced). They refused, and I ended replacing it myself in less than 20mn. I can guarantee you that most people would not even know how to replace it or even have the tools to do it. We are in the process of purchasing a RAV4 for our daughter. I asked the sales manager if they would be willing to provide a third key fob for the car so that my wife, my daughter, and I could each have a key fob. Since the dealership did not negotiate on price (price is MSRP), I asked the sales manager if they would be willing to provide a third key fob at cost and not charge a programming fee for the fob. The sales manager refused to provide the third key fob at cost without a programming fee and stated that programming the key fob costs money and then he said "Why should we have to pay for that?" My response was, "Because it provides customer service with minimal effort on the part of the dealership." Programming a key fob takes about 15 minutes for a technician to do. Toyotas are high quality cars, and they really don't have to negotiate on price because they are in such high demand, but it was disappointing to see such poor customer service before taking possession of a car. read more

I worked with Nick and told him right away that I won't be buying today, and he was very respectful and didn't try to push me in to buying one today. He still took the time to show me multiple RAV4s and answer all of my questions. I was visiting my daughter who lives in Olathe Ks, I have a Lexus rx350 and this dealer is 5 minutes from her house I know that about 50% of parts are interchangeable between toyota and lexus so I called and they said I could service the car there, the visit went pretty well they were organized efficient and fast. The problem was I drove there from Las Vegas Nv and was driving home about 1600 miles. After driving home I backed my car out of my garage and there was fresh oil on the floor I looked under the car and oil was dripping from the drain plug area, I called the Service Manager at Olathe Toyota and left him a message that oil was leaking and I was taking the car to The toyota dealer by my house, they inspected the car and found the drain plug was loose and the gasket was pinched. Ow i'm very upset I drove 1600 miles and could have blown my engine if all the oil leaked out. I left the Service Manager and additional message stating I wanted reimbursed for my oil change, I had to pay the dealer by my house who changed it again because they had to remove the drain plug to repair the leak. Have yet to hear from the manager since i left my last message. read more

Short story: I had a sales manager yell at myself and two girls "You guys can Get out!! next time save yourself a trip and don't come back!!! " for offering 10k on a car listed for 15k. Full story: I came in to help my friend buy herself a 2015 Honda Civic last week. The price was high (not unusual for a dealership they have to make a living too) listed at 15,900. A very good condition car on Kelley Blue Book is listed for 13,500. This one had had front end damage repair, a hissing speaker, and stained back seats. Worth about 7,000 as a trade in. Did the test drive. Sat down to negotiate because it is at the end of the day a used car dealership and these are used car salesmen (see: sleazy). He said he could come down a couple hundred. I said 9,500. He went and got his manager. The manager had me sign a piece of paper committing to 9,500. He went back to his desk. A few minutes later he returned (somewhat more angrily) with another sheet showing that dealership had made a Pretty bad deal on the trade in and payed 11k for the car and then went ahead and invested 2 more thousand in repairs. I pointed out that they should not have done that and I was not about to. He frustrated said he could not sell the car at 9,500. I shook his hand and left. I had no idea the animosity that caused this man to have towards me. A week later I notice that the car has dropped in price. I went back in to see if we financed through him we could car for closer to what it was worth. We walked in. A new salesman approached. He asked if we had been in before. Full disclosure I lied and said we had not, just because if I could get the car without talking to Monsieur Crybaby I would be ok with that. We went on another test drive. Came back and the original sales manager sees us. We go sit down at the negotiating table while both salesmen from our adventures as well as the sales manager and a new fellow pow wowed at their sales desk. After about ten minutes I walked over to the Pow wow, and said are we going to talk tonight? Original sales manager: "its 15k I will sell it at that cost or I will not". Me: "You haven't in 45 days". New sales manager angrily: "I will find somebody (see: Sucker)" . Me: "I want to take it off your hands". New sales manager "at what price??" Me: "10k plus financing." NSM yelling: "You guys can get out!!". a little shocked, as this is a new customer service tactic I haven't seen, I say "Fine by me" me, my girlfriend, and her friend turn to leave just as this shell of a man who needs to have the last word says "And next time, save yourselves the trip and don't come back". What started out as a fantastic experience and customer relationship, turned into a nightmare when I approached the dealer and asked for assistance with utilizing my "lifetime powertrain warranty" to help repair a powertrain issue that happened on my 2015 Toyota Sienna. Unfortunately due to my oil changes being slightly out of sequence (was at 62,000 when I was getting the 60,000 check up), that was grounds for rubber stamping the decline and rejection of my petition for help. Unfortunately after a number of back and forth emails with the service manager asking for assistance, I got the note because "you have serviced with me one time in four years so I really don't consider you a service customer and even if you were I wouldn't pay for something that I didn't create" and that he wasn't interested in helping me to petition (or place a bit more pressure) on the warranty company. Sure I don't do a lot of service with him, but did purchase a $43,000 car from him. But guess that doesn't matter. He went on to say they have no control over this partner or their business practices. They just peddle them as a value-add (which honestly got us to buy from Olathe Toyota vs the competition), but now am totally regretting it and taking my business elsewhere. Brought my wife's car into the shop for an airbag recall in January 2021. This is about the same time I got diagnosed with cancer. We notice immediately that the horn doesn't work and the air bag light is coming on. Honestly my wife is too busy dealing with the news and taking me to treatments and visiting me when I was hospitalized. We brought it in today and we get a call from a technician asking who had been working on her car (only them). A few hours later we get a call saying it's just normal wear and tear and the cost will be $1000 to fix. Talked to Steve, service manager, and he said there is nothing he can do and there is no proof is their fault. Not a way to treat anyone, even if they aren't dealing with cancer. read more

I paid 15$ shipping for two TRD AIR FILTERS for 2022 Tundra. I emailed 3 times with no response back on when I'm receiving my package. This is very unprofessional.
