The breakfast potatoes were soooo good, and loved the sauce paired with them. Such an interesting spot with a funky but fun menu. I got the satay away sando and my boyfriend got one of their omelettes. Delicious, we will come back!

Goat Head was such a treat, from the hilarious menu to the friendly staff, and further still to the delicious food. I stopped by for breakfast and thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The Californication omelette was fluffy and packed full of ingredients, then topped nicely with some avocado. The home potatoes were crispy and well seasoned, and the fruit on the side was a nice touch. I also had one of their seasonal lattes and was blown away by how great it tasted; light, but flavorful at the same time. The menu has creative (subversive?) names for many of the dishes, creative and gave me a good chuckle. Definitely a worthwhile stop for a hearty, delicious breakfast!

I met a friend at Goat Head for brunch. It's a small but delicious little place in SLC. It's a little dark inside which is great for focusing conversation. It was a little loud when totally full. I ordered the Californication omelette. They easily accommodated my gluten allergy by cooking my potatoes on the stovetop instead of the fried ones everyone else got. Everything was really good and I didn't feel crappy afterward! This is a counter order place with no real table service. But overall, it felt clean and welcoming. Even the bathroom seemed clean. Definitely recommend, especially for the GF folks out there like me.

Road warrior, the chicken was tasty. Could have used a slaw or something fresh to cut some of the richness.

Goat head has a really unique menu where corn plays a big role. It was cool to see several vegan options. My husband ordered the chicken and waffle. While the chicken was flavorful, we didnt love the cornmeal waffle. The dish needed a slaw or some freshness to cut the richness and heaviness of the fish. My children of the corn was phenomenal, I got every little bit of sauce off the place, but at $18 a plate I didnt fid the service size filling. I would come again to try out some of their other menu options.

Funny satanist themed menu. Incredible bacon. Amazing French toast (squirrels nest) and hearty breakfast sandwiches and potatoes. Inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. The kids love it too.

Their sandwiches are very good made with fresh ingredients. You can tell they put thought into the combinations. The desserts were also a highlight. The only downside is that they take a while to bring out your order, so be patience to wait a bit. That said, it was worth the wait. Customer service was great and the staff was friendly throughout the visit.

What another hidden gem in Salt Lake City! Goat Head has the ambience. They have amazing Unique and fresh food options. They cater to vegan, vegetarian and the carnivore. Now add on the bold taste coffee which is fresh and tastes sooo good you want to get another cup to go! Finally, a big shout out to the staff. They were very friendly. Very helpful. Made so he great suggestions and took great care of us!

It's right on the corner which was nice, but being from out of state made the parking challenging but upon entering it was nice and cozy. Nice and full for lunch time and friendly staff. Our food can out quickly. I got the chicken and waffles. The waffle is cornbread based which was fun but a little dry. The chicken was stringy and the crust was very crispy, almost overcooked? My friend enjoyed her shrimp and grits and said they were flavorful.

The food here was really delicious. I had an omelette and my friend had the croissant sandwich and both were exceptional. I typically don't like to eat the potatoes, but these came with a delicious aioli sauce. I also have a cornbread waffle that served with hot honey and I think I'll try that next time. They serve delicious coffee drinks, and they grind their own beans freshly. Order first at the register before you sit down I'll definitely be back

Was hoping to love this place, but sadly didn't. I would still be open to trying again, but I'm not running back. We had to wait a while to order, there was no one in front of us but the staff were busy making drinks and serving. They might want to hire more staff for busy times to avoid that. The wait from when we actually ordered to getting our food was 35 mins. There are no reservations or guaranteed seating. We sat at the bar and the small bar chairs and hard wall underneath was a bit uncomfortable at times. I liked the Squirrel's nest french toast. You could tell it was real maple syrup, and the sweetness of the soft bread with crispy edges, hazelnuts, and sweet creamy ricotta all melded well together. Unfortunately the Poultry in Motion sandwich was disappointing. If someone made me this at their home, I'd enjoy it, but for a restaurant meal I want more. The flavors were basic, nothing that made me excited to keep eating, the chicken was pretty dry, and it would've benefited from a toothpick in the center since it was falling apart. There was an extremely garlicky sauce on the side, not sure if it was supposed to go on the potatoes or the sandwich. I liked it overall but it was a bit too overpowering.

Today I got the Tower of Babel with sausage and over easy eggs. Delicious! The homemade salsa on it is very good. The coffee was strong and good; I wish I had been offered another cup much earlier into my meal, so I think this is the downside of their service model. Overall though I love this place and I am surprised when I go on a Saturday and it's not packed.

This breakfast was amazing! The breakfast potatoes were on point! My chai latte warm and yummy The omelette was cooked to perfection and supremely satisfied my savory tastebuds! My bf ordered the chicken & waffle, it was perfectly cooked. Crispy and delicious! Service was fast, kind and virtually no wait for our food! Ice water while you wait is A++ The vibe in the spot is no frills, modern minimalist

I got takeout on a Sunday afternoon and they weren't too busy so I was able to pick-up within 20 min. Staff was friendly. There is street parking, I think they might be working on their own private parking lot in the back but it's not accessible to customers at this time. I was surprised they didn't give any utensils or napkins and it wasn't until later that I realized. I got the Corrido de Cortez (huevos rancheros) with added sausage, El Mariachi burrito with sausage, and the Squirrel's nest French toast. The sausage and French toast were a bit dry but overall, everything was pretty good! I kinda wish they would've put the sweet ricotta in a side container like the syrup but it didn't melt too much into the French toast. I probably would add fresh fruit next time!

The reviews were good at this restaurant so we wanted to try it out. It took a while for us to order our food after ordering our drinks because the waiter just took a long time--no surprise there. Once we received our food and the food arrived, upon sight I could tell my crawfish etouffee wasn't going to be good. I eat this meal a lot and I could tell by the color of the roux that I wasn't going to enjoy it, but I remained optimistic. You know looks can be deceiving! What I did not expect was that the food was going to taste as awful as it did!!! It was almost to the point where it wasn't edible. I probably took a few bites and didn't touch the rest. I gave my husband some and he said it wasn't good at all. The alligator cheesecake was such a cleaver idea and cool concept, but it just didn't taste good either. I hate to say this, but I wouldn't recommend this place at all.

Unfortunately, the experience and food just didn't live up to the setting. We visited on a very hot day and chose an inside booth. We knew it was an old dining car and that it might be warm, and there was a fan, so we figured it would be okay. It wasn't. The booth was absolutely sweltering. By the time we realized just how uncomfortable it was, there was no one around to ask about moving. Then there were the flies--constantly landing on our food and drinks, which made the experience even less enjoyable. We ordered the Eggs Benedict and Ruth's Breakfast with pancakes. The Eggs Benedict was a major disappointment, especially given how much people rave about it. The hollandaise had virtually no flavor. A good hollandaise should have a bright, zesty, buttery flavor, but this was completely bland. The English muffin was doughy, and the bacon was overly thick and extremely salty. It was also served in an awkward little boat-shaped dish that made it difficult to cut and eat. I also have no idea what they do to their hash browns. They weren't crisp, had a strange orange color, and tasted almost like Rice-A-Roni. Maybe there's some kind of seasoning added, but whatever it is, it didn't work for us. Ruth's Breakfast wasn't much better. The hash browns had the same issues, and one of the pancakes was completely raw in the middle. To make matters worse, our syrup was forgotten, and we waited a very long time before anyone came back around to check on us. I could potentially overlook mediocre food if the price reflected it, but at around $19 a plate, I find the quality hard to justify. The interior looks charming in photos, but in person it felt more rundown than quaint. The service wasn't terrible, but it also didn't stand out in any positive way. I genuinely wanted to love this place. Given the beautiful location and unique setting, I thought it would be a great spot to take out-of-town guests. Unfortunately, after this experience, I wouldn't recommend it. The setting is worth seeing, but I wouldn't subject anyone to this meal.
