We went out to celebrate a friend's new promotion at work and they really made her feel special all night. We went on a Tuesday night at 730. Here's what we ordered, and it was ALL AMAZING!!! APPETIZERS- Crab cake Excellent, no filler just lump meat crab seared with a touch of seosoning, BBQ shrimp was great as well. I ordered the French onion soup, so good from the melted cheese to the broth to the bread. All Great! Next up was our entrees His order Rib Eye, with a side of mushrooms My order 8oz filet with asparagus. The steaks were melt in your mouth tender. Makes me want to drool just thinking about them. Again, everything was great. I would suggest sharing sides as the portion sizes are large. We left Stuffed and Happy. One more shout out to Bo our server. I ordered two butter cakes to go, and both were cold when I received them. Every time I've ordered this dessert in the restaurant, it's been served warm, so I knew something was off. I called the next day to let them know, but instead of listening, they insisted the cakes were warm when they left the kitchen -- which simply wasn't true. They even implied I was lying and refused to offer a refund or any kind of resolution. Came here for a birthday dinner and was astounded by customer service! The owner frequently visited our table to check in with us and was so personable. Started the meal off strong with freshly baked bread. The pretzel bread was the star of the basket! Then came the deluxe seafood platter holding massive pre-cracked king crab, prawns, lobster, and oysters on a bed of ice. The chilled seafood tasted straightforward - nothing too special beyond the size. We were excited to see the behemoths arrive: a 34 oz Tomahawk and 18 oz bone-in Delmonico! Those sharing the Tomahawk requested medium well, but received medium rare - Staff happily and quickly took it back to the kitchen for correction. Meanwhile, our eyes met the glistening pink-red meat of the medium rare Delmonico. However, our mouths were letdown by its chewiness and lack of flavor. Among the many side dishes, my favorites were the creamed corn and ricotta gnocchi. Ended the night fangirling over the sticky toffee pudding and butter cake! Warm, moist, gooey, rich, sweet, scrumptious, and - WOW. Both were topped with delicious vanilla bean ice cream. My neighbors and my husband and I came here for lunch.It was four of us and we were excited to try this place, but it definitely did not live up to our expectations. The food was mediocre at best. My husband had a chimichurri steak sandwich and the steak was so full of gristle that it was disgusting. My neighbor had to send his shrimp scampi back because it was way overcooked. I had a crab salad that was just OK. We also ordered some rolls that were pretzel rolls and even those weren't good.I've had much better. We dropped a pretty penny between my wife and I but it was well worth it as the food was fresh and made with high quality ingredients. Came here for a friend's birthday on a Saturday. Arrived 3 hours earlier than our reservation (golf ended earlier), and came into see if they could accommodate us. Unfortunately they couldn't. Not a huge deal, we go to Yard House to watch the game while we wait. We were sat promptly upon our arrival, and our server Josh was amazing throughout the entire dinner. All the servers were great, really attentive. We ordered 2x Delmonico specials (40oz with a side of spiral potatoes), Chopped Salad, Mashed Potatoes, and the Ricotta Stuffed Gnocchi. Now the following is just our personal opinion on the food, so take the review with a grain of salt (which unfortunately our steak Needed) The salad was good, and the mashed potatoes were amazing. The real stars were the spiral potatoes with garlic butter, and honesty, one of the best Gnocchi dishes I've ever had IN MY LIFE. Unfortunately our steak lacked any real flavor, and we had to ask for salt to season it. This shouldn't happen in an establishment like this. This is why they don't have Salt & Pepper on the table... because what the chef prepares is how it should be eaten. Now, it could be a the sheer size of the steak that maybe the salt didn't penetrate, but I also could have sworn Josh said it was dry aged...and the steak had no dry-age flavor at all. My friend's were not satisfied because they had been there before, and said this was not what they were used to. I was saddened because I was the one who wanted to get the Delmonico Steaks. So leaving this at 3 stars based on potential (I'll order a smaller steak next time, maybe a bone-in ribeye, if there is a next time) and the great service we received. Found this restaurant on Yelp for a last minute dinner and called to make reservations. They were super busy even on a Wednesday and had no tables available until 9:00 pm but we were starving. Luckily, the host mentioned that they had bar seating available with the entire menu we could order from. Even with bar seating, I had the best experience here! Food was divine and service was exceptional. Definitely a place you NEED to try! PARKING: - The lot was filled! I had to park on the street but I'm sure if you did a few circles, you could find a spot. There was lots of street parking you could find and the walk isn't far at all. Plus, downtown brea is so festive and nicely lit at night. It doesn't hurt to take a little stroll to dinner. SERVICE: - Upon entering, we were told we could sit at the bar table and that someone would help us. It was a bit unappetizing to see someone's leftover drink in front of me as I sat down but they cleaned up pretty fast and took our order. - Geremy our server/bartender was the BEST. He was really kind, refilled our water glasses and checked up on us often. FOOD: - We decided to go with the 34 oz Tomahawk ($150) which included 2 sides of your choosing plus a buttercake! Such a good deal. Bread: 10/10 Complimentary bread and butter. So warm, so soft, so good. The bread basket was delicious! There was a variety - pretzel bread, regular bread, and a cheesy crisp. Tomahawk: 10/10 Tender, buttery, perfectly salted and seasoned, perfectly medium rare. The garlic cloves were a nice little decor and complimented the steak. This was the BEST Tomahawk ever. Presentation on a wooden board looked really nice and the waitress brings it out to ask if you'd want them to slice it in the back for you or if you'd prefer to cut the steak yourself. Ricotta Gnocchi: 7/10 This dish came with mixed mushrooms and you could add black truffle or crab to it at an additional cost. It was pretty good! Very cheesy and thick. The gnocchi would melt in your mouth and the mushroom sauce was creamy. Potato Au Gratin: 6/10 A bit on the saltier side and nothing too special about it, but it was LOADED with cheddar and Gouda. I LOVE cheese, but even this one was a bit too salty for me. There were large chunks of cheesy potato slices in there which I still enjoyed! Buttercake: So warm and delicious, the butter was creamy whipped goodness. The cake was a bit dry, but still good! It came with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream and some fruit that paired perfectly. A perfect dessert to top off all that food. DRINKS: - Mood Enhancer Craft Cocktail $17 Pisco, Lemon, passion fruit, sparkling wine This drink was delicious! Not too sweet and hit the bubbly spot. - Kiss with a Fist Craft Cocktail $17 Chili infused tequila, lime or strawberry A spicy little drink.. very unique. Not my favorite, but still had a good taste. This place is definitely the have-to-visit restaurant in the Brea area. Everything here is delicious, and they have the best hospitality for their patrons. Tony and Danny, the owners, are very friendly and humble to greet everyone in the house, as well as the manager, Oscar, and all their staff. The place is always busy, even on weekdays! Their cocktails are exceptional. Besides regular cocktails such as Moscow mule, Paloma, etc., they also make their signature yummy drinks. My favorite is "The fist with a kiss" with strawberry. It's spicy yet sweet. I can't get enough of it! Their steak is delicious, and the sautéed mushroom is highly recommended. Valet parking is available at the back of the restaurant. My honey and I had dinner here 01/04 to celebrate my birthday, and this restaurant was perfect! To begin, the restaurant is beautiful and has a lovely and welcoming ambience! This steakhouse has been on my list for some time, and I finally had the chance to visit. I feel it's especially important post-pandemic that we support independent/non-chain restaurants and this place definitely stands out as one of the best non-chain steakhouses in southern California. While I had seen pictures of the restaurant beforehand, I was still impressed by the ambiance of the place, the decor, lighting and comfortable bar seats & booths were very nice and set the right vibe for a fine dining experience. While we were pleased with the choices for sides, there is definitely a shortage of appetizers for those who don't eat/enjoy seafood. We ordered two sides (the ricotta gnocchi and the matchstick truffle fries) and these were actually the best part of the meal. There's clear inspiration in the fries from a chain competitor (they even share the same name) but I have no problem with that. Gnocchi were good, a solid 4/5 and the sauce was easily the best of all the sauces we tried. Unclear if the bread basket was supposed to include white rolls but we received multiple rolls that were heavily salted but fresh and warm. Definitely order if you don't receive them complimentary, unclear if that is only for dinner or if free bread is not offered. (I suspect the former, but if anyone knows let me know) On to the main event, the steaks - we opted for the center-cut ribeye. Let me preface my review by pointing out that they have numerous cuts, including the Delmonico as well as the more luxury cuts of Tomahawk and Ribeye Cap. While I feel confident I made the right decision given the cuts available, I do admit I have had much better ribeyes in the past. That is not to say it wasn't a great steak, or that it was prepared poorly. It just wasn't anything special. As to the sauces, we ordered their sauce trio, Bearnaise, Bordelaise and Herb Butter. The first two are my favorite steak sauces usually, yet I felt the Bearnaise was just ok here. The inclusion of I believe tarragon and perhaps other additions to the otherwise simple cousin of Hollandaise weren't to my liking. Bordelaise is difficult to mess up, and this did not disappoint. If you're getting a steak, get this one. As for the Herb butter, it was exactly that - herbs inside butter, nothing to write home about. Since we're unfortunately not fans of horseradish or peppercorn, that will likely mean we'll order just bordelaise in the future. On the topic of horseradish, it was likely contained in their ranch dressing that accompanied the fries, so heads up if you're like me and detest the paste. It was a special occasion and a complimentary dessert was provided, the butter cake. Superb presentation and delicious. I can't imagine coming to the restaurant again and not ordering it! Lastly, I do want to say that I'm giving this restaurant 5 stars in no small part due to how clear it was that the entire team there from top to bottom is passionate about delivering quality food and a great time to their guests. Especially Tony demonstrated a special desire to deliver the highest quality experience to his guests, a stellar example of what a restaurant lead or manager should be. I went here for lunch to celebrate the holidays with co-workers. It was my first time here. Food and ambiance were both great. I got the Filet Mignon and Wild Mushrooms. I ended up sharing sides with a few co-workers since it was probably too much for one person. Because of that, I was able to also try the shoestring fries and Brussels sprouts and both were also great. As for my drink, I order a spicy margarita. I'm sure it was because we went for and early lunch but there was plenty of parking building the restaurant. She was awesome from the start she super friendly, easy to talk to, and always had a great attitude. This space is what I would describe as classy casual -- you have some older folks in business suits alongside millenials in jeans and a hoodie. It's a lively place with some of the most comfortable, silky smooth cushioned booths and a long open bar. We started off with a couple of Old Brea Old Fashioneds -- an old fashioned is my drink of choice wherever I go. I love that they serve it with a large ice cube (too many bars serve it with too many ice cubes, which dilute the drink!). Upon the first sip, our initial reaction was wow, this is quite sweet. Maybe a tad too sweet for our preference, but overall good and strong. We ordered the scallop crudo, and if you've never had Peruvian scallops, they are aesthetically pleasing to the eye --exotic and delicious. Unfortunately, the citrus white soy dressing they doused the scallops in, was too acidic and very tangy. In fact, it reminded me of dressing for larb (a ground pork or chicken Thai salad). Had they toned back on the citrus and not put as much sauce on the scallops, it would have been 10/10. I'd say less is more -- let the scallops shine! Based on other reviews, we also ordered the French onion soup to share. This definitely lived up to the positive reviews -- it was absolutely cheesy & gooey as one should be, and the broth was delicious. If I may dock one thing about it, it would be to add more onions -- ours had more bread than caramelized onions. Hearty comfort food! Our main entrée was the special of the day, a $99.00 30-day dry-aged T-bone steak cooked medium rare. We also opted for the truffle matchstick fries and the broccolini with garlic confit. Along for the ride, we also asked for a trio of sauces -- we went for the truffle butter, béarnaise, and the OBCH steak sauce. The latter was suggested to us as the staff member (who brought us our steak/not our server) highly recommended it and said, "it is sooo good!" When I asked him what it was, he said it's the house sauce. I said ok, but what's in it? What's the house sauce? He equated it to chipotle sauce. So we decided to take him up on that. The trio of sauces ended up being the WORST accompaniment. The OBCH sauce was NOT chipotle, but rather it tasted like super sweet BBQ sauce. No complexity whatsoever. The béarnaise sauce was flat and tasteless. When I think of béarnaise, I think buttery, creamy sauce of tarragon, peppercorns, and shallots -- something almost similar to that of hollandaise. The béarnaise we were served was a runny yellow sauce that was devoid of any flavor. The same for the truffle butter, which was an overstatement. Ours was a coagulated large dollop of off-white cream that barely had any semblance of truffle. What a shame. We tried all of the sauces 2X each before we pushed it off to the side. Whoever makes the sauces in the kitchen needs sauce 101 training. At the very least, salt it and taste it before serving it. Unfortunately what we were served did not enhance our steak at all. The matchstick fries were a large portion, one a family of 4 could share -- nothing to write home about. And our broccolini was undercooked -- way too crunchy. Another minute or two on the pan would have been perfection. Fortunately, the T-bone steak was perfection. It was cooked to our liking and it didn't need any sauces. We enjoyed this with a glass of a 2018 Cab from Napa Valley and a 2020 Petit Petit. Service was excellent and attentive. No complaints there. Would we return? Probably not as the kitchen missed the mark on quite a few simple dishes. Competition is stiff with so many wonderful steakhouses throughout Southern California! read more

Came here for Thanksgiving Lunch and it was a shame of an experience. The parking was easy since there is a free public parking lot across the street. Made reservations for lunch including a toddler and they were able to seat us in good order. After the seating is when the whole experience fell apart. The presentation of the menu was slow as mud and the server didn't even mention that there were any specials available. I had confirmed that the Thanksgiving offerings were available by phone, but when was not presented the options made a alternative plan to order the places regular offerings. Then I hear the table behind me ordering the specials... we flag down the waiter to order who mentions nothing about the specials until I ask about it. At this point I am thinking what class of restaurant I made reservation for... a classical steak house or a local Denny's. We opted for the Thanksgiving meal and some other things a picky toddler would eat. As the bread comes out we notice the plates were dirty, agian flag down a server to get a plate replacement, who looked at me with a Pikachu face until I pointed exactly on part of the plate that was dirty... As the food the highlights was the stuffing and sweet potato. Both were incredibly flavorful. Overall I would say the food was overpriced. The sides are all a la carte, and you probably only need one per eater because the portions are so generous. We went on a Tuesday and I was surprised how packed it was.
