The new hostess who just started a month ago had the audacity to cross off our name on the list after making us wait more than 40 mins for a table without sending us a text message. Why she crossef off our name? Who knows? Because she didn't explain or apologize. She told us she still has to go through the list or we can sit outside. We had to leave because I didn't want to cause a scene but please train your new hostess better. Love this place. As with all Publik cafes, they have excellent coffee and coffee drinks (smooth, not overly sweet) and also delicious and creative iced tea and non coffee drinks. Don't miss the mint limeade on a hot day! This location is unique from their other locations in that they serve food. (They also have brunch cocktails, which we have not tried, but they look good). We have had lunch here and breakfast here and it was excellent. Service is super friendly. Great layout inside, very bright and airy, bustling, also good outdoor seating. Publik kitchen is a cute little dine in restaurant on 9th&9th. The coffee is amazing not too acidic and the people are very kind. Their food is really good too! Not the place to study, though they do have coffee shops located elsewhere. Parking is a little tough since it is street parking, but there are neighborhoods that you can walk from. read more

The BLT had crispy and generous amounts of bacon, the toast was crunchy from embedded grains, and their Amour tomato jam tied everything together with sweet and umami notes. A great spot for breakfast in the 9th and 9th area! Publik Kitchen is a cute, chic place where the coffee selection is huge and the food is as aesthetic as it is delicious. Our server, Britt, was happy to recommend their most popular breakfast dishes and I decided on the Publik Breakfast with bacon and Strawberry Rhubarb jam with my toast. I'm obsessed with the bread they source from a local Park City bakery called Red Bicycle Breadworks. Their bread makes the best toast. Your payment screen starts with a 22% suggestion of tip. Then moves to 20% and 15%. This begs the question- why are you asking for a tip. This is not a full service restaurant. You stand in line to give an order. Your name is called and you must go fetch your food. There are bins for garbage and dishes. The expectation is for you to clear your own table off. I'm waiting on myself, I'll keep the tip for all of my work. Now for the positive. Food is fairly good. Coffee is too grassy but some like it that way (not bad but not my favorite). I do keep returning, however I find leaving 50 cents or a dollar to be more than generous on my part. You could step out from the counter, call out the name and go take the food to the table. First, a note to the owner - please pick different music. No one wants to listen to Toxic, Soulja Boy, Forever by Chris Brown, and EDM remixes for Sunday brunch. Don't skip on the coffee, Publik roasts their own coffee, and the baristas are always on point! We ordered the breakfast sandwich w/ bacon, breakfast burrito w/ bacon, and French toast. The Breakfast Sandwich was sorely disappointing, reminiscent of a fast food chain, lacking in both flavor, originality, and substance... and house potatoes were under cooked. The Breakfast Burrito was actually quite spicy! But pretty packed full and had good flavor and texture, however the side salad it came with is only mixed greens with some dressing (so get the potatoes). The French Toast was by far the highlight of the meal, thick pieces with a delicious cinnamon butter on the side. Overall, pretty over hyped. But the service was great. read more

They were not too busy, but did let us know they were behind and it would be a bit to get our drinks and food, which it did. The brown butter latte was amazing!!!! My favorite now. I ordered the special bread pudding, I was disappointed, wasn't the bread pudding I was expecting that you would get at most places, that is warm and gooey. This to me seemed more like a scone. Cold. I had a side of breakfast potatoes, that was pretty decent and a good portion. My friend ordered a decaf latte and that looked good. She got the veggie burrito, that was mainly just tortilla, a disappointment as well. She got a side of buttered toast she liked and a side of potatoes. I would absolutely come back and eat here again! The only negative comment I have is about the wait time to be seated and to get the food being a little on the lengthier side, despite quite a few empty tables. My friend and I went on a Sunday morning, and there was a small handful of other people waiting to be seated. Plenty of open tables, we were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait. It ended up being almost 30 minutes, with the wait for our server to take our orders as well as the wait for our food also being a little slower. They must've been understaffed, so it didn't bug us that much. The food itself was definitely delicious. The avocado toast had the right amount of seasoning, and they pile on a very large helping of avocado. It was probably one of the best avocado toasts I've had in a restaurant! When my plate arrived, I was worried that I'd made a mistake in ordering a side of country potatoes, because I tend to like my potatoes crispy, and not the soggier red potato style. However, the potatoes were seasoned so well, and the onions and bell peppers took them over the top. The restaurant can be half empty, with staff standing around doing nothing and you still cannot get decent service. It is always slow and indifferent - protracted delays, no one ever checks on you, offers coffee or water refills, etc. Today our server came back to tell us they were out of Nutella (part of our order), but instead of been apologetic, she announced it with such atypical enthusiasm, I thought she expected a round of high-fives from everyone, which was absurdly comical. I've tried to patronize this business 4 times and only successfully done so once. Every time I go here, no matter what day it is or what time of day, the hostess always tells me it's a 40 minute wait. I've gone here by myself or in a party of 2, and I hear this from her every time. It's odd because every time she says this the restaurant appears to be at roughly 40-60% capacity with plenty of open tables and bar seating. The one time I ate here, it took only 5 minutes to get my avocado toast and coffee. The toast was good, and it had plenty of avocado on it, and my latte was perfect. The service was very fast. The servers were super kind and helpful. Yet, the 45 minutes I sat there I saw the hostess turn 3 separate couples away. Mind you, over half of the tables were available. Basically, don't go here unless you have over an hour to wait, and definitely don't go here if you have more than 2 people. They like to keep the place empty, so even if it doesn't look busy you might be told to wait before sitting. read more

We are driving across the country and wanted a brunch place to slow down for the day. This was in a very cute area with lots of dogs and grass. Great for our pup to be on the patio. Server is very attentive. Our pup even got her own water bowl! We got our brown sugar latte and cosmonaut pretty quickly. I also got a cold chai latte at the end of the meal which was delicious! Their drinks are amazing! I got the hash and my partner got the burrito. Burrito not pictured because he wolfed that down haha. The hash was good. Potatoes are pretty good with the egg and toast. Everything is served in to go containers. Including the drinks in Dixie cups. We would do it again if we went back and on a week day. I'm torn about my first experience dining at Publik Kitchen. We were surprised to find that they're still only doing to-go orders with limited seating on the lawn and requiring masks to be worn on the porch. We watched multiple parties come and go due to lack of seating. We let a group sit with us so they could enjoy their food while sitting instead of standing or sitting on the sidewalk. We ordered an americano and a latte to start and we couldn't help but laugh when we saw that they were served in Dixie cups. And to top it off, neither drink was made very well. I was expecting the coffee to be the best part of their menu but was very disappointed after a few sips and couldn't finish it. The food was good! The burrito was outrageously large and the French toast was comically small. The burrito was well seasoned and the texture and flavor of the French toast was delicious. But the cinnamon butter wasn't very spreadable, so that made it difficult to eat. It wasn't a terrible dining experience, but it didn't WOW me enough to want to go back. read more

I'm visiting my daughter for Thanksgiving and decided to try this restaurant around the corner from where she lives. Great vibe, sunny dining room and our waitress, Sophia, was attentive and personable. I ordered the quinoa salad with chicken ~ yum! The portion size was larger than I had anticipated so I took half home to enjoy! That being said, the food was truly terrible - I got a breakfast sandwich which (unbeknownst to me) was just a sausage patty, egg, and some onions on a giant burger bun. I'm easy to please but this was just bad. I took a few bites trying to get my moneys worth ($15 sandwich) and left the rest. The potato's were completely unseasoned but fine with some ketchup. If you want coffee, get it to go and get food elsewhere - this was trash. Only writing a review because I'm upset that I spent $26 after tip for such terrible food and a latte. read more

Wow! The new Publik renovations are fantastic, there is so much patio seating and the inside is spacious as well. We had only a few minute wait when we came at peak brunch time and sat on the patio. It was very hot outside but the patio still felt perfectly cool in the shade! The server recommended the brown butter latte which was the best coffee drink I've ever had. I loved the breakfast plate! Fresh quality food. The wheat bread and thick and toasted. My sunny side up eggs were cooked (almost) perfect. The potatoes were good and cooked through. They were not the crunchy, but I was not expecting that. My favorite part was the fresh avocado with slight olive oil and salt and the tomato jam. You get the taste of the tomatoes but it was sweet and paired well with the bread. The bacon was a little crispy for my taste. Their orange juice is cheap and DELICIOUS! The staff really put care into the food and drinks they're putting out and we're all friendly and happy :) read more
