2 Two Smoked Meats (brisket and ribs)

One of my favorite parts of the plate was the brisket, it was so tender and well seasoned I highly recommend it. I also got an order of ribs and you know it's going to be good ribs once they fall off the bone. As for the sides, the coleslaw was refreshing and the fries were very crisp and fresh. Would definitely come back here again.

Me and hubby decided, to try some good ole BBQ for lunch since it's so hard to find a good spot in North Carolina. I got the chicken platter with a side of collard greens and poblano Mac n cheese. The chicken wasnt dried at all! Omg the Mac n cheese was Soo cheesy, creamy and delicious. Collard greens had piexes of bacon in it and the seasoning was on point. You will see some sauces on the table to use, vinegar, sticky patches and tide water. I love the sticky patches mix with vinegar on the pulled chicken. It's like a BBQ sauce but way better. The platter was a hit for my tummy and taste buds! I did had a side Arugula salad, the dressing they use mix with the crumble cheese, slices of applies, nuts was so refreshing after walking for a good 4 hours visiting the Jamestown Settlement. Hubby had The Big Hal sandwich ( sliced brisket, pulled pork, seared pork belly, coleslaw, red onions, soy pickle jalapenos, bread and butter pickles on a brioche bun) with a side of fries. Hubby was a happy man and finish his whole plate lol. There are some outdoor sitting, if that is your thing. Service was quick and our server was friendly. I couldn't eat all my food but trust I took it to go to enjoy later. We were very pleased with our lunch and would recommend this to new folks visiting in time!

We were craving BBQ after a long day at Busch Gardens and we came across Old City. A great little spot, the food is incredible and the servers are super nice and accommodating. I'm still dreaming of those pork belly bites, highly recommend!

When visiting Colonial Williamsburg, be sure to stop at Old City BBQ. The restaurant is only 1.5 miles away. Here's my rating: -Pork Belly Bites 5/5 The following rating 4.5/5: -Pulled Pork -Collard Greens -Banana bread pudding The following rating 4/5: -Brisket -not tender or fatty enough. -Smoked Cheddar Poblano Mac n cheese -Smoked Stout beans There's indoor/outdoor seating the outdoor had two fire pits. The service was great and restaurant decorated nicely. I definitely would come back especially, for the Pork Belly Bites! Happy Yelping :)

Their brisket was soft and you have 3 different bbq sauce to choose from. I ordered their seared pork belly bahn mi and it was huge for me. I wish they seasoned the pork belly more tho and I didnt really taste any sauce to the bread. Bread was crispy pn the outside and soft inside and same as their cornbread.

I will be honest the food is fantastic!!! The ambiance is fitting for a BBQ joint. I love the casual and fun design of the restaurant. They played up the local and BBQ mix. The service was good but pushy. I didn't enjoy how hard my server was trying ro sell dessert. I wanted to ask her if she got commission on it. Back to the food though. I got the brisket dipper and holy smokes. The brisket was juicy and flavorful and the dip made it even better. I got the sweet potato fries which were good but not great. But I'd return for the brisket any day. My date got the taco sampler and beans and said they were delicious. They disappeared quickly too.

My server, Bliss, helped me pick the perfect meal for my first time visit. My NY Ribs were delicious - tender, flavorful, and generously slathered with tasty bbq. The side of cornbread was the perfect complement to the meat. Service was fast, everything came hot and tasty. Definitely a great place to have an awesome meal.

Great restaurant! Went here on a Saturday afternoon, fairly busy but received food so quickly! It's hard to find good bbq in VA so I was a bit reluctant to try the bbq out but wow I was so glad I did! It was so good! Nice and soft and smoky. Pickles were delicious. I will have to order the pickle plate next time. Fries were delicious! Cornbread was tasty and sweet. The pecan pie was perfect!

Small portions of mediocre food at high prices. Served on throwaway Chinet™ paper plates. Tourists (like us) beware.

The staff was kind and the restaurant was clean. The pulled pork bbq sandwich was okay and the corn bread was dry.

However, I would not recommend the brownie and chocolate sundae dessert. The brownie and cookie were cold and hard, which made the dessert disappointing. On the positive side, the carrot cake was huge and definitely worth sharing -- easily enough for 3-4 people. The service was excellent as well. Our waiter was very attentive throughout the meal and made sure everything was taken care of. Overall, Second Street American delivers great food variety, strong service, and a family-friendly atmosphere, with just a few misses on dessert.

They also came with fries or onion rings, funnel cake fries, and a drink of your choice. Two of the guys had the root beer and said it was pretty good. Now as for the dogs, the two guys that had the coneys were happy with them, although one was hoping for a little more spice from the chili, but it was by no means bad. The burnt ends dog was said to be pretty freaking good. As for the American dog, we'll that was a different story. It wasn't a bad dog, but it tasted like it had been boil cooked and not cooked on the griddle. Additionally, it wasn't really that warm. I guess warm is a good description for it. It would have been better if it was hot and you could see some cooking marks on it. Alas, it was and had neither. But again, it wasn't a bad dog, but it could have been much better. The onion rings were pretty tasty though, as were the funnel cake fries and crinkle cut fries. This night was Wednesday, so it was trivia night. At 6:30. At about 6:00 people really started to come in, and by 6:30, the place was packed. Guess trivia night is a big hit... The people working there were super friendly and you fealt as if they were happy to be there. I would have given it 5 stars, but tbe warm dog just brought my experience down a bit. But don't let that stop you from going there, because you'll probably have a good time with good food and good people.
