I asked for what's popular and I got the chicken shawarma which was one of the items he said, and since I don't like rice, I got it on a bed of salad instead. Love this place for their delicious and huge portions! The staff here is always so friendly and they have tons of vegitarian and meat options. Some of the food is even halal which is awesome. I love getting their Shisk Tawook which is the most delicously flavored chicken over rice and sauce. They also have some tasty lentil soup and oil dip that is complimentary with their dishes. The kebab dishes are also yummy and cooked so well. I went bike shopping next door and my friend and I thought we'd give this place a try as we walked to the car. Ordered the falafel, lamb shawarma, and babaganoush for takeout. The babaganoush was nearly inedible - it was a heap of tahini that tasted like you're eating a lemon straight up. Where's the eggplant and smokiness? I guess that's why when I ordered the person taking the order commented, "That's a whole lot of tahini you're about to eat." He was right. Lamb shawarma had 3 dried pieces of lamb in it. I wondered if I ordered the correct thing. Adding a photo here so you can see all the lamb after I searched for it and dug it out from under the onions. Flavor of the dish was nice but $23+ for 2 ounces of jerky is robbery, covid times or not. Falafel tasted good, but it was surprisingly cold in the center. I just love this place, probably one of the best Middle eastern food places I went to till date. This restaurent is fairly small in size but always bustling with customers. I went there for my birthday dinner this year and another time with friends, and absolutely loved the food both times. I was offered complimentary baklava when they got to know it was my birthday (baklava was great too, not too sugary and crispy enough to munch on). I dont like the low lighting this place however. We went to the Mediterranean Kitchen for mycousin's birthday since he was new in Seattle. The waiter was friendly, but I wish he had told us about the things we were ordering before we ordered them. After we ordered the chicken noodle dish, we quickly realized that we should not have ordered an Italian-style dish, in a Mediterranean place. Quite frankly, I'm not sure why they offer this because after the bill arrived the waiter told us that the chicken noodle is just their Chicken Shawarma on a bunch of sad pasta. However it is not all bad, the Shish Tawook chicken was really good, and it really felt like the Mediterranean experience we were looking for. The rice served with the Shish Tawook was somewhat underwhelming but the hummus sort of made up for it. My general recommendation for any people going here is to order their most popular dishes ONLY. I can here with my husband for dinner on a Tuesday. We ordered the sampler appetizer to start which was amazing - highly recommend! While we waited for our first course they brought out complimentary lentil-like soup and pita bread with a vinaigrette dip. It was simple yet delicious. My husband got the chicken wing plate and I got the chicken swarma. Both portions were very large, had robust flavor, and were balanced between the rice, meat, and veggies. The service here was friendly and attentive. We did sense that two wards the end of our meal when the restaurant was emptying that some of the waiters were in a rush to close-up (there was still more than an hour before closing) and a bit a tension between the staff (bad moods maybe) which made us feel a bit awkward asking for anything and we kept checking the time to see if we were staying in there too late. Other than that, no complaints. The restaurant itself is cozy. It's nothing fancy or extravagant like the newer Bellevue restaurants, but it was clean and themed. All these years and I have never been to Mediterranean Kitchen...until today. I came here with my friend for lunch in between our work schedules. Holy cow! The portions are huge here. No wonder my friend likes going here. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma plate while my friend got the Lamb Kabobs, which he swears is the best dish on the menu. My Chicken Shawarma plate was so colorful from all the peppers, onions, tomatoes, and garlic sauce. The yellow rice was amazing! There was so much rice underneath all that goodness. As for the chicken, it was tender and juicy and mixed well with the garlic sauce. As for the staff, they were very attentive. As soon as we finished, the plates were already cleared from our tables. This is probably standard for them since it probably gets busy during lunch and dinner time and they want to get in as many customers as possible. When we got there around 12:45pm, it was about 75% full and got a little busier by the time we left. I'll definitely be back again to try the Lamb Kabobs and the other plates. If you're hungry or just looking for good Mediterranean food, definitely stop by this place. I heard the Bellevue location's portions are bigger. I can't even imagine. It's been years since came here last, and this visit did not disappoint. I ordered the combination kabob and he ordered the lamb shawarma. But wait, I'm jumping ahead... We got served lentil soup as soon as we sat down followed by warm pita bread and this awesome garlic dipping sauce. We tried the kibby for appetizer and the yogurt that came with it was amazing! I usually shy away from yogurt because of its sour taste but the one they served wasn't too sour. Our main entree were both good. My combo kabob was chicken, kafta (ground beef) and lamb. I liked the lamb the best. The lamb shawarma was good too. Can't say I preferred one dish over the other. Finished off with baclava. Would definitely go back to try other dish. read more

Garlic everywhere. That's my first thought after trying this place. Garlic in your food, the smell on your clothes, coming out with every breath you take after dining here. Managed to get the last table for 2 on a Friday evening. The place is way smaller than expected. There is complimentary lentil soup and pita bread with garlic dip. The soup style isn't really one that I prefer, so can't comment on how good it is. The pita bread was a bit thinner than expected, but can't argue with that nice add on. The dishes are pricey as well, even more so than my New York standard! $10 for 4 pieces of falafel is atrocious. Yes it wasgood, but I don't want to be paying more for the bed of salad it rested on. The size of the main dishes are plentiful at least. The Dajaj Mishwi chicken was tender and the hummus very good (I'm not even a hummus fan). I did feel like I was eating rice-a-roni flavored rice at times; the overall plate was very basic for the cost. The Chicken Shawarma plate was just average, which just had overcooked dry chicken at times. Service was very quick and attentive, arguably the best part? My husband I typically split this as each meal starts with lentil soup and pita bread with a dipping sauce. The Bellevue location has the better ambience to dine in vs Kirkland in my opinion, as Kirkland seems to have lots of carry out orders coming in and out and fewer tables.
