Our first time in Pigeon Forge and I found this place with rave reviews of its food so e decided to come. At 5:30ish, the place is full and bustling on a Sunday evening. Thankfully the wait was short and we were quickly seated. The wooden mill is bustling with staff and customers. We looked at the menu and was positively overwhelmed by the options. Everything sounded good. Our waiter, Luis, was very friendly and helpful... with our questions and recommended their most popular dishes. We decided on ribs and sauerkraut, fried/broiled catfish, & fried shrimps. Within minutes, the corn fritters, salad & soups arrived at it table and not long after our entrees. This place had its services packed down. Every portion was large m, comes with side & dessert choice. Outstanding. Overall feedback, coming back here for sure... great price, delicious comfort food and amazing service.

Old Mill Restaurant absolutely lived up to the hype and was one of our favorite meals in the Smokies. In fact, it was the first restaurant we ate at when we arrived in Pigeon Forge and the last one before heading to the airport we loved it that much! The complimentary corn fritters with maple butter, salad, and dessert made it feel like the food just kept coming. The portions are huge, everything tasted fresh and homemade, and everyone in our group had leftovers for lunch the next day. Our first visit around 4 p.m. had no wait at all. We came back a second time around 12:30 p.m. and only waited about 20 minutes. The restaurant is massive 4 levels, but they have a great system, and once seated, the food came out quickly. The service was friendly and attentive, constantly refilling our drinks without us even asking. After dinner, don't skip exploring the Old Mill district. There's a General Store, Pottery House, candy shop, and bakery. The peaceful river with ducks, geese, and the historic mill makes it a great place to relax before heading out. Out of all the restaurants we tried in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area, this was easily one of our favorites. We'd gladly come back again.

Local rainbow trout, butterflies and fried. Couldn't eat it all along with the corn chowder, salad, fritters, potato and green beans.

So much food!!! We got there at 5pm on a Friday and waited just over an hour before being seated (they don't do reservations). Sat downstairs, back corner , which was perfect. The fritters were so good, served with sweet whipped butter. We asked for and got a second basket full! Server was sweet and knowledgeable. All the food was great. Would eat here again. Crowded but not too loud.

This place is so busy. They do not take reservations. You put in your name and they will call you once a table is available. There are speakers outside and in the general store. You should be able to hear your name anywhere outside. The chicken or pot pie is what is mostly ordered. We ordered 2 platters of chicken. One platter with 1 breast and 4 drumsticks. The second platter was 6 drumsticks. We also ordered a platter of catfish. You can't go wrong. The chicken was moist and delicious. The catfish was breaded and was good. We had green beans as a side. Also mashed potatoes. The platters included salad and soup. We will be back again.

Old country mill atmosphere with outstanding country service. If you don't get to eat here, you're missing the real gem. The hush puppies were perfect! I thought they couldn't top it until I bit into my pop pie! Made from scratch just like my grandma did. I thought I would never get to eat something as good as hers again, but they came so close m. I give them a 9.99. The chicken fried steak an veggie were great, but nothing can touch that pop pie! We'll be back!!!

Walking in everything smelt delicious and they didn't disappoint. The food was delicious and I think it was the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. The fried pickles were also incredible and all the portions were huge! The service was great and fast. While sitting at our table looking around the restaurant had that nice southern vibe and was super clean. Next time we visit we will be coming back here for sure!

We ordered takeout for our first visit here due to them not having anywhere for dogs, we ordered the chicken tenders, half chicken and grilled chicken. The food was ok but nothing impressive at all. The atmosphere is a lot of fun and we enjoyed the general store though it had a lot of neat options

Just three words of advise when visiting here... Show Up Hungry! This was a huge amount of food and every last bit of it was delicious. I got the country breakfast and managed to eat about half of it before I had to give up. Seriously worth the cost.

Of course we had to try the highly rated Old Mill Restaurant during a recent visit to the city! We were quoted a 45 mins wait but it was over an hour. We visited the store and water while we waited. The atmosphere definitely fits the city country vibe of Pigeon Forge. I had the chicken and dumplings which were so good. They came with green beans, mash potatoes, corn chowder and hush puppies which were also great. Our server was very friendly and made the experience even better. I can see why they are so highly rated! Everything was good!

This place is absolutely delicious! Don't let the pricing fool you because you get an abundance of food which includes a soup, salad, hush puppies, and dessert all included with your meal. Everything came relatively quickly and the food was steaming hot. We enjoyed our service and felt our needs were attended to. I'd absolutely would love to back here!

We love the Old Mill Restaurant. Probably our favorite in Pigeon Forge. Down home cooking at its best. It was extremely busy when we arrived but definitely worth the wait. As with any busy restaurant , it was loud, but it didn't bother us. Johnny was on the spot today. Our favorite server, Santiago, was only taking large tables according to the hostess who could have been kinder, but Johnny definitely filled his place well. The corn chowder was amazing as were the corn fritters. Piping hot. Husband ordered the Country Fried Chicken with the gravy on the side. Added Cole slaw. I had the Pot roast with slaw instead of green beans. Everything was incredibly delicious! Food was perfect and the service on point. Always worth the wait. No time wasted when you get food as great as this.

I have mixed feelings about this place and if I could rate it separately on the restaurant experience and the food, I would. I'll start with the positive - the food is better than expected. My catfish dinner was tasty and hot. Each meal comes with a variety of sides, corn fritters, salad, soup and dessert and everything exceeded my expectations as far as quality goes. The value is good and portions plentiful. We ended up taking my husbands entire chicken pot pie to go as we were already full by the time our entrees came out. The only disappointment food-wise was that they were out of banana pudding by time we ordered dessert, but the pecan pie was a great consolation. That said, the overall experience of this place is exactly what you'd expect from a touristy restaurant turning over hoards of people as quickly as possible. From beginning to end, it felt like I was eating at Disney World, from the Big Thunder Mountain-like queue (and hour plus wait) to the nondescript, somewhat dirty dining rooms. Our server was efficient and nice, but was obviously extremely busy, as were the dozens of others scurrying around with huge trays full of food. Overall, I'd average the food 4 stars with the experience 2 stars, for an overall 3 stars. It's not a place I'll itch to return to, but I wasn't sorry we went either.

This was our first stop in Pigeon Forge and we had a great experience. There was a wait but it they seated people quickly. Our waiter was very nice and helpful when asking for dish recommendations. I had the turkey dinner meal and the cornbread dressing was amazing! The green beans were soggy and not flavorful but everything else we ordered was great. Other dishes enjoyed at the table were the boiled catfish and chicken and dumplings. The dumplings were really well flavored. Great spot for good ole southern comfort food.

Their version of the club sandwich. Looks good right well looks can be deceiving

Amazing food and service! Best fried chicken, great sides, and tons of food for the price. We truly enjoyed our meal.

BEWARE!!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR YOUR MONEY!!! If I could…read moregive zero stars, I would. In every category--service, cleanliness, professionalism, and customer care--this place earns a zero. I've never written a negative review before because I usually try to find a reason to let things go, but this experience was simply too bad to ignore. My family drove over two hours specifically to visit because milkshakes are one of my daughter's favorite treats. We expected a long line on a Friday evening and completely understood that they would be busy. What we didn't expect was the complete lack of customer service and basic respect. The problems started immediately. The restroom was a disaster. There were no paper products available, and it was obvious cleanliness was not a priority. We then looked for a place to sit while waiting for our order. Every table in the building was dirty and sticky with dried ice cream. Since it was too hot to sit outside, we had no choice but to use one of the dirty tables. My daughter ordered one milkshake and one scoop of ice cream while my grandson and I waited. After 30 minutes, she checked on the order and was told they were "working on it." We continued waiting. Fifteen minutes later, we still had nothing while several customers who ordered after us had already received their food. At that point, another customer standing nearby told us they had watched an employee drop an order ticket on the floor and leave it there. We started wondering if our order had been lost. After waiting a full hour for one milkshake and one scoop of ice cream, I approached the register again. The cashier was dismissive and rude from the start. When she looked up our order, she bluntly stated, "You already got it." No, we absolutely had not. She turned to another employee, who immediately rolled his eyes, sighed loudly, and acted as though we were inconveniencing him by asking where our food was. He never apologized, never made eye contact, and never spoke to us respectfully. After being questioned further, he finally admitted what had happened: they had lost our ticket and never made our order. Here's what really upset me: mistakes happen. Losing an order is frustrating, but it can be fixed. What cannot be excused is the attitude. Throughout our entire visit, the employees treated customers as though they were a burden. We watched them be rude and dismissive to multiple people, not just us. When I requested a refund, the employee responded with "whatever" and processed it. There was no apology. No attempt to make things right. No offer to replace the order. No concern whatsoever that we had spent over an hour waiting. When I told him the situation could have been handled more respectfully, his response was simply, "uh huh." My grandson left upset because he never got the ice cream he had been waiting for. We drove over two hours, spent more than an hour inside the store, and left with nothing except frustration and disappointment. This review is not because they lost an order. It's because of the complete lack of professionalism, accountability, customer service, and basic courtesy shown by the staff. We will never return, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone JUST DONT GO HERE !!!! The owner of this place should be made accountable for hiring such a disrespectful lot of JUST DO BETTER or eventually your doors will place and you will be replaced by a gourmet cupcake store .

If it's busy prepare to wait. I had the strawberry cheesecake... it had a whole piece of cheesecake... not a little sliver. They don't look that big on the menu. It's casual. If the weather is good, they have some outdoor seating.

The place was packed, which I took as a good sign. I had looked at the menu on my phone beforehand, but I didn't realize you order at the counter. I don't mind that setup at all, but I expected there to be a menu posted on the wall or on a screen while you waited in line. There wasn't. I was trying to look at the menu on my phone while also helping my special needs brother decide what he wanted. By the time we reached the register, I knew his order but still hadn't made up my mind. They did have paper menus at the register, but with a long line behind us, I didn't want to hold everyone up. I ended up ordering the Bacon Bomber with the Frytato as my side, and my brother ordered the dinner salad. We were given a number and were fortunate to find an open table. Considering how busy they were, the food came out in about 15 minutes, which was very reasonable. Everything looked great, so my expectations were pretty high. My brother said his salad had a lot of lettuce, and while it also had a generous amount of chicken, several pieces were so large that he had to go get a knife to cut them into smaller bites. I started with the Frytato. They were okay, but nothing that really stood out. They were also sitting in a lot if grease. Much more than I prefer. As for my burger, I think I simply picked the wrong one for my taste. It was a good-sized burger, so I cut it in half. I believe it was the jalapeño popper topping that didn't work for me. I usually enjoy jalapeño poppers and usually like both the cheddar and cream cheese versions, but on this burger it just wasn't a combination I cared for. The burger itself appeared to be cooked well, but the flavors just didn't come together for me. I finished half of it, but I honestly didn't really enjoy it. Would I go back? I'm not sure. It wasn't an inexpensive meal, so it's disappointing when the food doesn't hit the mark. I do think my burger choice was probably the biggest issue, but my brother wasn't especially impressed with his salad either. It just wasn't the experience I had hoped for based on all the great reviews.
