Cutest cafe with friendly staff, tons of plant-based options, and cool decor. The rootbeer chai changed my life
Omg. The black currant latte!! Order it ASAP. It is something I have not seen before and it is soooo delicious. I wish there was a location in Los Angeles because I know I will want this drink again. Service was lovely & very helpful finding vegetarian options as their kitchen location is under construction. It is located in the food court, with plenty of street parking too.
This review is from their food truck near Woodbine. I came hoping to try their popular black currant latte, but they were sold out, which probably means it's as good as everyone says! The staff suggested either the cereal or banana flavor (special of the month). I couldn't decide at first since I was worried they'd be too sweet, but he reassured me they wouldn't be. I decided to be adventurous and went with banana even though I'm not usually a big fan of bananas. I was pleasantly surprised the banana flavor and sweetness were both subtle and balanced. I enjoyed it while sitting outside during the perfect weather. Will def be coming back to try the black currant next time perhaps at their main shop.
Ngl if your not vegan don't come I didn't know it was vegan and wasn't bad but didn't like it so yea I'm probably not gonna come back
This place is great! My only complaint would be it was somewhat hard to find, maybe just put out a more noticeable sign. But once you do find it the service was very nice and quick, I love their fun and changing menu options, and I greatly enjoyed the blueberry pie latte. I also love that they have a little market inside. It's mostly clothes but some decor and home items as well. It's fun to look through while you wait
This place was great! First time here. Got a latte and the OC hash made vegan. The dining area is bright and airy. Really cute decor. The server was an angel she was so sweet and fast at her job. The food was really good too. The house made hot sauce is delicious and VERY spicy but I couldn't stop eating it. If I had to go looking for improvements I think a little bit less of that purple cabbage in the hash would have made it perfect. And the napkins are crazy thin. Maybe buy thicker napkins lol.
Such a cute little shop! Parking is a little snug in the lot but street parking is pretty open. The kitschy thrift decor is so fun to look at and there's tons of local artsy quirks throughout the cafe. This used to be a vegan only establishment, now they do offer some dairy/egg products. We tried some of their unique drinks, our favorite being the root beer chai. So well balanced! The black currant latte was unexpected and delicious, the notes of fruit blended with espresso was harmonious. We will be back to try the brunch menu!
One of my top 3 coffee places in Utah. I love the thrift and coffe shop combo. Amazing place to get great tasting coffee. The syrups are done in house and always knock it out the park. The owner is a cool dude.
I had the brewed coffee and a side of avocado, eggs & house potatoes! Everything from the service to the roast and the decor was on point! Highly recommend
The vibe is incredible--vegan cowboy. Old Cuss is a relaxed place to work for a while with super kind employees committed to giving you a quality experience. My vegan butterscotch almond milk latte was was a bit bitter, but very pretty!
It is a very cute café and space, a bit cold though (my toes were freezing off). The music sometimes gets overwhelming. Our server Luke was very kind and helpful. We ordered the blueberry pie latte, which was 10/10. It was odd that they charge extra for alternative milks when they're marketed as a vegan spot. Food did take a while to come out but we got the biscuits and sausage gravy. The gravy was good, but the biscuits were a bit dense and not flaky. We also got a side scrambled egg and a pancake. The pancake was pretty good, but there was no syrup provided. I would definitely come back to try more of their drinks especially the dirty sodas.

On an overnight for work again, needed my morning coffee fix. Today I decided to go for the drinks. Old Cuss has an "interesting" webpage, wasn't sure what to expect, but I liked it. Easy to find, looked like ample parking if needed. Was very warmly welcomed, and attended to quickly. I wasn't planning on dining in but decided to which is unusual for me. Seated quickly, and met by Sam, one of the best servers I've had in a while. More than willing to offer suggestions, and extremely polite/professional. I opted for the Black currant latte, the rootbeer chai, and the Dagwood breakfast. If you look at the menu, and see things like "vegan", "gluten-free", etc. I implore you not to write them off so quickly. This isn't my normal selection, but it was very good. Great combinations of taste, meats had a Smokey flavor, eggs were fluffy and fresh. The drinks were unique and well thought out. I'm very happy I chose them, and would recommend them to anybody. The service was phenomenal, and genuine. These days that alone is worth its weight in gold. I overheard an interview being done across the dining area, and look forward to see how your place evolves for my next trip to SLC. It was a pleasure, and I hope your business, and staff thrive. read more
The atmosphere at Old Cuss is 10/10 on the charm scale. However, the food and coffee didn't leave as much of a lasting impression. We tried the hash and B&G with a blueberry pie latte and chai latte. They didn't have skim milk, so that was a bummer. And they didn't have a few menu items available either. So we ordered what we could but none of them made us want to come back. (The chai latte was delicious!) As someone who loves trying plant-based, vegetarian, and vegan foods, these dishes didn't WOW me and left me wanting more. I loved Old Cuss for a one-time visit but I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to go back. read more

Went it super excited to try SLC's "dirty sodas" but it was okay... I had the Black Beauty, it mostly just tasted like regular Diet Coke with a hint of lime. I didn't get any of the black currant hibiscus flavor, though I did see a speckle of flower floating in the drink. We also got the Amaretto by Morning, again a little underwhelming, I just tasted spirt and cherry flavor. The fries were crispy! I tried to go in a get some work done on a Saturday but the waitress said they don't give out the WiFi on weekends, just a heads up. So we didn't stay for long. read more

I had a unique and delicious root beer chai tea. They make their own syrup in house. I got the Dagwood with a side salad of high quality greens and pickles red onions. The mushroom jam on the sandwich was unique and delicious! I got it to go and admired the uniques surrounding while the food was prepared. Shout out for flying the inclusive flag! read more
This place is expensive for a cafe. I had the sweet potato waffles that I would give a 3/5. The waffles were tough and difficult to cut and chew. My boyfriend have the avocado toast, and I would give it a 4/5. The toast was tough but the flavor was good. I also had a vanilla latte with almond milk and an extra shot of espresso, and it tasted like a basic vanilla latte without anything to make it unique, so I would give it a 3/5. The services was good but slow and the atmosphere was a basic coffee shop where you placed dirty dishes near the kitchen and the tables change costumers frequently without being wiped down. read more

This place is an easy 5 stars, the coffee was delicious (albeit expensive, $7 latte vibes) and the market was a sweet surprise. The people working were relaxed and friendly sky. Loved browsing the thrift shop while waiting for coffee. A lot of cool pieces and interesting things to look at, will definitely be coming back to try their food and to get some unique gifts. read more

The burger is amaaaazing here! They make a delicious vegan cheese sauce to create unique flavor. The servers are friendly too. When we visited, it was really cold and they allowed us to bring our two pugs inside... and even offered them water. Will definitely come back when I'm traveling thru SLC. read more

Cute hole in the wall coffee/brunch spot near off 2100 and Main St. It's a bit hidden in a strip mall? type spot. It's a mix of a coffee and brunch spot with a market of vintage clothing and accessories. There are vegetarian and vegan options available. I went with Pappy's Breakfast. The food was great! I went with a cappuccino which was good too. There were quite a few dirty dishes out in the "to be washed" section which could have been cleaned up a bit while it wasn't too crazy or in between customers? I liked the vintage decor too. It just felt cozy inside, with people coming to meet together and chat. read more

yum yum yummy!!!! Went here for the first time yesterday and zoo wee mama the f@*king hot biscuit lived up to its name: hot, spicy and truly delicious. The fries that came with were soggy but still tasty :-) Not pictured : iced vanilla latte, super tasty n well made. Definitely will be stopping by here again to get lunch or brekkie!! read more

It's so cute. As someone who is tired of milk the fact that this place is a alternative type of coffee house is AMAZING. I am incredible impressed. The employees are so sweet. I got the avocado toast and the blueberry pie latte with oat milk! So yummy! I would say it was very odd the main road which is nice! Parking was easy it's a cute business center and honestly I love the vintage store inside this and it's so cute! I would say this is a go to spot if you want an authentic coffee shop with a vintage touch. read more

Five star vibe, four star food, three star value. Love the setup and the vintage market attached. Food is good but very overpriced. We tried the breakfast burrito and the dagwood biscuit - both solid eats (but not the best we've had). Would definitely come here to work. read more

I loved my gluten-free chocolate pie. It was RICH and very chocolatey. Like eating fudge. And the caramel was so good! Yummy caramel flavor then BAM strawberry on the back of your tongue. I could see the strawberry in my head. No artificial flavoring here. I was also eavesdropping on the owner and I loved hearing how passionate he is about this place and the food. Great indoor and outdoor seating. This place has a great, eclectic vibe and nothing from ikea! Someone had a creative eye. Passing through SLC and found this place. It's a busy Saturday morning but we found a seat. We didn't order any food, but it looked good! My guy got the monthly Fu!&n special, pineapple upside down latte. Not my favorite, but I also don't like those flavors in coffee. So I guess it was ok. He liked it. For me the only downside, they didn't have cold brew, my favorite. But that's ok, I got my second favorite, americano. The coffee was excellent. Love the vintage market! I didn't realize until I went to use bathroom that it was used/vintage! Great prices and fun stuff. I'm actually on my way to thrift stores this morning. read more
As a vegetarian, I was so excited to see a plant based cafe open up within walking distance from my house! The inside of this little hidden gem is really cool, and you can tell the owners paid a lot of attention to the little details when creating the interior environment. There is quite a bit of seating inside, as well as the cutest little vintage shop featuring items from local vintage sellers. I checked out the shop area while I waited for my food - there were so many great items! I ordered the breakfast burrito, which came with a very flavorful garlic aioli sauce. The burrito was good, had a little kick to it, and was jam packed with veggies. However, it wasn't warmed up all the way and was still pretty cold in the middle, which I didn't realize until I was halfway through eating it. This place is still relatively new, and is nestled in a very up and coming area. I'm excited to see how they grow and develop their menu as they gain a bigger clientele. I'd love to see more food options on their menu. Welcome to South Salt Lake! I think this little spot will do really well in this neighborhood. :) read more

One of the best mochas I have had. Not too sweet, not too tart. Close to 80, east on and off from interstate. Great chill atmosphere, friendly staff. Most creative avocado toast we think we have had. Fresh colourful. Fun vintage items and plants to ponder. I'd be a regular if i live in SLC. read more
